ahead and play dead
I know that you can hear this
Go ahead and play dead
Why can't you turn and face me?
Why can't you turn and face me?
Why can't you turn and face me?
You fucking disappoint me!

The ship was a bit empty without all of the Amorites but the more Pure horns certainly took up the extra room. Vegeta took one look upon Trunks injured arms and hurried him to the medical bay where Pure Kitaya laid upon the floor, her legs tucked beneath her and wings spread out. Her left wing was broken. Vegeta placed bandages around his son’s arms, ignoring the need of his own wounds. He needed to be put in a tank. He lost too much blood to be conscious for much longer. Vegeta walked over to Pure Kitaya and was surprised when she lowered her head in a bow, “I thank you Prince Vegeta. You saved us. I never thought I’d hear myself say that. You must have really changed”
Vegeta was called immediately to the rig. There was going to be a slight problem. Amorites had hands, Pure horns aren’t exactly capable of flying the same way. Vegeta sighed. He sat down in the center. Trunks would be good to have right about now but he had sent the boy to their own ship to contact Bulma.
An idea struck him. Though he didn’t have as many hands he had more then enough eyes. “Find an ‘on’ button.”
“Found one.” A voice from afar sounded.
Vegeta rolled his eyes. This was definitely going to take awhile. Using his Sayian speed he actually managed to get the thing up and running. With a sigh of relief he sat in the driver’s chair, directing their large aircraft back out through the black hole. The ship was shaking violently and flashes of light past by them like shooting stars
Swaying back in forth with the ship, Trunks entered “Dad.” He came in standing beside his father’s chair. “I guess Gideon destroy our ship. Not even Betsy’s talking. So are we out of the black hole yet?”
“Ten more seconds.”
“I’ve been meaning to ask, Dad, what am I dying--”
“We’re through.” A loud thump alerted Vegeta to look behind him, only to find Trunks past out on the floor. “Boy.” Vegeta clicked on the automatic drive dropping down to his son, “Trunks.” He shook the unresponsive shoulders.
“Prince Vegeta?” Questioned a near by Pure horn.
Vegeta’s eyes were going over the boy looking for any reason why his son wasn’t waking. Until the thought hit him. “No.” His eyes were wide and he was quick to check for a pulse. It was so weak it was barely recognizable.
Vegeta lifted the boy in his arms, flying down to the medical bay. He laid Trunks on a bed. His brain racing, thinking of what to do first. He grabbed for an IV, quickly reading what was in it. He cursed himself, he didn’t know how to read Amoritian. But Vegeta didn’t have time to figure out anything else. Trunks began to seize, blood was dripping from his ears and mouth. Vegeta powered up to hold him down, his mind was drawing a blank how to save his son.

Vegeta sat beside his comatose son. Vegeta had no choice but to keep the boy asleep. It made him feel better to know that Trunks was in this state because of the drugs that were given to him, keeping him that way. With the help of Pure Kitaya he found what he needed to help stop his son’s suffering.
After the bloody seizure Trunks snapped into consciousness screaming out in brutal agony. He kept repeating “I’m burning!” With his desperate thrashing, it appeared he was trying to stop the invisible flames from eating away at his flesh.
When the substituted morphine kicked in and his thrashing decreased he began to hallucinate horrifying things that caused sobbing and anger. A little bit more morphine stopped the hallucinations but it didn’t stop him from trying to dig out his own eye or cut off his own foot.
Vegeta had no choice but to induce a coma. The boy slept now, peacefully. A patch covering his injured eye, a wrap around his bleeding ankle, and his lips no longer bled from biting.
It didn’t make any sense to him. Trunks had been fine, there was nothing wrong with him and then suddenly to collapse like that, what did it mean?
Pure Kitaya entered silently. In her mouth she held six purple colored flowers. She laid them on the bed. “This is what Gideon took. We landed.” She alerted him,
Vegeta grabbed three syringes full of morphine and the flowers before ripping off all connections to his son. He picked up his child and hurried out of the room.
Vegeta stepped foot on the desert sands. His teeth grinding to hold back his anger. The base was only a mile from here. He quickly jumped in the air. Pure horns flapping their wings beside him. He landed before the underground exit that was already open for him. His eyes narrowed as he saw a decaying body to his right. He continued down the metal ramp, his confusion only increasing when more and more bodies laid out upon the floor, rotting. The smell was so suffocating, many Pure horns backed out unable to stand the smell but Vegeta pressed on with only a few creatures behind.
