----------> End Dream

"Ahhhhhhh!" I cried, sitting bolt straight up in bed.
Bulma comes bursting into my room, Vegeta and Trunks hot on her heels.
"What? What is it Chelsea?" She asked as she checked me over.
Trunks and Vegeta looked expectantly at me.
"A..a...memory...vision...nightmare...I don't know anymore." I looked up at her, "I've had it since I can remember...scares the life out of me each time. Oh Kami it scares me..." I moaned as I clung to her.
"What kind of nightmare?" Vegeta asked.
I looked at him. "I hear sounds...feel things...voices, talking." I raised my head, my eyes sightless as I thought, "I can hear people talking about a prince, the smell of blood, sweat, and death. I hear a boy asking his dad about his sister...a person talking about a missing hybrid." My eyes turn to Trunks. "Someone telling Trunks and Goten to hurry up...about to go to the park...wings..."
Each time I recounted a vision, Vegeta's gaze got further away. I could tell that he remembered each of these visions I had, because he remembered them too.
"Bulma," She looked up at Vegeta, "could you leave us?" She nodded and rose, taking Trunks with her as she departed.
"I don't understand what is happening to me." I choked.
Vegeta, by this time, had made his way to the window and now gazed up at the stars. They reflected in his onyx depths.
"Your mother, he was an oracle." He said very softly.
I looked up at him confused. "He?"
"I loved him with all my heart, he gave me you after all. I never expected an heir from him, but he told me that he saw into my future. Your future too, he told me about you and how different you would be."
I slowly ran my fingers through the long fur of my tail as I listened. 'So that's why I'm so different.'
"That's how you were able to pick up on your difference from normal humans. Though," he turned to look at me, a sad smile playing on his lips, "you take after him much more than you do me." He gestured to my back and tail, "He was the most beautiful creature I had ever come across on all my days exploring other worlds. He had such beautiful raven wings, silk raven tail, the same as yours, the fur was long, was soft." He smiled lovingly at the memory, but it instantly vanished with his next words, "I was ordered to kill him before he could be used as a weapon to us. He carried you to term and mothered you until you could survive without him, then he...he." Vegeta leaned up against the window frame and stared up at the stars, tears welling up in his eyes, but wouldn't let them fall, "He sent you to a planet with a guardian, he didn't tell me where you were before he...before he...he..." Vegeta quickly wiped his tears away with the back of his hand before continuing, "He killed himself so that I didn't have to, he was always thinking of me and you...never of himself..."
I was thinking the entire time he spoke. I swiftly put all the information to memory as I thought about my own situation.
"Is that...is that what the fur on my back is?" I asked quietly.
It seemed to take him a second to realize that I was talking and then thought about an answer to that question.
"Yes, most likely. His wings were permanent, but he...he said that yours would be able to retract." He said, turning to look at me, then walking over to where I sat on the bed. "Lie down on your stomach." I did as he told and waited for his explanation.
His hands whispered across my clothed back until they found the bottom and pulled it up to my neck. I heard a growl of frustration at having found out that I wore a bra.
"Damn contraptions...I swear...women wear these things for the sole purpose of pissing off men."
I laughed quietly and reached behind me, batting away his fumbling fingers to unclasp the simple hooks. With that all said and done, the tension and sorrow hung in the air thicker than before, replacing the moment of comic relief.
His hands caressed the soreness of the furred lines of my back making me hiss in pain as he pressed down on the slits hidden in the middle.
"Ahh." He softly cooed in comfort as he tenderly stroked the slits. "Your wings are almost completely developed, you just need to take the last step in completing the process."
"What step is that?" I warily questioned.
"The bones must meet air to harden, if they don't then the wings become useless within seventy-two hours of puberty. The beginning of your puberty began yesterday, so tonight is really the last time the process will have a successful chance to harden. The process is extremely tricky because it takes six hours to completion. Now," he said pausing to search for the right muscles, "we must find the muscles that bring the wings from their sheaths. Try flexing the muscles you can control. I don't know if you can fully use the new muscles that control your wings."
I flexed all the muscles I could feel in my back and yet I couldn't find the ones I knew where there. That is, until...
"Ah! There you go! Use those, you've found them." He said a bit excitedly as the end tips of my wings began to emerge from the slits.
Pain-filled groans and moans escaped me as I worked the powerful yet new, very tender muscles.
"Errr...dammit that hurts!" I growled.
Vegeta gently massaged the edges of the furry slits as my large, leathery raven wings emerged.
Halfway through though, the muscles started to spasm painfully and I cried out in the agonizing pain.
"Vega? What's wrong, Vega?!" Vegeta asked, concern radiating from him.
"Pain...muscles tearing...they're too new..." I cried in pain.
"Shhh...it's all right Vega, I'll help."
He gently took hold of one of the quivering appendages and gently pulled until it was spread out in its entirety on the bed. He quickly went to my other side and relieved the cramped wing of its confinement, then returned to my left side.
"Is that better Vega?" He asked worriedly.
I nodded slightly. "Wings better, muscles hurt like hell."
He nodded and sat down in the chair he had pulled up at the bedside. Upon sitting down, he took up my tail in his hands and started to gently stroke it, determined to dull and override the agonizing pain with pleasure.
I felt the pleasure begin and as it diluted the pain, unconsciousness took advantage of the moment of peace.

Vegeta smiled lovingly at his daughter, now free of pain and asleep. He watched as her tail curled protectively around his wrist as her foundation of safety. Silently he wondered if her barren leather wings would grow the beautiful, silky feathers that his lover had.
"Did you know, Malikai, that I would be this lonely without you? Did you see it, that our daughter would fix what you have broken? Did you know how much pain we would go through? I will never hold you in my arms again and she will never know her mother. Is this what you had planned?" Vegeta looked back down at Vega from looking up at the ceiling and kissed her forehead as he gently unwrapped her tail from around his wrist.
"Sleep well Princess, let no demons haunt you tonight." He whispered and silently left the room, smiling back at his daughter.
