A/N: So sorry it took so long for me to update, I had some personal problems, My father had passed away from COPD and Emphysema caused by smoking.

What is odd is since he passed I have been finding Dimes everywhere, instead of "Pennies from heaven" It's now "Dimes from Heaven." My dad is like Pennies Schmennies I'm throwing down dimes.

Another strange thing happened since his passing, I had just cooked me up some food, bacon, and eggs to eat. It was about 3pm or so, anyways I take a cup and pour me some Coffee, the coffee was steaming hot. All right you're probably thinking yeah so. Well here's the thing the coffeemaker had been off since eight that morning, the coffee should have ice cold, usually I have to heat the coffee up in the microwave. In fact, I actually went over to put the cup in the microwave and discovered it was steaming still. I had to put a lot of creamer (French Vanilla by international delight) in it just to cool it down. I just figured my dad had his daily coffee.

Pan asked as soon as she entered the house.

"Sit down. This is going to be a long story."

Pan takes a seat in one of the kitchen chairs. "Go on."

"Well, back on Trunks' twenty first birthday, something happened."

"What? What happened?"

****Flashback**** In Bulma's POV.

Eleven years ago.

"Trunks, happy birthday." Charlene Markson went up to kiss her boyfriend of two years.

"Hey, Babe you coming with me and Thomas to the new night club tonight?" Trunks had asked her.

"Yeah, I have always wanted to go to a nightclub," She said excitedly as Trunks smiled picking her up in his arms.

"I love you Trunks."

"I love you too, Charlene."

"We're going to be happy. You and me and our baby, huh?" Charlene said, she was 4 months pregnant.

"Yeah. You, I, and our baby will live happily together forever Charlene." Trunks said as he got a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach.

Later that night.

After heavy drinking and partying, Trunks and his party were hopping into their respective cars. Trunks and Charlene go into his car. "Oh, Trunks that was so fun."

Charlene was driving since she did not drink, due to the fact she was pregnant and underage. The roads were wet, it was pouring down rain, and the visibility was very low. Charlene never drove before, so about five miles from her house; Trunks told her he was sobering up. She gave him the wheel, the next thing she knows, she is rolling down a rocky terrain.

Meanwhile, Trunks was lying unconscious in a car that was on fire.

****End of Flashback*****

Pan covered her mouth as she listened to the horrific story, "What happened? Did she lose the baby?"

****Flashback***

Charlene lay unconscious on the bottom of the terrain. When she finally regained consciousness, she could not move. She however started screaming.

"TRUNKS! TRUNKS!"

Trunks apparently heard her and woke up immediately. He noticed his surroundings, "Huh, what?" He asked, as the only thing he could see was the world in black and white. He looked over to the passenger seat. "Charlene." He called for her. However, he got no answer. "CHARLENE! CHARLENE! "He called over and over, but no answer.

*******End of flashback****

"What happened then? Did he find her? Did he save her? Tell me she's alright." Pan pleaded.

"Pan, when the paramedics finally arrived on the scene, they were able to save Trunks. However, it was too late for Charlene and her baby." Bulma explained.

"Poor Trunks. No wonder he hates his birthday so much." Pan was crying. She could not believe the tragedy Trunks had to face. "Thank you for telling me Bulma. I understand why now."

"Understand what dear?"

"I understand Trunks' reason for wanting to be a family. He wants to have with me what he couldn't have with Charlene."

"Pan, can I tell you something?"

"Of course."

"I really don't think he loved Charlene as much as he loves you."

"What do you mean?"

"I think it's the way he looks at you."

Pan smiled. The thought of being the only one someone ever loved with their whole being made her feel somewhat special. "Bulma, does he really hate his birthday? I mean isn't there away to make him feel happier."

"Well, I don't know dear. It's been over ten years since that fateful night." Bulma thought a moment; she could not think of any ways to make Trunks' birthday happier for him.

Pan yawned. "I'm sorry. I must be tired."

Bulma laughed, "It's alright. You are pregnant and besides, it is getting late. You should head up to bed."

Pan smiled. "Thank you Bulma-san and thank you for telling me about what happened." Pan walked upstairs to her bedroom.

"Did mother tell you everything?" She heard a masculine voice coming from the corner when she entered the room.

"I had no idea. I am so sor- "Before she could give him her condolences, Trunks had cut her off.

"She had no right telling you."

"Trunks, I asked. I asked her to tell me why you hated your birthday so much. I knew you were not going to tell me, so I had your mother tell me. I am sorry for what happened, but Trunks that was ten years ago. I know this is going to sound selfish, but can you please put it in the past where it belongs?"

Trunks looked at his fiancé. Did she say what he thought she said? Put what happened it the past? "Why? Why should I put something like that in the past? I lost my baby; I lost the love of my life that night." He yelled.

"Because… I want to be the love of your life. I'm the one carrying your baby. I don't want anything to come between us or the baby."

