Drabble 1 “Luna”



There was a moon. It shone clearly in the night sky; lighting up the entire countryside with its gentle glow. The stars, usually a flame in the night sky, where dim shadows of the former glory.
Chi-Chi didn’t mind. With the moon back, there was enough light to see the night for what it truly was-beautiful. Her head tilted back, she didn’t see strong arms lift her up, and twirl her around. Looking down, she laughed, the sound echoing throughout the small valley.
“Goku! I didn’t realize you were home.”
“I wanted to surprise you.”
“And you did. Look-isn’t the moon beautiful?” Pointing upward, Chi-Chi enveloped Goku’s arms about her, as she laid her head on his shoulder. “It’s so perfect…like a pearl.”
“Not as perfect as you, Chi.” Kissing the top of her black mane, he tightened his hold on her. “Just looking at you like this…I’m never leaving; just like the moon, Chi. Not for anything. You and the boys are my whole life.”
Looking at him in surprise, Chi-Chi nodded. “I believe you, Goku.”
He nodded forward, to the moon in the sky. “For as long as the moon’s in the sky, I’ll be here, not leaving.”
