ooo“Six Years Later”
ooo
The morning started out like any other peaceful morning. It was a warm, beautiful day. People were exchanging warm greetings on the street, birds were chirping, parents were walking their young children to the bus stop... It could not have been a more perfect morning.ooo
But then... out of completely nowhere....
“OUT OF THE WAY!!!!”
The perfect moment was ruined by a teen boy riding through recklessly on his bicycle, with such speed it nearly blew people off of their feet and cars off their wheels, and even a few clothings ripping off the bodies of their owners.
“Man, I can’t believe I’m late for school again!!” Kumo panted as he pedaled through town faster and faster, whizzing by people in what seemed like the speed of light, “I told mom to wake me up, but she keeps forgetting! I’ve got to get that alarm clock of mine fixed! PARDON ME!!!” he cried as he made a sharp turn at an intersection, causing cars to screech to a halt and many fingers shooting out windows.
Of course, this wouldn’t be much of a problem for him had he woken up before the bell rung... AND if Orange Star High School wasn’t on the opposite side of Satan City.
Just as he poured on more speed, he glanced up in time to see a toddler boy on a big wheel squeak his way out of an alley. He turned his head and stopped on a dime as he noticed the speeding teen barrel right towards him.
“Look OUT!” Kumo cried as he grabbed his bike and in a last minute reaction, leaped into the air, taking the bike up with him. The toddler watched amazed as the teenager soared above his head while carrying that big bicycle of his... and didn’t land.
Kumo shrugged. “Well, since I’m up here anyway....” He pressed a button on the side of his bike, poofing it back into it’s capsule form. Then upon pocketing it, he took off in the direction of his school.
Meanwhile, all the way across the country in West City, a certain freshman teen girl was able to feel Kumo’s ki slightly rise. “No way!” she cried.
Bulma stood upwards just as she was about to enter her car. “What? What is it, hon?”
“Kumo’s flying!”
“You can tell?”
“Of course I can...” Zurosu’s face suddenly scrunched up, “Damn it!! That jerk!! Why does HE get to fly to school and I’m stuck having to be driven by my grandmother?! Screw this!” She hoisted her schoolbag and marched off ready to take to the sky.
“Hold it, young lady!”
Zurosu froze at Trunks’ voice, cringing. She slowly turned around, “Yes, Dad...?”
Trunks was leaning against the Capsule Corp limo that took him to his office every morning. “Remember that little chat we had about flying in public? You know I don’t want you doing that, unless you WANT to get harassed by UFO fanatics?”
Zurosu pouted, “Aw, but KUMO gets to fly to school!” she screeched.
Trunks gave his daughter that serious, dead on stare he knew she hated. “What Goten lets Kumo do is not my purgative,” he said, “What is is making sure you do what I say, or else I ground you! Got it?”
Zurosu groaned, then drug herself over to Bulma’s car, where her grandmother sat waiting. “Yes sir...”
The school bell gonged as the security guard closed the gates of Orange Star High and locked it. “Welp, no more kids left,” he muttered to himself as he locked it, “Anyone else comes in, they’re just gonna be late...”
He turned around, and shrieked at the site of a student standing before him. He could have sworn nobody was there a moment ago.
Kumo looked at his watch. “Made it!” he sighed, “Now to get to class before role call...” Before he could take a step, his cell phone began going off. He raised an eyebrow. “Who could be calling me at this time of day?” he wondered as he fished it out and put it to his ear, “Hello...?”
“YOU CHEATING, FLYING JERK!!!!!”
Kumo held the phone away as Zurosu screamed on the other end.
“You KNOW I’m not allowed to fly to school, what right do YOU have flying yourself?! You know the rule, if I can’t fly, neither can you!!! Why should I have to suffer?!”
“Zurosu, go to school...” Kumo muttered as he hung up.
“Ooooo the nerve of that guy!!!” Zurosu snarled, shoving her phone back into her backpack and looking up where they were. “Whoa, okay, Grandma, that’s far enough... you know the deal.”
