~~~~~~~~ Chapter-- You’re Never Alone
It's our struggles that define us
And the hardships we endure
Your spirit can't be broken now
You've come too far
All your life
You told yourself you were never alone
All your time
Spent on the problems that have no solution
In your mind
Giving up was never an option
Out of spite
Hold onto the hate that has helped you stay focused
Hatebreed
Crashing through the doors, Trunks body was thrashing so violently, Vegeta caught him right before he fell from the bed. Vegeta laid the rocking body upon the floor, holding tight to keep the boy from hurting himself. Blood was pouring from his mouth, ears and eye. Vegeta tried to reach for the morphine but it was just out of reach. He grabbed Trunks powerful arms and gripped them to the boys chest. “Trunks, calm down.” Vegeta growled. “Fight this! You are stronger then this. You are my son! Fight it! Do not disappoint me! Do you hear me, stop it!” Vegeta panted heavily, trying to keep up with the strength of the boy. He needed those damn needles.
But just then, after a whole minute, the struggling stopped.
Vegeta’s breath caught.
He was hesitant as he slowly pulled back, holding Trunks away from his body to look upon his face. But the blue eyes that stared back at him no longer possessed the soul that lit them. Trunks head slowly fell back.
Vegeta, wide mouth carefully held his head and rested it on the floor. His whole body was shaking, afraid to feel for a pulse, wanting to convince himself that there was no need. Trunks was still alive and this was just a side effect. His shaking fingers reached up nonetheless and touched the side of the boy’s neck.
His brows knit when he felt no heartbeat.
He shook his head, but there was no denying it. There was nothing more that he could do.
Vegeta lifted his son’s upper body to his chest, pressing his own cheek against the boy’s soft hair, fisting the blue threads and taking a last breath of his son’s scent, but it already smelt like death.
His teeth ground and his eyes tightened.
The horrible pain in his chest was increasing by the second. It scared him but then again he paid no mind to it. Nothing mattered at the moment. His son was dead.
~~~~````

His son was Dead.

Those words, why did they constantly repeat in his head? Why did his mind feel the need to remind him over and over again that his little boy was gone?

Does it feel like this for everyone? The pain that seemed to clench the heart and make you feel breathless? Did the chest always get so tight and compressed? A bolt was being tightened on his heart, killing him slowly from the inside, with no way to stop it. He swallowed, trying to open up the air in his throat.

He held his boy tight, eyes closing, wishing this all to go away. His thoughts were gone. His mind seemed to shut down. Nothing made sense, it had all happened so quick. He hadn’t even been able to tell his son anything.

The boy had been so strong on the battle field earlier. Trunks had stuck up for him, said things that Vegeta had been so proud of. Had Trunks known that? Had Trunks known that Vegeta had loved him all the more for saying what he did?

Now the boy would never know. It wasn’t fair. Trunks was so young. Why couldn’t the gods take him? Not the boy, the boy was innocent.

So preoccupied with the pain of losing his son, he didn’t notice the tear that escaped.

Neither did he notice that from that single tear a bright light blinded the room, locking out anyone that stood around the Prince and his son.

It wasn’t for five minutes till Vegeta opened his eyes and laid his son’s body down upon the cold tile. He touched his blue hair, brushing it out of his face, and softly closing Trunks’ eyelid. The last time he’ll ever see those gorgeous blue eyes again.

“My young Prince.” A voice that vibrated the empty white room, sounded in Vegeta’s ears like an angel misplaced.

He stood, not wishing to turn his back on his boy but turned nonetheless. He quickly realized the difference in structure of this place, but his mind was taken from the altercation as he saw her standing there. A smile played on her dark blood red lips. A hue of red that matched her wide eyes. Her white silk dress flowed down to her shoeless feet. Her black hair tucked behind her, draping down to her waist.

His facial features made no attempt to make any expression, “Mother.” And his voice was empty of any emotion. He felt nothing else but great sadness.

Her smile only widened and she took a few steps closer, stalling just inches away. “You are not so young anymore. But you are still my prince. My Legendary. My Savior.”

He could think of no words to say. But as he gazed upon her, he wondered briefly if she was real before he looked away.

She took a step closer. “Let me admire the Sayian you have become.” Her hands touched his shoulders, then her arms wrapped around him. Vegeta couldn’t stop himself from taking a deep breath. He stalled instantly when her scent filled him.

“It’s really you.” He stated, though he was no surprised, he was not caring of the fact either.

She nodded as she pulled away. “I have come, finally.” Vegeta stepped back, turning away. Anger was building in his heart. He had just lost son, and now she brings him more misery. “Why are you cold towards me?”

“You come for what reason?”

“To speak with you.”

Vegeta turned his narrowed eyes to her, “Now? When I have just lost my son? When I need nothing but my mate and daughter?” He shook his head, “I do not need you now.”

“You are angry.”

“Yes. I am angry. I waited my whole life to see you again. And you never showed. Only in nightmares did you come to haunt me with your death.”

“I wanted--”

“So many times I needed guidance and you denied. Well, now I don’t need you.” Vegeta went to his son’s body, bending down only to stall.

