~~~`````` Chapter
So let mercy come,
And wash away
What I’ve Done.
I’ll face myself,
To cross out what I’ve become.
Erase myself,
And let go of what I’ve done.
For What I’ve Done
I'll start again,
And whatever pain may come.
Today this ends,
I’m forgiving what I’ve done.
Linking Park- What I’ve Done
Trunks past through the broken walls of the castle. He felt his father’s power draining and knew he needed to get to Vegeta. But he was stalled by a barricade of Demons. He smiled sheepishly but prepared himself to fight if need be. A soldier came forward, directing his attention to Jelsy that stood beside him. “We did what you asked of us, Lady Jelsy. We have contained the clan and the pure horns are safe in the holding cell. The Savior fights with Gideon to the death. Please. May we have our queen back?” Trunks looked to her and she nodded handing them a key.
“I’m sorry I put you all in the middle of this.” The creature bowed and ran off. “How different am I that I sacrifice creatures to get what need?”
“A heart makes a big difference.” She smiled at him.
Trunks flung his eyes to the grounds hearing the loud crash and feeling it shake the earth. He ran out only to find his father in the pit of the crushed rock. Gideon lowered down to him, kicking his unresponsive body. “I don’t understand. Why isn’t he fighting back? Why isn’t he powering up at all.”
Jelsy looked on, unsure anymore what she believed in. “He said it before. He won’t kill anymore.”
Vegeta felt his body give out. This was it. This was how it was going to end. He was going to die for all that he caused. His woman would never forgive him he knew. How he wished he could see her one last time.
Gideon stood above him, “Are you really this weak?” Gideon kicked him again in the stomach, but Vegeta made no response to curl in pain. He was nearly unconscious now. Gideon smirked. “The universe is going to worship me once they know you died by my hand. Say goodbye, Vegeta.” Gideon lifted his hand to form a blast. He was so distracted he didn’t notice the creature that flew down and smashed his foot against his face.
Trunks dropped in a protective stance in front of his father as Gideon dusted himself off from the ground. “He’s not going anywhere.” Trunks growled, powering up instantly to Super Sayian.
“Oh look it here, the half-breed steps up.”
“If my father will not kill you, I will take the burden onto myself. For if I’ve learn anything it’s that his life is too important and too fragile. I will protect him with all that I have.”
“As much as I love conversation, hope you know I have no idea what your saying and don’t really care. I’ll kill you easily, and then I’ll kill your father.” Trunks only smirked as Gideon attacked.
Vegeta watched his son fight with hooded eyes. He wanted so badly to slip into unconsciousness but he fought it. He needed to stand up and face Gideon and stop being so afraid of the evil that was in him. He could control it now. He could stop it, whenever he wanted. So many times he transformed and never gave any thought about it. So why was he not fighting back? Why was it such a big deal now?
And then the answer hit him. It all had to do with forgiveness. That is it. That was the only thing that was stopping him. He wouldn’t save himself without it. And the one person that could give him it, stood on the castle steps.
She stared at him from afar, looking older then ever before. She held so much in her. She fought for so long to kill him and in the end she failed. He understood that. It was her forgiveness he needed. And also, his own.
Vegeta stared at the sky, imagining his mate’s face and Bra chubby cheeks. Bulma smiled at him and Bra’s laughter echoed in the wind. He deserved this life now. Right? Who would tell him no? People that knew nothing his life. People that would judge him just on what they remember. But they had no right anymore. He suffered enough for them. Why did it take him this long to see it? Defending himself against his past was what he had needed to do. That was the reason he came to space. He was better. And now he needed to prove that to her and to himself.
The body that fell from the sky was Trunks. The crater shook the small planet but Trunks got right back up again and attacked.
If he didn’t stop thinking about all of this his son was going to die. He needed to help. He needed to forgive and allow himself to fight.
Vegeta stood. He closed his eyes and felt the power of Super Sayian fulfill him. He flexed his fists, all pain withering away. It was time to end this. He would show Gideon that when a person has a pure reason to fight, they have more power then any crystal or weapon combined.
And, it was time to show Jelsy that, though there was a beast inside him, it was no longer evil. And it no longer consumed him.
He disappeared out of sight only to come face to face with Gideon who was just ready to hit Trunks. The boy stood right behind him. “This fight is between me and you, Gideon. And It ends now.”
“Dad--”
“You’ve done enough, get the prisoners and get them on the ship. I will take it from here.”
“Will you?” Gideon smiled. “As I recall, you didn’t do so well last time.”
“I have a purpose now. And that purpose will destroy you.” Vegeta slammed his fist in Gideon’s jaw faster then he could see it. He followed the body to the ground where it crash landed.