Bulma sighed as she pulled over to the curb. “Really, Zurosu,” she sighed, “I don’t see what’s so wrong about me dropping you off in front of your school? Why do I have to stop a block away?”
“Grandma, really!” said Zurosu, “YOU were in high school once! Everyone knows all the cool kids drive themselves to school... Having to be dropped off by your parents is considered totally uncool.... Having your grandparents do it is MUCH worse...”
“Sheesh, I didn’t have it THAT hard when I was in high school.”
“Things have changed,” said Zurosu, grabbing her bag and exited the car, “See you after school, Grandma! Remember, same spot!!”
“Have a good day, dear...” Bulma muttered, knowing Zurosu wouldn’t hear her as she raced away towards West High.
It didn’t take long at all for Zurosu to reach the school building. Being the strongest female on Earth meant also being fast on her feet. The school authorities hadn’t even let the students inside yet, so everyone was waiting outside the doors, talking among themselves. Zurosu kept her head low as she passed three sophomore girls, who’s faces were overdone with make-up and wearing the latest fashions that were so up to date, that they weren’t even scheduled to be popular until next week.
One of the girls, a shorthaired blonde, noticed Zurosu walking by and cut the conversation short. “Hey shrimp boat!” she cried over to the quarter-saiyan female, “Don’t you know that outfit is, like, a crime against nature?”
Zurosu sneered, “Yeah, and so is your face!”
One of the other girls, who was dark-skinned and had short black hair, snickered, but the third girl, a redhead whose hair went past her hips, smacked her in the side.
“Ugh!” the blonde grimaced, “You think you’re sooo cool, but at least our grandmothers don’t drive us to school!”
“What are you talking about??”
At that, Bulma drove by, honking her horn and waving out the window. “Have a good day, dear! Incase you didn’t hear me before!” she called out.
The three girls snickered. Zurosu’s face turned bright red as she laughed nervously. “Hoo boy... I feel bad for whoever that woman’s grandkid is.”
It was basically like that all day for Zurosu.... in fact, it was like that all year. Though she tried, Zurosu wasn’t exactly the most popular girl at school. She was worried that it may have something to do with the fact she was only three-fourths human, despite only her family knew of her alien heritage. It also may had something to do with the fact that she was a thirteen-year old trapped in a 9-year old’s body... a slightly over bulked nine-year-old that is. Whatever the reason, she certainly was favorite fodder to the three sophomore girls Clover, Sam, and Alex.
Clover was a supermodel-thin girl who took a shine to blue eye shadow, and lots of it. Practically every boy would fall at her feet and bend over backwards to complete any whimsical desire she asked for. Sam would have been considered the second most popular girl in school. As beautiful and loved as she was, she also had a brain to fall back on, which was good news for her two friends. Alex was only considered popular, guilty by association. If it weren’t for Zurosu, kids would have certainly picked on her instead. She only knew about make-up and fashion due to the teachings of Clover and Sam, but as for brains, she had just as much wit as a piece of lint.
Things didn’t calm down until study hall, which Zurosu could hide out in the Learning Center Hall and study. The trio on the other hand preferred to spend their study hall hour lounging around outside classrooms and gossiping. Today they happened to be hanging by the Learning Center Hall, leaning against the 4th floor balcony.
“Ohhh migawd,” said Clover, sitting on top of the balcony rail, “Did you see the sweater Bethany was wearing with those pants?”
“I saw!” chirped Sam, “Hello, that’s like, a total fashion crime! She should know better than to wear cashmere with jeans. It’s like, duh!”
“I know, I was like, sooo embarrassed just sitting next to her!”
“At least she wasn’t naked,” said Alex.
“Puh-LEASE!” said Clover, “If you’ve GOT to wear clothes, at least wear something that doesn’t clash! It’s like, common sense! You have to be missing half a brain to--”
“GASP!” Sam bolted upright, “Look!”
The girls turned to see a certain junior boy, walking down the hall, shoulders back, great posture, serious look on his face as he stared ahead.
