**Athena found herself in a room that looked much like the one she had as a little girl, only decorated in blue instead of red. `What is going on? Where am I?' Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw a tiny Vegeta. `Ok, this is weird.' He looked to be around 7 or 8.

A booming male voice invaded her ears. "Prince Vegeta, your father wishes to see you in the throne room immediately. Without a word of acknowledgement, the small boy walked out of the room and towards what Athena assumed was the throne room.

Vegeta approached the oak doors and stopped for a moment as he heard his father screaming at a servant about something or another. He strolled in, followed closely by the semi-transparent female Saiyan. His father looked up at him. "Vegeta, you are not yet old enough to choose your mate but I believe that I know who it shall be." The small boy just shrugged his shoulders not really caring. His father continued, "Princess Hera is one of the strongest and proudest females on all of Vegeta-Sei. I believe that her first-born daughter shall be your mate. Do you have any objections to this match?" King Vegeta's only son shook his head no. "Good, I shall give Hera the necklace needed on your sixteenth birthday. **

Athena woke up only slightly as the dream ended. `Did Vegeta really know who his mate would be that young?' Her thought slowly blurred into a haze as sleep overtook her body again.

** Athena floated down from seemingly nowhere. Her eyes focused on a slightly older Vegeta. He was sitting in the center of a circle of dead men. They looked to have been destroyed by a powerful ki blast. He slowly took a cracker out of his pocket and started to eat it. A small beep could be heard as his index finger ran over his scouter. "Yes?"

She could hear a muffled male voice come from the earpiece. "Prince Vegeta, terrible news. It seems planet Vegeta was destroyed. There appear to be no survivors. Frieza sends his condolences. Do you have a reply?"

Vegeta took another bite of his cracker as his face remained stoic. "No reply." **

** She appeared in a new place. `This looks like Earth.' She sat down on a cliff face and looked down at a group of people. She recognized Krillen, Piccolo, Yamcha, and a small boy that looked just like her nephew Gohan. Two other men stood there with them.

Wondering why they all seemed so tense, she heard Krillen whisper to Gohan conspiratorially. "Gohan, do you think Bulma wished Goku back yet?" Gohan nodded slowly, as if unsure of the answer himself.

A familiar voice rang out in her ears from seemingly nowhere. "I thought Kakarot was coming to save your worthless hides." Athena's eyes focused on the all too memorable man. Flame shaped, ebony hair, deep, endless onyx eyes, the strong, powerful facial features, and the muscular body that she had come to admire pointed to one person, Vegeta. Beside him was a taller, ugly, bald Saiyan. "No matter, Nappa, get these wretches out of my sight."

The taller Saiyan, now known as Nappa, slowly stepped forward as a smile engulfed his lips. "With pleasure Prince Vegeta." The battle began soon after. The two strangers fell fairly quickly. The next one to be defeated was the green man known as Piccolo, followed closely by the lecher that she knew all too well as Yamcha. As Nappa battled Krillen, the little bald man seemed to hold his own for a while before he was tossed carelessly into the cliff face that Athena happened to be standing on. Gohan finally took on the taller Saiyan. After what seemed like an eternity, Nappa was thrown back to land at Vegeta's feet, defeated.

Vegeta looked down at his counterpart with disgust. "Nappa, arise." The older Saiyan stood. "Nappa, you disgust me. You let a half-breed Saiyan defeat you. Let me know how you like the next dimension." Nappa's eyes widened in realization but before he could scream, Vegeta had put a ki blast through his heart, destroying him. **

Athena sat up in her bed, her breathing slightly more labored than usual. `Why am I seeing these things? It was almost as if…I was seeing memories.' She looked over at her clock and noticed that it was almost 8 AM in the morning. Sighing softly, she slid her legs out of her bed and stood. Walking into the bathroom slowly, she got ready for her day.

Vegeta got out of his bed and ambled into the bathroom. Looking into the mirror, he sighed. "So the onna does accept me…she shared memories." He went about his day and got dressed in baggy black pants and a red shirt. His finger slowly made their way up into his hair and smoothed through it.

Walking out of his room slowly, he almost ran right into Athena. He looked her over, noticing that she was, again, wearing her favorite color, red. Her red t-shirt had black words written across the chest that read ~Your boyfriend thinks I'm hot~ and her tight shorts showed off her toned legs. His eyes stopped at her eyes and he smirked slightly. "Onna, you may want to watch where you're walking."

Her emerald eyes bore into his onyx ones as if trying to find his soul. "Vegeta, you and I need to talk…you know more than you let on. I had…dreams last night. They were almost like memories, your memories." Her eyes showed her guarded emotions.

"Onna, they were. I never knew that your attitude was so much like mine. You seemed quite cold as you said goodbye to your mother." He smirked slightly.

Her eyes hardened. He had touched a sensitive subject and had not even been aware of it. "At least I cared when my people died. You couldn't have cared less!" She turned around and stormed away from him, leaving him stunned. She walked out the front door and slammed it.

Athena relaxed as she found a secluded place in the woods to be alone. Levitating herself just above the trees, she started to meditate. Not even five minutes later, Goku came flying by. He slowed down and stopped in front of her. "Hi Athena ho-WHOAH!" He had to use instant transmission to avoid a huge ki blast that she released from her palm. "Let me guess, Vegeta?"

She let out a menacing growl and opened her eyes to glare at her brother. "That man is insufferable! He had the nerve to tell me that I was cold to my mother when I said goodbye to her! This from the one who didn't care when his home was blown up."

"How would either of you - you accepted him didn't you?" He tried his hardest not to laugh at the look of sheer confusion that engulfed her features. "You and Vegeta didn't talk about this, did you?" The snarl that escaped her lips answered the question for him. "Tell you what, you need to blow off some steam and I need to train, want to spar?" She gave him a slight nod. "Then follow me." He took off quickly with Athena right behind him.

They sped towards a barren place outside of the city. As they landed Athena walked over to her brother for a moment, staring at him. "I know how strong you are Goku. Don't bother to take it easy on me. I can handle myself." With that, she walked a few feet away from him and dropped into a fighting stance.

He studied her for a moment. `Kami help us if she and Vegeta ever have children.' He smiled at the thought. He had been worried about his reluctant friend after his wife had died and Athena was just what the proud man needed. He dropped into his own stance. "Alright, I never attack first in a spar, go for it little sister."

She growled at his attitude and launched herself at him. Goku let her land a punch before he started to fight back. He landed a punch to her chest and she stumbled back. "Okay Kakarot…that's it!" She screamed in rage and he watched in fascination as her flaming hair turned golden and her emerald eyes turned cerulean. He smirked and did the same. "Good, now that we're on equal ground, let's play."
