~The Past~

Part IV

She gasped and tears started down her cheek. Right now, he was too strong for her and he didn't let go of her. And she knew he wouldn't anytime soon. 'Oh, Vegeta! Where are you when I need you!' she cried. As if on cue, the prince appeared and grabbed Adon off her. He punched him right in the face, hard, since he was angry. He had been flying above the city trying to find his friend, when he saw Adon and Katriana. Anger build inside him and he shot a powerful ki blast at Adon before he could get up, killing him.

Katriana's hand flew to her mouth as she burst into tears and slide down the wall, to the hard ground floor. She sobbed, wishing she had never taken the mission. Wishing she wanted everything back to normal, when she could just dream of going to other planets. Satisfied with his work, Vegeta walked towards Katriana. He grabbed her arm, so that he could try and comfort her, but she jerked away. He was shock, needless to say. She, as far as he knew, never had done that before till now, and pulled back. After a while, he tried again, but this time she didn't do anything and with Vegeta's help, stood up. He pulled her into a hug and she cried uncontrollably in his chest, wetting his armor. (Uni: Not that he didn't mind ^_^)

"Sumimasen!" Vegeta muttered in her ears, "I only did it for your own good."

"I know," she said in between sobs. They stayed like that for quite a while, while other saiyans that had no idea they were there, kept destroying the city. Since they were out in the open, Vegeta took Katriana to a place where no one could see them. Katriana didn't seem to notice, since her face was still buried in his chest, trying to calm herself down. When she was no longer crying, she took a deep breath and pushed herself off Vegeta. She smiled at him and said, "Arigato."

"For what?" he asked.

"For always being there for me," she grinned, "I was just thinking about you when Adon…" Her voice broke and she stared at the ground.

He walked to her and with a finger, lifting her head so that she would face him. He could see she was hurt and scared, from the looks of her eyes. "You know, tears never did suit you," he said, gently. Her eyebrow went up with confusion. "Besides, I'll never let anyone have you, and even if I did, not like this. What he did was cruel and he deserved what was coming to him," he continued. "You deserve someone much better. Remember last year when you asked me what I thought on love?" She nodded.

~Flashback~

A wind blew by and Katriana's hair got in her face. She tucked it behind her hair with her hand, "What do you think it feels like to fall in love?" she asked, suddenly.

Vegeta looked at her in disbelief. "Now how in Kami did all of those get in your head? Is something the matter with you? You've never asked me anything like that before!"

She rolled her eyes at him and shrugged. "There's nothing wrong with me." She jumped down and onto the ground and looked at the horizon. "It's just that, Raditz is always on those stupid missions and so is my otosan. You, Nappa, and Hanna are going away more and more and I'm left all alone." Katriana looked back at the emotionless face Vegeta. "That means Frieza trains me and I have a lot of time to think."

"That still doesn't explain why you asked me what I think on love," he said in a disgusted tone.

She made a face and said, "I just wanted your opinion you baka!" he shrugged in reply. A hint of annoyance was shown on her face. She turned back to the horizon, her back to Vegeta. "I'd think it would be a great feeling," she whispered. He would've barely heard her because of the wind, but with his saiyan hearing, he could hear her well.

"Whatever," he mumbled.

"You're no fun, Veg-head!" she cried.

He sighed and looked at her. "I'm just not fond of this subject," he said, not wanting to get her mad again.

~End Flashback~

"Still want my opinion?" he said, looking at her. She nodded again, really wanting to know. "Whomever I love will have my heart forever. Does that answer it?" She nodded slightly.

"But what does that have to do with anything?" she asked, confusion written all over her face.

'I might as well tell her' he sighed to himself 'I can't believe it took me that long to figure out that I'm fallen for her.'

~Flashback~

'Damn you, Frieza!' the prince of saiyans shouted 'I thought you cared for her. Now I see you aren't capable of caring.' He looked outside to see the planet Mau. 'Why do I care so much for her anyway?' he asked himself 'It doesn't make any sense. Could it be that I've fallen in love with her? No!' he scold himself 'It's not possible. She's my best friend and that's all we'll ever be! Besides, it's not like she has the same feeling as I do. Or maybe…' He started to debate with himself. 'I couldn't have fallen for her. I just can't!'

~End Flashback~

"Vegeta-chan?"

"Remember when you asked if I've ever been kissed, kiss someone or whatever?" he asked.

"Hai."

"Well, I haven't," he said, looking at her with a face that confused her even more. "That is, until now?"

"I don't understand," she shook her head, "What does this have to do with anything right now."

"Everything," he replied. He placed his hands around her waist and pulled her to him. He bent down slightly and placed his lips onto hers. Katriana was, needless to say, shock. Sure she was telepathic and all that, but she never saw this coming. After the shock passed, she realized something herself.

'Oh, no. I've fallen…' she didn't get to finish her thought. Vegeta's tongue was asking permission to enter her mouth. To Vegeta's surprise, she let him in and her arms went around his neck. He pulled her closer to him. Finally, they tore apart to catch their breath, each looking at the other.

