A/N: Warning….. yet ANOTHER fancharacter-centered chapter. Skip if you hate those chapters. But I promise this is the last one, then we really get into the story….

ooooo

All over West High's halls, posters were hung everywhere for the school's annual Spring Fling dance. Boys were nervously asking girls out, while girls demanded boys to ask them out.
Throughout the halls, the trio of mean girls, Sam, Clover, and Alex, moseyed on down, taking their sweet time to get to their next class as they squabbled over the same trivial things they gossiped about every day. "I'm not sure if she noticed, but there was some eye shadow on the side of her eye!" Clover sneered, "Like ugh, much!! If you can't wear make up perfectly, hire a makeup artist, like duh!"
"I'm more worried about the shoes she's wearing... sneakers??" Sam groaned, "Hellooo? Leather boots go with that outfit! What was she in, gym?"
"But I'm wearing sneakers..." Alex moaned.
The other two were silent for a moment. "Yeeeah," said Clover, "But at least they're the latest most expensive Mary-Sue brand, so it looks all right."
While they chatted on, Sam's eyes glanced up, Zurosu walking their direction, carrying a load of books and papers, staring straight ahead blankly, apparently lost in thought. She probably wouldn't notice if she were about to trip over something...
So she stuck her foot out as the small girl passed, and as expected, she tripped and fell forward. She then snickered to herself as she expected Zurosu to fall on her face and completely embarrass herself.
Zurosu, who had her mind stuck on the upcoming Tenkaichi Budokai, didn't expect to trip over something and was caught off guard as she fell forward, just barely managing to catch herself with her ki before she could hit the floor and drop the books and papers she was carrying. She sighed a breath of relief, glad she didn't land on her pretty little face.
"Excuse me..."
Zurosu blinked and looked up, coming face to face with someone's crotch area. Shocked and embarrassed, she yelped out, jumped backwards, and ended up falling to the ground on her butt, her books and papers spilling everywhere.
"Are you okay?"
Zurosu looked up at the person, and immediately did her cheeks go red. Of all the boys she had to stare down the barrel of a crotch of, it had to be the most popular and cutest boy in the school, Devil Satan. She tried to apologize, but as she opened her mouth, all she could make was garbled stuttering, causing her to blush even more.
Devil raised an eyebrow at her. "Okay, you mind telling me what that was all about?" he asked, "I know practically every girl in school is crazy about me, but I've never seen anyone stoop as low as you..."
Zurosu waved her hands wildly. "Oh no no!" she exclaimed, "I tripped over something, then I caught myself!" She quickly began scooping together her papers in one large pile, "Really! I'm not that kinda girl!!"
Sam was hearing all the commotion, assuming Zurosu was making a fool of herself as usual, and turned to see the show... and was taken back at the sight of her with Devil Satan.
Devil bent down and helped Zurosu collect her things, picked up her books, and shoved them back into her arms as she got back to her feet. "Yeah, okay, just be more careful next time," he said as he continued on his way, walking past the three girls without the very least acknowledging them. But they were too busy being stupefied over Zurosu getting to talk to him.
Clover finally got her senses together and stormed up to Zurosu. "All right, scrub!!" she growled, "Who do you think you are hitting on MY Devil??"
"YOUR Devil??" Sam shouted, rushing up, "What do you mean?? Devil's MY guy!!"
"I wanna date Devil..." Alex dumbly intervened.
But their badgering fell upon deaf ears. Zurosu was too busy staring haphazardly into space, blushing, and giving a dreamy smile. "I... touched him," she sighed, "And I talked to him!" She grinned, and skipped off, prancing down the hallway, singing. "I talked to Deviiil Saaataaan!! Meeeee! Lalala..."
The girls watched her go off, their faces anything but happy. "Ugh!" Sam chivvied, "That girl should know better than to trespass on our property!"
"Totally!" said Clover, "If she thinks she has a chance with Devil, we should teach her a little lesson."
Sam looked over on the wall, noticing one of the many posters hanging, advertising the Spring Fling. A devilish smirk formed across her face. "I think I have an idea..."

