CHAPTER 17: GOHAN'S SURPRISE

"I just don't know what to do Krillun. I think she likes me, but I'm not sure. She acts like it, but I'm so confused, one minute she smiles, the next the frowns. Geeze! Are all women like this?"

"Only the ones you like buddy!" Krillun answered. Then as if it were an after thought, "Maybe you should ask Vegeta. I mean he is a Saiyan. He probably knows more than any of us."

"Yeah, I guess he is."

Krillun and Gohan were out late talking in the lobby of Capsule Corp. Gohan was staying over to help Bulma with an experiment, but it was basically an excuse to talk to his friend. Then they heard a knock on the door. Two people stood outside. Krillun walked over to see who it was.

"Hey Versi, Marley what are you two doing up so late."

"Hi Krillun," Versi said. "I took Marley out shopping and we went out to eat."

"Yeah, it was really great," Marley said in a voice that wasn't quite her own. "We had pizza and little tubey things and more pizza at this place called, what was it called Versi?"

"Club Pink Neon."

"Yeah, and I've got a lot of clothes and shoes and I should put them in my room. See you in a sec Versi. Hey Gohan!" she hiccupped. "One minute." Marley headed up the stairs with her luggage.

"Versi! What did you do to her? What were you doing in Club Pink Neon? Is she drunk? And how did you get her into that outfit?" Krillun questioned in surprise.

"Well is was her idea, the outfit too. And yes, she is a little, she just didn't stop drinking, I'm not sure she knows what alcohol is. How far out of town is she from Krillun?"

"You have no idea and probably don't want to know. How much did she drink?"

"About enough to make an elephant drunk! She didn't stop drinking! I don't know any one who can drink like that."

"I'm back!" Marley yelled. "Say is this a sleepover Gohan?"

"Uh," his stammered and blushed, her clothes were really very provocative, `I'm just staying over to help Bulma."

"Oh, that is so sweet. You know, it is so nice how you and Krillun are friends. I wish I had had a best friend growing up. Maybe if I had one I wouldn't be such a bitch now!" She laughed and hiccupped and then laughed some more.

"Krillun," Versi said, "I've really got to go."

"Okay Versi, see you later." He said.

"Bye Versi! It was so nice meeting you, we've got to do this again sometime." Marley hiccupped again and waved good-bye.

Versi walked out to her car and flew off, feeling embarrassed. Marley walked over to the window to wave again but tripped and fell on Krillun.

"So sorry. Ya know, I'm not really sure what is happening to me." She said in a confused but cheerful voice. Krillun blushed because she was still hanging on him.

"You know what Krillun," she said hiccupping again. "I am completely unattracted to you." He blushed again. "Oh, but don't worry, someone else is though. But I promised not to tell. I said, `Versi, he's a very nice man and I'm sure he wants to marry you!' Whatever that is, she is really to shy for her own good." She thought about what she said for a second and said, "Oops! I wasn't supposed to tell!" She shrugged, seeming to move on. "But that isn't what I was getting at. Your friend Gohan, he is what I wanted to talk to you about." Gohan and Krillun both blushed now. Marley's tail came undone from her waist and swished a bit before it wrapped itself around her thigh. "And I want to get him into bed. But I'm not sure how to act around him. I think he likes me, but emotions are so unfamiliar to me. And these boots are so uncomfortable, one minute."

She sat on the ground and began trying to unzip her purple boots. Krillun ran over and whispered into Gohan's ear. "Man this is your chance. You heard her, she wants to get you in bed!"

"Yeah I heard, it just wouldn't be right, she isn't herself, she's drunk. Really, really drunk."

"So! Look at her, look at what she's wearing, knowing women, she probably planned it like this!" Krillun said amazed at his friend.

"No, I'll wait thank you."

"Suit yourself man. I'm gonna ask her about Versi."

They turned around and saw that Marley was quite asleep by now, snoring lightly, with one boot on and the other half off.

"Damn! I wanted to know more about what Versi said!"

"I'll take her to her bed." Gohan pulled off Marley's other boot and picked her and her belongings up. He carried her up to her room and laid her down in her bed. He stood looking at her for a moment, Gohan, you are so stupid. He turned around and heard her call his name. He stepped back in to hear her better.

"Gohan? Thank you, I'm really not feeling myself."

He smiled and left.
