~Flashback, End Flashback~

~Recognition~

Crystal drove towards a desert about two hours from Satan City. She didn't know why, but something told her to head there and she would find the two men she saw. After she was out of the city, she pressed the gas pedal to go faster. She was excited and scared at the same time. She wanted to find out her past, but two questions lingered in her mind.

Would they recognize her, let alone know her? Would her past be finally revealed to her? She shook the feeling away and kept driving. All of a sudden, there was an explosion not far away, but it caused the flying car to topple over.

She jumped out of the car before it had a chance to crush her. Crystal sighed. Just her luck. Oh, well. She took out the capsule for the car and capsulized it. She turned around and stared at where she had heard the explosion. Something in her mind and heart told her to start going that way, and that's exactly what she did.

Crystal walked, what seemed hours, but was actually an hour. She was very hot, especially since she was in the desert. She took off her jacket and placed it around her waist. She heard a couple noises, which seemed like a fight was going on, over a cliff. She ran towards the cliff and looked down. She gasped at the sight.

A big bald man was throwing towards a small boy and a green man had protected him by taking the blast himself. She cocked her head.

'That man looks familiar' she thought, but kept watching.

She saw as the small boy started to beat up the giant, but soon was getting himself beaten up. She closed her eyes, wishing she could help the poor boy, but the man seemed so strong! A memory flashed in her mind, then.

~Flashback~

She started to back up as they advanced on her. Then, her saiyan hearing picked up something.

'Okasan! Otosan! Where are you!?'

'Hey, kid!' he laughed evilly, 'Bam, bam, you're dead.'

She gasped and flew towards the kid as fast as she could go, which was pretty fast. She stretched her arms as far as she could so that maybe, just maybe, she would be able to reach the child in time. She shot a ki blast behind her to boost her speed, which it did, and grabbed the kid out of harms way. They fell to the ground, but she had thrown her arms protectively around the boy.

"Are you okay?" she asked, in a kind voice. She stroked his cheek and the boy nodded just slightly.

"Do you know where my okasan and otosan are?" he asked. She shook her head sadly and the boy started to cry. She took the boy into her arms and hugged him, trying to make him feel better.

"Brat! How dare you try and stop us!" shouted the man in the saiyan suit like hers. He took a good look at the girl who had saved the boy and gasped. "Katriana! What the hell…"

"Why were you trying to kill this boy? He's only a kid," she whispered. But thanks to their acute saiyan hearing, they heard every word.

"We are to destroy this planet," another man replied.

"I don't care," she said, angrily, "I won't let you hurt him!!" She closed her eyes and concentrated.

"And what are you going to do?" the man asked. "Even with all the training you do with Frieza and the prince, I bet your still weak!" Then, he felt something tug at his brain. He began to scream in pain and stopped when Katriana opened her eyes. He dropped to the ground unconscious.

"What the…What did you do to him!" shouted the first man.

"I did nothing," she fibbed. "I was standing right here."

"You liar!" He threw a powerful ki blast at her and she grabbed it as if it were a baseball. She threw it in the air as easily as she had caught it. The group of warriors gasped and ran away. She smiled smugly.

The young girl heard a cough and looked behind her. The boy was coughing up blood. She walked over to him and felt his head. He was burning up! 'He must have internal injuries' she said to herself 'Kami, I hope he doesn't die.'

"Lie down," she told the boy. He did as he was told and she placed her hands into his. She knew she would become a tad weak, enough for the others to hurt her, even kill her, but she didn't want to see this boy die. Katriana began to transfer some energy to him, so that he would have enough to live and her energy would help him heal his internal wounds. After she was sure he had enough energy, she stopped the transfer and laid down to rest. The boy got up and looked at her with a smile.

"Thanks, lady. Whatever you did, I feel a lot better!" he exclaimed. She smiled back. Sure she was tired, but in her mind, making the boy happy was worth getting tired for.

"You welcome," she replied, and sat up, "Listen, do me a favor. Get out of this city, and try not to get caught, okay? There's a space pod and I want you to climb into it. Wait for me there okay?"

He nodded and turned to run out of the city as told, but before he could get far enough, a ki blast killed him instantaneously. She cried in disbelief.

~End Flashback~

"What was that!?" she asked herself. She looked down again and saw the big man advancing on the boy.

"I can't let it happen again," she whispered to herself.

Something inside her began to grow and soon she was flying top speed towards the helpless boy. A yellow aura surrounded her and made her go faster. Once she reached him, she grabbed him before the attack could do any physical harm.

~Vegeta's Point of View~

"What the fuck!?" yelled Vegeta. He had been watching the whole thing and saw something yellow (or gold) get Gohan out of the way.

He didn't know there were other Earth warriors, other than Goku whom he hadn't seen yet. He looked towards the yellow aura, which had turned white, surround a girl. A very………Familiar girl.

~Crystal's POV~

"Are you okay, kid?" she asked, softly, holding the boy in her arms.

"Yep! Thanks for helping me miss," he said. "But you should get out of here, cause these two people are evil."

