----------> Two month later
"Stupid friends...dragging me across hell's half acre...on a damn road trip." I grumbled, throwing my bags and luggage on the floor as I kicked off my boots and socks.
Dragging myself into the living room, a strange sight encounters me. My body goes rigid, every hair on my body standing up, my skin going cold and clammy.
My adopted parents...and the social workers that set me up with them...sitting on the couch and chairs...with Vegeta and Bulma on the good leather couch.
"Baby." My adopted mother calls me, but I don't move.
"Miss Vega, would you please have a seat, we have things we need to discuss."
There...my heart has just hit the floor. I can feel the empty space there cramping painfully. Pain...darkness...falling...
I groan softly as I sit up in bed. Remembering the social workers, I gasp and look around to find nothing. "Good...it was just a nasty dream." I said with a smile. But then suddenly the door opens and my Mom comes in, tears welling up in her eyes. My smile vanishes. "Mom? What's wrong?" I ask confused. "Oh, Baby." She says crying and enveloping me in a hug and I hesitantly hug her back. 'It must be bad if she is hugging me. She knows I hate physical contact.' "What's wrong?" I ask again. She just shakes her head and cries. Just then...Dad comes in with a social worker. "Honey..." He says softly to me as he gently coaxes mom off of me. "Miss Vega, I trust you won't pass out on us again?" I growl. I just can't help it. I hate social workers. "I won't pass out. Now tell me what is going on!" "Your biologic father had been found and has tested for positive ID. You are his child. He's here to pick you up." "What?" I ask, not comprehending. Did he just say they found my biological father? He didn't just say that...did he? "...What's going on...?" I ask again. "Your real name is Vega, as so as the bracelet you have on your wrist. You are the missing daughter of Vegeta Briefs, Bulma Briefs is your stepmother. You were lost to them in an explosion of a lab. You in turn lost your memory and wound up in an orphanage. Is that clear?"
"Crystal..." I said, still not believing. "Baby..." I hugged my mom and dad and kissed them. "When do I have to go?" I asked the worker. "Whenever you are ready, they are in the living room right now." I turned back to my parents. "I love you both like my real parents because you are the only parents I have ever known. I love you both so much, but I have to go. Promise you'll adopt another and raise it has you were raising me." They promised...I packed...then went down stairs to 'meet' my real parents.
They both raised their heads to look at me as I looked at them. "Ready to go Vega?" Bulma asked hesitantly. I looked at them, not really smiling. "Please, call me Chelsea." Bulma nodded understandingly and helped to carry my things to their car. When it was all packed and done...I waved to my adopted parents...we pulled out...and went the wrong way... "Why aren't we going the other way?" "We aren't going back to that house." Bulma answered. "Then where are we going to live?" "Japan." She simply stated. "Japan?!" I growled. "Are you purposely trying to forever separate me and my adopted parents?!" "Come now Ve-Chelsea. Japan is where I work and originally lived. We are just moving back there." "But I want to stay here!" I yelled. "Vega! For Kami's sake shut your mouth! You are not acting the princess you are! You have more class than that! Saiyans don't whine!" Vegeta yelled, annoyed. "Sa-Saiyans?" What was he getting at? 'Oh my Kami! If Vegeta is Saiyan and I'm his daughter, then that makes me an a-a-alien! I was shaken.
I quietly brooded the entire fifteen hour flight to Japan. To say the least...I was pissed...royally(no pun intended). Trunks sat beside me albeit a little nervously and watched me carefully. He knew that I was not like him, I was a full blooded Saiyan, he was a half breed. I was far more temperamental than he could ever be. "Chelsea?" He asked softly. I didn't turn to acknowledge him, but he knew I was listening...I was always listening. "Chelsea, are you okay...I know you're mad and everything, but...could it really be that hard to accept this?" I turned to him this time. "Accept? Accept being taken away from a family that loves me? Accept the fact that I am not of this world? Accept the fact that I have just been stolen from my own country? Accept. I. Won't." I growled and turned back to the window. I heard his sigh of frustration, but I didn't care, serves them right for being so brash. They thought they could take me away from a family that cares about me and loves me. These people obviously didn't, they just wanted what was theirs back. A growl started deep in my throat as Japan became bigger, a sharp pain lingering in my spine. Trunks eyed me like I was dangerous and shot a glance back to his parents, only which Vegeta returned. His own bad feeling developing from my temper. He knew who I took after and it wasn't my mother.
"We're here!" Bulma yelled when we pulled up to the enormous house. 'At least I'm rich now.' I thought bitterly. "Ve-Chelsea honey, pick a room you like and move in." She said as she and Vegeta and Trunks carried their things up the huge stairs. I followed wordlessly and after seeing where everyone else slept...I moved as far away from them as I could. That was no problem however, it seemed like they had at least two hundred rooms. I unpacked my things and looked everything over just in time to be called to lunch...through an intercom. "How lovely..." I growled feeling as if I were in school...or college. I made it down to the kitchen and sat down. Bulma put a large plate of...stuff in front of me, which I ate quietly, but quickly...finishing every little bite. When I was done, I left without anyone noticing...or so I thought.
'She is faster and quieter than I had thought.' Vegeta thought as his eyes followed Chelsea's quick departure. "Hey, where'd Vega go?" Bulma asked. "It's Chelsea!" Came her angry reply from upstairs. 'Damn, she has good hearing as well. Of course all Saiyans have excellent hearing.' Trunks looked worriedly above him. "She's not settling well...maybe it was a bad idea to bring her back into the family." "Nonsense!" Bulma shrieked. "She has this family's blood! She belongs with us!" Vegeta growled. "Correction, Woman, she has my blood, not yours." Bulma growled. "Then YOU go talk with her and see why she isn't adjusting well!" "I know why she isn't ad-just-ing well!" "Well then let me in on the little secret!" Bulma screeched. I took it upon myself to enter at that time and stalk past them and out the back door grumbling. "So much damn yelling...can't even get a nap..." Both Bulma and Vegeta looked after me before Vegeta followed my path out. I couldn't stand their excessive yelling anymore! It was driving me insane! Well...I ran from it...as fast as I could...I ran...I didn't know where I was going...I couldn't speak Japanese so if I got lost...I was lost...but I didn't care. I ran for what I estimated to be about three miles before sitting down and panting. About five minutes after that, I became aware of someone watching me and I looked around...before finally looking up. Vegeta looked right back down at me...as he floated in the air. I just looked down again without that startling me. "Most humans would scream and point at me if they saw me flying." He said softly. "Well..." I said almost inaudibly, "I'm not human...now am I?" "No, you aren't. You are far better than any human could ever be. You are a princess." "I don't care...I just wanted to be left alone...why can't anyone just leave me alone...I didn't do anything to deserve this..." I whispered pathetically. "Deserve what? The truth? You deserved the truth. You deserve to remember too, but that can't be helped." I looked at him. He was being so much more kinder to me than he even was to Trunks...his own son, but I am his first child...a full blooded Saiyan. I felt so drawn to him, I wanted protection, I wanted to be loved. He saw something in my eyes, I'm sure and he came down to me, sitting in front of me...and opening his arms. My eyes instantly filled with tears and I fled to the safety of his arms and they enveloped me in a warm, strong embrace that made all of my problems, troubles, and pains disappear. 'This is my real father...my only blood family save for Trunks.' And the word slipped from my lips before I could help it. "Daddy." I felt his breath hitch before his buried his face in my shoulder and tightened his grip around me. "My daughter. I have finally found you." My grip around his neck tightened and the feeling of protection surrounded me so utterly..that I fell asleep in his arms. Safe...warm...and loved...
