Vegeta ran down the street, clutching a small bundle in his arms, desperately running for the house.

He had to tell him. All their lives depended on it.

Love is in the air
Death is in the ground
Halloween is here
On our little small down

He ran through the crowds of people, darting away from lamp posts and benches, all while clinging to the bundle. He feel the strong ki following him, but it was so very far off that it seemed to be no threat. But Vegeta knew that any second he wasted could lead to death.

He ran into puddles, wetting his armor and spandex and the small bundle. He ran faster, for he could fell small raindrops falling from the dark cloudy sky.

While he worried about his mate's safety (which was highly unusual), the humans of the planet seemed to go through their lives like any other day. They didn't know of the danger that was coming.

He was almost to the house. He jumped on stepping stones in the lake, to prevent from getting even more wet than he already was.

The rain fell a bit harder.

He saw a small figure, which took in the shape of a house. He almost stopped and shouted his relief, but he knew it still wasn't safe. He ran until he reached the door. He panted and knocked on the door harshly, almost knocking it down.

"Kakarot! Open the goddamn door!" he yelled, still banging his fist on the door.

Goku quickly opened the door and saw Vegeta. "Vegeta! Oh, you're back! How was your walk with Yasai?" he asked.

"Oh, it was okay! Now quit worrying about such nonsense! We have serious problems now!" he yelled at the younger Saiyan warrior. Goku nodded and listened intently.

"Kakarot, do you not remember what you and I talked about a few days ago?" Vegeta asked.

Goku took the small blue bundle from Vegeta. The small boy in it saw Goku and giggled. Goku smiled then turned to Vegeta.

"You mean the muffins? Geez, I know that you have to--"

"No, you baka! Your evil half!" Vegeta interupted.

Goku pursed his lips in thought. "Ahh, I remember! Kakarotto, hai?" he said. Vegeta nodded rapidly.

"I think... I think he may actually be out there..." Vegeta said slowly. Goku's eyes widened.

"No way!" he exclaimed, hugging the bundle tightly. Vegeta kept nodding.

"Yeah, and the bad thing is that he may actually be stronger than you.." Vegeta said softly.

Goku gasped, because he knew that if someone was stronger than Vegeta, that was a big threat, but stronger than himself? That was worse.

Goku wasn't self-centered or conceited, but ever since Vegeta told him that he was the strongest Saiyan alive, he believed it. Especially since Vegeta had said it. Vegeta would never say such a thing.

Running without a care
Don't you hear my footsteps quicken?
Stay calm and beware
For tonight's the rule of the wicked

Vegeta ran upstairs and came back down. Goku stared at him in curiousity.

"Why did you go upstairs Vegeta?" he asked, his head cocked to one side.

"Kakarot, I'm checking to see if that guy came already," Vegeta said. "Now be quiet!"

Goku nodded and stayed quiet.

The rain pattered on the roof loudly. The windows had water streaming down them, making it hard to see through. Lightening struck loudly, startling Yasai, almost making the child cry. Vegeta quickly calmed him before he got the chance to cry. Vegeta felt the ki get closer. Goku felt it too, and looked at Vegeta. He gave Yasai to Vegeta.

"Vegeta, if this has to turn into a fight, I don't want you or the baby to get hurt," he warned. His expression was stern and serious. "Go upstairs and hide now," he ordered.

Vegeta gasped, he couldn't possibly be thinking about taking Kakarotto on by himself! But by the way it seemed, he was drop-dead serious.

"But Kakarot! You can't!" he whispered. Goku kissed his forehead lightly.

"Tenshi, I must! If I don't do it, then who will?" Goku told the prince. Vegeta sighed.

"Okay, but you have to promise me that you'll make it through alive, okay?" he said. Goku nodded.

"I'll try my best, Vegeta," Goku said. Their faces neared and Goku's lips brushed against Vegeta. They pressed their lips closer. Vegeta slightly opened his mouth and felt Goku's tongue thrust into it. He groaned and felt the younger man's tongue explore his mouth restlessly, still shoving it down farther.

They pulled away for a much needed breath. Vegeta panted and looked at Goku.

"I love you Kakarot. Please don't die," he said, then ran up stairs with baby Yasai.

Goku nodded.

I'll try my best, he thought.

The rain fell faster and harder. The sound was almost deafening, combined with the sound of thunder hitting the ground. It scared Yasai much. He put his head against Vegeta's chest and cried.

"Please! Silence boy!" Vegeta said. Yasai sniffed and silenced himself.

