I blinked tiredly as sunlight blared into my eyes from the open windows, making me groan and try to get away from it only to have it blocked. Surprised, I turn my head to see one of my wings shielding me from the light.
Sitting up and swallowing the well of pain that tried to force its way past my lips in a groan, I tenderly take a leathery wing in hand. The leather was cool and smooth in my hands and I felt patches of bristles coming in that I knew could only be feathers. Deciding that I was indeed very hungry, I stood up and (with a lot of work) folded my wings behind me. Once satisfied that I looked presentable, I left my room for the kitchen.
I had just seated myself when Bulma came in, saying 'good morning' to me as she went about making breakfast. Trunks soon followed her in and sat down at the table, nodding his head in the gesture of 'good morning' as he picked up the newspaper and began reading. They had not noticed my wings because I had them neatly tucked behind me and down, not wanting anyone to break the beautiful calm silence that had fallen around us. Just then, Vegeta came in through the back door and sat down across from me as he always did. Only this time, my back was facing the wall as his was facing outwards to the kitchen.
"Good morning Vegeta. Breakfast is almost ready, it'll only be a few more minutes." Bulma called from the stove.
"Well hurry up Onna, we're hungry over here." He muttered. Then to me I saw the question in his eyes and smiled.
I silently rose a wing and gently wiggled it around to show that the torn muscles had regenerated and that my wings were solid and usable, that is when the feathers grew in. I happily took my wing in hand and showed him the bristles of feathers growing in as Trunks carried on with his newspaper and Bulma kept cooking breakfast. He was just as happy as I was when he saw this and nodded, a smile playing at his lips as I dipped my wing behind me again.
"Can you retract them?" He asked quietly.
I shook my head. "I'm waiting for the feathers to grow in before I start looking for a way to retract them." I answered back and he nodded in understanding.
---------->Six months later
Growling, I briskly walked from my room down through the living room, through the kitchen, and out the back door. Bulma and Chi Chi looked at each other from their little friendly conversation, then back at each other. "What was that all about?" Chi Chi asked Bulma, but Bulma only shook her head. "I don't even know anymore." Bulma sighed. I had met Chi Chi and the rest of the Son family about a month ago. Since then, I had been in a foul mood as I was constantly surrounded by people stronger than myself. I had finally found out how to retract my wings, though the process IS painful. It isn't so painful that I would let them hang out though as I usually have them tucked safely in their sheaths in my back. I was now on the war path to the gravity room where I knew Vegeta would be sparring with Kakarotto. I don't like to call him Goku, because if I have to be called by my Saiyan name so does he. "Vegeta! Vegeta, open this damnable door and pay up!" I yelled. Hearing the fighting stop and a few mumbled curses, the door swung open. "What now, Vega?" He growled exasperated. I smiled in triumph. "Remember when we made a bet on who is most pussy whipped?" Vegeta growled, a warily expression in his tone. "Yes." I laughed. "Well you lost! You said it was Kakarotto and I said it was you, so I win! Pay up!" I held out my hand. He growled. "I am NOT pussy whipped." Just then Bulma yelled from the back door. "Vegeta! Get your ass in here and take a shower so you can take the kids to the amusement park!" I smirked. "Oh you're not, huh?" He growled venomously and turned his head towards the gravity room chamber.
"Kakarotto! If I have to go to the amusement park, so do you!" "YAY! AMUSEMENT PARK, AMUSEMENT PARK! I'M GOING TO THE AMUSEMENT PARK!" Both Vegeta and me sighed and shook our heads at the Saiyan's behavior.
I hummed happily along side Vegeta as I flipped through the easy, EASY cash I earned just for being right. I looped my arm through Vegeta's and pocketed the money. "Ah, Vegeta Vegeta Vegeta, you have made my day, you know that?" "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I just lost two-hundred dollars to you brat." I smiled and laughed softly. "Yeah, I know you love me though." I said and kissed his cheek as I ran off laughing through the unusually light traffic of the park. He smiled briefly. "Certainly can't deny that."