“I tried to come. I tried, Vegeta. But I wasn’t allowed. I was kept. You locked me away. I couldn’t reach you. Your father was a piece of your mind. Radditz, a piece of your heart. But I was a piece of your soul, Vegeta. A soul you locked away to be tormented for what felt like eternity. Only now, have you ever acted upon the desires of your soul. So I came as quickly as I could so I would not miss out on this chance. I have been waiting just as long as you have, my son.”

Vegeta touched his son’s cheek. It was cold now and his broken lips were blue. He stood facing his mother. “I cannot stay. I must get back to my mate.”

“Vegeta.” She said with a smile. “Your impatientness has not changed with time. I’ve come to talk to you. And that is what I plan to do. Time is standing still. So no time is wasted.”

“I do not want to talk.” Vegeta bit. But his next words stumbled on his lips as he forced them out, hating himself for saying it. “I-I” He swallowed hard, his voice straining. “I have to bury my son.” He grit his teeth as he forced himself to stand firm.

She nodded but ignored his plea to leave. “You came to space to get forgiveness. It was not as relieving as you thought it would be. If you would have stayed on Earth for just a few more weeks, you would have been able to forgive yourself, and this voyage would have never taken place. But you chose to go. The gods did not like it. So they crashed your ship. They made your son sick. Hoping to get you to turn around. You mate would have healed him. But they underestimated your determination.”

“They do that too often. Why was it so horrible for me to come to space? Why couldn’t they have just left well enough alone?”

“The same reason they didn’t when you were younger. They were afraid. They thought you would trade your life on Earth, to become a King. Your place is not here. It is with your mate. It is not only your destiny or fate that they are looking after. Your mate is important as well. And right now, she is in mortal danger.”

“What do you mean? What’s wrong?”

Queen Nukasa seemed to ignore his question as she stepped closer to the body of her grandson. “You have gotten your forgiveness from creatures that you hurt. And you have forgiven yourself for your disgressions. But have you forgiven me?”

Vegeta hadn’t been prepared to answer that. But she looked at him with such intensity he could not ignore her. “No.”

She smiled so softly. The female knelled down and finally looked away to gaze upon her grandson. “He is so beautiful.” Her hand softly graced his forehead. “How I wish I could have met him.” She stood up and walked to Vegeta. Her warm hand touched his cheek. “I left you at such a young age. Unwillingly. And the events that happened in your life, I wish I had had just a little more time. But it needed to happen. Because I was not meant to live that life. It was not my fate, or my destiny, whichever you prefer. You live now, because you were meant too. Never. Never believe that my death was not nesesscary. I would die over and over for you to be exactly were you are now. No matter what you had to do to get here. You are fulfilling the prophecy. You and your mate will recreate a world that was unthinkable in my time. And though you can’t see it yet, you are on the exact path.” She began to slowly step away, never taking her eyes off Vegeta. “And no matter how you feel, Vegeta, I didn’t want you to save me. I provoked your father. He loved me enough to do it, just as he loved you enough to send you away. He was a great Sayian. And you remind me so much of him.”

“You left. On purpose?”

“I didn’t want to leave you. But I needed to. There was no other way. I didn’t see that for a very long time. But then I realized it. When your son was born and the first time you looked at him. I realized that I had done right. The gods had been smart.”

“Each of you speak of gods. Why couldn’t I just live my life the way I wanted too?”

She giggled a bit, smiling broadly, “Because. You’re the Legendary. Your destiny has already been pre-made, written in the stars. You were made to suffer a great deal. For in order to become a god yourself, you must feel every emotion. Every tragedy and every happiness.”

“What if I don’t want to be a god?”

“Too late for that.” She smiled bright until her raised a finger, “But. The gods are getting tired of watching out for you. You caused a whole lot of trouble for them. You need to return home. That is your place now. Stop searching for peace somewhere else. You have already found it.”

The light brightened drastically, blinding Vegeta. When he opened his eyes, he found himself resting upon Trunks body. And Pure Horns surrounded him, worried. “Prince. You past out. We need to get you to a tank.”

“Leave me. Now.” He stared upon the spot his mother had stood. The room returned to the dank and rancid hospital room . How much he had desired it all to be a dream. He had thought that just maybe he had somehow fallen asleep, or even unconscious back on the Demons’ planet. All that has happened so far had just been his imagination getting the better of him. But as he looked down finding Trunks’ lifeless form in front of him, the realization of it all was a bit harder to take.

With heavy burden Vegeta leaned back on his ankles, willing himself to pick the boy up and bring him back to the ship.

As Vegeta placed his hands to lift the boy he stalled. His brows knit. There was color in his son’s cheeks.. Vegeta reached out and touched his face. Warmth had returned too. Vegeta felt his own heart race and sucked in a deep breath. His son was breathing again.

Vegeta checked his pulse and he felt his son’s heart beat against his fingers. “Trunks?” He whispered.

The boy groaned, his eye fluttered and his body fidgeted under the weight of unconsciousness. But the persistence of his name being spoken forced him to retract from the desired darkness and seek light. His eye slowly opened. His father’s astonished features were the only thing he could see. he smiled, “Hey, dad.” Trunks rested himself up on his elbows, looking around. “Man, I am so tired. Where are we? Am I cured?” He touched the patch on his eye in confusion. His blue eye rose to find his father still immobile. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
