18 And Gohans Big Match

Who will survive and who wont?

18 awoke to a cloudy morning and brushed the semi-dried tears away from her cold cheeks. The memories of the past rushed at her and she again heard her brothers anguished screams as he was disintegrated by Trunks. 18 to afraid and to heartbroken flew away as fast as she could. She the mighty 18 had run away. The invisible bond that she had always been able to feel connecting her and her brother had disappeared. 18 stayed lying down for a few more minutes and then stood up. She gracefully wiped off her clothes and brushed her hair back with her free hand. She flew to the nearest city that her and her brother had destroyed and started to blast the already destroyed city.

"Why!" She screamed over and over again into the heavy cold air.

"Because he was killing to many people." Someone answered from behind her.

"I'm not hurting anyone." 18 replies coldly to Krillin.

"I know that but I had to come check it out anyway." Krillin replies.

"So you checked it now leave." 18 says to the small monk.

"You should stop this before Trunks or Gokou show up." Krillin says walking towards her.

"If he comes I hope he kills me." 18 says and fly's farther into the city away from Krillin.

Krillin naturally being in love with her was very shocked to hear her say that. He follows her until she stops and whirls on him.

"Why are you following me!" 18 shouts at Krillin angrily.

"Why did you say you wanted to die?" Krillin asks.

"Just leave me alone!" 18 shouts at him.

"Not until I'm sure you're alright." Krillin replies.

"Even if I wasn't fine I wouldn't want help from a pitiful human like you." 18 replies and turns away from Krillin before she decides to blast him right then and there.

Krillin sensing her mood knows she is not all right and needs help.

"Listen to me I know your not all right so don't lie to me I want to help you." Krillin says to the distraught 18.

"I don't need you I need my brother." 18 says. (Means quieter)

Krillin just caught the last part and shook his head sadly.

"I know you miss your brother and he is probably the only one you really trusted." Krillin says to 18.

18's back stiffens and she tries to hold back the hot burning tears.

"Listen to me I miss my brother and I have been through things you cant begin to imagine." 18 says angrily as tears spill from her eyes.

"I know that you have been through a lot and I want to help you forget them." Krillin says.

"Like I said I don't want your help." 18 says to Krillin.

"Even if you don't want my help doesn't mean you don't need it." Krillin replies and hugs her from behind.

Its all 18 can take she falls to her knees and covers her face with her hands and cries.

"Why me?" 18 asks aloud and lets Krillin rock her slowly back and forth.

"All this destruction this was not your fault you just fell victim to an evil scheme." Krillin replies rocking her like a scared child.

"I feel so empty so helpless." 18 says softly.

"I know but I'll do all I can to chase that pain away." Krillin says.

18 regains her composure and stands up swiftly.

"Sorry about that my memory chip must be on the fritz I gotta go see ya never." 18 blasts off too quick for Krillin to follow.

"18" Krillin sighs and heads to Gokou's house.

18 was flying blindly through the woods and slowly came to a stop she fell on her knees and tried to stop trembling.

Meanwhile Krillin was having a tough time trying to explain to the others why they shouldn't kill 18.

"Listen guys. I saw her today and I don't think she wants to continue killing people." Krillin says to the others.

"But Krillin, she killed thousands of people." Trunks argues.

"So did Vegeta." Krillin retorts.

"We know" Gokou replies.

"My point is we can't say all of us haven't done things as bad or even worse than she has done." Krillin says and looks everyone in the eye.

"He has a point." Gohan says.

"That he does." Gokou says.

"So you won't kill her?" Krillin asks.

"Not unless we need to." Gokou says.

Months pass and no sign of 18 or her rampaging. Krillin constantly worries about her but since she has no Ki to follow he cant find her. One day he calls up Bulma and asks her to make a tracking device especially for finding 18. In two days she had the tracker done and ready for use.

"Here you go Krillin. Just press this green button and follow the bleeping dot." Bulma says and hands him the tracker.

"Thanks. I'll be back as soon as I find her!" Krillin shouts.

He runs out of the capsule corporation and starts to follow the signal. He runs into Gohan a few miles away and Gohan decides to come with Krillin incase he needs backup. A few hours of tracking and they end up in a lush forest. They follow the tracker to a hidden cave, which they enter carefully.

