Gohan looked at Trunks, an innocent concern on his face. "Trunks, what is she going to do?"

Trunks saw Goku all over that look on Gohan's face and wondered if his Father had ever felt the same tug
in his heart at that look that Trunks was feeling now. He hugged Gohan, his warm, smooth skin feeling good
against his own.

"Nothing. She just wants to hold it over my head." He smirked. "Like she doesn't have enough over me already.
I wouldn't worry about it, Gohan."

Gohan tried to look convinced, but a worry frown played at his thick eyebrows. Trunks quickly turned away,
afraid to push further. He was afraid that Gohan would say something about Videl finding out, and right now
Trunks was too afraid to know where he stood in terms of Videl.

He got out of bed and Gohan felt disappointment. He glanced at the alarm clock and saw that it was 7:30am.
It was early for a Saturday, but he wasn't sure what hours they kept here. Obviously Bra was up, and if Bulma
was anything like ChiChi, she was probably up to. He stood up to get his clothes from off the floor. He started
worrying about what his mother would ask him when he got home. This was all such a mess, but then he stood up, yanking
up his khakis and caught a glimpse of Trunks nude body looking out the window. He knew he would do it all over again
in a heartbeat.

Would they just throw caution to the wind and let people know about them? Gohan wished very badly that they could just
do it, but knew that family and society would be one endless battle to face. He glanced again at the clock, knowing
that it really wasn't time to discuss this. Damn, if only he had some control over his need around Trunks, he would
have sorted some of this out last night. Now, he'd have to go home to deal with ChiChi, and he knew he couldn't put it
off any longer - he had to call Videl. He didn't know what Trunks planned to do. Curiosity getting to him, he asked.

Trunks turned around and smiled. "I don't know. I suppose I could go out for a little while." He noticed the raised
eyebrow - and sighed inwardly at how exquisite it looked. "My parents know me too well to know I'm not going to stand
for this supposed "grounding." Last night was one thing, after my talk with Mom."

Gohan pictured his brother hanging out all day with Trunks, envying him immeasurably. It must have showed.

"Look Gohan, go and deal with your Mom, do what ever else you need to do (he said this last quickly) and then call
me on my cell. I'll drop whatever I'm doing, ok? Maybe we could, I don't know, go out or something."

Gohan wanted to just melt and cry and fuck Trunks all at the same time. His heart hammered in his chest, the thought
of a real date with his beloved.

"Ok."

Trunks walked over, looking beautiful, arousal showing on his body. He hugged Gohan sweetly, and then kissed him tenderly.
He smoothed down some of Gohan's unruly hair, his eyes light in the early morning sunlight.

"My sweet Babe."

The first endearment took Gohan by surprise. He leaned in and gave Trunks a deep, long kiss and broke away, knowing he'd
better stop or they wouldn't leave this room for awhile, and really risk detection.

"Trunks, I love you so much."

Trunks face lit up, dimples and eyes so light they were almost blue like his mothers, "I love you too, my sweet Babe."
He hugged Gohan and they just rocked for a bit.

Gohan took another breath and back away, the bulge in his trousers quite large. He reached down and grabbed his shirt.
He looked at all the torn ties littering the bed and floor and gave up even trying to find his own. Trunks just scratched
his hair, looking cute and innocent.

Trunks pulled a pair of jeans out of his dresser and slipped them on. He made his way to the door, and again, Gohan gave
him a lifted eyebrow.

"What? I walk around like this all the time." Trunks gave Gohan a flirtatious look as he turned back to him from the now
open door. "Follow me, and just play cool."

They went down the stairs, Gohan's clothes rumpled, his hair still a mess even after Trunks petting. Bulma came out of the
kitchen with a cup of coffee.

She looked startled. "Gohan!? You're still here?" A frown knit her pretty blue brows.

Gohan jumped despite Trunks order to play cool. He couldn't help the uneasiness on his face. Trunks interjected,
"oh, we stayed up late and got tired so he crashed here."

