The dinner itself went by smoothly, if no conversation could actually be called going smoothly. It wasn’t until Vegeta was finished with his twelfth serving that talking was a must. Bulma cleared her throat trying to get the human’s eyes from her husband to her. “Vegeta likes to eat.” She joked however none of them even made the slightest notion that they heard her. Bulma downed the glass of her wine then continuing, “Let’s talk about the reason we’re here.”

Finally the two brought their wide eyes to her. The mother shook her head, clearing away her shock, straightening her back, “Yes, just why are we here, Mrs. Briefs?” Her snobbish reply was not at all lost to the two opposing creatures. Vegeta and Bulma shared a glance.

Bulma took a deep steadying breath. “To discuss Nesa.”

“I don’t think there is really anything to talk about.” Mr. Juno replied, sitting straight back against his chair.

“Well, see that’s where you’re wrong. Nesa is in desperate need of your help.”

“Well, she should have thought about that before she joined hands with the devil.”

“Mrs. Juno, Nesa did not join hands with the devil.”

“Then what would you call the spawn of Satan’s doings?”

“What does that mean?”

“We all know about you, Mrs. Briefs. Having a child so young and not even married. It was obvious Satan played his part and past his evil down to your bastard.”

“Excuse me!” Bulma stood to her feet but upon hearing the commotion from the people around her, she quietly took her seat however leaning back now, just like Vegeta with her arms crossed.

“Kami shuns you for your mistakes. You will receive judgment soon enough.”

“Listen,” Bulma tried to keep her laughter at bay, “This isn’t about me. It’s about your daughter. Who is at the moment in need of your attention. You can’t just throw her away like she’s nothing. She is your blood you know.”

“She signed the Devil’s book, miss. With her blood. So therefore she belongs to Satan now, not us.”

“Crazy son-of-a- So your just going to forget she even exists? What kind of people are you?”

“Like you are one to judge.” Bulma bit her lip, clenching her fists but waited for the woman to continue. “Mrs. Briefs, we gave our daughter a choice. She could either get rid of the child. Or give up her right as our child. It hurt us deeply when she chose another path from Kami. We thought we taught our daughter the ways of the Lord but it was obvious she had bad blood from the beginning. A rotten child she has always been but not so rotten we would get rid of her. And now we must pay for our shame. Do you know how humiliating it is to tell our church that our daughter has lost her way on Kami’s path? I will never forget it. She is not our worry anymore. Kami will see fit just what she deserves for her betrayal and for signing with the side of the Devil. If she is to suffer, then Kami is just.”

“You’re sick.”

“You judge us and yet you have no religion of your own. You are beneath us. As close to Satan you are without actually being his servants.”

“I’m beneath you?”

“That’s right.”

“OH, man, you guys are the weirdest people I have met yet. You pass judgment on me, but let me tell you something. Kami gives people children because He wants them to grow and become responsible. He wants people to love, no matter what challenges they face. And giving a child to someone, is supposed to be a gift. And a gift from Kami, as I have often perceived, is something one should always cherish. And by throwing your gift out the window, you are shunning Kami. And so now, I think I’m a bit higher on the totem poll then you crazy psychos. Come on Vegeta.”

Vegeta stood instantly, amazed how well his woman stood up against these freaks. But he wanted to get in one last bit of information. “By the way. I have met this Kami of yours. He’s an idiot.” He basked in their disgust gasps and turned to his laughing woman following her out.

“Trunks I am serious, It was awful! When you told me they were religious, I did not even imagine like that! Oh and the best part! You should have seen your father! You would have laughed your ass off! He walks up to the them and goes,” Bulma stalled to clear her voice, puffing out her chest to get a manly voice, “Oh by the way, I’ve met Kami, he’s an idiot.’ The look on their faces! I was crying from my laughter all the way home!” Bulma winked to her husband who watched her from the kitchen table, drinking his water, waiting impatiently for her to get off the phone. “You want to speak to your father? Yeah didn’t think so.” she stuck her tongue out, turning her back now on Vegeta. “Yeah, tomorrow morning at eight. It will probably take a month or so, so pack for a while. No, I don’t think you’ll need a car. Well, come on, Trunks you’re going to be in the Himalayas for a month, I don’t think they’ve built roads up there yet. No your father doesn’t know, yet. Well, I’m obviously going to have to say something now, won’t I? Yes he’s in the room. And no doubt listening. I know he can’t ignore it, but he could show some decency to my privacy. Ahh!” Bulma screeched when her back was suddenly slammed roughly against the refrigerator. She smirked wickedly at her husband who trapped her there now, “Yeah, Trunks I’m fine.”

