CHAPTER 23: EXPOSED

Marley and Gohan finished their nineteenth pizza, they had barely spoken to each other except for Marley's initial criticism about his eating habits. They seemed perfectly happy to look into each other's eyes.

Finally Gohan broke the silence. "Marley…"

"Hum?"

"I…this is hard for me because I'm not sure you understand emotions. I know you feel loneliness though."

She looked at his eyes. He noticed that hers were very, very black. They seemed to pierce through his heart and not look back. Little did he know that he was doing the piercing. He had hit the mark with loneliness.

"I feel lonely all the time Gohan."

"I wanted you to know, you are very special to me. I'm not sure what it is. You make me brave." She smiled at this remembering her friend Versi. "You make me feel like anything is possible. And all I want to do is hold you."

She was almost in tears. She bit her lip and said, "Lets go on a walk."

Gohan paid the check and they walked into the park nearby.

"Gohan." Marley broke the silence. "I have something to tell you too. I'm not sure how these emotions work. I look at you and I see a person who makes me happy. I have to tell you that I wasn't suppose to love when I was designed. But as you know lots of things went wrong with that. I guess that all I want is to be held, but it hurts too much inside for people to see me weak."

They stopped walking. Gohan looked down on Marley, holding her shoulders firmly. He looked deep into her eyes. Marley felt as though her knees would give out. He leaned closer, tilted his to kiss her, and closed his eyes. His lips met air. He opened his eyes. She was gone. He felt a tear roll down his cheek. He felt as though he had lost a part of his soul. He turned around and walked to Capsule Corp. by him self.

He entered the building and found Krillun waiting for him in the lobby. Krillun saw the look in his friend's eyes. They were hollow. He would ask tomorrow. Now he would just let his friend be alone.

Gohan entered the room he stayed in when he was at Capsule Corp. and shed his clothes. He walked over to his bed and laid in it. That night he dreamed of Marley. She was flying in the air, her hair flowing behind her. He was trying to catch up when she stopped and a large ki blast came at him. Then he woke up. He turned over on his side and then sat on the edge of his bed.

He heard the door creak open and looked up. Marley was leaning against the doorway wearing a light silken robe. She looked into his eyes and once again seemed to pierce his heart.

Marley felt her heart pound away in her chest as she approached Goten. She stopped directly in front of him. He began to say something but she held her hand up against his lips. With her other hand she slowly untied her robe and let it fall to the ground.

Gohan's eyes widened. She wasn't wearing anything under the robe. She put her hands on his chest and pressed him backwards. She straddled his chest and kissed him deeply. He rolled her over and kissed her. Her scent was filling his nose and he felt himself loosing control. He ran his hands up and down her body.

"Marley?" he asked. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

She smiled and kissed him again, dipping her tongue inside his mouth. Gohan smiled inwardly and began kissing her neck, nipping it playfully. Suddenly, he then had an unquenchable urge to bite her neck, so he did. It drew a little blood so he licked it off. She looked into his eyes and bit him back.

Gohan woke up in the morning with a foreign object on his chest. He looked down and remembered. Marley was leaned up against his body with one leg intertwined with his.

He was about to fall asleep again when he heard a small noise coming from Marley. He concentrated and listened harder. She was…PURRING! His eyes grew wide and then he remembered she was a Saiyan. He had remembered purring himself at times, but never knew what to think of it. He listened to her for a while and then smiled and went back to sleep.

Gohan awoke again with a feeling he was being watched. He opened his eyes and looked straight into Marley's. She smiled and leaned over to kiss his neck.

"Gohan," she said quietly. "I've got to get going. I'm sparring with Kakkarot in the mornings, and you have to study."

She got up to leave but Gohan grabbed hold of her hand and pulled her down on the bed to kiss her again. As his tongue penetrated her lips she moaned slightly and kissed him back harder. He broke off the kiss and pushed her out of bed again. She put on her robe and turned around and smiled at him. She stepped into the hallway and silently crept down the hall to her room.