"Two?" she asked. She had only seen one person. She looked around and saw a man sitting on a large boulder, who wore a scowl on his face.

His gaze met hers and they looked at each other for a long time. Her heart beat quickly. He was the man she saw in both her dreams and this morning! There was something about him, but as usual she couldn't place it.

Then, she felt something hot behind her and saw a ki blast coming towards her. She quickly dodged, with the boy in her arms. She faced Nappa and scowled.

"Why were you trying to kill this boy? He's only a kid," she said angrily, repeating the same thing she had heard on her flashback earlier.

"None of your business you weak girl," he replied, snickering.

"Hey! I resent that!" she cried and put the boy down. "Just cause I'm a girl doesn't mean that I'm weak! It's not like you're that strong either!"

~Nappa's POV~

Nappa scowled and prepared a big ki blast so she wouldn't have the time to dodge it much. He thought she shouldn't be that fast since she was human and a weak girl. But that's when he took a good look at the girl. He recognized her………or at least he had a good resemblance to………her.

~Gohan's POV~

Gohan looked back and forth between Nappa and the strange girl that had saved him. For some reason, Nappa had a big ki ball in his hand ready to fire, but hadn't attacked her yet. He had a big shock look on his face, while the girl had a scowl on her face.

Then, he felt a familiar ki and looked up to see his father! He felt himself smile as Goku flew down and gave Krillen half of a senzu bean. Krillen got up and both he and Goku made their way towards the two.

"Daddy!!" shouted Gohan as soon as they were near enough. He jumped into his father's arms and hugged him.

~Normal POV~

"Daddy?" she said and blinked. She turned towards Gohan and saw he was in a somewhat familiar person.

"Thank you for saving my son," said Goku. "My name is Goku Son." He held out a hand.

She shook it and said, "No problem. I wasn't going to let that baldy kill him. It seems out of nature for me. I'm Crystal Wellington."

"I'm Gohan!" said the small boy.

"And I'm Krillen," he introduced himself.

"Nice to meet all of you," she said bowing with respect, like she had been taught.

While they were introducing themselves, Nappa shook himself out of his shock and saw that they were ignoring him. He hated being ignored! He would beat the crap out of the other three, but not the girl, could he?

She reminded him too much of her. Plus, her strength that he felt when she grabbed Gohan out of the way, felt oh so familiar.

He scowled and threw the energy blast towards the three. Goku felt the energy and grabbed Crystal out of the way, while Krillen flew away at the same time. They all landed not far from where Vegeta was still staring at Crystal.

"You okay?" Goku asked her.

She nodded. "Yeah. But for some reason I don't think he was aiming at me."

"I got that same feeling also," he said nodding.

"So you must be Kakarot!" shouted Nappa, "About time you showed up!"

At the mention of Kakarot, Vegeta snapped out of his trance and sneered. 'So this is Katriana's niichan. We'll just see how strong he is now won't we?' Vegeta thought.

"Nappa!" He shouted, "Leave him alone! I'll have him for myself! Just get rid of those brats!"

Nappa growled but nodded. He turned his attention towards Gohan and Krillen. He smirked and flew rapidly towards them. Before he could land a punch, Goku appeared in front of him and kicked him out of the way towards Crystal unintentionally.

Crystal stared at the man in front of her. What should she do? She didn't know. Gohan said he was evil right? Then how come she had a feeling like she knew him from somewhere? She bend down and touched the man's face, who was now staring at her.

"Do you know me?" she asked, whispering.

"Know you?" he said, confused.

"I don't remember my past," she explained, "Do you think you can help me? I feel like I should know you."

"Katriana," he murmured, before being picked up by Goku and thrown into the side of a mountain.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

But she paid no attention to him as she kept mumbling the name over and over again. Was that her real name? She didn't know. By then, Nappa had started attacking Gohan and Krillen again, only to find himself fighting Goku who was trying to protect them. They two find their way towards Crystal who didn't even noticed.

"That was weird," said Krillen, "How come he didn't attack you and keeps attacking us."

"Krillen! I don't think she's listening to you," said Gohan. They both looked at her. She looked liked she was on another world. "Miss Crystal!!" Gohan shook her.

Crystal blinked and looked down towards Gohan. She blinked a couple of times before realizing where she was.

"Did you say something?" she said softly.

"Yeah, do you know why he didn't attack you?" asked Krillen.

"He knows me," was the reply.

She looked towards Vegeta whose gaze was on the fight between Nappa and Goku. Goku appeared to be winning and was beating the crap out of Nappa. Suddenly, she was walking towards him and Gohan and Krillen were trying to stop her. She shook them off and kept walking towards him.

Vegeta felt someone coming towards him. He looked up and saw her. She didn't look afraid like everyone else, but curious. Soon, she was in front of him. She touched his face with her hand, which were, he realized, soft, as if she was making sure he was real.

"You're real," she said.

"Of course, onna," he heard himself say.

She put down her hand and said with twinkle in her eyes, "Do you know me, like he does?" she motioned towards Nappa.

