"Chelsea!?" My eyes shot open as my name was called, surprising me so that I fell from my chair, but managed by some strange chance to roll out of it and onto my hands and feet. "Chelsea!" My eyes swiveled wildly around until I found my mother yelling at me. My eyes feral for a moment, a sharp pain at the base of my spine. "Chelsea! Wake up! You fell asleep at that damn computer again! It's time to go to school! You are going to be late again!" I shook my head while blinking. I really didn't feel good again. Another bad dream...the same one every night for two years. Every morning I wake up more wild than the last and the animal growing within my soul had just come out of being dormant. "I-I don't feel well...m-mother." I said sitting up and laying down in my bed. She came over and felt my head. "You do feel warm...fine! You can stay home, but this is the last time you get to!" "Thank you." Then everything went dark as exhaustion took me.

"Let's get finish this mission guys so we can go home!" "Tell the prince we're almost done here." "Goten! Trunks! We're going to the park! Come on already!" "I feel it...it's in my bones, in my dreams...a hybrid missing from this world...there should be another..." "Daddy...tell me about my sister...please...? Fading... Voices cut off... Nothing... Fear... Sorrow... Pain... Don't belong here... A new voice... "Wake up!"
----------> End Dream
I shot up in bed with a ragged gasp. Only then did I realize it was the dream again. Looking down, I noted that sweat had soaked into everything, I was wet, the bed was wet, everything was a mess. I groaned in aggravation. After a nice hot shower, I walked down to the kitchen and scoped out the fridge, which in fact beheld a note! I snatched it up growling and read.

"What a wonderful time to leave me alone. All alone with only my thoughts to keep me company during this summer." I had not the time to sigh before the door bell rang and I had to go running down the stairs in order to get to the door before the person gave up and left. I reached the door sooner than I thought I would and opened it a crack. "Yes?" The man turned around with a startled intake of breath. The man was stunning to say the least. His cerulean eyes, strange lavender hair jaw length, and perfect muscle build left me in awe of this magnificent masterpiece of art. "Oh, heh, sorry for disturbing you, but my family and I just moved in a little ways down the street and I just wanted to meet some people." He looked a bit at a loss before sticking his hand out and smiling. "It's a pleasure to meet you."   I regained my ability to speak and I smiled, opening the door and shaking his hand. "Hi, my name's Chelsea." He laughed softly. "My name's Trunks." I grinned. "That's a beautiful name." I suppose I outdid myself, he seemed shocked. "T-thanks, I-I've never been given a compliment before that had nothing to do with my ass." I laughed. "Would you like to come in? Have a drink perhaps and enjoy each other's company as we enjoy the pleasant weather?" He smiled, our hands breaking their contact. "I shouldn't really, I have to go and train with my dad." Just then my own martial arts lessons came to mind. "You're right! I'm going to miss my lessons at the dojo!" I ran off to my room just next door to the front door to change into my spandex shorts and matching tank top that left my midsection exposed. "You take lessons?" He asked walking a little ways inside the house but not coming in any further. "Yeah, I'm fascinated with fighting techniques and love learning about different styles, stances, and people's histories related to them." Trunks snorted. "Then you and my Father would get along with peanut butter and jelly. He's all into that too, I'm not that interested though the fight is in my blood. My dad's a warrior." My head popped out of the door looking at him with shimmering eyes. "For real?" Trunks nodded. I slunk out of my room and up to Trunks and batted my eyelashes. "Could I come back home with you instead and watch you and your Father spar?" He smiled. "I don't see why not! Come on, my mom would love to meet you." "Then what are we waiting for?! Let's go!" Trunks laughed at my amusement as I whipped my long sable hair up close to my head and slipped on a pair of thin sandals.   "Mom! I'm home!" Trunks shouted when we got to his house, which by the way was four stories and five times the size of anyone else's house on the block. Think rich neighborhood, then mansion size house. Yeah, there you go. A blue haired woman came running around the corner and grabbed his arm, shooting into another hallway and I followed. "Your Father has been tearing this place apart looking for his gravity chamber and I can't find it in the capsule case!" "Where is he?" Trunks asked. "Damned if I know, this place is huge! I can't find that spandex clad ass of his anywhere!" I blushed at her vulgar mouth and I wisely kept my shut. "WOMAN! WHERE IS MY DAMN GRAVITY ROOM????!!!!" Trunks suddenly stopped and cursed. "Trunks Vegeta Briefs! Don't use that kind of lan-" "I have it Mom! I quickly packed it into my suitcase at the last second!" With that, he whirled around and dashed down the