"Would you believe me if I said I'm in love with you?" he asked her.

She smiled and smirked at the same time if possible. "I didn't know the cold-hearted prince of all saiyans was capable of loving anyone was possible. The universe must have blown up for that to happen and this is just all a dream or something."

He embraced her and said, "I didn't think it was possible either. But think about it. You're the only one that truly knows my heart." Vegeta kissed her once more and she kissed him back.

"Prince Vegeta! Katriana!" someone shouted behind them. Vegeta growled. 'Who dares interrupts!?' he thought to himself, angrily. (Uni: ahh…he's finally back to himself!) Katriana winced. She knew who it was.

"What are you doing?" asked another voice. Vegeta groaned mentally.

"What are you two looking at?" someone said and gasped, shocked to see Vegeta and Katriana in each other's arms. Katriana slammed her head in Vegeta's chest. She was embarrassed.

"Katriana! What in hell are you doing!?" shouted a deeper voice. Katriana slumped in Vegeta's arms, even more embarrassed. Vegeta wasn't a tad embarrassed like she was. He was just pissed off. They had just interrupted their moment for kami's sake!

"What do you think their doing, Bardock!" shouted Raditz.

"Yeah! They were making out!" shrieked Hannah, jumping up and down. She turned to Nappa and held out her hand. "You owe me how much now?"

He grumbled and took out a small pouch. Nappa handed it to her and muttered under his breath, "Guess my prediction came true. Kuso."

"Watch your mouth, Nappa!" said Katriana, even though she was still pink and in Vegeta's arms. Nappa mumbled some stuff under his breath, but thanks to her saiyan hearing, she still heard him and scolded him. Hannah began to count her money that Nappa had handed to her, since she won the bet.

"There's some missing!" she whined.

"You didn't expect me to get it all did you? That was a lot of money to bet," he grumbled.

"I know!" she said with glee. ^_^

Bardock was still staring daggers at Katriana and especially Vegeta. Raditz was just staring at his sister for not following instructions as told. She looked away from them and stared at the ceiling. Bardock's fist began to tremble because Vegeta hadn't let his daughter go just yet.

"Umm…what are you doing here, otosan?" she asked, her voice trembling. "Aren't you suppose to be in uhh…what's it called again Raditz?"

"Kanassa."

"Yeah. That place," she said.

"I finished," he said. But knew he said the wrong thing when her face faulted. "Gomen." She said nothing and looked at the ground. Little did he know that she was going inside his head, to see what he did at Kanassa. But, by accident, she came across something she never knew before.

"Daddy, who's Kakarot?" she asked, looking at him.

He was taken off-guard and she knew this because he replied automatically, "You're older brother."

"Otosan!!" yelled Raditz. "I thought you said you weren't going to tell her!"

"Oops," he said, and put his hand behind his back. Raditz just shook his head. Katriana fell silent and pushed herself away from Vegeta.

"What are you talking about older brother!!? I have another one!" she shrieked. Everyone winced, even Vegeta. She had never raised her voice before, unless she was screaming and that was usually at Vegeta. "What else are you keeping from me!!? Didn't you think I'd find out I'd have another brother!!"

'That girl has got some lungs' said Bardock and Raditz to themselves.

"Answer me!!!" she continued to yell. "Where the heck is my so called brother at!?"

"Stop yelling and we'll tell you," said Raditz.

She looked at him, still angry. She still can't believe they had kept this from her for 16 years. She had never been this mad before. This day was the most horrible day in her life, well except the fact about Vegeta loving her and stuff.

"I'm sorry, Katie. We both are," said Bardock, "But what was I suppose to do! Tell you had another brother that would never be here for you? That you'll never even get to see him?"

Katriana looked at the ground. "Where is he?"

"I don't even know," said Bardock, shaking his head, "They never told me, and I was gone at the time."

"Oh," her shoulders slumped and she looked at the ground. She was no longer angry but disappointed.

"…I know where they sent him," said Raditz, speaking up. Everyone looked at him, waiting for him to answer. "He's on the planet Earth," he finally said.

"Earth," repeated Katriana, "That's cool," she added to everyone's surprised.

"Uhh…Cool, Katie?" Vegeta asked.

She turned around to face him. "What else do you want me to say? It's not everyday your brother and father tells you that you have an older brother," she said. He smirked. "Raditz, Daddy, I'll forgive you for not telling me, but you better not be hiding anything else from me! Understand!" she said sternly.

"Yes, Katie," they replied looking at their feet. She smiled at their obedience.

Vegeta took this chance to come up behind her and hug her from behind. Katriana blushed as Vegeta began to attack her neck. Everyone else just stared at them, which made her a tad redder. That's when she remembered something important.

"Daddy, Frieza said he would kill me if I didn't do anything here and I didn't. Since I don't hear any destructive thing going on right now what's going to happen to me? Frieza might hear about it and kill me," said Katriana.

Bardock looked at his daughter. "I'm not really sure, Katie. But I'll be damned if I let Frieza kill you!" He said, loudly.

