Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Inadequate ❯ Chapter Fifteen: ( Chapter 15 )
One of the last remaining hybrids fell down to his knees in front of Goten. He had been kind enough to let those who had fled live. He figured it was his way of repenting for this blood bath. Goten thought about powering down, but there as still a chance of another barrage. Goten searched the area for any familiar ki signals. He found one that was somewhat familiar, but is was so weak it was unrecognizable. It was like someone was hiding from him. No one here knew how to suppress their ki though. Was this person really that afraid of him? Goten walked tensely towards the source when he stopped. Goten's ears perked up and he kneeled down just in time to fend off a barrage of arrows with his sword. On the other side of the burnt encampment was a long line of soldiers with their bows raised. From the flank of the phalanx (Spartan fighting formation, fun fact for you) men rode out on odd-looking beasts. They had short scaly legs that grasped the mud amazingly well. The beasts had long broad faces with thick hair on their muzzle and long incisors. They had thick stocky shoulders that made them good for riding. On their backs where the riders mounted was a layer of thick brown hair. Their long scaly tails slapped the mud was the battalion came towards him. The group stopped and Goten glared at the suspicious men. A clean looking man on a particularly strong beast stepped forward.
"A hybrid. One in disguise." The man glared coldly down at him with his golden hair glinting in the faint light. Goten's eyes widened in shock.
"No you have it wrong! I was helping you guys!" Goten yelled in his defense. The golden haired man drew his sword and his men followed suit.
"You let me leave now." Goten said sternly to the thickheaded man. The man shook his head. Goten fired a ki blast and knocked a man off of his beast, he slipped into unconsciousness..
"You let me go, or destroy you all." The golden haired man scowled and sheathed his sword. Goten cautiously sheathed his and inched towards the beast.
"What is this animal called?" Goten asked as he stroked the fur on the animal's muzzle.
"It's a Arawakan." The man gave him an odd stare, but Goten mounted the animal and prodded it off.
"He didn't even fight him…that's strange for a Arawakan." The golden man muttered to himself. The man on the ground woke up.
"Hey! I'm not dead!" He yelped clamoring to his feet. Goten sat nervously on the animal, as he entered the woods. He wasn't going in the direction her wanted to deliberately because they would follow him.
"Get off of me now!" a low accented voice yelled at him. Goten looked around for the source of the voice. The Arawakan rose up on it's him legs and he fell off onto the ground. Goten heard a strange crackling sound as he raised his face from the hard ground. When he turned to the animal, he didn't find it, but instead he found a fully formed man in a dirty tan loincloth. His hair was long and reached down to the crook of his back.
"Wha…What happened!" Goten yelled out in awe. The man grunted and kneeled down before him.
"Thank you. Those men are keeping us captive. I know not how you broke the spell, but thank you." The man's voice was incredibly low and sounded much more similar to grunts than to real words.
"So…your human!" Goten's voice cracked in surprise as he scuffled away from the man.
"Yes, I suppose. Our tribe is a server of the sun god Amen. We serve him loyalty so that he will keep the sun from shining, but they captured us and now we cannot fulfill our
duties." The man said standing up and beginning to braid his long black locks.
"Why wouldn't you want the sun to shine?" Goten got up and faced the man. He was significantly taller than him. He had to be at the very least 7 feet tall.
"If Amen ever shows himself, then all of this planet will be destroyed. My tribe is gone, we must find a way to flee this planet." Goten looked at him oddly.
"Can't you stop it?" He had no attachment to this planet yet Goten felt the need to save it. He was sure all of his friends were now dead.
"There may be a way, but if it doesn't work…. Do you have a way of escaping?" The tribesman now had an expression of fear on his face.
"I do don't worry, but we must try to save this planet." Goten was solemn of the though of all those people dieing. Not that most of them didn't deserve it. Goten silently beckoned for the tribesman to follow him. He had to find a way to sneak back to the temple before he could plot anything. Goten crept out from the forest with the tall man following him closely. He stayed as low to the ground as possible, he watched the army of men pick up the dead. He already saw the large pile they were making of the dead soldiers. Goten let out a breath of relief as he finally entered the forest near the temples entrance path.
"I never caught your name?" Goten said turning to the tribesman.
"It is Taacho." The man bowed his head slightly to Goten.
"Well I'm Goten. I want to take you to my…home so we can plot." Taacho nodded his head in agreeance.
