Just a little reminder this chapter takes place some years later. In case you are trying to guess her age (I was trying to decide in the earlier chapters) she is ten in this chapter. She was four in the first 4 chapters. On with the story
Chapter 5
The insistent buzzing of an alarm was coming from inside of a room that was decorated for a child. There was a white dresser in one corner covered with various stuffed animals. The largest, that of some lizard, sat prominently in the center. Off to the side, were a row of shelves, crammed with electronic gadgets, books, and more stuffed toys. One place of the room that would catch the eye of anyone peaking into the room, was a large, wide screen television with surround stereo.
The entertainment system would be the envy of anyone who a serious TV fan. For all its great glory, there was a coat of dust upon that fabulous piece that would make any serious fan weep.
There was a nice, wide double bed along one wall with a canopy over the top that matched the bedspread. Pictured upon the bedspread was the scene of leaping frogs on their lily pads. Beside the bed, on the little nightstand next to the lamp of embracing frogs, was a Kermit the Frog alarm.
The alarm had been going off for sometime. Beneath the covers, a figure started to stir. An arm reached out to finally, shut the irritating noise off. Silence reined once again in the room. A contented sigh, the shape buried itself deeper beneath the covers.
The minutes ticked by and the sun began to creep up to peak into the window. A ray snuck into the room to shine down upon the coverlet of leaping frogs. Blissfully, the figure slept.
A name was bellowed across the grounds. The covers were whipped aside hurriedly. A quick glance at the clock, a groan of horror. Late again! Grandfather will be pacing the floor impatiently.
Teancha jumped out of bed to scramble into her green gi. She stomped into her boots as she sped out of her room.
Bura was standing at the door to her room rubbing sleepy eyes. She was six and looked very much like her mother, Bulma.
" Why's daddy shouting, Aunt Chea?"
Tean paused in her mad dash to reassure the younger girl who looked so cute in her yellow pj's. " Papa 'Gita wants me to train with him this morning. I sort of forgot and he's reminding me."
" Oh, that's why he's yelling," her blue eyes returned her gaze with such innocents. Teancha hugged the younger girl impulsively. This little one had a way of melting even the most strongest of hearts.
" Go back to bed," she gently pushed the child back into her room.
" That's the third time this week," Trunks smirked from his doorway, " Bet you're grounded for a whole month this time."
She glared at her older relative while sending a low ki after him. It was one of her better tricks and there were few defenses against it. She chuckled evilly when Trunks jumped in surprise. She had gotten him in the seat of his pants. She was already half way down the stairs when he sent a low level volley of ki chasing after her. She easily ducked aside then heard a very loud commotion in the livingroom followed by a surprised scream.
" Trunks!" the name riveted off the walls, " How many times have I told you no power displays in this house," Bulma sounded very irritated.
" Mom, it was an accident," he was quick to defend himself.
" Well, that little accident just cost you. You are grounded for two weeks and that includes the play station."
" What!" He had just gotten a new game the day before and was dying to play it with Goten. Now, he would have to wait two weeks. An eternity, in his mind. " It's all Tean's fault. She provoked me," he protested.
" Yours was the only ki blast that I saw buster," she was firm, " Now, get dressed and come down here and clean up this mess you created."
" I should have stayed in bed," he grumbled as he went back into his room to change.
No matter what he did, he could never pull one over on Teancha. She was just too quick, armed with a variety of trick in her arsenal. He was not jealous of the girl that his father had decided to take under his wing. She had been so shy and withdrawn when she first came to live with them that he had felt protective towards her.
When she had been drawn from her shell, he and Goten had discovered a playmate to share their adventures with. She was not like any of the other girls he knew. His mother had tried countless times to get her to wear a dress. The dresses always ended up getting lost or acquiring holes in them.
His mother would put her in a dress and moment her back was turned, Teancha would be wearing her old clothes again. Bulma had given up when it became very obvious that Teancha hated dresses. The one color she hated above all others was pink. She would blast any article of clothing that color the moment she saw it in her closet.
His mother had not always approved of Teancha's presence. She had been very miffed at her husband for bringing home the child. She had thought the child was from some affair outside their marriage. His parents had had that infamous meeting. He never quite understood what was said or done during that time. Whatever had taken place changed his mother's viewpoint on the girl.
