Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Amara ❯ Super Saiyan ( Chapter 4 )
Chapter Four- Super Saiyan
Bra had gone to school today so Amara would have nothing to do but train with Vegeta. After breakfast, Amara passed the infirmary and saw Bulma coming out of the door.
"Hey," Bulma said. "Trunks looks much better today, but I think he's fallen asleep."
Amara nodded and Bulma smiled and walked off. Amara watched her go and then turned to the infirmary door. She looked at it for a while before deciding to enter it.
She closed the door and walked over to Trunks. She looked down at the sleeping teen. She sat on the edge of the bed and reached out for him. She ran her fingers through his lavender hair.
Sitting there beside him as he slept reminded her of her mother. How when Amara was young, her mother would all ways come to tuck her into bed. Her mother would touch her hair and sing or hum a song. The song all ways put her to sleep.
Amara began to sing the song, softly in her native tongue. A language no one spoke anymore and the only other person who would know it was probably Vegeta. She sung the whimsical tune to the sleeping boy and closed her eyes.
She didn't see Trunks open his eyes and turn them towards her. He smiled at her and reached out. He touched her lips and she jerked back as if his touch had burned her.
He looked at her with serious eyes. "What was that song you were singing?"
"Just an old song my mother used to sing to me," she said.
He smiled. "Please sing it again."
"But I…"
"Please?"
She nodded and sang it once more. He watched her ebony eyes as she spoke and listened.
When she was finished, he said, "Thank you."
She couldn't hide the blush on her face. "Sure."
"So you're Amara," he said. "You saved my life. I owe you big time. If you hadn't have come along when you did…" He shook his head. "And then you prepared the antidote for me. How am I supposed to repay you for all that?" There was amusement in his eyes.
Amara smiled. "I just wanted to help out a fellow Saiayn. There are not many of us left and I'd be damned if I let that monster kill you."
Trunks laid his hand over hers. "I feel much better today. You don't know how much I want to get out of bed."
"You mustn't," she said. "You still need one more day of medicine and time to recover."
He nodded. "I know."
He noticed something thumping up and down on the bed. He moved his hand and touched it. He felt soft, fine hair under his fingertips.
"A tail?"
"Of course," she said. "I am a Saiyan." She paused. "I haven't asked this question, but I must admit I'm curious. What happened to all the others' tails?"
"Surgically removed," he said.
"Why?"
"None of the earthlings have tails," he said, with a smile. "But I think the initial reason was because a tail causes too much trouble. It's not very safe for us to go ape every time we see a full moon."
She looked down at her tail. "I guess there's no need for it now. We're not trying to conquer planets or anything."
He nodded. "What are you going to do about yours?"
"I don't know," she said. "It's a part of me. I'm not sure if I'm willing to leave it behind."
"That's understandable."
She looked into his eyes and it made her breath catch in her throat. She looked away and stood.
"I've stayed too long," she said, suddenly. "I have to go train with your father."
He laughed. "Good luck…you're going to need it."
"Why?"
"Well, just don't expect him to go easy on you."

The Gravity Room was unlike anything Amara had experienced before. When she and Vegeta had first entered the room, it was like any ordinary room. Then Vegeta said he was setting the controls to 150 G. She watched him punch some buttons on the panel and it instantly felt like a herd of elephants had been dropped on her body, but she stayed standing. She looked over and to her dismay Vegeta was having no difficulties at all.
"This is nothing," he said, coolly. "Now let's begin."
He came at her with a lightening fast flurry of kicks and punches. She dodged them the best she could, but her best just wasn't enough. He landed a kick to the side of her head and she skidded across the tile floor.
He looked shocked at first, but regained his composure and walked over to her. "I thought you were much stronger than this. Get up!"
Amara got up on all fours and looked at him. How was she supposed to defend herself when she couldn't even move? She stood, slowly and powered up.
Vegeta gave a small smile and launched his assault on her again. It ended up in the same way it had last time. Vegeta sighed and looked down at her.
"This isn't working," he said.
"Of course it isn't," Amara said, moving into a sitting position. "Give me a break, I've been out of commission for thirty years and I wasn't exactly properly trained as a soldier or anything to begin with."
"I'm sure you remember those old legends about Super Saiyans," he said, suddenly.
"Sure," she said. "Everyone used to talk about it. It's just a myth, right?"
"Wrong," he said. "I've ascended to that level and I will show you now."
"You're a Super Saiyan?!" she exclaimed. "Wow that's so cool! You were the first to achieve the Super Saiyan level?"
He looked uncomfortable. "Well, no…not exactly."
"Who was the first then?"
"…Kakarot…"
"Oh." She raised an eyebrow at him. "Well, I'd like to see."
He nodded and stepped away from her. One moment he looked the same as he all ways did, then a flood of energy came over him and engulfed him in a yellow aura. His hair stood taller and turned yellow and he stared back at her with teal colored eyes.
Amara was left with her mouth hanging open. "Y-y-your power level…it…skyrocketed!"
He smirked. "This is only the beginning."
He increased his power once more and brought himself up another level. Amara watched in awe.
"Once you are able to obtain the level of Super Saiyan we will have made good progress," he said. "Training under this gravity under Super Saiyan level will be like nothing to you. Are you willing to work hard to achieve this?"
Amara stood up, quickly and clapped her hands together. "Oh yes! I'm ready to learn! I will do it!"
"You have such determination," Vegeta said. "You will accomplish this in no time." His face hardened into a frown. "Now, let's begin again!"
~~~
Amara had trained with Vegeta until 9 PM. They had taken breaks for meals and then it was back to the old grind.
She lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling. She remembered something Vegeta had said to her in the Gravity Room. She was trying to raise her ki level beyond what she thought she could do.
"Come on!" he had said. "All the other Sayains, with the exception of my daughter and Kakarot's granddaughter have achieved this level."
"Then if I do this, I will be the first female to ever become a Super Saiayn?" Amara had asked.
"Yes. And if that isn't a good enough incentive, I don't know what is."
The thought that Amara could be the first female to become a Super Saiyan was the fuel that would run her from now on. Finally, the pampered, first-class Saiyan could show that she was capable of anything if she set her mind to it. She didn't have to stand at her mate's side like a pretty object like the others.
She turned on her side and another thought overtook her mind. Trunks. The look in that boy's eyes today had been frightening. His eyes were hungry, hungry for her. There was pure lust in his eyes as he regarded her. Amara didn't know if she should feel afraid or intoxicated from him.
She'd seen that look so many times before, but somehow it seemed different this time. From her past experiences she knew it was the look of sexual desire, but coming from Trunks she couldn't tell. Did he only want her for that one reason? Or was there an ulterior motive in his gaze?
~~~
The last three days had been rigorous for Amara and very disappointing for Trunks. He had only seen her once during this period of time when she came into his room and examined him. She had said he'd made a full recovery. Amara hadn't seen much of anyone but Vegeta.
They were in the Gravity Room again. Vegeta stood in front of Amara as she powered up.
"Enough defense," he said. "Let's see how well you fair on the offensive."
She came at him and he easily dodged her attacks. He phased out and reappeared behind her. She turned.
"Is that all you've got?"
She frowned deeply at him and tried again. This time Vegeta had to put more effort into defending himself against her. Her power had increased a little now that she was getting angry.
He caught her fists in his hands and smirked. Amara expected him to let go, but he didn't. She knew if she wanted to get free she needed more power.
She concentrated hard and searched deep within herself for the power that she needed to summon. She screamed as she felt something inside of her give way. Her eyes widened and Vegeta's mirrored hers.
Suddenly, Vegeta was knocked back and off balance. He ended up sitting on the floor looking up at her. He gasped.
She had done it! She stood before him as a Super Saiyan and she had only been training with him for four days. They had been training hard and Amara had been so determined that all she could think about was getting to this level.
Her hair fell down her back in yellow spikes. Her ki had taken an enormous leap. She looked down at him with her teal eyes.
Amara's eyelids felt so heavy. "What happened?"
Vegeta stood. "You've done it."
She laughed, feebly and then fell forward into his arms. Her hair returned to its normal color as well as her eyes and her power level dropped back to normal. He lifted her body and looked at her face.
"That's enough for today," he said.
She gave a small smile, but her eyes remained closed. "Thank you."
He turned the gravity back to normal and carried her out of the room. Trunks was walking down the hall and stopped when he noticed Amara in his father's arms.
"What happened to her?" he asked. "Is she all right?"
"She's fine," Vegeta snapped, pushing past his son.
A worried look came over Trunks' face as he watched them walk off.
~ONE MONTH LATER~
Amara trained hard in this month. She had gotten to the point where ascending to Super Saiyan level was as easy as breathing. Whenever she wasn't training, Amara spent time with Bra, which wasn't too often because usually she and Vegeta spent 12 hour plus in the Gravity Room.
Trunks was convinced that Amara had no interest in him. He kept dropping her subtle hints that he liked her, but she brushed them off. He didn't know what he was doing wrong. He remembered the look in her eyes when she was singing that song to him the day he was laying in bed. He remembered the blush on her face, yet she acted as though he meant nothing to her.
He needed some advice, but whom could he possibly talk to. He realized there was only one person who could fathom the behavior of a female Saiyan and that person was Vegeta.
Trunks sighed and made his way towards the Gravity Room. He peered inside the small window and spotted his father inside, but Amara was nowhere to be seen.
Trunks took a deep breath and knocked on the door. He waited and finally after a long pause the door opened to reveal a very pissed Saiyan prince.
"What the hell could be so important that you needed to interrupt my training?" he hissed.
"I need some advice," Trunks said.
"What?"
"I need advice on Amara."
"All right," Vegeta said, looking at him squarely. "I was just about done anyway."
Trunks looked at his father in shock. Had he just agreed to help him with almost no argument?
Vegeta closed the door. "Come on." He made his way to the kitchen. He took a bottle of water out of the refrigerator and sat down at the table. Trunks sat across from him. They were the only people in the room.
"So what do you want to know?"
"I was just curious," Trunks said, "what are some of the `first moves' a Saiyan woman would make to show that she liked someone?"
"None."
"Huh?" Trunks asked, his eyes wide.
"I said she wouldn't make any moves."
"Why not?"
"It's tradition on my home planet for the males to make all the `first moves,'" Vegeta said, with a smirk. "I think I see where this is leading. You wanted to know why Amara hasn't been flirting with you." He laughed. "Well, if you wait for her to make the moves, you'll be waiting a long time." He tossed back his head and laughed.
Trunks rested his elbows on the table and placed his head in his hands. "Oh wow. I wish I would have known this sooner."
Vegeta had stopped laughing. "It's not too late. Remember this, she may technically be a lot older than you, but she has the body and mind of an eighteen year old woman."
Trunks nodded. "That's right. Thanks, Dad." He paused. "Hey, why are you helping me get together with Amara?"
He smiled, smugly. "I'd rather you date a real Saiyan over any weak Earthling women you'd find here."
Ah, so that was it.
Trunks smiled and stood. *Now all I have to do is find Amara.*