"Why would she be in here?" Gohan asks.

"I don't know." Krillin says.

In the way back they found 18 curled into a fetal position barely breathing.

"What's wrong with her?" Gohan asks.

Krillin notices 3 empty beakers next to her.

"I think she poisoned herself." Krillin says.

"Why?" Gohan asks.

"See these beakers I have a feeling they didn't hold water." Krillin says.

"Well why would she want to die?" Gohan asks.

"I don't know but we better get her to Denday's and quick." Krillin picks 18 up and notes how pale and sickly she looks.

They fly as quickly as they can to Denday's and shouted for him.

"Denday are you here?" Gohan shouts.

"Yes Gohan, I'm here. What's all the commotion about?" Denday asks of his childhood and current friend.

"It's 18. I think she poisoned herself." Gohan says.

Krillin lays 18 down on the pavement and waits for Denday to heal her.

"I don't know. After all, she is evil." Denday says.

"No I don't think she had any control over what she did in the past and she hasn't hurt anyone since her brother was killed." Krillin says to Denday.

"This is true." Denday says.

"Please Denday she needs a second chance." Gohan says.

"Alright." Denday says and leans over 18.

He starts to heal her and her breathing starts to ease and eventually go back to normal. Her face turns back to its natural color and she starts to stir. Denday finishes and stands up. 18 doesn't awaken she just lies there and moans softly.

"I think she is probably weak and needs her rest. I think it best she stays here." Denday says.

"I agree" Krillin says and picks up 18 and carries her to the room Denday points to.

"Thank you." Gohan says to Denday.

"I was glad to help you Gohan but please I hope you made the right choice. You may stay here in these 2 rooms across from hers incase you need to control her when she awakens." Denday points to the 2 rooms and walks off.

"Well we might as well stay here for a while." Krillin says to Gohan.

"Yeah I guess." Gohan replies and walks into his room.

Krillin walks into 18's room and sits by the bedside for a few hours. Five hours later Krillin was asleep and 18 was just waking up. 18 moans and stirs a bit in her bed and knocks Krillin's hand off her own.

"Gohan I think she's waking up!" Krillin yells.

Gohan enters the room 2 seconds before 18 wakes up.

"What!" 18 shouts and jumps up shocked at her surroundings.

"Its ok 18 you're safe now." Krillin says to 18 soothingly.

"I wish I could say the same for you." 18 shoots at Krillin.

Krillin dodges them and in a split second Gohan had 18 in a submission hold.

"Give it up 18 you cant get away from me." Gohan hisses in 18's ear.

She stops struggling and relaxes slightly so Gohan could release her.

"No more tricks?" Krillin asks 18.

18 shakes her head yes and then adds.

"I won't hurt you unless I have to." 18 snarls at Gohan.

"You won't have to." Krillin says.

"Yeah that's what you think." 18 hisses under her breath.

Gohan doesn't hear her so lets her up. 18 quickly bursts through the window and sprays glass everywhere, cutting herself in several places, including her neck and wrist.

"18! Come back!" Krillin yells as loud as he can.

"Krillin look." Gohan points to the floor and the shards of glass covered in blood.

"What did she do to herself?" Krillin asks.

"We better find her." Gohan says to Krillin.

"I agree completely." Krillin says and bursts out the window behind Gohan.

"What dose the tracker say?" Gohan asks Krillin.

"She isn't that far away." Krillin says and heads to the South.

They end up on a deserted beach with an abandoned cottage.

"Where is she?" Gohan asks.

"The tracker says she is in that cottage." Krillin replies and flies down to the ground.

Gohan follows and lands right behind Krillin and walks along the beach and into the cabin. They walk very carefully and make sure they don't leave any place unsearched. 18 watches them from above, she was sitting on a rafter and watching very carefully through cat like eyes. A small drop of blood hits the floor beside Gohan.

"Hey Krillin." Gohan whispers and with his eyes signals that she is above them.

Krillin nodded his head and pretended to continue searching when he was really waiting to help Gohan. Gohan flew up too quick for 18's eyes to follow. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly.

"Let me go!" 18 shouts and tries to break the submission hold.

"Not on my life" Gohan says back.

"What are you trying to do save me?" 18 asks.

"Yes" Gohan says and hands her to Krillin.

"Why? Why try to save me again for the third time?" 18 asks.

