It Will Happen: Another Bulma & Vegeta Get Together
Chapter Eleven
Thoughts
"KAMI! You jerk! Get away from her." Yamcha yelled as he made a swift move to attack Vegeta.
Bulma, surprised by the action, was only aware of what Yamcha had been planning to do when she saw Vegeta holding onto Yamcha's fist, which was inches away from Vegeta's face.
"Yamcha." Bulma gasped.
"Bulma get away from him. I'll try to hold him off. You go call Goku." Yamcha said desperately.
Vegeta snorted. Whether it was because Yamcha thought he could hold him off or because Yamcha had asked Bulma to call Goku she didn't know. But realizing what Yamcha thought was happening she placed her hand gently on Yamcha's shoulder.
"Its ok Yamcha. You don't have to do anything. Vegeta wasn't hurting me."
Yamcha looked uncertainly at their positions before his eyes widened in shock and hurt. He pulled his fist out of Vegeta's grasp and took a few steps back.
"Oh no. Bulma what the hell are you thinking?" Yamcha yelled at her.
Bulma tried to sit up but being pinned under Vegeta was making her actions futile so she pushed at Vegeta's chest.
He looked down at her and scowled but got off of her and bent to put on his shorts.
Bulma pulled down her sleep shirt and and got off the lounger to face Yamcha. He looked disappointed and slightly disgusted.
"I can't believe you Bulma! Is this why you broke up with me, so you could sleep with this bastard?" Yamcha asked in a hurt voice.
Vegeta rolled his eyes. The man was pathetic and Vegeta couldn't see what Bulma had seen in him. Vegeta had seriously wanted to kill him for disturbing them and for daring to strike him but he knew that the woman wouldn't let that happen. She probably wouldn't even let him beat Yamcha into a miserable pulp.
'And since when has that stopped you?' A voice mocked him in his mind. 'Is the great warrior Prince becoming soft over a useless woman?' Vegeta tried his best to ignore that annoying voice in his head!
He turned to look at his woman and her ex lover. 'Your woman?' The voice taunted again. 'Well I'm sleeping with her so at the moment she is my woman.' He thought without batting an eyelash.
She looked drained, her shoulders were slumped and although her back was turned to him he could not wipe the taunting image of her sad blue eyes, filled with tears, from his mind. He hated tears as it was a sign of weakness and couldn't stand the sight. But for some reason the image had made his chest constrict.
He had seen those beautiful blue orbs spark with anger, pride, lust and even care for him but they had never held disappointment and hurt for him before. However, that was how she had looked at him, when he did not give her a response she desired over her pregnancy. 'And why should you care?' The cruel voice mocked.
"Yamcha. I didn't break up with you because of Vegeta. You know that." Bulma said softly.
"Well then why are you sleeping with the jerk? Where you cheating on me? Kami I've been so blind. I knew something was up when he would continuously show himself when I was around but I never in a million years thought that it was because you were in his pants. I thought he was just being his selfish self and trying to keep us apart. But its obvious now he wanted to make sure we never were able to work things out." Yamcha droned on.
"I never cheated on you Yamcha. I'm sorry you had to find out this way." Bulma told him. She really was sorry. Obviously now was not the best time to try and explain to her ex lover about her current lover when she still had issues to discuss with Vegeta but Yamcha had caught them in the act. And he looked very hurt.
Yamcha and her had decided to remain friends and she knew he would feel extremely hurt if the situations were reversed. Well maybe more like extremely furious but she understood Yamcha's reaction and she honestly hated seeing him look so hurt.
"How did you mean for me to find out then?" Yamcha asked.
Vegeta thought that that was a pretty good question. Not that he wanted the woman going around babbling about their sex life but he found it strange that she had never mentioned that she was with someone else. Especially since her former lover obviously had hopes of re kindling their relationship. And she must have known! She was an intelligent woman. Was she thinking that she would go back to Yamcha when their relationship ended? He didn't like the thought of that at all!
"I don't know, it just happened." Bulma said softly.
Vegeta snorted in disgust behind them but she did not turn around to look at him which for some reason irritated him. "It didn't just happen woman. We've been sleeping together for six months now." He didn't know why he had said it, maybe to get a rise out of her or maybe to make it clear to her former lover that there was no hope for them, but all he knew was that the words had left his mouth of their own accord.
Yamcha let out a horrified gasp and Bulma's shoulders stiffened. She bowed her head in embarrassment.
She didn't mean for it to sound like Vegeta was just a one night fling but she didn't want to just out right say how long they had been sleeping together either. After all it had only been weeks after she had broken up with Yamcha.
Had she subconsciously ended things with him because she wanted Vegeta? She had truly believed that Yamcha and her were going no where slowly and each time they tried to move further she felt like they reached a dead end, however there was one question that bugged her know. It made her feel guilty and uncertain of everything that was going on in her life, more so with the hormones of a pregnant woman. Would she have broken up with Yamcha if Vegeta had never come into her life?
She looked over at her ex boyfriend and realized now was not exactly the perfect time for soul searching and deep revelations. She needed to explain to Yamcha, she didn't want to hurt him anymore than he obviously already was.
After studying Bulma's expression Yamcha locked eyes with Vegeta and gave a cold and harsh laugh. Vegeta's eyes narrowed.
"You didn't plan on telling anyone did you Bulma." Yamcha spoke though his eyes were still on Vegeta. "You knew it would blow over soon and you were ashamed! So you decided to keep the affair a secret. After all sleeping with Vegeta is not something to boast about."