“Deviiil Saaataaaan!” they all sighed dreamily as he walked on, not even giving them a single acknowledgement. As he was walking by, the girls did what they could to get him to look their way.
“Hi Devil!” Alex chirped, waving wildly.
Clover and Sam had more style and leaned backwards while giving Devil sexy smiles and suggestive postures. Clover, who was sitting on top of the balcony rail, didn’t have much room to lean back on, but unfortunately didn’t realize this until she leaned back to far and fell backwards to the hall below.
Everyone looked up in horror once they heard the screaming voice of the girl falling from the 4th floor balcony. Students scrambled out of the way before she could land on any of them. Zurosu, however, jumped onto the table she was studying on, jumped forward, and caught Clover before she could hit the ground.
Clover shuddered in fear and nestled into Zurosu’s chest. “Are you okay, Clover...?” the quarter-saiyan asked timidly.
Clover stopped shuddering, opened one eye to see her savior, and immediately shoved her away. “EW! Nerd germs!!” Few of the students who were stunned had now begun snickering at the comment.
Zurosu blinked, astonished, then scowled. “Nice way of showing your thanks!”
“Puh-LEEZE!” Clover wiped her clothes off of the ‘nerd germs’, “Why would I wanna be saved by a dumb little scrub like you when I could have been rescued by super cute hunk? I mean, what’s wrong with you?!”
“What’s wrong with me?! What’s wrong with YOU!?” Zurosu shouted, “Would you rather your spine was smashed into pieces upon impact??”
A boy rushed up, nudging Zurosu out of the way. “Are you okay, Clover??”
Clover inspected the boy with her eyes. He was no super hunk, but at least he wasn’t a lame looking nerd. “Fine,” she sighed, “I guess you’ll do for now...” She grabbed him and held him close, “I was sooo scared! You’ll protect me, right??”
The boy drooled with hearts in his eyes, “Darrrhhhh.....!!!” The two walked off as everyone awed at them, while Zurosu groaned and hung her head.
All was peaceful at the Son residences. Butterflies flapped excitedly over the grassy yards, as young Mizu Masako jumped up and tried to clap one in her hands, only to have them scatter off. She chased after them, trying once more to grab one, but it was just too quick for her. It flew down to a bush and rested on a twig. Mizu slowly moved in, carefully stalking it, then jumping at it, only to crash face first in the bush as the butterfly took off into the sky. She thrashed and kicked around trying to get out, all while the butterfly floated down and landed on her tail.
“So let me get this straight,” said Pan, as she took a sip of her ice tea, “You save the girl’s life and she thanks you by calling you a nerd?”
“Noo,” Zurosu sneered, “by saying I had nerd germs, which is basically worse because not only am I a nerd, but I’m also contagious!”
“Your school sounds really rough...”
“It is...” Zurosu pulled her legs up on the chair she was sitting in and wrapped her arms around them, “It seems like no matter what I do, I get teased and berated for it. Am I just not that likable?”
“Come on, Zurosu, don’t say that,” Pan smiled, “Those kids don’t know what they’re missing. Just remember that no matter what, you’ll always have friends here who love you. Especially Mizu...” she noted towards the little girl approaching the two while pulling twigs out of her hair.
Pan set aside her ice tea, walked over to her daughter and helped her pull twigs out. “So Zurosu, why don’t you stay over for dinner?”
Zurosu waved her hand, “Oh no, I don’t wanna impose. I already dropped by unexpectedly as it is...”
“Come on, Zu,” Pan looked up at her “little sister” and smiled, “You know you’re always welcome here. Besides, Akira’s cooking! Don’t want to miss that!”
“Delivery...” Zurosu muttered as Akira opened the pizza boxes, “Is this a special delicacy?”
“No, it’s my backup dinner,” Akira chuckled nervously, “AFTER burning the delicacy to a crisp...”
“Hey as long as it has all the toppings, I’m happy!” Zurosu grabbed the first slice.