"Just think of it as a third chance to do what you know is right." Krillin says to the struggling 18.

"Will you stay still already?" Gohan asks fighting off the urge to hit 18.

"Why should I?" 18 asks.

Then Krillin accidentally touches one of 18's gashes on her wrist. 18 clenches her teeth and hisses.

"That's why" Gohan says.

Gohan rips a piece of his shirt off and covers the wound and pulls it tightly.

"Where else are you hurt?" Gohan asks.

"Where can you see?" 18 asks not giving him the pleasure of an answer.

"Well, your face, your neck, your hands and some on your thigh and inner thigh." Gohan answers.

"Well, there you have it," 18 says.

"Wait. It looks like she has a few cuts on her back. The material is torn and her undershirt is stained with blood." Krillin says.

"We better get her back to Dendays." Gohan says to Krillin.

They head off to see Denday once more and Krillin had to give 18 to Gohan because he couldn't hold her and try not to touch any cuts and fly at the same time. They got to the guardians lookout tower and Gohan dropped her and sat on her to keep her from getting away again.

"Denday, she's hurt again. Can you come and heal her for us?" Gohan shouts.

"Ow! You baka monkey that was my ear you shouted into!" 18 shouts into his ear.

"Sorry" Gohan says to 18.

"Yeah, sure you are" 18 says sarcastically.

"How did she get hurt again?" Denday asks as he comes out of the hallway onto the platform.

"She flew through the window and cut herself on the glass." Gohan replies.

"No duh!" 18 says and rolls her eyes.

"You want me to fix her?" Denday says.

"Yeah. Hey forgive her. She's kinda been through a lot lately," Krillin says to Denday apologetically.

"I kind of noticed. She was only on the news in the past destroying every city she came across." Denday says.

"That wasn't her fault. She didn't want to do all that stuff. I know she didn't." Krillin says.

"I will heal her but on one condition." Denday says.

"What?" Krillin asks.

"She has to promise that she will not kill another innocent bystander or destroy another city." Denday says.

"I don't think she will." Gohan says.

"18 please agree." Krillin pleads.

"No!" 18 answers sharply and simply.

"Why?" Krillin asks desperately.

"None of your business." 18 replies.

"Please 18 I don't want you to die. And you don't deserve to die." Krillin says and looks at 18 lovingly.

"Says who?" 18 asks glaring at Gohan.

"I say so and my friends do to if they hadn't said so you'd be dead now." Krillin says.

"So, and your point being." 18 snaps at him.

Gohan catches a look in her eyes that he thought he would never see in her eyes. She looked sad, no more then sad she looked like she was scared and vulnerable.

"What are you looking at sayain?" 18 snaps when she catches Gohan's warm kind gaze.

"Uh nothing." Gohan lies.

"Well for nothing I certainly feel like something." 18 retorts.

"You know what I mean." Gohan says.

"Whatever!" 18 shouts and clenches her teeth as one of her systems shuts down.

"We know you're in some sort of pain." Gohan says to 18.

"And again your point is?" 18 asks between clenched teeth.

"Please promise Denday what he asks." Krillin pleads.

"No!" 18 says and brakes away from Gohan.

Even in her weakened state she still was more then enough for Gohan. She quickly kicked him in the knee and knocked him over she then flew straight into the air but Gohan caught hold of her ankle.

"Let go of me!" 18 screams but Gohan ignores her.

Gohan slams her back onto her back and lies on top of her.

"Get off of me you jerk!" 18 yells loudly.

Gohan again ignores her and continues to lie on her.

"Not until you promise!" Gohan yells back.

"No!" 18 yells back.

"We don't want you to die we think you deserve a second chance." Denday says.

"Well I don't." 18 says.

"18 listen to me we know you have been through more then your share of pain but its time to put that in your past." Gohan says to 18.

"Easy for you to say my past is my future I cant change the fact that things in my past will constantly control and effect my future." 18 says and she hears a click.

18's system is shutting down slowly she can feel it inside of her and the flashing warning in front of her eyes wasn't easy to ignore. She had cut a major wire in her wrist when she went through the window and it was killing her slowly.

"18 just agree we can help you cover the pain of your past." Krillin says.

"If I say yes and I don't feel happy with your help and my pain is the same will you leave me alone to die if I wish it that way?" 18 asks.

