Chapter 2: Me, A Super Saiyan?

It was a cold day and it was not normal for this time of year, quickly a chill had over come me and I quickly headed inside. High school life was quite different than anything I had experienced before, which was nice because it kept me occupied (if you know what I mean). Being sixteen in this place was interesting, throughout my school career I had made many friends some boy, and some girl, that was nice because it kept my social topics diversified. There was one girl friend of mine she was the nicest person you would ever meet and oddly enough we had gotten a bit closer over the years that we had known each other, her name was Ashlyn Baker. She was a soft skinned brunette with lovely green eyes; she had an athletic figure, mostly because of the sports she was involved in. Most days we would hang out together and talk and now that we were getting closer we figured we should openly date. In the back of my mind however I knew that if this relationship were to continue beyond high school I would have to call us simply friends because I was already betrothed to someone else. But for now it was all right and it wasn't bothering anyone.

Just like I mentioned earlier this day felt cooler than normal, my concerns weren't justified that day until during third period. The period started off as normal, Mr. Newhart had readout the attendance and just begun class when a student showed up at the door. Mr. Newhart went and answered the door as if nothing was wrong until the student pulled out a shotgun right before the poor teachers eyes. I only had enough time to see Mr. Newhart fly back onto his desk beside the door, bleeding profusely from his wounds. Everybody then started screaming and ducked for cover, quickly I leapt up hoping to catch him before he fired another shot, but I was too late. The sound of his gun rang in my ears as half his shot connected in my lower abdomen spinning me around right to the ground. I can't describe the pain that I felt, it felt like someone winding you ten fold, as all the air escapes from your lungs. The next two minutes were a blur as I heard more gun shots go off and people were screaming all around me. Nearly two minutes later my senses snapped back into place as I felt someone's hand in mine. I carefully arched my head around to see who it was and to a painful surprise it was Ashlyn. She wasn't moving which wasn't a good sign, I couldn't feel any energy from her either. Just then my mind clicked off and I felt no pain anymore, my vision started to swim. I arose from the floor and found emotion was taking over, clouding my judgment. Immediately I went for the gunman and punched him square across the jaw sending him through the drywall and plaster behind him, which made up the makeshift wall between the main room and the equipment room. He got up slowly and proceeded to hit me in the face. I let him hit me just to see the look on his face; it was one of fright, as I didn't even move a muscle. I then grabbed the shotgun he had in his hand and bent it into two different pieces. Still angered I grabbed his scared form and threw it through the door into the hallway against the lockers. He was knocked unconscious which gave me time to help the others in the room, I got to Ashlyn as I rolled her over to look at her I found she was still breathing but it was faint I needed to get her to an ambulance and fast. I picked her up and ran out into the hallway heading straight for the front door there I met up with three officers and two paramedics, who took Ashlyn from me and put her on a stretcher and took her to the hospital. Heading back in I found two others still down and about three who were being looked over by another student. I picked up one of the students as others followed my lead and headed out to the crews just beyond the school doors. Letting the others go first I followed behind to watch for any other victims. Walking slowly I checked the windows for others but in my concentration I hadn't noticed the gunman getting up behind me. He slowly approached me from behind drawing a knife from a sheath on the back of his belt. I was oblivious to his footsteps because I was paying more attention to the student in my arms slowly regaining consciousness. Leaping at me he plunged the knife into my back, just below my kidneys; quickly I fell to my knees feeling the searing pain envelope my spine. Standing back he then drew out the blade and stabbed me again in the opposite side. The pain was incredible, ripping throughout my lower body I couldn't speak never the less breathe for that matter. Looking down I found the student in my arms stunned by my look of horror; then I felt it coming, approaching quickly within the bowels of my mind. It was a small speck at first but it was growing and fast. My anger was starting to develop into something more as I gathered my strength and pulled my knees from the floor. I then laid the student down in the hall allowing me to free my hands up; in my mind the pain was starting to float away as my hatred for him grew. Pulling the knife from my back I dropped it on the floor in front of him, then it just happened. I can't describe the feeling it was a sudden calm coming over my body and mind

Turns the police later apprehended the man and took him to a cell where he would wait to be convicted by a jury for murder in the first degree. Later that day I went to the hospital to see Ashlyn and how she was holding up, unfortunately her condition hadn't changed and I was fearing the worst. Just as I had walked into the room behind me came her parents, they knew of the relationship she and I had and they informed me that when the doctors did their analysis of her injuries they had found internal bleeding that which they couldn't stop so it was only a matter of time before she would be gone from us. I heard a shuffle from behind me as turned to find Ashlyn trying to sit up in her bed. I quickly rushed to her side to aid in her efforts, it was weird because she knew something was wrong, yet I didn't have the heart to tell her, because she gave me this look of understanding as I looked into her eyes. Her next words were very unexpected because she said that she felt very tired but she could not sleep, unfortunately that is when I noticed her eyes seemed very empty as her body went limp and her breathing stopped. Right then and there my heart stopped dead cold, it had all happened so fast that I wasn't even given the chance to say goodbye. She was gone I couldn't believe it could happen that soon, there is the place that I broke down I poured my heart out still holding her close to myself still hoping there was a chance that she could return to me. But it was not to be, and I soon left the room heading to a place that I could retreat to and think.