Gohan added, "I hope you don't mind, Bulma?"

Bulma smiled, liking Gohan. "No problem. Did you at least call ChiChi?"

"Um.." was all Gohan said. Bulma rolled her eyes and gave him a sympathetic smile, not needing to say anything further.

Trunks followed him outside, looking like he wanted to kiss Gohan, but they both knew that was pushing it.

"So, give me a call, ok?"

Gohan smiled, nodding, love evident on his face. He stopped to just look at Trunks before he got ready to fly. Trunks
liked the way he was looking at him. Gohan looked down, shaking his head and gave Trunks that look that did flips flops
to his stomach. He then jumped up into the air, soaring high. Trunks watched until he became just a speck in the sky.

Gohan braced himself, entering his house through the kitchen door, and to his utter dismay, he was greeted by the site of
ChiChi sitting with Videl at the kitchen table, the blue eyed girl obviously upset. ChiChi, hearing him enter, just got
up without saying a word, never looking at him, and left the room. He was stunned. It was obvious that he fucked up and
was going to know about it.

Videl just regarded him bitterly, tears filling her eyes.

He then had a thought, an angry thought, and never really had those before concerning Videl, but he thought, what the fuck,
it was only 2 days - what, I can't go 2 days without giving her a call?

Videl continued to look at him, a tiny bit of surprise on her face. She saw the look in Gohan's eyes, and it was something
she had never seen there before.

"Hello Gohan."

"Hi," he said miserably.

"Gohan, what's wrong? Why haven't you called me?" Videl asked, hurt in her voice.

He turned around, filling a glass with tap water from the sink. "Nothing's wrong."

"You're lying to me."

He stopped raising the glass to his lips. He put it back down on the counter, still not facing her.

"Look Videl, I just need some space right now, OK?"

Videl, stunned by the hollow sound of his voice, and his sudden need of space from her when a day hadn't gone by in nearly
10 years that they didn't spend it together or at least spoke on the phone at great length. She got angry, knowing that
it was the wrong tack to take, but not able to help herself, stubborn as ever. "What do you mean you need space?!"

A sudden crackle filled the air, stunning Videl into silence. She saw the telltale signs of ascension emanating from Gohan's
taut body. Holy shit, he's going super saiyan, she thought. He didn't quite, controlling himself just, but the surge of
anger that swept over him at that instant caught both of them by surprise. He didn't know why he was even angry, exactly.
But then, no, he thought of all those nights cooped up in his room studying theory and statistics, all those vain attempts
at intimacy, all the talk from that blowhard of an asshole that was supposed to become his father-in-law about his precious
daughter and how he was marrying into an important family. About how fucking poor his family was. When it was he, HE
HIMSELF that had stopped Cell, and that grotesque little bastard took all the credit, the mansion and the money with it.
He was sick to death of his good boy image, his eyes that needed glasses because they had been strained irreparably long
ago from reading texts late into the morning each night for years, his mother washing his underwear, and HIS FATHER WHO
WAS NEVER THE FUCK AROUND! He breathed heavily, not even needing to voice all those thoughts, just merely acknowledging
them a release.

Videl watched his breathing, knowing he was going through some kind of self-analyzing and knew that it was about her, and
him, and their future together, and she became truly afraid.

What had happened? She thought.

Tears flowed freely now from the large blue eyes. She was about to speak, not really knowing what she would say, when she
heard Gohan's father behind her, agitation in his voice.

"Gohan! What's the matter?!" It was part anger, part concern. He had been filled in by ChiChi as to the apparent rift
between Gohan and Videl, and when the older Saiyen sensed that Goku was ascending out of anger against his girlfriend, he
knew he had to step in and stop him.

Gohan, surprised by his father's voice and thinking, Wow, we are graced with his presence, turned around to give his father
a cold, hard stare. This startled both Goku and Videl. Goku, feeling that the situation was beginning to spiral out of
control, turned to Videl.