"What do you mean, onna?" He demanded.

"I don't know my past. Do you know me?" she asked again.

He felt his hand reach her face and stroking her cheek. She reached up and held his hand in hers. They looked at each other in the eye. Blue clashing with black. (Uni: I forget if I've described anyone so………)

'Like her eyes' thought Vegeta. 'But she's dead. Right?'

Both could feel something tug at their hearts, but both ignored it. They each wanted to know something important to them. And both didn't notice their faces closing in for kiss. Crystal blinked and pulled away when she saw how close their faces were. She blushed.

'Why in hell is she blushing for!?' scowled Vegeta to himself. (Uni: I guess he didn't notice)

Making his mind up, Vegeta took out a remote control and pressed a button. A couple minutes later, something landed on the ground not far away from them. He started to walk towards it and noticed Crystal wasn't following him. A feeling told him that if he told her to follow, she would.

"Come on, onna," he ordered. She nodded and followed him towards the spaceship. He opened the door to the ship and said, "Get in. Wait for me in there. You'll be safe."

"Ok," she said, but before she got in, she asked, "Why are you protecting me?"

He scowled. "Because I am! I don't have to explain myself to you, onna!! Now get in!"

She went inside and he closed the door. Once inside, she felt something familiar, but before she could try and figure it out, the sleeping gas went off. Crystal felt into a deep sleep.

"You gassed her!" accused Gohan.

Vegeta smirked. "So what if I did, brat?" he asked. He turned his attention towards Nappa. "Nappa! You failure!!! Can't even beat a third class saiyan!!" With that he threw a powerful ki blast towards him, killing him. Goku stood there shock that he would kill his partner. Vegeta turned towards Goku and said, "Well, well, well, Kakarot, it's about time we met. Let us see who is the stronger one."

(Later)

Vegeta struggled towards his ship and opened the door with his remote. He saw a girl lying there asleep and was apparently waking up.

'Damn, I forgot about her' he thought to himself, grinding his teeth because of the pain.

Dizziness came over Crystal as she woke up slowly. She felt drowsy and saw that the door to the pod was opened. She squinted, trying to see clearly who it was. She gasped when she realized who it was. Crystal stumbled out of the ship, still dizzy but ignored it. She went up to him and held him as he collapsed on her.

"What happened to you?" she asked softly, her hand caressing his cheek.

She saw that his right eye was bleeding and winced. Whatever had happened to him, it must have been a fierce battle. She felt someone come towards her and she looked up. She saw Krillen coming over slowly, with a sword in his hands.

When he was near enough, she spoke up, "What are you going to do, Krillen?"

"I have to kill him," he replied, "I can't let him live. If he recovers, he'll kill us all."

She gasped and placed her body over Vegeta's, hoping to protect him. "You can't do that!!" she cried. "You can't kill him just like that. Besides, he's already hurt! Leave him be."

Krillen looked at her as if she was crazy. "But, Crystal. He killed my friends!! He probably killed even more innocent people all over the universe!" he yelled.

"It doesn't matter to me," she said softly, looking up at him, "He must have had a reason. And………if he does recover, I have a feeling he won't kill me or hurt me in any way."

"Why are you even protecting him?"

"Because he's the key to my past. I have amnesia," she explained, "If you kill him then I'll never know. It's one of the reason I came here in the first place."

Krillen put the sword down and stared at her. "K-Krillen." Krillen turned around and saw Goku. "L-Let h-him go. Killing him while he's down is not a very proud way to die," said Goku.

"But………"

"Don't worry about it Krillen," Goku said, trying to give him a smile but failed.

Crystal formed to ki balls in her hands, even though she didn't know how she knew how to do it exactly. She turned towards Krillen.

"Krillen," she called. He turned to look at her. "Here." She gave him one of the ki balls. "I have a feeling that if you put it over him, his body will absorb it. It'll heal some of his most severe wounds and you can take him to the hospital."

"eerr……….thanks," said Krillen, "What about that one?"

"I'll give it to him," she said motioning to Vegeta, "What happened to Gohan?"

"Ahh………he'll be okay," said Krillen and walked over to Goku.

"Good," she said whispering.

"Why are you helping me, onna," said Vegeta, weakly.

She smiled and repeated the words he had said earlier, "Because I am. I don't have to explain myself to you."

She struggled as she placed Vegeta in the pod and climbed in after him, even though there wasn't that much space. She placed the ki ball in front of him and his body absorbed it. His eye was healed and so were his other most severe injuries. He felt a lot better. Crystal passed out in his arms and he closed the pod's door. She was coming with him whether she liked it or not. But something told him that she wanted to come with him. The sleeping gas went off as they entered space and they were on their way towards Frieza Planet No. 79.

Next Chapter: Lust or Love?

Summary:

Vegeta and Crystal have internal conflicts, each deciding if they feel lust or love for each other. Something is attracting the both of them towards each other, but they do not know what it is. Vegeta receives word that Frieza has gone to Namek for the Dragon Balls.