"I won't let anything happen to you," Vegeta whispered in her ears.

"I'll go against Frieza if I have to, too!" said Raditz. (Uni: he's a little OOC but bear with me)

"I'll fight him too!" said Hannah, "Well once Nappa gives me my money that is." Everyone fell down.

"I'll do whatever Vegeta does," said Nappa.

"I'll fight," Vegeta spoke up.

Katriana smiled widely. She was happy that all her friends, family, and lover were going to fight for her just so that Frieza wouldn't kill her. But then, she frowned. Only she has seen Frieza's true power. Her and no one else knew. And there was one thing for certain, even if they all group together and attacked him, they would have no chance at all surviving him.

"I don't think it'll be necessary," said Katriana, leaning back into Vegeta.

"Why not?" asked Hannah.

"Well, it's not that I appreciate all of you fighting for me," she began, "But even if you attacked him together, you'll never defeat him. He's very strong."

"Well, we should at least try!" said Bardock.

"No, Daddy," Katriana shook her head, "I know he's way too strong for you. Believe me, he's train me himself. I can't even beat him, even with all the training he's given me."

"Then what do you suggest we do?" he asked.

She shrugged. "I'll ask him if I can go on another mission. Maybe I'll have the courage to fight then. After all, he doesn't want to lost his prize warrior," she smirked, "Come on, let's go home."

Everyone went towards the exit of the city towards where all the pods were gathered. Vegeta and Katriana hung back a little.

"Daddy has the Kanassasians power," said Katriana.

"You mean he can see the future, like they can?" asked Vegeta.

"Yep! That means I'm not the only one with psychic powers now," she said proudly. "That's cool."

"I wish you would stop saying that," he sighed.

"Say what?"

"Cool."

"What's cool?" she asked, making him sigh in frustration, "I'm just kidding! And I'm not going to stop. If I want to say it I will. So there."

Vegeta and Katriana finally caught up with her family and their friends. Suddenly, the sky grew dark, or at least that's what it seemed to them. Everyone looked up to see a huge ship landing. 'That ship looks familiar' thought Katriana and just about everyone else. Katriana gasped as realized whose ship it was.

"Run!!" screamed Katriana, "Go, before he sees you! It's Frieza!"

"What about you?" asked Hannah.

"The rest of you run now!" shouted Bardock. "You too Raditz." Everyone nodded and ran into their own ships. Bardock grabbed Katriana away from Vegeta and shoved her in a pod. He pressed a few buttons, before Katriana could protest.

"Know that I love you, Katriana," said Bardock, kissing her on the forehead.

"Daddy…" He hushed her and kissed her on the forehead again, before closing the door to the pod. "DADDY!!" she shouted, as the pod began to power up. She banged on the door, and since she's never really learned how to manage a pod, she couldn't power it down. But, what she did know was that the stupid pod was saiyan proof! She stared at the computer and tried to figure out where she was heading. Her father had set the settings to Earth. Before she could think why he had done that, the sleeping gas was set and she fell into a deep sleep. Not to wake up until she arrived at her destination.

* * * * * * * * * *

"Damn you, Frieza," muttered Bardock as his body was being ripped apart by Frieza's blast.

He had managed to get to Vegeta-sei with Hannah and both had been trying to warn their people, that Frieza was coming to kill them all. He had seen it in the visions that he had been getting every since coming from Kanassa. But no one had believed them and they were too late. Frieza shot a huge energy ki towards the planet.

"You won't get away with this. My youngest son will revenge us," said Bardock. 'With the help of my daughter' this was his last thought before he was killed along with Hannah and the rest of his race and planet.

* * * * * * * * * *

"Arriving Planet Earth in 5 minutes" said the computer. Katriana groaned, the computer voice waking her from her sleeping state. 'What happened?' she asked herself. Then, she thought back to what had happened between her and Vegeta. She smiled. Then, she remembered Frieza and what her father had done. She thought about it for a while and then realized why he had done that.

'To find Kakarot' she said. (Uni: I don't know if I made them tell his name and I'm not going to bother going back and reading it. So, let's just pretend she knew because she read her father's brain, which she did.)

What she wasn't ready for was the impact on Earth. This planet had more gravity then the last planet she was on. As the pod crashed and Katriana not ready for it, her head made impact with the computer making her bleed and as dizzy as someone could get. The pod's door immediately opened and she slipped out. She got out of the crater and looked around. Before passing out, she saw a young man near her age come out of a car.

"Are you alright?" he asked, and she passed out, but he caught her in his arms. He gave her a funny look because of the saiyan clothes she had on, but nevertheless her placed her into his car and drove away.

Next Chapter: Our Lives

Summary:

Crystal is an eighteen-year-old girl who has amnesia and can't seem to remember her past. Watching T.V. with her savior, two men are shown and seems familiar to her. To search for her past, she goes out and follows her heart.

Vegeta watches the battle against the Z Warriors and Nappa and his mind drifts to the past.