“Prince Vegeta.” Pure Kitaya tried to whisper but she was ignored.
“I have your cure!” He yelled, his voice echoing the halls of the dead medical facility. Vegeta rested his son on an empty gurney. “Search for survivors.”
Vegeta watched over his son, looking for any signs of pain on the boy’s still relaxed features. He didn’t understand what was going on. Why were they all dead? What had happened while he had been away? “I found someone.” Dynasy hollered.
Vegeta forced his way through the double doors, vaguely recognizing the hallway as the same one Trunks had gone through. The glass cages were still in tact but the creatures inside were beyond decomposing. He paid no mind.
The last glass case held a woman, alive and seemingly well. Besides the fact that her heart was beating outside of her chest. Tubes were hung up all around her, connecting to the veins within her body. Vegeta shut his eyes only for a moment swallowing the quick gag reflex.
Pure Kitaya stepped up to the glass, gaining the woman’s attention with her bright pink eyes. “Alive. Nono, dreams.” She looked down again.
“Not a dream, sweet one. We are here to rescue you.”
Her pink eyes looked up again and she smiled, “I was wondering when you would come. I am tired of waiting. I would like very much to leave now.”
“Where is everyone?” Vegeta bit.
“They are dead. They died many, many kelings ago. I have an eternal clock. For I am eternal.”
Pure Kitaya tilted her head. “You are an Immortal?”
“I am. Don’t you know? Aren’t you my Savior? I was told I’d be rescued by my savior.
“When? When did they die?” Vegeta interrupted impatiently.
“Kelings ago.”
“How?”
“By the disease that ate away at them.”
Vegeta growled violently, banging his fist on the glass wall. “They would have one hour left. These have been dead for months!”
“I do not know your sense of time. But I do remember seeing you here. I thought you were my savior. But that was many, many kelings ago.”
Vegeta smashed his fist again throwing himself away, pacing distressingly. “How is that possible. I don’t understand.”
“We went through a black hole, Vegeta.” Pure Kitaya reminded him. “What if that off set time here?”
The creature in the cage spoke up. “Time travels through black holes. Never the same when it returns.”
Vegeta stalled as he stared upon the floor. That was the answer. That was why Trunks illness came upon him so suddenly with no warning. When they past over the time barrier, his body was forced to catch up with the illness inside of him.
Three months had past since they left. How was Trunks even alive?
“Vegeta!” Dynasy called through the doors once again but this time Vegeta knew what he would find on the other side.
Crashing through the doors, Trunks body was thrashing so violently, Vegeta caught him right before he fell from the bed. Vegeta laid the rocking body upon the floor, holding tight to keep the boy from hurting himself. Blood was pouring from his mouth, ears and eye. Vegeta tried to reach for the morphine but it was just out of reach. He grabbed Trunks powerful arms and gripped them to the boys chest. “Trunks, calm down.” Vegeta growled. “Fight this! You are stronger then this. You are my son! Fight it! Do not disappoint me! Do you hear me, stop it!” Vegeta panted heavily, trying to keep up with the strength of the boy. He needed those damn needles.
But just then, after a whole minute, the struggling stopped.
Vegeta’s breath caught.
He was hesitant as he slowly pulled back, holding Trunks away from his body to look upon his face. But the blue eye that stared back at him no longer possessed the soul that lit them. Trunks head slowly fell back.
Vegeta, wide mouth carefully held his head and rested it on the floor. His whole body was shaking, afraid to feel for a pulse, wanting to convince himself that there was no need. Trunks was still alive and this was just a side effect. His shaking fingers reached up nonetheless and touched the side of the boy’s neck.
His brows knit when he felt no heartbeat.
He shook his head, but there was no denying it. There was nothing more that he could do.
Vegeta lifted his son’s upper body to his chest, pressing his own cheek against the boy’s soft hair, fisting the blue threads and taking a last breath of his son’s scent, but it already smelt like death.
His teeth ground and his eyes tightened.
The horrible pain in his chest was increasing by the second. It scared him but then again he paid no mind to it. Nothing mattered at the moment.
His son was dead.
I know that you can hear this