Krillin is about to object but Gohan jumps into the conversation.

"We agree." Gohan says to 18.

"Fine then I promise Denday." 18 says.

"Ok" Denday says and starts to work on her.

Denday kneels and starts to heal her 18 can feel her systems start to function again and the warning is no longer flashing. Denday stands up and helps Gohan help 18 to her feet.

"We better find you a place to stay." Krillin says.

"How about I stay wherever I want to stay." 18 says in a mocking voice.

"We have to keep an eye on you." Gohan says.

"How about she stays at Bulma's." Krillin says.

"Not with Vegeta there." Gohan says.

"How about your house you are stronger then me and there are no perverts in your house." Krillin says referring to Master Roshi and Oolong.

"I don't know how my mom would take to that." Gohan says.

"It's worth a try." Krillin say.

"At least we can try." Gohan agrees.

They head to Chichi's house and 18 tries to fly away but Gohan is to fast for her and is constantly catching her till he decides to carry her. 18 doesn't appreciate this and is constantly struggling.

"I can fly on my own." 18 says and tries to break free of her bondage.

"I know you can that's why I'm carrying you" Gohan says.

"Whatever." 18 says and crosses her arms and pouts.

Gohan smiles at her because she looks like a teenager who isn't allowed to drive yet. Gohan suppresses a laugh and flies faster to his home.

"Here we are." Gohan says and lands and puts 18 on her feet.

"About time you are so slow you know." 18 says and brushes herself off gracefully.

Gohan rolls his eyes because he knows that he is faster then she is.

"Mom can you come here!" Gohan shouts.

"Hold on Gohan!" Chi-chi yells.

A few minutes later she comes down with Goten.

"I see you have a new addition to your family." 18 points out.

"Android 18 what is she doing here?" Chi-chi shouts in fear and holds Goten closely.

"Don't worry Mom she's not here to hurt us." Gohan says.

"Then why is she here? 18 hasn't shown up since 17 was destroyed." Chi-chi asks releasing Goten.

"She has made a deal with us and she wont kill anyone again so we need for her to stay with us incase she goes back on her word." Gohan says.

"But the first one she'd kill would be us." Chi-chi protests.

"No she wont I'll be here." Gohan says.

"If you think you can handle it its alright with me." Chi-chi says.

"Thanks Mom." Gohan says and kisses his mother on the cheek.

"You better find your dad and tell him before he comes home to find her here unexpected." Chi-chi says to her son.

Gohan agrees so he tells Krillin to stay there with 18 until he got back.

"So where is she going to stay?" Krillin asks.

"There is a room upstairs that is fully decorated and is not in use." Chi-chi says and leads the to the guestroom. Krillin has to drag 18 up to the room by her arm.

"So who's the kid?" 18 asks.

"That's Goten and I must warn you he is exactly like his father." Krillin says and smiles.

"Great!" 18 says and rolls her eyes.

"Don't worry their very nice. You may connect with Chi-chi her being a girl and all." Krillin says and stops in front of the room Chi-chi points to.

"Here is the spare room." Chi-chi says and walks down stairs and Goten stays.

"Goten do you want something?" Krillin asks.

"Who is she?" Goten asks.

"This is Android 18 I'm sure your Dad told you about her and 17." Krillin says.

"But isn't she evil?" Goten asks.

"Not really once you get to know her she can be very nice in her own way." Krillin says.

"I don't think so." 18 says and walks into the room and plops down on the bed a stares at the ceiling while Goten watches her warily Krillin goes to see Chi-chi.

"Hey Chi-chi do you think you can try to be like a friend to her?" Krillin asks.

"I can try." Chi-chi replies.

"Thanks Chi-chi." Krillin says and walks back up to the room.

18 was still on the bed but Goten had taken a few steps towards her in the few minutes he had been gone.

"Where's your family?" Goten asks.

18 looks a little ticked off by the question but she answers it with mild disdain.

"I don't know for all I know they could live 20 miles away from here." 18 says.

"Why don't you know?" Goten asks.

"Because I don't ok!" 18 shouts.

"Goten maybe you should leave." Krillin warns.

"Why? She can't hurt me." Goten says.

"I'm not so sure she cant we don't know what she was up to the years we didn't see or hear of her." Krillin says.