hallway. I heard his running footsteps above me seconds later and the booming voice of Vegeta as he bellowed for his gravity room. Suddenly, Trunks' footsteps again and then the voice stopped. The tension started to mellow out a bit and Trunks was beside me again. "Next time Trunks, pack the GR in the capsule box, okay?" "Yes Mother." Then she turned to me. "Who are you?" Looking like he realized I was just suddenly there, Trunks jumped in. "Mom, this is Chelsea, I met her on my escapade through the neighborhood." The woman smiled and shook my hand vigorously. "Hi! My name's Bulma, I'm the top woman of the house." "Hi, my name's Chelsea Vega. I live at the front of the street." I didn't catch Bulma's frown at my last name, or the sparkle of hope that lit up her eyes momentarily. "Glad to meet you. Are you going to run around with Trunks, or help unpack, or just make conversation? Because I'm good with all." She said smiling. "Oh, I'm just going to-" "Bulma honey! Your Father is looking for you in the lab!" "Yes Mom! I'll be right there!" "Okie dokie then!" I quirked an eyebrow. Bulma caught it and laughed. "It's my mom, we all live together in one big happy family! Now if you would please excuse me, I have been summoned!" She took off down a hall. "What a busy family." I said looking after Bulma. Trunks laughed. "Yeah and dysfunctional." Then his expression turned serious. "Oh damn! Dad'll be furious with me if I'm late to training." He looked at his watch. "And I'm late!" He grabbed my hand and took off down through the labyrinth of hallways.   We made it to the back yard just as he was about to yell again and I looked at him in complete awe. The man was beautiful. Now I know who Trunks took after. "Boy! You are late! As usual. That harpy of a woman always finding ways to get on my nerves!" His gaze shifted to me. "And who exactly are you?" I swallowed hard and bowed my head in respect. He had this aura of importance about him that made me want to get down on one knee and apologize for not being more respectful. "My name is Chelsea Vega and I live at the front of the street. It is my pleasure to meet you." Trunks was stunned at my show of respect and Vegeta's expression softened. "Look at her boy, could you not show that kind of respect to me? I am the Saiyan No Ouji and never have I been shone more repect than when I was on my throne." I must have looked confused when I straightened because Trunks suddenly realized his Father's error and mouthed such to him while I was in thought. Vegeta growled. "Like hell I care if a human finds out my origin!" "Sir?" I asked in respect and Vegeta answered back in a civil tone. "You have a question?" "Yes Sir, what is a Saiyan?" Vegeta launched into his speech about the great people of Vegetisei. "The Saiyan people are a people of warriors. They conquer for their King of whom I should be! But my planet was destroyed so I am no more than a prince." He looked at me as my eyes sparkled in wonder. "Was that a suitable explanation." "Yes Sir. Oh and may I ask one more?" Vegeta smirked and crossed his arms over his chest and nodded that I could. "Do you want me to recognize you as Sir or my Prince?" I questioned. He smirked at Trunks. "Either is acceptable." Then he seemed to remember something. "Your last name is Vega?" "No Sir, that is my middle name. It used to be my last name, but when I was adopted it changed to my middle name and Blacke became my last name." Vegeta seemed to go into thought as I settled into the soft grass as Vegeta and Trunks began training.   After training, we all went in for lunch. Me being me, I followed my curiosity. "Hey Trunks." I asked around a bite of sandwich. "Hmm?" "Do you have any siblings?" He stopped momentarily and eyed his father before speaking. "No." "Me too. My adopted parents couldn't have any children of their own, so they adopted little old me. I don't remember much of the orphanage or my real parents. My adopted parents refuse to tell me anything. They get me so mad sometimes and I feel like I'm about to explode with anger." I was drunk on memories and good food and my voice lowered as I spoke. "Things happen when I'm angry or upset. I see red and when I come to my senses, everything around me is singed. Like a fire broke out, but just a very small, very hot, and very quick fire swept through." I sighed and closed my eyes. Vegeta looked at me questionably. His eyes searching for something in me that I didn't sense. "How did you know your last name is Vega if you don't remember your life before the orphanage?" He asked softly. I looked up and stared blankly at the wall. Before holding up my bracelet with the name 'Vega' on it. "I was found with this on, or so I'm told."
"Can I see it?" Vegeta asked. Something strange in his voice that I couldn't decipher. "Sure." I handed it over to him. I watched as he ran his fingers across it, eyeing it, and even..smelling it. "What?" I finally asked. "Nothing." He said and briskly handed it back and leaving. I turned to Trunks. "Did I say something wrong?" He smiled softly. "No, but I have to go and help Mom unpack. I'll see you later, k?" I smiled back. "Okie dokie." We both got up and left.
