Heart And Soul of the Saiyain Prince
There once was a prince who was very young and very energetic. He was the prince of a powerful race of warriors, the Saiyains. Prince Vegeta was not alone because he had a twin sister. The only thing he openly cared about was her. They were each total opposites but together they were the perfect warrior. She was his heart and soul while he was her strength and fighting spirit. This is not the story of Prince Vegeta because that has been told. This is the story of his heart and soul, his twin sister, Princess Regina.
Chapter Three:
Piccolo and Dende exchanged their worried looks. And Regina noticed. "Piccolo, I thank you for showing me what I have missed."
Piccolo glanced at her and then away as if he was uneasy with her presence. "I'll just come out and say this since no one else will. Are you our enemy?"
Regina was impressed; no one ever had the gall to be so forward with her, but she knew Piccolo. He had shown the past and she understood him. But Vegeta smirked and before Regina could answer, he spoke up, "Are you worried, Namek? You feel it, don't you? She is the only one who is my equal."
"Geta!" Regina scolded, suddenly angry, then she adjusted her attention back to Piccolo. "I will not lie to you. I am someone you should fear, but for now, I am not your enemy."
Her words did not soothe Piccolo, at all. But Gohan was not phased by her words. It seemed the boy had developed a crush on the Saiyain woman. Suddenly her tail unwrapped from her waist and it flicked nervously, she was hoping the words would get to Gohan, not Piccolo. The Namek really feared Saiyains and she really couldn't blame him.
"Gina. Come." Vegeta said those two words gruffly and it made Regina wince.
"Farewell, I am sure we will be seeing each other again, Piccolo." Regina mocked her brother's smirk, "And you, as well, first brat of Kakarott."
Now that title made Gohan uneasy; she was starting to seem a little too much like Vegeta. Vegeta took to the air and Regina followed him.
Meanwhile, the boys landed at Capsule Corp. After a confusing exaggerating tale by the boys, Bulma had figured out this much. There was a pretty woman in a tube and she was Saiyain. Vegeta called her Princess Regina. Supposedly she was going to be staying at Capsule Corp. Like hell, Bulma thought, she is probably some floozy from Vegeta's past. Also the boys said something about her strangling them and not letting them eat. She definitely sounded like a Saiyain.
"Okay, explain it one more time. Who is Princess Regina? Is she Vegeta's wife?" Bulma asked the boys.
"And if I am?" Regina walked in with Vegeta beside her.
"You jerk! You never told me you were married! And I don't care if you thought she was dead!" Bulma shouted at Vegeta.
Vegeta didn't dignify her with a response.
Regina, on the other hand, had certain tests to see if Bulma was worthy. Regina wrapped her arms around her shorter brother. "I have come to reclaim my prince. You must fight me if you want to keep him as your mate."
"What are you doing, Gina?" Vegeta gave his sister a sideways glare.
"You can have him." Bulma tilted her nose up.
Regina looked at Bulma shocked but she looked inside the woman's heart. She found only love for her brother and their child.
"You really are no fun." Regina pouted. "I haven't had a fight in a long time. But really, I don't know how it is on your planet but on ours we don't mate within family."
Bulma did a double-take as she looked from Vegeta to Regina. "Twins?"
"Yes… woman, did you really think I would hide a wife from you? With you and that third-class baka's wife, I couldn't hide anything." Vegeta folded his arms, smugly.
"Hmph." Bulma went back to the kids. "And why didn't you tell me she was his twin?"
Goten quickly blurted out. "Because Trunks said not to."
"Goten!" Trunks covered his friend's mouth and looked from the angry face of his mother to his father. Regina was smiling, amused by the boy.
"As devious as his father was at his age." Regina shook her head at the memories of Vegeta giving King Vegeta a hard time.
"I guess you're right." Vegeta smiled, as well. "I would have done the same thing, given the opportunity."
"Don't encourage him!" Bulma squealed. "Now Go
ten, it's time for you to go home."
"But mom, Goten was spending the night!" Trunks whined.
"Not anymore, you are grounded! Making a fool of your own mother!" Bulma pointed sternly at the staircase. "Now go! You too, Goten."
Goten made a pouting face. "Did I do something wrong?"
Trunks stormed up the stairs and slammed the door to his room.
"No, Goten. It wasn't you. But you have to go home, now." Bulma sighed, how the boy reminded her of Goku.
"He shouldn't be out so late. I will go with him. I would like to meet Kakarott." Regina volunteered. "You want me fly with you, Goten?"
"Yeah!" Goten smiled.
"Well, I'll call Chichi and let her know." Bulma picked up the phone.
"I will go with you." Vegeta said.
"No. Please let me go on my own." Regina took Goten's small hand. "Ready?"
"Yes!" Goten giggled.
"Be careful of the baka's wife. She has a few loose screws." Vegeta warned.
