A/N: Hey ppl. This is an angst one-shot... or maybe I might continue it... if u want to... Bulma is dying, and there is nothing they could do to save her. How will Vegeta, Trunks, and the rest of the Z-fighters cope if Bulma dies. High Ratings for blood, gore, etc....

Disclaimer: I do not own DBZ, or any of it's characters.

Wait for me... and I will follow you... till the very end... until my heart can no longer beat... wait for me.... Vegeta...

Bulma sat in on a bench just two meters from the playground, and she stared at Trunks with a great intensity as she watched the children play. It was a wonderful day. The sun was out, the weather warm, and the breeze was light against her skin. But she was cold. Freezing cold.

But she had to stay there. She couldn't miss out on watching his son have fun... even if it meant... that it would be the last time she'll ever see him.

Two years ago, she was diagnosed with a terminal disease that attacked her organs. Basically... her body was slowly killing itself, destroying all the muscle, and tissue of her organs.... until eventually her heart gave out. She only had a couple of days left. And no one knew about it... it would be... too devastating if they knew about it.

She knew Vegeta noticed it too. There had been to many signs for him to see. Her loss of Balance, hearing, speech... her diminishing sex drive... she wanted to hide it all from him, but eventually... she had to tell him sooner or later.

She cloaked her scarf around her neck, and closed her eyes momentarily. She was growing tired, and weary from just sitting there. "Trunks." she called out wearily.

His sensitive Saiyan ears picked up her voice, and quickly, he went to her side, grinning from ear to ear. "Are you having fun?" she asked.

"Yeah!! Thanks mom, this is so much fun!!

She smiled wearily at him. "I'm glad you're having fun. It makes me... so happy, and... relieved."

"The Ice Cream truck just came, can I have some????" he jumped alongside her frail weak body. She dug through her purse, and handed him a couple of crumpled up bills. "Make sure to invite your friends."

"Oh boy!!" he ran towards the truck, calling out for the other children to join him. Bulma relaxed against the bench, gasping for air.

I will wait for you here.... do not worry.... I will wait for you here... I won't ever leave....

Eyes rolled upward as her heart race decreased to sluggish 30 beats a minute...

Do you promise me... If I am gone from the face of this planet... promise me you will take care of Trunks.

Her veins were rupturing from the inside, and blood was seeping through every opening of her body.

I promise to look out for the well being of Trunks. He is in good hands.

Blood, and a mixture of spittle erupted from her mouth. Her body was being ripped to shreds from the inside. Her bones were beginning to diminish, and crack, her ribs now piercing through her liver, lungs, and heart.

I love you Vegeta.

Trunks ran towards Bulma now, dropping his sundae on the sand.

I... I love you too Bulma.

He grabbed her by the shoulders, trying to bring her back to consciousness.

Now... that wasn't hard too say, was it?

"Mom...." he wept onto her blood soaked jacket.

If you ever repeat what just happened here.....

"Someone call the ambulance!!! My mom is dying!!!"

Of coarse I won't, you dweeb. You're such a prick when it comes to our relationship.

"SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!"

I'll screw you over if you told anyone about this!!!

"They're coming mom. Don't worry...."

I love you too, Vegeta.

Trunks broke down the entrance to the gravity room, and found his very outraged father in the center, holding out his fist to show him how angry he was. "BRAT!!!"

"It's mom... she's... dying...."

Vegeta's face contorted into pain, anger, and confusion as he watched his son collapse to the ground, his body smothered in Bulma's warm blood. He held out his hand, as if trying to reach hi, but his gloved hand never touched him, and he fell to the ground miserably. His whole body went into fits of tremors.

"...Trunks... what... what did you say?"

"She's dying... mom... is dying... they took her to the hospital--"

"Which one!?" he asked urgently.

"The one by the park where I always go to--"

"Go inform the others!!! I'm going to hospital, and tell them to come along, you hear!!!!"

"Yes sir."

Everyone waited outside of the E.R, growing more weary, and inpatient. The waiting room was growing more intense, especially as Goku paced back and forth of the E.R. Vegeta sat away from all the other, sitting in a corner all by himself as he heard tired sighs from the Z fighters. He couldn't blame them after all. They had been waiting for nearly sixteen hours.

"Vegeta."