"That's right for all you know I could have booted my strength far beyond even your brother Gohans." 18 snarls.

"No way my brother is the strongest person alive. Besides isn't he the one who dragged you here." Goten points out.

"Hey I was injured you little runt!" 18 shouts.

"Goten don't push it we really don't know how strong she could have gotten over those years." Krillin says.

"I don't care I know she wont hurt me I can see it in her eyes." Goten says.

Krillin's eyes widen and he gasps.

"You can see that?" Krillin asks.

"Yeah it's a gift." Goten says.

18 blushes and quickly turns around so he couldn't see her face or her blush.

"Its true isn't it?" Krillin asks.

"I can read your eyes cant I?" Goten asks.

"No no one can see through me unless its my brother." 18 replies.

"Oh then why don't you look at us?" Krillin asks.

"Because you two are so sickening if I do I might have a relapse in my illness." 18 replies.

"Yeah sure you're blushing I can feel it." Goten says.

"How?' 18 asks.

"Just a hunch." Goten says.

"Well fine I am going to turn around so you can see you were wrong." 18 turns around after she is sure the blush is gone.

"You could have stopped it while we were talking." Goten says.

"Are you calling me a liar?" 18 growls.

"Yeah." Goten says.

Krillin finally picks Goten up and drags him downstairs.

"Gokou! You're back! How was your day?" Chi-chi calls out the window to Gokou and Gohan.

"Fine Chi-chi now where is this android?" Gokou asks menacingly.

18 gulps because she can hear every word that is spoken.

"She is upstairs in the spare room." Chi-chi replies.

18 starts to think quickly.

(Well technically I never agreed to stay here. I just promised not to kill anyone on the streets in the cities that sort of thing.) 18 shakes her head in agreement with herself.

(I'm outa here.)

18 fly's out the open window and away from the house as fast as she could. Gokou enters the room with Gohan, Krillin, Mirari Trunks, and Vegeta.

"Where is she?" Gokou asks.

"She must have runaway again." Gohan answers.

"Why would she do that? No one threatened her." Gokou asks.

"Maybe she heard you joking down stairs when you tried to sound mean." Gohan answers.

"Oh, oops." Gokou says and blushes while he puts his hand behind his head.

"We better find her before she makes up her mind about our agreement." Gohan says.

"What agreement?" Gokou asks.

"I'll tell you on the way." Gohan answers and fly's off with the others.

18 was still flying when the others spotted her.

"Oh man." 18 curses to herself out loud.

"There she is, get her!" Gokou yells to the others.

18 fly's faster and escapes by millimeters. She then hides in an abandoned warehouse. She flies in and hurriedly finds a place to hide and wait for the Z fighters to pass. Inside the warehouse it is like a maze of corridors. It would be impossible to find one person hiding in the building. 18 fly's as far as she can into the maze without totally losing all sense of up and down. She stops and sits on the cold hard floor. The others fly into the warehouse and wait for any sign of her whereabouts.

"So where is she?" Gohan asks Krillin.

"I can't tell the signal is being interrupted by something this tracker is useless in here." Krillin replies putting it away.

"Great this place is like a big maze how are we suppose to find her without help?" Gohan asks.

"We could split up and try to find her on our own." Gokou suggests.

"Ok just this time will you please try to keep your joking at a minimum." Gohan says.

"Alright I wont scare her again." Gokou replies to his son and they all split up.

The group split up and went in different directions that were chosen for them by Gokou.

"I wonder where she could be?" Krillin asks himself softly.

The individuals walk slowly through the room and look very closely at every turn and every corridor.

"I'll be surprised if she isn't lost herself." Krillin says to himself.