Mizu grabbed a slice for herself. “Hey Zurosu,” she asked with a mouth full of pizza, “Are ya gonna enter the Tenkuchi Budakye?”
“That’s Tenkaichi Budokai, honey,” Pan corrected.
Zurosu shrugged. “I’m not sure. I’ve been thinking about it,” she answered.
“I’m gonna enter!” Mizu cheered, “Kumo and I spar after school everyday. You’ll help me train too, right?”
Zurosu smiled. “I’ll ask my grandma if she can spare a gravity chamber,” she responded, “But it really isn’t as much fun since there aren’t as many people as strong as us.”
“Well, we’re all entering too,” said Pan, “Maybe we can try and get the whole gang together and compete.”
The next day, Kumo and Mizu were doing just as Mizu said they did after school, spar with one another. They exchanged kicks, punches, and blocks back and forth for awhile until they felt a ki approaching them in the sky. They turned their heads up to see.
“It’s Zu!” Mizu cheered, “She made it!”
“About time,” Kumo scratched the back of his head. Suddenly, he was kicked from behind. “HEY!”
Mizu giggled, “You weren’t payin’ attention!”
The brunette quarter-saiyan touched ground in front of the two. “Hey guys. Sorry I’m late. Grandma was hesitant giving away one of these.” She held out a capsule, “She says we tend to wreck them...”
“Nice gi,” Mizu smiled, “Blue brings out your eyes!”
“Thanks. I got it for my birthday. My old one that used to be my dad’s was starting to get too tight on me.”
“I don’t see why,” Kumo smirked, “You never grow.”
Zurosu gave him the evil eye, “Don’t think I’m going to let that comment slide...” She clicked the capsule and tossed it to a plain, grassy area, and it exploded upon impact into a large chamber.
The three entered inside and walked up to a control panel, where Zurosu began messing with some of the controls. “Let’s not push Mizu too hard,” she said, “She’s never been in one of these before. What do you say 200 Gs?”
“Man, that low?” Kumo sighed.
Mizu pouted. “I can do just as much as you guys!”
“I dunno,” Kumo casually placed his hands behind his head, “Zu and I can do well over 500 Gs. You don’t wanna overdo it....”
“Try me!”
“Okaaay...” Zurosu twisted a knob on the control panel. Immediately the three began to feel an enormous weight upon themselves. Mizu’s legs wobbled like Jell-O, trying to stay up, but it wasn’t long before she collapsed on her butt. She struggled to stand back to her feet, but only succeeded falling flat on her back.
Zurosu turned the knob back to normal gravity. “Yeeeeah,” said Kumo, pulling the little girl back to her feet, “Why don’t you just sit out for awhile and watch how we do it?” Mizu pouted once more, but nodded and walked out of the chamber, approaching the window and looking through.
Kumo and Zurosu, meanwhile, dropped into their stances. “Ready?” Zurosu smirked.
“Whenever you are...”
FWOOSH!
Zurosu suddenly launched at Kumo, slamming fists at every inch of his body. “WAITAMINUTE!” Kumo cried, “That was too quick! I wasn’t ready!!”
Zurosu didn’t stop however as she continued to go at the boy, throwing her fists and feet in every attack as Kumo jumped backwards and blocked every blow as best as he could. Finally, he decided he wasn’t going to be beaten that quickly and went in, evading Zurosu’s fist and slamming his own into her gut, which sent her flying across the room and crashing into the wall. She managed to pull herself out and leap to the other side before Kumo could jump in and swift-kick her. He twisted around and grabbed her arms before she could use them to attack. She tried kneeing him, but he could read her moves and block every kneecap with his own. Finally, they pushed against each other and stared each other down in an ultimate power struggle.
“C’mon, Zu...” Kumo grinned, his fists shaking as they pushed against Zurosu’s, “Give it up... I’m older, and stronger! You can’t win!”