"You are not the love of my life! You will never be. You know what you are Pan? You are my special fuck toy, nothing more." He spat venomous words to the woman he loved.

Pan looked at him in complete shock. Was that all she was to him? "Trunks?" Her lips begin to quiver.

"Oh save it! Crying isn't going to help you now."

"Trunks," she asked. Tears were falling down her cheeks. Was he really saying all the things he was saying?

"I said stop crying." He shouted as he backhanded her cheek. The look in Pan's eyes all the sudden went from sad to complete fear.

"Trunks,"

Trunks looked at her eyes as his eyes matched hers, "Pan." He tried to reach out for her.

"Stay away from me."

"I'm sorry." He tried to move closer; however, she kept backing away.

"I never… I never want to see you. You just stay away from me. You hear?"

"I didn't mean it. I am so sorry Pan. Please forgive me." He dropped to his knees.

"You hit me."

Trunks looked up with pleading eyes, "And I'm sorry. I have no excuse. I know what happened with Charlene happened over ten years ago, but I cannot forget it. It is my fault Pan. Just if I hadn't been driving, Charlene and our baby would be here today." Trunks begged for Pan's forgiveness.

"You can't blame yourself Trunks. Maybe it just was their time. Maybe god had other plans for them."

Trunks knew what Pan was saying was true. He knew that Charlene's death was not his fault, but still there was that nagging feeling within him that felt like it was his entire fault.

He looked up at Pan. "Pan, I'm sorry. I did not mean any of what I said. I just… Every time on my birthday, I remember the accident and everything."

Pan went down to Trunks and held him. "I'm sorry for you loss. I would hate to think about the pain of losing a child. I hope I would never have to feel that type of pain ever."

"Charlene told me it was going to be a boy. She had this strong feeling about it." Trunks laughed.

"I'm sure you would have been a great father to him … or her." Pan told him trying to comfort him. "If it makes you feel any better, I promise I'll never bring up your birthday or what happened. However, I feel it is best to talk about things like that. You shouldn't bottle up your emotions Trunks, it will only because you further grief."

Trunks looked at her. "I know. I just do not know how to talk about things like that. I never confided in anyone about that night until now."

"I am glad you let me be the one that you did confide in." Pan said as she leaned in to kiss him. He kissed back as the two fell asleep in each other's arms. Pan smiled. She was glad Trunks confided his feelings in her. After all, if they were to be married, they would have to trust each other and tell each other everything.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- --------

The next morning.

Pan woke up to find Trunks gone. "Huh…Trunks?" She looked around the room. She then saw Marron standing with a tray of food before her.

"Good morning Marron. Have you seen Trunks?"

" Mr. Briefs has gone to work." Marron explained.

"Today?" Pan was confused. She knew he hated his birthday, but to work on it. "Alright." Pan said a little disappointed. She was hoping to spend time with Trunks doing things like shopping for furniture for their baby's room and everything.

"Here is some food. Mrs. Briefs told me to make it for you, so here it is." Marron said unenthused.

Pan smiled at Marron she could feel the tension. "Thanks." She tried to lighten the mood up. However, Marron kept staring at Pan as if she was some sorta plague.

Pan then got pissed. "You look here, I never want you to look or talk to me like that again. Understood?"

"Who are you to make me?"

"Trunks proposed to me. I am going to be his wife which means I become lady of the house so you better give me some respect." Pan shouted at the help.

Marron just scoffed. "You're not married to him yet and by the time I'm through, you will never be married to him. I'll make sure of it and if he was to marry, you it's only for that bastard of yours sake."

That pissed off Pan. "Say that again."

"No, but be sure that this wedding will never happen."

"How? How are you going to stop it?"

"I got the Briefs family on my side."

"Then why did Bulma welcome me into her family with open and loving arms?"

"She'll do anything for her baby boy, including welcoming the bitch he's marrying into the family."

Pan smiled and went up to Marron, "Dare to call me that again."

Marron laughed. She turned to leave. She then saw Trunks walking back upstairs. She thought that this was the perfect time to put her plan into action. She put on her water works.

"Marron why are you crying?"

"Pan started acting mean and snobby and said if I didn't do what she wanted she would fire me." She lied as she pretended to cry.

Trunks went to Pan's room. "What did you say to Marron?"

"What did I say? What about what she said? She called our child a bastard and me a bitch!"

Trunks turned to Marron. "Marron is that true?"

"She told me you were going to marry her. I told her the only reason you would marry a bitch like her was because of that bastard child of hers." Marron's voice was venomous, which pissed off Trunks.

"I told you if you did anything to jeopardize my relationship with Pan, I would be forced to terminate you employment. I expect you to be out of here by no later then five pm." Trunks said as he went over to Pan. "You alright?"

"Trunks, you didn't have to fire her." She said as Marron was leaving.

"She disrespected you and by disrespecting you, she disrespected me." Trunks said.

Goten looked at Marron, "What happened."