Mirari Trunks had run into Gokou and they were searching together trying to find her as soon as possible. The others were having no luck in finding 18 so they decided to take a little break. When Mirari Trunks and Gokou ran into a split in the maze they decided to split up again. All the others were enjoying a nice long break. 18 on

the other hand was still trying to avoid getting lost herself. She was not going to fly because she didn't want to be caught in their line of view.18 was a master at sneaking around like a hunter on the prowl. 18 was very careful she always looked around a corner before she went around. 18 was smart she knew how to avoid them she had the experience of a few years. 18 quietly but swiftly walked around in the maze. She looked around for awhile until she decided she was safer staying where she was. 18 sat down and crossed her arms and sighed in frustration. She hadn't heard anything from the others yet and she didn't want to either. 18 sat there in silence and waited praying that no one would find her especially Gokou. She had never actually hurt Gokou or anything so she couldn't understand why he sounded like he wanted to murder her. 18 laid back and stared at the ceiling for awhile. She started to get drowsy and tried to stay awake but was slowly giving into her loss of energy. 18 sleeps soundly and that is exactly how Gohan finds her. Curled into a tight ball she is in a sound but restless sleep. Gohan watches as she tosses and turns as she is trying to escape her terrible dreams. Gohan walks up to her slowly and strokes her head gently. Gohan looks at her lovingly and picks her up into his lap. Gokou stumbles upon them but does not make his presence known. Gokou knows this is a delicate situation and does not want to ruin it for his son. Gokou steps back and makes a little noise to alert his son of his presence so he can pretend nothing was going on. Gohan stands up quickly and makes it look as if he had just found her. Gokou walks around the corner and smiles at his son.

"Hey you found her." Gokou says quietly as to not disturb 18.

"Yeah I guess I did." Gohan says and picks her up gently.

"Well we better get to the others before she wakes up." Gokou says to his son.

"Actually Dad I think it may be a good idea if you explain to her first that you wont hurt her." Gohan says.

"That's a good idea." Gokou replies blushing.

"Hey 18 wake up." Gohan gently shakes her awake.

"Hm…" 18 slowly wakes up and her eyes focus.

18 looks around and slowly realizes where she is and who is with her.

"Omigod! Pleasedon'tkillmeI'msorryIrealizenowIwaswrong." 18 screams and claws at Gohan trying to get away from Gokou.

"18 listen to me, I was never going to hurt you I was only pretending. I am very glad to hear you say you are sorry and I want to forgive you of all you have done." Gokou says and grasps her shoulder.

18 whips away the tears she had shed and looked up at Gohan who she realized was holding her protectively even lovingly.

"Gohan?" 18 questions.

"Yes 18?" Gohan asks nervously.

"Can I stay like this a little longer?" 18 asks blushing.

"Why?" Gohan asks.

"I feel safe here." 18 replies for only him to hear.

"You can stay like this as long as you like." Gohan replies.

18 eventually falls asleep in his lap and Gohan stands and walks with his father.

"What are you going to tell Krillin? Gokou asks his son.

"Tell him about what?" Gohan asks.

"That you are in love with 18." Gokou replies.

"I cant he will hate me." Gohan replies.

"If he is a true friend he will understand." Gokou replies.

"Your right Dad, I'll tell him as soon as I know she feels the same for me." Gohan replies.

"Gohan look at her." Gokou points to the child like 18 asleep in Gohans arms smiling no less.

"I know but that doesn't mean she loves me." Gohan replies.

"Give her time she will show it soon." Gokou replies.

"Yeah but I still don't know how to break it to Krillin." Gohan says sadly.

"Don't worry if them two were meant to be it would be so." Gokou says.

"I guess so." Gohan says.

"Hey you found her!" Krillin shouts as he turns the corner.

"Yeah we did." Gokou answers.

"Well we better bring her back to your house Gokou. And could you keep the fake threats under control?" Krillin says smiling happily.

"Don't worry we got it all straitened out she's not afraid anymore." Gokou says.

"Well that's good but still keep it low." Krillin says.

"We better get going before Mom starts to worry about us." Gohan says.

Gokou knew why he was cutting off the conversation so quickly and was in a hurry anyway so decided to pick up the pace also.

"Gohan is right we should get back we all know how much the women can worry about us." Gokou says.

They send out a ki signal and gather all the others and head for home. It took them a few hours but they made it home before Chi-chi had begun to worry too much.

"Mom were back!" Gohan shouts in to the house.

Chi-chi comes running out side and hugs Gohan as tight as she can.

"Oh Gohan I was so worried about you." Chi-chi says in a rush.

"I'm fine Mom so don't worry about me so much ok." Gohan says.

"Oh and I see you found her." Chi-chi says pointing disgustedly to 18 in Gohans arms.

Surprisingly 18 had slept through Chi-chi's hug. Gohan followed his mother's hateful glare down to 18's child like slumber.