"Videl, I need to talk to Gohan for a moment. ChiChi's in the living room, can you join her?"

Videl just nodded dumbly, her arms folded defensively in front of her. She left the room without looking at Gohan,
afraid of the look she'd see there.

Gohan just continued to stare at his father.

"What's wrong son?"

Gohan, anger rising out of control for some reason he really didn't know himself, just spat at his father. "NOTHING!
NOTHING'S WRONG. IN FACT, EVERYTHING IS UNBELIEVABLY GREAT!"

He breathed heavily, his father stunned into silence.

Gohan continued. "In fact Daddy, for the first time in my life since I was a little kid, I'm feeling like the real me.
I'm even quite happy. And the last thing I need, from you, Mom or Videl are questions as to what's changed and why
I'm being this or that. I've got my final tests in 2 weeks and I'll have my Doctorate. And then I'm done with school
and then I just want to be left alone. Fucking left alone!"

Goku started to speak, "Son, I just.."

Gohan interrupted him, his voice raising to a screech, "PLEASE, PLEEEZE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!"

Goku just staggered back, watching his son tremble, clinging to the countertop. Without a word, he came over and gave his
son a hug. Gohan at first pushed against him bitterly, but then just gave up. There was no way he could fight or push
Goku away. He just let his father hold him until he felt calm again.

* * *

After Gohan calmed down, Goku left him in the kitchen to be alone. He returned to the frightened women in the living room.
He sat down and explained to them that it was just best to leave Gohan alone right now. When asked by ChiChi what was the
cause, he said he thought that the pressure of Gohan's exams were the main cause. Goku apologized to Videl especially,
knowing this was hard on the girl.

* * *

From the kitchen window, Gohan watched as a bawling Videl ran to her helicopter and took off.

He hung his head, feeling like a bastard.

Bra was at the mall with her friends when she stopped by a one-hour photo. The clerk, a chubby girl from her gym class,
chatted with her briefly. Jessica, the girl, looked at Bra's pretty dress and expensive purse in envy as Bra, surrounded
by a gaggle of friends left the store. Jessica didn't even bother to see if Bra was with her handsome brother because she
knew that the two never hung out in the same circle of friends. Jessica had a fleeting thought of Trunks, looking at some
tank tops at the men's clothing store across the way just over a month ago and sighed wistfully.

* * *

Trunks gave Goten a call, but he was out. ChiChi sounded strange on the phone with him and he wondered if Gohan had said
he was at Trunks' all night. She hung up on him when there was nothing more for him to ask. He tried Goten's cell, but
the boy must have had it off.

Trunks, feeling bored decided to just tidy up after last night, and then have a shower and a shave.

* * *

Gohan, feeling like a heel, pacing in his room, not feeling any relief from his guilt, decided he had to go over to Videl's.
He had to at least explain his behavior earlier. He wasn't sure if he would have the guts, but he thought he might try
to be honest with her and end things. He owed her at least honesty and didn't want to prolong her hurt if that was all he
was going to do in the end anyway. He left the house without a word to his parents, who were sitting in the kitchen
looking stung by him.

* * *

Bra ran in to the one-hour photo, calling out to her friend Stacy that she would be just a minute. She walked up to Stacy
behind the counter, ready to retrieve her pictures, from the same roll of film she had just finished that morning,
photographing her brother's and Gohan's sleeping forms. Jessica controlled her facial features as she handed the pictures
to Bra and accepted her payment. Bra ran out of the store to catch up to her friends.

Jessica watched until Bra was well out of site, then looked down at the four copies of photos she had made of the pictures
at the end of Bra's roll. Jessica, a sneaky look on her face, looked at them every few minutes.

* * *

Trunks checked his messages and saw that there was only one from Goten. He tousled his wet hair, not wanting to bother
with the blow dryer today. He looked in the mirror at himself as he speed dialed Goten. He noticed that his hair was
getting long and he would have to cut it soon.