During lunchtime, Zurosu walked out of the lunch line, her tray filled with stacks of all sorts of food enough to fill up a room filled with kids, which was her daily lunchtime intake. She walked past a table, where Devil was sitting, stopping for a moment and smiling at him. Devil, however, continued to eat his lunch as if she wasn't even there. She sighed, and continued on. 'I should know better than to think I actually stand a chance with him....' she thought.
Devil, finished with his lunch, rose up and carried his tray to the trashcan, which had a certain shorthaired blonde standing close by. "Hi!" she chirped, "You're Devil, right?"
"Yeah...?"
Clover clasped her hands and twisted her arms in an innocent matter. "I was wondering if you'd like to take me to the Spring Fling?"
Devil's eyebrows knitted, "You know how many girls asked me already? No thanks..."
"Wait, wait!" Clover jumped in front of him before he could walk off, "You have to understand! I'm like.... socially unpopular! All I want is one date with the most cutest, nicest, coolest boy in school!"
"Thank you..." Devil stepped to the side, walking around her, "But you'll have to make do."
"WAIT!" Clover cried. Devil turned to face her, both annoyed and impatient. Clover worked up some tears, and clasped her hands pathetically, "I'm also going away to boarding school! My parents are soooo embarrassed that I'm such a social retard, they're sending me far far away! All I ask is just one little date before I go. Please?"
Devil rolled his eyes and sighed. "I'll think about it...."
Clover's face brightened up, "Great! Here's my number if you decide to say yes!" She handed him a piece of paper, then pranced off, grinning.
"Wait a sec," Devil called, "What's your name?"
"Oh right," Clover turned and gave an evil smirk, "Zurosu Briefs."

Back at home, after school, it was time to train with Grandpa Vegeta. Zurosu searched through her room, which resembled that of a junkyard for her gi. She just got it for her birthday, how did she lose it already??
"Zurosu?" her mother lightly knocked on her door and peeked in, "You have a phone call, dear..."
Zurosu sighed. "Whoever it is, they'd better make it quick. If I don't get ready soon, Grandpa's going to chew my head off." She walked to the other side of her room and picked up the receiver of her phone. "Hello?"
"Is this Zurosu?"
"Yeah, who's this?"
"It's me, Devil."
Zurosu's eyes widened, and she lost her breath. Devil Satan calling her?! How'd he get her number?? Why is he even calling??
"Listen, I thought it over, and decided that I will take you to the Spring Fling. I guess I am going to have to go with some girl after all..."
Zurosu's entirely body shook. "M... me? Dance...?"
"I'll pick you up Friday night at seven. Be ready, okay? See you there."
"S.... see... you...."
The other line hung up. Zurosu was still standing there, still shocked and speechless at what just happened. Devil Satan asked her to the dance?? Of all the girls who threw themselves at him, he chose her?! Was it because she was one of the few that got to talk to him? Or was it because he thought she was being desperate when she nearly fell into his crotch?
Who cares?! She's going to the Spring Fling with Devil Satan!!!!
"EEEYAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Zurosu screamed in absolutely delight as she shot out of her room and bounced downstairs, catching her father and jumping on top of him while swinging around.
"Z... Zu, are you okay??" Trunks asked, "I heard you scream and was about to come up and check on you!"
Zurosu looked up at him with a whimsical smile. "Ohhh Daaaddyyyy....!"
Trunks frowned. "You must want something..." he said, "You never call me 'Daddy' otherwise."
Zurosu grinned and held out her hand. "Your credit card please?" she chimed, "I've gotta get a cool dress for the dance!"
"A dress?!" the gruff voice of her grandfather growled as he stormed in, "I come to see why you aren't in the gravity room yet, and it's because you want to buy a stupid dress?!"
"This is more important than training, Grandpa!" Zurosu cried, "This is the Spring Fling! And I was invited to go by the most popular and coolest boy in school!"
Vegeta sneered. "Your stupid school status is more important than keeping your strength up? What has this generation gotten in to...?"
"Just this once, okay Grandpa?" Zurosu smiled as she took Trunks' credit card and pranced off. "Mom! Grandma!! Come on, we're going dress shopping!!"
Vegeta and Trunks watched her dance away. "I blame you," said Vegeta, "You're too soft on the girl."
Trunks eyed him oddly, "We'll, we ALL aren't vicious evil bastards..."