He looked up to see Goku's saddened face.

"What do you want, Kakkarot?" he hissed.

"Everything will be fine... don't worry..." he stood in from of him, so that the others wouldn't see him. He took the imitative, and hid his face into his hands, shaking uncontrollably as broken sobs erupted from his lips. He stood closer to him, making sure no one was seeing this.

"Vegeta, I... I'm sorry... but there's nothing...." He choked up. "Nothing can't save her. She's... lost too much blood... her organs are shutting off one by one... the only thing keeping her alive is the... machine.... she doesn't have much longer...."

"No....."

"I'm so sorry...." Goku sobbed. "If only there was something I could do...."

Vegeta fell silent, and stared across the E.R. There was something definitely wrong. He couldn't feel Bulma's presence anymore. She was... gone...

The rest of the Z fighters also fell silent, and cold heard reality slapped them in the faces when a doctor stepped out of the door, smothered in her blood. She was dead... she was gone for good....

"Bulma...."

One year and a half passed since Bulma's passing, and everyone was still getting used to her loss. Vegeta spent more time in the gravity room, and this time, Trunks didn't even bother to talk him out of it. He knew the state that he was in, and he didn't want to bother him, so he let him be.

He stepped into his bedroom, and replaced the flowers in the base next to Bulma's picture. She loved Lilacs, and he got them every morning, so that she wouldn't be lonely there.

He threw out the water, and replaced it with fresh cold water. "Hey dad." he murmured, when he noticed another presence. Vegeta stood out of his room, his arms crossed over his shoulder. Some things just never changed.

"You should... go to sleep now. You have school tomorrow."

"I'm not sleepy."

"Then make yourself go to sleep."

"I can only sleep... if mom read me a story."

"Cut the bullshit, Trunks. She's dead, so move on!!" he shouted harshly.

"How can you say that?? How can you say that about mom??!! Don't you miss her??"

"Of coarse I do!! But I'm not going to mope around because of that!! And you shouldn't either!!"

"I can't help it!!" he sobbed. "I miss her!! I miss her too much!!!"

Vegeta uncrossed his arms, shaking visibly. "Just... go to sleep, alright!!!"

Vegeta jumped onto his bed, closing his eyes as the soft firm mattress lulled him to sleep.

He didn't want to admit it, but ever since Bulma died, he hadn't had a single night of sleep. He would just sit there, waiting... waiting for her to come... and she never did... she never did come back.

How long had she been hiding this from him? Why didn't she tell him? Why would she keep him in the dark like that....???

Grunting, he got up from the bed, and went to the kitchen dining table, resting his elbows on the table, and his chin on the back of his hands.

He missed her... he missed her too much... He missed her sarcasm.... the way she smiled even in times of hardship... and he missed how she touched him... like he was the last being in the universe... he missed her.... god, he missed her so much!!!

"Vegeta?" came a soft whisper.

He turned around quickly, and there she was... standing right in front of him. She had a pained look in her face as she watched the crooked look of pain in her husbands face. "I know I don't have much time here, but... I needed to tell you something....

"Goku tried to wish me back, but... if he did... I would just die from the disease... so instead he... wished for you and I... to spend a moment alone... together... for the last time..."

"Why didn't you tell me?" he croaked. "Why?"

"I didn't tell you, because... I loved you too much. And if you knew about it... everything would be... so strange... I didn't want anything to be strange between us. I wanted to feel normal... I wanted everyone to be happy... so that once I was gone... you wouldn't have to suffer my loss too much. Vegeta... I am asking you just one favor. Please... take care of Trunks.... he needs you now... more than ever."

He stood up, and headed straight towards her, snaking his arms around her waist. "Trunks will be in good hands, woman... don't worry about him... he is safe with me." he murmured, resting his head in the crook of her neck. "I think I... feel better now." he admitted.

"Thank Goku. After all... he made this possible... but I'm afraid my time is running short. Don't tell Trunks about this... he will be devastated.

"I won't." he murmured, placing a gentle kiss on her lips before he didn't have any time to do so.

"Goodbye."

She disappeared into a puff of smoke. Vegeta sank back into his chair....

She was gone... gone for good.....

But seeing her just one last time...

Made him feel better.

And that was all he asked for.

So... tell me if it was good? Bad?? R&R!!
