Marron had just finished her shift and was about to retire to her quarters, when the doorbell rang. "Who could that be?" She opened the door up, to reveal. "It's you." She exclaimed as she looked at the woman standing at the front door.
"How are you Marron?" The woman asked.
"I uhm, uhm, I'm fine Mrs. Briefs." Marron stuttered as she said hello to her employer’s mother, Bulma Briefs.
"Well, that's wonderful. Is my son around?"
"I believe he's upstairs. I'm not sure whether he is sleeping or not."
"Tell me Marron, when am I to expect grandkids?"
Marron sighed, "In about eight months I figure."
"What? Marron what are you trying to tell me?" A huge grin went across Bulma's face.
"Trunks is going to be a daddy." Marron sighed and sat down.
"You don't look so happy. Is it the morning sickness, dear?"
"No, I'm not the one he got pregnant."
"What?" Bulma was shocked.
"Trunks found himself somebody else. He claims he loves her, but I know he doesn't. I just have to make him realize that he loves me and not Pan Son."
Bulma froze for a moment, "Did you just say Pan Son?"
" Yeah. Why?"
"I use to know the Sons. In fact Son Goku was my best friend in high school (A/n: In my fic, Goku, ChiChi, Vegeta and Bulma are the same age.) along with ChiChi and my husband Vegeta. We lost touch after graduation. I haven't heard or seen from him, since.”
"So, he married and had a daughter huh?" Bulma questioned. Since the four had lost contact, she had no idea that Pan was Goku’s granddaughter, not his daughter.
"Where is she now?" Bulma asked.
"Upstairs."
The comment caught Bulma off guard. "Upstairs?"
"Yeah, he had her move in here." Marron explained.
"Marron, tell me. Where did he meet her?"
"She is the horse trainer."
Bulma was taken aback by the answer, "Excuse me? His horse trainer?"
Marron nodded. "Yep,"
"When did he meet her?"
"Not long ago. I'd say about six months ago."
"And he claims to love her?"
"Yeah,"
" Has my son gone delusional?"
"I think so."
"Well, I'm marching up there and telling them what I think." Bulma made her way upstairs. She turned to Marron. "Which room is hers?" Marron pointed to Pan's door.
Bulma marched up to it and opened it. She was taken aback at what she saw when she opened the door. "What the hell?" She exclaimed. Trunks shifted as he awoke. The look on his face was priceless as he saw his one and only mother standing there.
"Mother?" Trunks said trying to find his clothes. He awoke Pan.
"Pan," Trunks gently shook Pan awake.
"Huh? What?" Pan yawned. She saw a figure out of the corner of her eye. She screamed as she tried to cover herself up.
"Trunks, who is that?"
"That, my love, is the other woman in my life, my mother."
"Oh well, it's nice to meet you Mrs. Briefs." Pan extended an arm, then suddenly realized the position that Trunks and herself were in.
"I'll let you two get dressed. Come downstairs when you are." Bulma left and turned to Marron.
"Put some tea on." Marron obeyed the wealthy lady. She went into the kitchen, as she saw Pan and Trunks tramping down the stairs.
"Mother," Trunks leaned into kiss his mother, only to be greeted by a slap.
"What was that for?"
"Trunks, what the hell has gotten into you? Do you realize what this will do to our family if the press finds out? You have an unwed pregnant woman here. Let alone, an unwed pregnant woman whose baby you fathered."
"Yes, that is why Pan and I are getting married as soon as possible." Trunks yelled.
"Married?"
"Yes, I asked her tonight. That’s why you found us in that position, we were celebrating."
"Trunks, I'm going to ask you a question and I want you to answer me honestly and truthfully." Bulma said. Trunks nodded.
"Alright,"
"Do you honestly love Pan Son?"
Trunks didn't hesitate to answer, "She means everything to me."
Bulma could tell her son was not lying, "Trunks, I can see you are telling the truth and since you are happy, I am too." She went over to Pan. "Welcome to the family Pan."
"Thank you, Mrs. Briefs." Pan said as the soon to be in laws embraced.
"Call me Bulma, and may I ask you a question?"
"Of course, Bulma."
"Are you related to a man named Goku Son."
"Goku Son? He's my Grandfather." Pan smiled as she remembered her grandfather and all the good he did for his country.
"Your grandfather?" Bulma asked.
"Yes."
"Can you tell me how I can get a hold of him?"
Pan then had tears in her eyes. Trunks saw this and ran to her side. "Mom, what did you say?"
"Nothing,"
"You must have said something." Pan sniffled back some tears.
"She didn't say anything Trunks. I just was remembering. I'm sorry, but Grandpa was killed in the world war, back when I was only eight years old."
Bulma was shocked at the statement Pan had just made. Goku, her best friend Goku, the man she had a small crush on was gone, dead.
"Bulma are you alright?" Pan asked her soon to be mother in law.
"Yes, I was thinking, he was my bestfriend, my only true friend."
"What do you mean?" Trunks asked, "I thought you had lots of friends."
"I did, but Goku was the only one that didn't see me for my material worth, aside from Krillin, Marron's father, and your father. He saw me for who I was and not my bank account."
"That's what Pan sees me as. She doesn't care about the money. In fact all the money I have paid her, has gone to Katana's training."
"Katana?"
"Yeah, the horse Bra bought from the Moore's. Come I'll show you to her." Trunks helped his mother off the couch and the three of them walked to the stables. The pale illumination from the moon was the only light they had.
Goten and Uub were still hard at working. "Mom, this is Uub and Pan's uncle, Goten. They are the stable hands. Guys, this is my mother Bulma Briefs."
Goten and Uub both wiped their hands off on their shirts, "It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Briefs," They said extending a hand.
"Call me Bulma. Please boys," She started to look around, "Where is this horse?"
Trunks showed Bulma the horse. "We're going to race her in the upcoming derby." Trunks explained.
"You are?"
"Yeah, Pan and I have been training her for the last couple of months. "
"Really, Trunks now that you are getting married and having a baby, don't you think you should put whatever this Katana thing is on hold just until the baby is born?"
"Mom, Emerald Downs opens soon and Pan and I were hoping to get her racing by then."
"Trunks, I understand that. However, you have more important matters to deal with, like your child and marrying his or her mother. So please Trunks, can't you at least wait until next year?"
Trunks sighed, as he looked over to Pan. "What do you think? Want to wait?"
Pan nodded, "I do."
"Alright Mom, we will put our plans on hold, but Mom, can I ask you something?"
"What Trunks?"
"What are you doing here?"
"Trunks, can't a mother come and visit her son on his birthday?" Pan looked over at Trunks.
"What? It's your birthday?" Pan asked.
"Yeah tomorrow. Hehe" Trunks blushed a bit.
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"It isn't that important."
"Not important? Trunks, you only have one birthday." Pan yelled at him.
"Pan, look my birthday isn't important. Alright?!" Trunks yelled and stormed into the house.
"Bulma, is there something that is wrong with Trunks? Did I say something?"
"No, it isn't you dear."
"Then what is it? Why is he so mad?"
"Well, you have about an hour."
"Yeah,"
"Then, let’s go and talk."