Zurosu was just as happy at school as she was at home as she happily pranced around the school halls singing to herself, ignoring the odd stares she was receiving from her fellow classmates.
"Gosh, Zurosu," Clover called over as Zurosu skipped by her and Sam, "You sure seem to be in a good mood. What's the 411?"
The quarter-saiyan twirled on her toes and faced the girls. "Let's just say that something happened to me, that hasn't even happened to you so... PLHH!!" She pulled her eyelid down, stuck her tongue out, and continued off, refusing to let anything spoil her perfect mood.
Sam and Clover only grinned at each other as Zurosu turned a corner. Apparently, everything was going to plan.
"Hey you guys!" Alex came running up to the two, waving them down. "I found out where Devil's at. He's in the boy's bathroom!"
The other two looked at her funny. "And... you would know this, how?"

Devil had just walked out of the bathroom to find Clover waiting by the doorway, "Hey Devil!"
Devil jumped back, "Gah! How long have you been standing there...?"
"Ohhhh I just happened to be passing by," Clover smirked, "Soooo.... just to be sure, you're taking me to the dance tonight, right?"
Devil raised an eyebrow. "Yes."
"Okay cool!" Clover grinned, "Okay, again to make sure, what time again?"
"Seven...."
"Kay, thanks!" Clover waved and hurried off, "See you tonight!!"

The evening finally arrived. Trunks and Giru waited in the living room with a bored Kumo slumped on the couch, while Zurosu readied herself up in her room with the help of Bulma, Icalla, Pan, and Mizu.
"I really wish women wouldn't take so long to get ready," Trunks sighed while adjusting the settings to his camera, "I really need to get back to my work, or else I'll have double the load tomorrow morning..."
"I'd rather be working than sitting here all night," Kumo groaned, "Pan only forced me to come along because she said something about needing a 'male's opinion' who isn't a relative, or something."
"She's reeaadyyy!" Bulma's voice called from down the hall. Trunks and Giru jumped to their feet and began snapping pictures as Zurosu walked in, with her hair neatly styled in a bun and wearing a strapless, sparkling, knee-length bluish-green dress.
"Aaaww!!" Giru chirped, "Zurosu so beautiful! Giru wanna cry! -GIRU-"
"It took awhile, but we finally got her face to look its most best," Bulma announced proudly and she, Icalla, and Pan entered.
"And I helped do her nails!" Mizu chimed, pointing at Zurosu's fingernails, "Aren't they pretty?"
Trunks smiled. "You never looked more beautiful, princess."
Zurosu blushed slightly, then turned to the bored boy sitting on the couch. "Well, Kumo, tell me what you think?"
"You're in a dress," Kumo replied without even looking up at the least, "What else do you need to know?"
Zurosu fumed and leaned in towards his face. "You're just jealous because you can never get a girl as cute as me!"
Kumo's eyebrow twitched. "Give me a break. I hate these kinds of events. They're just a bunch of lousy popularity contests."
Zurosu folded her arms and turned away. "I'm not going to let your bad attitude ruin my night!" she seethed, "I've got too much of a good thing going on here..." She glanced over at the clock on the wall and gasped, "Oh my gosh! It's almost seven! Devil will be here any minute now! Ohhh I can't wait!!"

Meanwhile, a block away, Sam and Alex were just dropping off the overly dressed Clover on the corner of the street. "Okay, Clover, remember what to do," said Sam.
"Totally," Clover snobbishly responded, "This was so my idea, remember?"
Sam rolled her eyes. "Look, just don't get too fresh with him, all right? Remember, he's supposed to be my boyfriend."
"As if!"
"Whatever!" Sam took off down the street. Once her car was gone, another was just coming down the road. Clover quickly fixed her hair a little just before Devil drove by, and waved him down. "Devil, over here!"
The car pulled up next to her, and Devil leaned over. "What are you doing out here?" he asked.
"Ohhh, uh, well, my parents are having some big issue, or something, so it's much safer to leave from here."
Devil sighed and leaned back into his seat. "Okay, whatever, just come on..."
Clover grinned ear to ear as she stepped into Devil's car, and the two drove off to the dance.