“Later boy.” Vegeta barked before yanking the phone from her ear and smashing it to the floor.

“Hey!--” She was stalled in her ranting by his hungry lips. Her anger simply pacified by the taste of his tongue. Bulma tried to yank her arms free from his tight hands but he denied her keeping them locked against the wall.

He broke from her lips, both now panting heavily. “Kakarot is not coming with us.”

“Oh yes he is.”

“Oh no he is not.”

“Oh yes he is.”

“Woman--”

“Man--&# 8221;

“Why do you complicate things?” Vegeta growled violently.

“It will be fun. Fathers and sons out in the wilderness for a month.”

“Where no one will find his body.”

“You are not to start anything serious with Goku, do you hear me?”

“I will not need to for he is not coming!”

“Oh, yes he is!”

“He is not!”

“Is!”

“Not!” ;

“Is!”

Vegeta gripped her shoulders shoving her back in the refridator, harder, “Not!” the object vibrated in anguish.

“Stop being an ass.”

Vegeta flexed his fingers upon her skin, hoping she’d understand he wasn’t being serious in his rough treatment, for no matter the expression on her face, her eyes reflected a bit of, not to go so far as to say fear but a close relative in their skies. Did she not know he was just playing with her? As hostile as this position seemed, it was all in fun. “I will not have Kakarot out there without my control, woman.”

“Vegeta, that’s why he needs to go. Trunks is not strong enough to help if you do lose all control. You might kill him. And that is why I want Goku to go.”

“I don’t want him to know about this, Onna.”

Bulma bowed her head, “He all ready does.” She whispered and the moment she felt his hands loosen upon her shoulders she knew forgiveness would not be welcomed so soon. Bulma looked up finding his betrayed black eyes staring into her, making the guilt she tried to push down rise higher every moment. His playful attitude seemingly never to exist and she was quick to reach for him. “Goku’s my best friend.--”

He yanked his arm from her grasp. “I am your husband.”

Bulma closed her eyes in her shame the moment he used the name he never says. He slowly took several steps back before he stalled again. “I couldn’t not tell him. Vegeta, I have no one to talk to about us. Chi-Chi never wants to hear it, mom’s clueless. I don’t have many people that are close friends. But Goku he--”

“Is my enemy.”

“Stop that. You guys are sort of friends. And you know it. He finds no weakness, Vegeta. And I know I promised I’d tell no one, but sometimes I need to talk to someone. And you’re usually the person I need to talk about so I can’t go to you. So what do you expect me to do?” But she received no response for he stomped out to the balcony and jumped down. A few moments later she heard the generator to the GR switch on. Bulma slammed the rag that was in her hand to the ground, running her hands through her hair, gripping it to the point of pain. It appears tonight, she will spend alone.

“Goku!” Bulma embraced her friend deeply, squealing when he straightened his back, lifting her off her feet.

“How’s it hangin, B?” Goku dropped her, grinning his Son-kun grin. “Trunks here yet?”

“Yeah, he’s saying good-bye to Bra. I’m so happy you guys are going.”

“Yeah, Goten and I were kind of getting on Chi-Chi’s nerves.”

“No, dad. That was all you.” Goten chimed in, walking past the two to grab an egg roll from the kitchen table.

“All right food!” The wush of air past over Bulma and she was not surprised to find that it had been Goku who now sat the table, cramming food down his throat.

“Not all of it, Son-Kun, Vegeta still hasn’t eaten.”

“Where is Vegeta anyway?” He got out through bites.