Bulma knew that Vegeta would be furious at Yamcha's comments. She could basically feel the tension radiating from him but she was not surprised that he had not attacked Yamcha.
In all honesty Vegeta was not who he was when he had first come to Earth. Although the changes were subtle they were drastic and she noticed them. He didn't go around terrorizing the people on Earth, he didn't blow up things when he was angry and he had even learned to control some of his anger.
She knew that Vegeta would have been a completely different person than the cold hearted monster Frieza had turned him into if he had been given half the chance. He was proving he could be that now!
Vegeta felt anger rise inside of him! Where the hell did the weakling get off insulting him, the Prince of all Saiyans. But as Yamcha's laugh faded and Bulma didn't utter a word of denial Vegeta felt his fists clenched. 'Was the weakling right? Was Bulma really embarrassed of him?' He knew he had to know.
He had put up mental blocks against her when she had started to be able to hear his thoughts more often during their time together. He didn't like it when she would simply answer a question he had only asked in his mind so he had let her believe that he had asked it out allowed. He had also not invaded her thoughts for he knew it wasn't fair since she didn't know they had formed a telepathic bond and therefore couldn't put up mental blocks against him. But at the moment he didn't care, he wanted to know what was going on in her head because she refused to dissuade Yamcha's arguments. So he looked into her thoughts.
"Bulma I've known you since you were sixteen. I'm right aren't I? You regret sleeping with Vegeta don't you?" Somehow Yamcha's questions all sounded as if he were convincing himself and trying to convince Bulma too.
Bulma flinched. How was she supposed to reply to that. She had honestly believed that this thing between Vegeta and her was nothing more than a casual fling and so she hadn't thought it necessary to tell anyone. But was she embarrassed of Vegeta.
It was a difficult question! He had been a murderer after all and he had come to destroy her home planet. He had the innocent blood of millions on his hands and indirectly the blood of her friends too. So what would she say? 'Hey guys I'm sleeping with Vegeta but its nothing personal so please don't hate me.' It was laughable. Besides she didn't need to explain her personal life to anyone. But deep down she knew that she had been afraid her friends would hate her and they were her friends after all. She had met them before Vegeta.
Vegeta could not believe what he had heard. He didn't care that he shouldn't have heard her but at least he had some insight into what she really though about him. Well then she was getting her just desserts wasn't she. How was she going to explain the baby that would show itself in a few months time. He couldn't help but smirk even though his anger had reached boiling point.
How dare she feel embarrassed by him. He was the Prince of all Saiyans. She should feel honored that he had chosen to share himself with a no body like her.
He had been so engrossed in his anger that had he listened to Bulma's remaining thoughts he would never have felt his pride take such a beating.
Bulma sighed. She knew that no matter what people thought of Vegeta that was not what she thought about him now. She had seen a side of him that he never showed anyone, not even her. But she saw through his tough exterior because she not only cared about him but she had taken the time to do so. And she knew at that point that she would sacrifice a million friends just so she could spend more time with him and break that shell of his. He deserved to have someone either than himself and she had given enough of herself to her friends.
"Yamcha, let's go down and talk." Bulma suggested feeling that she owed him that. At least Vegeta and her could continue their discussion after she had sent Yamcha home.
What Bulma hadn't realized that by ignoring her current lover to comfort her ex had just enraged Vegeta more.
Vegeta's teeth ground together as his fists clenched and the vein at his right temple popped into notice. He watched as Bulma completely forgot his presence and walked towards Yamcha. What was he doing? She obviously didn't want him here and it didn't bother him one bit, he denied.
He walked towards the other two and stopped next to Bulma. She turned sad blue eyes on him.
"Vegeta I promise we'll talk when Yamcha has left."
He gave a harsh laugh as cruel as it had been when she had first met him. It surprised her and she felt her tummy drop. He was angry with her.
"Don't bother woman. You have said all that I'm interested in hearing. But hear me out. You asked me a question earlier although I think you had the answer I will say this. What does it mean. It means absolutely nothing to me. Both you and your brat." He spat before giving her one last look of pure disgust as he turned his back on her and walked away.
"Vegeta." Bulma made to go after him but a hand on her shoulder stopped her.
She turned around to face Yamcha. "You care about him don't you and you're pregnant aren't you?" Yamcha more stated than asked.
Bulma nodded to confirm both Yamcha's questions.
"Kami Bulma! He's a monster how could you. He will bring you nothing but pain!" He stated confidently.
Bulma nodded again though this time her tears fell freely down her cheeks.
"But he also makes me feel more complete than I've ever felt before when we're together." Bulma whispered. She just wanted someone to understand what she felt for Vegeta, someone to agree with her and tell her she was not mentally unstable to care for him but from the look of utter disbelief on Yamcha's face she knew he wouldn't be the one to tell her those things or offer her his support when it came to Vegeta.
He looked as if he had heard it all, as if nothing she could say now would make it better or make it worse!
So all she did was whisper an apology. "I'm sorry Yamcha."
At her softly spoken words Yamcha's face became a blank mask. She had never seen that look on him before. And to see it directed at her made her feel like her sunken heart would never be the same again.
First disappointment and hurt, now nothing from Yamcha. But the look that had affected Bulma most was Vegeta's disgust and loathing. All directed at her.
Did she deserve to be looked upon with such cruel emotions? Had she really done something so unforgivable that she was being treated like enemy number one? And if so, then how would everyone else look at her when she began to swell with a baby?