Zurosu didn’t look discouraged and merely returned the grin. “Oh I’m not beat yet,” she sneered, “I’ve still got one trick up my sleeve!” She pulled back, took in a deep breath, and let out a scream as a golden aura surrounded her, her hair rose up, and she suddenly became a blonde. Kumo’s eyes widened at the sight of the female super saiyan, then cringed in pain as his fists were suddenly being crushed. Zurosu then pulled him forward and swift-kicked him to the floor. As he began climbing back to his feet, Zurosu did the ultimate insult... She kicked his butt, literally. “I win!”
Kumo angrily got to his knees and rubbed his bottom. “No fair!” he cried, “Cheater!! You know I can’t go super saiyan!!”
Zurosu smirked once more. “It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, Kumo,” she said, “Like Grandpa always says, if you can’t take the heat, then keel over and die.”
Zurosu lightened the gravity so that Mizu could enter. “Hey Kumo!” she called, “I saw the whole thing! You said you were older and stronger than Zurosu.... so how come you can’t go Super Saiyan??”
Kumo crossed his arms and fumed. “I don’t know, Mizu, I just didn’t reach it yet, I guess...” He glared at Zurosu, “We all don’t have demented grandfathers for trainers...”
Zurosu sneered. “Jealous. I can’t help it if you’re a weak moron!”
Kumo glared coldly at her. “What was that...!?”
“Come on, really!” Zurosu closed her eyes and looked too sure of herself, “The ‘big strong man’ can’t even hit a super saiyan!, whereas a cute young girl like me can do it in a snap!”
Kumo gritted his teeth, “Take that BACK!”
“What’s wrong, Kumo?” Zurosu smirked, placing her hands on his hips, “I’m not making you angry am I? Aww, poor Kumooo! What’cha gonna do? Turn super saiyan and beat the stuffing out of me?” She narrowed her eyes and her smirk widened, “I’d like to see you try!”
“SHUT UP!!!” Kumo screamed as he slammed his fist dead on into her face, knocking her through the wall, far across the backyard outside and slamming into a tree and reducing it to splinters. Kumo and Mizu cringed. “Ooops... might’ve overdone it....”
The two raced out over to where Zurosu landed. “Zooey!” Mizu cried, helping the now detransformed quarter-saiyan back to her feet, “Are you all right?”
“Nice going, Kumo!” she snapped at the teen boy, “Now Grandma’s gonna kill me for putting a hole in the chamber!!”
Kumo’s eyebrows knitted, “Well you pissed me off!”
“Idiot, that’s the idea!” she cried, “Transformation is first triggered by pure rage. It’s what Grandpa taught me. He was rough enough one day to push me over the edge. You can do it too, Kumo.” She rubbed her now-bruised face, “You’ve got the power, that’s for sure... You just need some sort of outlet.”
“Well, I can always pound on you and Mizu, right?”
“No way!” Mizu raised his fists and jumped up and down, “I’m gonna pound on YOU, Kumo! I’m gonna train real hard so that one day, I can be a super saiyan too! Who knows? I might be as strong as great-grampa Goku, you think?”
Kumo’s smile faded, glanced downwards, then sighed. “Yeah.... Maybe....”
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
A/N : Terribly sorry for the possible Mary-Sue-ness in this chapter. These sort of ideas (Zurosu being driven to school by Bulma, her being teased by the girls, and her comforting by Pan, who is her surrogate big sister) have been hanging in my mind ever since I first starting thinking of storylines for XG. I could finally pass them off as filler.... boring, stupid, pointless filler....
I apologize. Really I do.... Zurosu is my most likely Mary-Sue out of all my characters. It’s gonna be another stupid chapter of this stupid shit, so if you hated this chapter, you’ll hate the next.... Wait till we get to the next Tenkaichi Budokai. THEN things will finally get interesting...
Finally, yes, the three girls Clover, Sam, and Alex WERE inspired by the characters on that wanna-be anime, “Totally Spies!” They perfectly fit the roles of the overly-fashioned mean girls. And no, they are not secret spies in this story… just school bullies.