"And I don't?" Regina chuckled.
Vegeta pulled his sister aside. "Kakarott's first son is very powerful and he is young."
"Yes, and he has developed a crush on me. I know what you are thinking and I'm not interested. You know I have always had such ideals for my mate. A princess deserves her prince, don't you think?"
"Well, just try him."
"Come on! I'm hungry!" Goten whined pulling at Regina's spandex suit.
Goten and Regina left with Goten leading the way. The stars shined brightly in the sky and Regina sensed a presence the entire way, watching her. She knew who it was and if he wanted to keep an eye on her, it was fine with her.
Goten landed outside his home and he opened the door as Regina landed. Gohan was there, smiling and greeting Regina.
"It is nice to see you, again, princess." Gohan said, a blush coming to his cheeks.
"What about me?" Goten said getting all teary-eyed and pouty.
"So you're Vegeta's sister? I'm Goku!" Goku came and greeted her.
"Ah, so you are Kakarott? Very powerful. I can see why my brother considers you his rival. I am Princess Regina."
"Gosh, you know I was kind of imagining you as looking more like Vegeta." Goku laughed and rubbed the back of his head. "You're as tall as me! And you don't have pointy hair!"
"We are not identical twins. I took much more after my mother. And I have no idea why Vegeta is so short." Regina giggled but quickly covered it, not wanting Gohan to get any ideas about her being soft. "So when do I get to meet your mate?"
Chichi came out looking angry, as usual. "Goten, time to go to bed."
Goten rushed to his room.
"You too, Gohan. It is a school night." Chichi tapped her foot impatiently at the boy.
"But, mom…" Gohan looked at his mother desperately, pleading with her to not make him look like a child.
"Gohan…" Chichi pointed to his room.
Gohan hung his head and went to his room.
"Yeah, Good night, kid." Princess Regina said sweetly, making sure to emphasis the word kid.
Gohan turned back and gave her a meek smile and a good night. The word kid had struck his heart. He realized that was all she saw him as and it was true. She was old enough to be his mother, but pure-blooded Saiyains tend to look younger than they actually are, because they age slower.
"Thank you for bringing Goten home." Chichi said icily.
"You are welcome. I did not think it was proper for the kid to fly home, alone, at this hour." Regina tried to be calm. The woman was really trying her.
"Well, it was nice meeting you. I'm sure you should be going, now." Chichi suggested not so bluntly.
"Yes, I should." Regina turned toward the door. "And Kakarott, forgive my brother. I feel it was my fault for many of the things he did."
"Bye! Come back and visit! I'd like a sparring match with you, sometime! You are very powerful, but I can't tell how powerful."
"Yes, I will fight you, one day. Hopefully, on friendly terms." Regina walked out, keeping her mysterious guise up.
The Saiyain princess took off into the sky. She sensed him still watching her. She landed in a grassy meadow and laid down on the soft grassy hill. She folded her hands behind her head and looked up at the stars.
Regina knew he was there hidden by the trees, watching her. She sighed softly; it had been a hard day on her. She remembered the day her brother and her were on Frieza's ship looking at the stars. She remembered it, like it was yesterday, because to her it was yesterday.
Even though fourteen years had passed, it was just yesterday.
Regina stretched out an arm and opened her hand, reaching for a star. The star closest to her home… what used to be her home. She could name each and every star and what planets… she and her brother had destroyed for Frieza.
"Let's see…" She pointed to a star. "Lerious… home to twenty billion… a hundred survivors."
Another star. "Gyeri… one hundred million… no survivors."
"Vegeta-sei… fifty million… now… three survivors."
Regina sighed again. She didn't feel like flying all the way back to Capsule Corp. and truthfully she wasn't sure where it was. This spot suited her just fine and it wasn't like she was alone. He was watching her.
She took off her armor, leaving her in just her crimson spandex. She lied back down and closed her eyes. Regina quickly fell asleep and begun to dream of all that happened to her brother while she was away.
He continued to watch her as she slept. He then went over to her and knelt down on the grass. He saw the tears on her face, a weakness a warrior would never want seen. So he wiped them away from her pale cheeks and he made his decision. He flew away and left her, feeling he no longer had to watch her.
Regina woke and then returned to Capsule Corp. following her brother's ki. She wasn't very good at sensing ki, but her brother was the exception. Needless to say, he was not too happy with her not returning last evening.
"It is time we trained." Vegeta said gruffly, pointing to the gravity pod.
"Crap." Regina mumbled.
Vegeta was ready to train his sister. She would become the warrior, she should be. And then, Kakarott would see the true power of a Saiyain.
****That's the end of Chapter Three. Let me know what you think. Give me some reviews. I know what you're thinking... who was it that was watching Regina? Was it Vegeta... or Gohan... or maybe someone else? And will Vegeta whip Regina into shape?****
