This chapter reveals a lot of tension between Goku and ChiChi. They have the biggest argument.
Making a Decision
"I know what the fuck he was doing ChiChi!" Goku yelled. He was in his room with her. Gohan had gone home and Goten was already asleep. Now the couple were arguing about Tony. "He obviously likes you!"
ChiChi was furious. She never seen Goku like this but it melted her top when he yelled at her. She was taking off her pins from her hair and turned to face him. "He's just a friend Goku," she said sternly.
"I bet you like him too," he said while folding his arms. "I noticed how you were looking at him."
ChiChi gasped at his response. "I can't believe you would think of something like that!" she said angrily. "You know I only have feelings for you." Tears were starting to appear in her eyes. She was so upset with him but she tried to keep her composure.
"Well you've been acting very strange these past few days," he said. "Everytime I try to ask you what's wrong you push me the hell away."
She couldn't take anymore. All these years of holding back her frustration and anger to him but now she was going to let go. "I'm sick and tired of you're your bull shit," she said, her voice starting to crack.
"What the hell are you talking about?" he asked her.
She walked up to the dresser and slammed her fists on the desk. "You always leave me to fight or to train someone," she said with tears in her eyes. "It's always been about everyone else except me. I know you have to go to save the world but I can't live on being like this."
"Being like what?" he said.
She sighed and turned around. "Being the one who has to guess if you'll come back or not. Before we were happy. I was always afraid of you walking out that door and never coming back." She sat on the chair crying her heart out. She couldn't take anymore of the pain. She held out for so long that she just had to let it go.
Goku stared with shock. He couldn't believe what he just heard. He never saw this side of her before. He felt his heart sink down to his stomach. He walked up to her and sighed. "ChiChi," he said softly. "You know the reason why I leave is for you and the boys' protection. I've been doing it for the sake of all of you. I don't know what you want me to do. I can't stop fighting and protecting the world. It's what I do and it's what I live for."
"Then go do what you need to do!" she cried. "Go fight. That's what you're good at, right?"
"ChiChi I-"
"Now I know how important I am to you," she sobbed. "I'm nothing. I mean nothing. I never did and I never will." She ran out the door crying histerically.
Goku followed behind. He ran outside and grabbed her in lighting speed (she knew that he would catch up to her since he was a sayain). He pinned her to the ground careful not to hurt her. "Listen to me," he said roughly. "You don't understand."
'No," she said, trying to get free. "You don't understand. You never understood. Now let me go!"
She struggled and she didn't budge. She gave up and glared at him.
"Is this how you want it?" he asked. "What's going to happen between us, Chi?"
She stood silent and turned her head to the side. She was surprised when he let go of her and stood up.
He turned his back to her and lowered his head. "I'm not going to force you to be with me," he said in a low voice. "But if that's what you want then I'll leave." He started going up in the air.
"Wait," she said while getting up. "Where are you going to stay?"
"I dont know yet," he said. "But I'll call in the morning." With that he flew off into the dark sky.
ChiChi fell to her knees and began to cry. after a few minutes she got up and went inside. Suddenly she heard someone coming downstairs.
"Mom?" It was Goten half asleep. "What's going on?"
"Nothing sweetie," she said while putting her arm around him.
"Where's dad?" he asked.
"I don't know," she said. "I don't know." They both went upstairs and straight to bed.