Instead of treating the newcomer like a stranger, his mother had done a complete reversal. She had done everything in her power to make the girl welcome. She treated the newcomer as if she were one of the family.

" Teancha, this is the third time this week that you have been late to our practice session. Mind telling me what is going on?" Vegita faced her with crossed arms waiting with stern expression.
She stood there shifting her weight uncomfortably, " I have been having nightmares lately. I keep seeing these people disappearing beneath a pile of rubble. I'm just standing there, then this giant rock falls on them."
She tried to read his expression but he was closed to her. Sometimes, she could read what he was thinking in his eyes. Today, they were closely guarded.
" What can this dream mean?" She looked in askance at him.
He had been dreading this day when her memories would return. She was growing to resemble his son in some aspects. A blood test, done at the insistence of his wife had revealed that she was Trunk's granddaughter. The results had floored his wife and he was forced to tell her part of the girl's story.
" Why didn't you just tell me," she had demanded irritated that he had hidden these facts from her. She had taken it better than he thought she would.
Now, he could not lie to his grandchild, " They are memories returning. Remember when I told you what happened to your parents?"
She nodded.
" The memories will be painful, but you mist face them. Confront them head on, and do not allow them to overwhelm you. Fight your fears. Never allow them to control you. There is no room for weakness when confronting an adversary. A weakness can be used against you giving your opponent the advantage.
" Because you were late this morning. Again," he emphasized the word, " We will spend an extra two hours training."
" Uhn...I was suppose to go with Aunt Videl and Uncle Gohan later this afternoon--"
" Then, next time be on time. When I say training starts at 6am, it starts at 6am. You won't be able to go anyway. You're grounded for the next week."
She sighed heavily, " Grounded again. I must hold the old time record," she followed him into the gravity room throwing her towel and bottled water aside.

Later that day, Teancha was talking to Videl on the vid-phone.
" I won't be able to go, after all," she made a wry face, " Looks like I'm grounded again."
Videl looked a little confused, " Didn't you just come off restriction last week?"
She put her elbow on the table and propped up her chin, " Yep, and I'm back on again. Doesn't matter anyway, Trunks is grounded for two weeks," she wore a smug little smirk, " And he can't touch his playstation for the whole time either."
" Between the two of you someone will be serving out a life sentence," Gohan joked then yelped when his wife elbowed him sharply in the side.
Teancha was not amused by his observation.
" How long is it this time?"
" A week," she shrugged, " Last time it was for an entire month."
" Why were you on restriction last time?"
She squirmed a little. She looked around to make sure there was no one else in the room. She felt no other ki near so felt safe. " It involved the hair incident. I switched his shampoo with something else that had a temporary hair dye in it. His hair came out a flaming, neon orange. I actually thought that he was going to kill Goten and Trunks when he caught sight of what had been done to his hair in the mirror."
Gohan was shaking with laugher and Videl was little better as she asked, " How did he ever discover that it was you?"
She gave them a grin of triumph, " He never did figure out who did it. Instead, we all got grounded and Goten was forbidden to come here for awhile."
" Ouch, so he assumed everyone was guilty."
Teancha chuckled, " Goten and Trunks have pulled some fast ones in the past."
" And you are no innocent angel," Gohan replied wearing an amused smile.
" I never claimed to be painted in glowing white. I'm just more clever and never get caught in the act," she wore a superior smile, " They are always getting caught for pulling stupid stunts."
She said her good-byes to the Sons and hung up humming to herself. She walked out of the foyer to find her grandfather standing there with crossed arms.
Her emerald eyes grew a little large.
He allowed her to pass him by, " Teancha," she halted turning back around to face him.
" Yes, grandfather," she asked with a sick feeling in her stomach?
" Let's go somewhere private to discuss that hair incident from last month. Then we can talk about the exploding shaving can that happened a few months ago. Then there is that little thing about honey in my shoes. Along with a few other things that have been happening lately."
She slumped her shoulder, "Yes, grandfather."
This concludes part 5 next time Teancha is still having nightmares and travels to the Sky Palace to have a talk with Dende...Who is the mysterious stranger who is trying to kill off the Sayian bloodline. Will Teancha confront this deadly enemy...or will she become another victim? Find out in part 6