Gideon stood wiping the massive amount of blood from his black face. “You’re an idiot to think you can defeat me.” Vegeta’s body disappeared from view but Gideon felt the Sayian behind him a second too late. His fist slammed into his back ripping through his tissue paper thin wings. Gideon screamed, falling to his hands and knees. He looked behind him, stretching out his injured wings and taking a look at the large hole. “You son of a bitch!” Gideon screamed swinging around and standing, bringing a fist around, but Vegeta caught it in his palm, crushing the bony fingers. Gideon groaned in agony but with his other hand conjured power from the crystal and shoved it into Vegeta abdomen. Vegeta flew back, hitting the ground with a violent crash. His stomach burned and bled, he sat up weakly, cursing himself for not seeing it.
Gideon came strutting over to him, a smile broadly on his face, “You were saying something about a purpose.” Gideon had his hand raised and power ready. “I take such pride in this.”
Vegeta saw movement from behind. A female voice interrupted. “Some people don’t deserve second chances.” Gideon turned to face the woman but got his face smashed with a block of marble. The moment he fell she gripped the crystal around his neck and pulled it off. Gideon growled viciously grabbing her arm and twisting it forcefully.
“You are nothing.” He whispered
“I’m more then you.” She bit through gritted teeth. Her free hand took the knife from her ankle and stabbed him in the arm. Vegeta had seen her attack but had forgotten all about Gideon. His free hand had crept up to her stomach and he sent a blast through her. They both fell to the floor.
Vegeta stunned got to his feet and went to Jelsy as she struggled to find breath that wasn’t coming. He knelled beside her, staring at her with confusion. She had just saved his life. “Why?”
Blood poured down her mouth but she smiled nonetheless. “Your son…learned from you….and he’s perfect….something inside…him…..is inside you….” She swallowed again and again but blood was coming faster then she could get rid of.
Vegeta looked at the wound and knew it would be too late to try anything to save her. This was it. The only creature he needed forgiveness from was dying. “It may not mean much. But. I am--”
“I know…..I knew…it…the first…time…I saw you… I knew…I’d forgive you too…” Her body trembled with uncontrollable tremors. Shock was torturing her body. “Queen Kana…was right….” Her eyes stared to the sky and finally her last breath was gone.
Vegeta felt the brutal kick against his head before he saw it. His body dragged across the dirt. But his defense was only down for a second and the next attack was easily blocked as he flew back to his feet, standing in a solid stance un-intimidated as Gideon smirked. “Well I am surprised. She saved you. That I was not expecting.”
“Stop this now, Gideon. I do not want to kill you.”
“Oh cut the crap, Vegeta! You can’t actually be part of the good crowd! I was there watching you almost your whole evil life. There was no remorse in your eyes for any of it. You are the devil’s son!”
Gideon came at him, fists wailing, Vegeta blocked each one until he finally gripped each fist in his palms. “I may be the devil’s son, but my mother was a seraph.” Vegeta kicked the man in the center of his chest knocking him to the floor. He held out his palm and powered up. “You changed because of Mischa. She would have never accepted this.”
“I fought for her. I lived for her. And she denied me. I killed her people and still she refused me. So now I do it because of her.”
Vegeta lowered his hand. This wasn’t what he wanted. Gideon was not evil. He never was. Not like he had been. Gideon was just confused. Vegeta turned on his foot; he was going to walk away from this. He was not going to kill anymore. “Get a new life, Gideon. For I will come after you if I have too.”
“The noble Sayian!” Gideon laughed. “My Savior! Hahaha. Earth has made you weak!” Gideon grabbed the crystal on the ground and raised a powerful glowing hand.
Metal slashing through skin caught his hearing. Vegeta turned around only to find Gideon’s head slowly fall from his shoulders and his body drop to the ground. His eyes were wide upon seeing the creature that turned around and faced him. She lowered her sword to her side only to have it disappear from her grasp. “Savior.” She smiled softly.
“Dad!” Trunks ran up to his side. “you okay?” Vegeta didn’t reply as he stared upon the woman. “Jelsy?” But upon finding a body on the ground, Trunks quickly went to her only to find out it was too late. He hung his head as he stood going back to Vegeta’s side.
“I see you found your heart.” Vegeta looked to his son. “It took you long enough.” Her steps were silent as she made her way to the two men. A smile on her lips as her see through fingers touched Trunks pale cheek, “Do not cry for her. She is now complete.” Her face saddened however as her fingers fell down to his heart. Her grey eyes looked to Vegeta. “I cannot fix him. It is out of my power.” Vegeta didn’t respond for he had already known this. “Gideon was never
going to change. Not everyone evil will have a pure heart like you, Savior. He was never going to give you the antidote. His heart was too diluted. And his role in your life was over. But your son’s is not. You must hurry now. He needs your care.” Trunks took for the ship but Vegeta stayed put. “Something on your mind?”
“What did you say to her?”
“That you were protected by the gods. And that she would forgive you.”