Kumo and Mizu had fallen asleep on the couch, leaning off the sides, drool running down the sides of their mouths. They apparently got tired of waiting for Zurosu's date to come.
"Where IS he?!" Zurosu growled, watching the clock as the minute hand just passed the 4, "He's twenty minutes late!"
Bulma assuringly squeezed her granddaughter's shoulders. "Don't worry, sweetheart," she said, "Maybe something happened. Perhaps car trouble?"
"For his sake, he'd better die in a car accident!" Zurosu shouted, "'Cause if that's not the case, I'M gonna kill him!"
"I'm sorry Zu," said Trunks as he handed her his camera and walked out, "But whatever the reason, I can't stay another minute. I've got to get back to work..."
Zurosu sighed and tossed the camera on the couch, jolting Kumo awake. "I think I know what happened... I'm being stood up!" She then glared up violently and stormed out of the room.
"Zu, where are you going?" Pan asked as the women followed her out.
"I am NOT gonna let this ruin my night! I'm going to that dance, date or no date!" Zurosu marched outside, flared her ki below her feet, and took off into the sky towards her school.
Icalla sighed sadly as she watched her daughter go, just as Kumo approached, holding a sleepy Mizu in his left arm. "This is not good...."
"What isn't?" Kumo asked.
"Zurosu should have stayed home," she responded, "Ah think is just someone's idea of a cruel prank."
"Prank?"
Icalla nodded. "Hon, Zurosu isn't exactly the most populah girl at school. She often comes home in teahs. I dunno why they do this, but there's a lot of girls who enjoy makin' her as miserable as possible..."
Kumo was taken back alittle, then stared to the ground in shame. "I... I didn't know that." He then glared upwards, "Well then! I'll just make sure Zurosu's night isn't ruined!"

