Chapter 4
Japan:
Pan lifted Aiko from the height chair and handed her over to Trunks. "Can this child get any messier while she is eating?" Trunks held her out as far from him as he could.
Pan gasped and wiped the baby tray with a paper towel. "You where the one who wanted spaghetti for dinner!"
"I wanted spaghetti! You didn't have to give it to her!" He walked across the room headed for the bathroom. It was the most used room in the house these days other then the laundry room. Setting Aiko on the floor he began to run the water. Turning she saw Aiko crawling back out toward the carpeted hallway. She ever looked up just one pudgy hand ahead of the other. Just like a little tank. "No! No! No! Trunks leaped after her scooping her up. She responded by patting her hand together and flicking splatters of red sauce in his face.
"How is it going in there?" Pan yelled down the hall.
"Aiko two." Trunks lifted her little pink dress off. Looking closely at it he tossed it into he garbage. "Daddy zero."
Pan walked into the doorway. Leaning there she smiled "It can't be that bad. After all I am the one with her every day all day."
Trunks took off the wet diaper and it followed the dress. "That was your choice. Personally I wanted you to follow Bra's lead and come work with me at Capsule."
"Work with you?" Pan laughed "I doubt work is what you had in mind."
Trunks set Aiko in the little boat that kept her from sinking down to far into the water. She laughed at the warm water and began slashing immediately. Trunks getting soaked, looking over his shoulder at a giggling Pan he sighed, "When will Goten get here?"
Pan looked at her watch "Soon. You know I am having second thoughts. Are you sure Goten can handle Aiko?"
"I doubt Frieza or Cell could have handled her." Trunks muttered under his breath. Scrubbing on his daughter's head with a washcloth he said. "Yes they will be fine. She is fed and soon she will be bathed and ready for bed. They will just end up watching cartoons and going to bed. Trust me! Goten and Aiko are not that different."
"I still don't think..." Pan started.
"ARRGGHH. Honey. I need a night alone with you." Trunks picked the baby out of the tub and wrapped her in a towel. As he walked past pan he kissed her quickly "I can't tell you how much." He stared into her eyes.
"Ohm, OK." Pan looked at the bathroom "This place is a mess."
The doorbell rang. Trunks juggled Aiko's squirming body from one arm to the other as he tried to dry her "Could you get that while I find her a sleeper suit."
"Sure." Pan watched him walk down the hall toward Aiko's room. It was so funny to see those two together. Walking to the door she opened it and Marron burst in.
"I am gonna choke him." She walked about five feet into the room before turning on Pan. "Do the men in your family have mental lapses when it comes to women??"
Pan blinked "Goten."
"Of course! I am not after your father after all!" Marron clinched her fists. "I would have a better chance though. Goten is just so… so UURRRGGHHHHH!"
Trunks voice shouted from Aiko's room "What did he do this time?"
Marron walked to look down the hall. "I asked him if he wanted to go out on a date. It took everything I had to work up the courage to ask" She looked at a puzzled Pan "and do you know what he said!?!"
"No." Pan flinched as the blonde tossed her arms up.
"He said it would be a great idea! Then he wanted to now who I was going to bring." Marron burst into tears. Pan gasped and shook her head. Trunks laughter just echoed through out the house.
Pan yelled down the hall "That is not funny. This is the man you want to leave alone with my baby!!" Pan turned and put a consoling arm around Marron "That'll shut Trunks up for a bit. Come into the kitchen with me and you can talk about it while I clean up the dishes."

The horse thundered through the ring. Mark leaned over it's neck rose in the saddle. Lifting off the ground they flew over the four and half foot fence. AHHH freedom. Sometimes he wished he could do that in his real life. Just jump the fence and escape. The white Quarter Horse was built more for running then jumping anyway. He slowed to a trot when he saw Bra standing on the large deck, the extended fro the end of the house.
"Bra!" He waved and neck reined the horse toward her.
"I didn't know you knew how to ride." Bra looked down at him.
"Me? Ride? Naw. I just own horse and saddled for nothing." Mark laughed "You should try it some it some time."
Bra shook her head. "I'd fall."
Mark slid back off the saddle and padded the seat. "Come on I would never let you fall." Bra twitched her lips as she considered it. "Tanner here is just a big baby. Aren't you, Tanner? The horse turned its ears to listen to Mark. Bra jumped over the balcony and floated down. "What the hey." She stood there looking up at Mark. For a second she remembered the legend of King Author and that knight guy, Lancelot. His brown hair was shining the sun, as he held his hand down to her. HE was smiling with warmth that reached right into his magnificent green eyes. The loose white shirt and the blue jeans half covered in dark black leather hunt boots. She took her time looking at him. She wanted the picture of him like this forever in her mind. It was the moment she realized just how strongly her feelings for him were. She sighed dreamily. Pan was a fruitcake. Trunks instead of Mark, was the girl out of her mind? Lucky for Bra! She took his hand and jumped up.
Mark set her in front of him. One hand around her waist and the other on the rein he nudged the horse with his heel and it jumped into a lope.

If she could go back and change this she would have demanded he spent more time with her. But then how was she to know how very short their time would be. She had once thought until death do you part was forever. It was a cold reality that learned very yond that that was not the case. Mark had always been a troublesome child. He was forever getting into everything, and terrorizing his nanny. How had he grown into such a determined man. Gina had kept tabs on his from a distance. Looking at him was just too painful for her. Even coming to this house where she had lived with Thomas Devero was painful to her. This was something she had to do. She was on a mission. There was always the unexpected in life. Finding Mark with Bra Brief in tow was one of those things. Bra was just what Mark would need in the coming days. It might soften the blow and make Gina's goal all the easier to handle.
Gina turned and sat down at the desk her husband had sat at. Pulling over his picture she smiled "I don't have much time left, dear. I have to tell him soon.' She set the picture back down and dropped her head. "How do you tell your own son your dying, and that with out his help you will."