In the livingroom, Goku stood in front of the door. He waited for what seemed forever. Then he saw the door being knocked down, a tall man that looked like him entering.

"Ahhhh.. It's Kakarot..." he said.

Goku nodded. "What do you want?" he asked.

Kakarotto laughed. "Oh, so you already expect me to do something? Aha, so you aren't as stupid as I thought..."

Goku growled.

"Fight me," Kakarotto ordered. Goku nodded.

"But outside. I will not fight inside," he told Kakarotto.

Kakarotto nodded and Goku led him outside.

"Out here. I will fight you out here," the taller Saiyans said. Goku nodded.

And they fought.

The two men moved quickly, sweat and rain covering their bodies, the power from their fight causing more thunder to strike.

All while Vegeta hid upstairs, not daring to go outside or even look out the window. Yasai kept whimpering, pleading to see his father. But Vegeta knew he couldn't. Not until the fight was over.

Kakarotto punched Goku in the stomach hard, making the shorter Saiyan fall to the floor, trying to breathe. He gasped, trying to catch his breath, a look of pure pain plastered on his face. Kakarotto smirked and kicked his ribs, breaking atleast two of them. Goku screamed out in sheer pain, finally able to catch his breath.

He got up to his feet after a few minutes and got a hold of Kakarotto's tail.

"What are you--"

Goku spun him around, making the taller Saiyan dizzy. Goku fung him to a boulder, the impact destroying the entire thing, while slightly shattering Kakarotto's pride.

"You bastard!" he yelled at Goku, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. He frowned. "You'll pay with your goddamn life."

Without another warning, ki rings were on Goku's legs, arms, neck, and waist, pinning him to a large boulder.

"I've got you now..." Kakarotto muttered, walking towards Goku.

Goku feared the worst.

Can you hear the beat of a drum?
Leading us up and along.
Can you hear the beat of a drum?
Join the song, let's sing along.
Can you hear the beat of a drum?
March the scene and hum along.

Vegeta felt Goku's ki falling... falling... falling....

He couldn't help but let tears trickle down his face, fearing that his kio may have met his match and been killed.

Goku was getting beat up horribly, red, coppery, blood splattering on his clothes, the floor, his face, and Kakarotto.

"You're nothing!" the Saiyan grunted, punching Goku in the head. The blow was hard enough to immobilize him for a while.

"I'll end this now, since you prove no match!" Kakarotto yelled. Two strong, large hands wrapped around Goku's neck. Only one thought went through Goku's mind.

I didn't stick to my promise, he thought.

In one, quick motion, Kakarotto snapped Goku's neck, instantly killing the savior of the Earth.

"Nothing. He wasn't even worth my time," the tall Saiyan grumbled, letting the rings disappear, making Goku fall to the floor, lifeless.

"Now I find Vegeta. He surely isn't on this mudball," he muttered. He disappeared in not even a second later, in search of his space pod.

Vegeta woke up suddenly, rain still pattering on the roof harshly. He looked around curiously, then noticed the baby in his arms.

"Oh no! Kakarot!" he screamed. He ran down the stairs, the child still in his arms. He looked around the livingroom, hoping to see Goku sitting o the couch, on the floor, anywhere. He didn't find it.

The only place he could be now....

No...

He cannot be dead!

He screamed and ran outside, a cold wind getting him, smothering him. The drops of rain combined with his tears. Yasai woke up and cried softly when he felt rain cover his face, making his body dripping wet.

"Shush my child! Shut up!" Vegeta yelled, running farther into the storm.

He saw something lieing in the rubble.

No, no!

He ran closer and was able to see the body of his mate, lying there, lifeless, cold, grey...

Vegeta felt even more tears stream down his face.

"Kakarot! NO!" he screamed. He bent down and shook the body violently, wishing that Goku would wake up.

"Kakarot! KAKAROT! KAKAROT!!!!!" he screamed to the sky. He kept screaming, his ki rising quickly. He felt raw power enter his body, along with agony, anger, and sadness.

Lightening struck once... twice...

Yasai cried loudly, but the lightening, rain, and Vegeta's screams blocked out his cries.

A spark went through Vegeta's face, his now green eyes widening, his hair going bright gold, his muscles growing in size. Yasai stared at Vegeta in wonder, no longer crying.

Vegeta, now a Super Saiyan, continued crying and screaming. Yasai joined the cries and screams.

Goku's body didn't move. It still laid there. Dead.

And now that Goku was gone, nothing would ever be the same.

Ever.