“He was in the GR the whole night. We kind of had a fight.” At that the Prince decided to bless the three with his presence, the balcony door sliding opening revealing his recently showered body wrapped tight in a new spandex suit. He ignore them all , going to the refrigerator to grab himself a gallon of milk, only to find the woman standing next to him when he straightened. Bulma ignored the eyes of the Goku and Goten and leaned in, “I’m sorry.” She whispered just enough for him to hear.

He disregarded her, stepping to the table and began to dig in to his own side of food, not once rising his eyes to the others and not even acknowledging Kakarot’s “What’s up, Vegeta?”

Thank Kami for the distraction. The Elevator binged and out stepped Trunks who grinned upon seeing his best friend, “Goten, what’s going on!” They did their little childish handshake, quickly beginning a conversation on a brand new video game that just came out in stores.

After all of them finished their breakfast, Bulma walked out with them and literal ran to Vegeta before he could even think of taking off, wrapping her arms around his neck, getting no response that he even felt her. “Vegeta, I won’t see you for a month. Please, don’t go away mad.”

“How much did you tell him?”

Bulma detached herself, although staying close to him, to feel his heat. “That you had flashbacks and took medication for them but your stopping now and that’s why you’re going on this trip.”

“What of the medics?”

“He doesn’t know any of that. I’ve told him nothing such as that.”

“I’m to trust you now?”

Bulma’s features toughened at the insult, “You can always trust me, Vegeta. I only told him a little, nothing--”

“Told him what I did not want you to tell him.”

“So now, what, You can’t trust me because of that little thing?”

“Little, woman? You went behind my back.”

“Vegeta, you are making too much of a deal about this. I mean it wasn’t like I cheated on you or anything.”

“Do not bring that up now, woman!” Vegeta bit back harshly forgetting all about the ears that could hear him. “I was doing nothing-”

“But fondling her! Besides that’s not what I’m talking about. I know you were just doing that to make me jealous. I am talking about Epeon.”

“What does that Bitch have to do with any of this?”

“She has to do with trust. You broke my trust with her. But I forgave you because I know you didn’t mean anything by it. Just as I didn’t with Goku. I’m sorry. But I won’t get on my knees and beg for forgiveness for in truth I don’t see anything truly all that bad. You should know by now and accept the fact that Goku is my best friend and I tell him many things. Things that even you don’t know. Yes, you are my husband. Yes I should confide in you everything but you make it so hard to talk too. Sometimes Vegeta I need an outside source to give me words of comfort that everything that I am trying to do I don’t do in vain. Goku reassures me of that when you don’t. So don’t scorn me for being human. I don’t for you being Sayian.” She wrapped her arms once again around his neck, smiling softly when he didn’t pull away. “Now kiss me. I won’t see you for a month. The longest time I have been away from you in fifteen years. Are you going to make me suffer?”

Bulma saw the hesitation in his eyes while he glared down into her depths with a frown. She smiled and kissed his chin and that seemed to break his defenses. “What does Kakarot know that I don’t?” Bulma laughed grasping his lips in hers, feeling his tongue instantly pry her mouth apart and dive into hers. His hand stayed firm at his side however, much to Bulma’s dismay but then again, he was actually showing some affection before others. That was an amazement in itself. The two slowly separated, but Vegeta whispered softly against her that caused a series of laughter. “Damn you.”

Trunks hid his face in his hands, after watching his father fly to the balcony with his mother in arms and slammed the door. How embarrassing! And in front of Goku and Goten, who by the way was rolling on the floor in their own fit, their cackles echoed the airy morning. Trunks had to use all his will not to slam his foot in his best friend’s stomach.

Ten minutes later, Vegeta dropped from the balcony, Bulma waved from up top, tucking her slightly disheveled hair behind her ear. Vegeta eyed the sour face of his son, and mentally smirked. “You couldn’t not do that, huh?” He scowled, jumping in the air along with everyone else.

Vegeta straightened his eyes to the horizon, “We’ll talk when you have a mate, boy.” A harsh thing to say but Trunks knew it was all in fun, however that didn’t stop him from crossing his arms over his chest and throwing his head in the opposite direction. A great way to start off a month of living in the middle of no where together.