"Hold it!!" Zurosu shouted to the security guard before he could lock the front doors, "I'm here! I made it!"
The guard jumped back in fright. Where did THAT girl come from?? It's almost as if she dropped from the sky! He just dumbly sat there holding the door open as she walked by. Once she was gone, he shook his head to clear his senses and was about to lock the door when somebody else shouted, "Hold on a second!"
Where were these kids coming from???
Meanwhile, Zurosu made her way through the decorated hallways and into the large recreation hall, which was packed with students, mainly couples, talking amongst themselves and making dorky attempts to dance, but the most of everything consisted of, "Can you believe that those two came together? They almost do make the perfect match."
"Devil?" Zurosu called over the enormous crowd, but with no luck. She really began to hope she was wrong about him dying in a car accident.
"Hey, if yer lookin' for Devil, he's over there," a blonde pointed across the hall. Zurosu leaned over, and finally caught sight of Devil at the refreshment table, pouring punch into a couple of cups.
"There you are!" she cried, "Hey Dev--"
She froze in fear when she saw Devil take one of the cups and hand it over to, who else, but Clover. "Here you go..."
Clover smiled evilly, "Thanks, sweetheart!"
Zurosu just stared, mouth wide-open. What was Devil doing with Clover? Who does that slut think she is stealing her date?? More important, who does that jackass think he is standing her up, AND taking that slut instead??
"DEVIL!" she shouted as she shoved people to the side and stormed up to the couple. Devil snapped his head over in shock, while Clover innocently glanced over. Not far off, Sam smirked. "Here it comes, Alex..."
"Devil, what IS this?!" Zurosu snapped, "What are you doing with HER?! I thought you said you were taking ME to the dance??"
Devil cocked an eyebrow. "Do I know you...?"
Clover sneered, "Sheesh, don't go Swimfan on the guy now..."
Zurosu blinked. "But... you called me, and said you would take me..."
"I don't even remember you..." Devil scratched the back of his head, "Wait, weren't you the girl who took a nosedive at my crotch?"
The crowd, which was closing in to listen closely, began erupting into laughter. Zurosu's cheeks went bright pink.
"Boy, talk about clingy!" Clover sniped, "Why don't you just go into a little crawlspace where you belong, runt?"
Everyone around her laughed while Zurosu helplessly looked around herself, her sight coming across Sam, who's cold smirk seemed to be telling her, "Next time, think twice before you think about going for our man..."
Hurt, humiliated, and on the verge of tears, Zurosu clamped her eyes, twisted around, and raced away, pushing people out of her way....
And slamming into a rock-hard chest.
"Hey, where're you going? The party's just starting!"
Zurosu blinked, and glanced upwards to see who she ran into. "Kumo??"
The boy gave a sheepish grin and chuckled. "Yeah... Your mom told me about your situation, so I thought I'd stop by and make sure your night wasn't ruined."
Zurosu blinked some more, completely astonished. "Wow... your hair's combed! AND you're in a tux!"
"Your dad had plenty to spare."
"Whoa, whoa, what is this??" Sam marched up to the couple, "You're not supposed to be happy! Who IS this guy?!"
Kumo glared at her. "I'm her date..."
Alex came wandering up to the group. "Zurosu, I didn't know you had a boyfriend! What about Devil?"
"Zurosu?!" Devil barked, turning to face the group.
Upon hearing her name, Zurosu turned to face him. "Yes?"
"Wait..." Devil looked from her, to Clover, then back, "Wait... if that's Zurosu... then who are you?!"
Clover started to sweat. "Well... uh... Zurosu happens to be a common name, y'know?"
"Wow, Clover!!" Alex cried, "I didn't know YOUR name was Zurosu too! No wonder you call yourself 'Clover'!"
"Clover?" Devil stared daggers at the blonde, "You don't mean the most popular, not to mention the most snobbish girl in school?"
"Hey, you should be considered LUCKY to be going out with me, pal!" Clover shouted.
"Not quite," Devil turned away from her, "I'm very picky with my girls. But I certainly don't like the girls who use me as a pawn for their pranks." He walked off and headed towards Zurosu.
"Wa, WAIT!" Clover cried, "Don't go! I'm not always snobby! I can also be a poor, victimized girl with a heart of gold if I wanna be!"
"Forget her!" Sam called, shoving Clover face first into the floor, "I had nothing to do with this, remember?? I didn't play any prank! I'LL be your date!!!"
"I wanna date you too, Devil!!!" Alex waved over.
But Devil ignored them and made his way to Zurosu and Kumo, taking the girl's hand. "Zurosu... the real one," he said, "I'd like to formally apologize for what happened. It wasn't my intention to hurt anybody's feelings. Let me make it up to you by giving you the first dance."
"Me?" Zurosu blinked, striking envy in all the girls in the all, "The first dance?" She looked up at Kumo, who shrugged.
"Go ahead, Zu," he told her, "It's your Spring Fling. It's your choice."
Zurosu smiled at him, then turned to Devil.... and stuck her tongue out at him. Devil nearly fell backwards, shocked. "I've already got a date, thank you," she said as she took Kumo by the arm and walked off.
Devil just sat there, watching dumbfounded. He was the most beloved boy of the entire school. Every girl wanted to be his girl.... this was the first time he was ever shot down by one. This girl was definitely different....
"Devil, I'LL dance with you!!"
"No, me!"
"Outta my way!!"
Before he knew it, he was tackled by 20 girls all at once, every one of them grabbing a part of his body and pulling, messing up his hair and ripping his tuxedo. "Ladies, ladies, PLEASE!!!"
"Sheeeeesh!" Kumo whistled, "That guy really is popular. I can see why you had the hots for him."
"Nevermind that," said Zurosu, "Come on, Kumo. Let's dance!"
"Sure. Oh, by the way...." Kumo's cheeks slightly went pink, "I might not have mentioned it earlier, but... you really do look nice in that dress."
The two traveled to the center of the recreation hall and began to slow dance to the song playing, being the only dancers as almost al the girls were all over Devil and all the guys were watching while fuming.
It was the perfect night.