"Goten?" when the other answered.

"Hey Dude, what's up?"

"Not much. What are you up to?"

"Ahh, I have to go to the mall and get a shirt that I ordered from the sporting goods store. Wanna come?"

Trunks had nothing better to do and sitting in his room thinking about Gohan would only drive him crazy so he said "yes."
He made arrangements to meet Goten at the mall since Goten was already out and about.

* * *

Jessica was sitting behind her booth, not wanting to risk another look at the pictures of Trunks (with another guy) around
her coworker Sean. Sean, a big, pimply guy who knew how to say all the wrong things to people, and who was an ass, was
the last person on earth she would ever want to find out about her secret.

Sean, the ass, to prove he was an ass, went on his third break in just 2 hours. As Sean walked out side of the store,
Jessica, to her horror, heard him say, "Hey Trunks, Hey Goten!"

The pair walked by, obviously thinking, who is this freak? They did politely say "Hey" back. Goten, though, remembering
something, quickly ran in the store, startling Jessica, who couldn't help but notice his resemblance to the guy in the
pictures. He grabbed a stack of photo printer paper and walked up to Jessica at the counter. Trunks stood behind him
looking bored. Sean, the ass, came up and tried to engage them in conversation. His attempt was rather stilted, and it
was obvious that he was just trying to kiss their asses because they were popular seniors.

Goten clearly rolled his eyes at Trunks without Sean noticing. Trunks noticed that Jessica saw, and tried to hurry Goten
up. As Jessica rang up Goten's order, Sean squeezed past her, pressing into her ample rear, and said, "Sorry Babe."
It was rather obvious that he was trying to hint that he was having it off with her to appeal to the two handsome Saiyans.
They, however, couldn't contain their distaste at the mere thought, however brief the look was that flitted across their
faces, and honestly, more due to the pimply faced Sean, than anything having to do with Jessica, but Jessica, nonetheless,
felt tears sting her eyes, as she handed Goten his change. Goten, saw the welling tears and thought it best to get the
hell out of that creepy store. Trunks was happy to leave too. They both left and Jessica's angry red eyes watched them
as they went.

Gohan landed on the walkway leading to Videl's home and hesitated. He was nervous, but sick to death of the different
scenarios playing themselves out in his mind. He went up to the door and rang the bell.

Her Butler, Reginald, answered, "Hello Master Gohan, come in."

"Hello Reginald. Is Videl in?"

"Yes Sir, right this way."

He walked Gohan to the study that Videl often used. Hercule usually spent all of his "office" time actually in the game
room.

Gohan let himself in to find Videl balling her eyes out, practically convulsing, on the expensive leather couch to his
right. Gohan couldn't help himself, the site of Videl in that state so startling and painful to him, he ran over to her
and grabbed her in his arms, trying to comfort away all of the tears. At first Videl just cried as if he wasn't there,
but then, his presence suddenly registered and she cried, "Gohan!" She grabbed him so hard that he almost felt pain.
He was reminded of how strong the girl was and realized that that was why her tears were all the more painful to him.

Before he could stop her though, she rained hot kisses all over his face and tried pushing him down on the couch. His mind
panicked and he pushed her away before he could think it out.

She looked at him, near hysteria. "You don't want to?!"

"What?!" Was all he could say, looking at her like she was crazy. She was about to speak again, a bit of snot leaking
out of her nose. He interrupted, "you want to NOW?"

He couldn't help the sneer that had crept into his voice just then, and she started to whimper, looking freshly pained.

She made a vain attempt at grabbing at him, but horrified by the hysteria evident on her face, he got up. "Videl, I
don't want you to be sad." He said this somberly, "but I think, you and I should spend a little time apart." She
started to convulse again, the tears so strong now. "Videl, I just can't do this anymore. The fact that you would want
to now, after so many times after my useless trying..."

He felt like a heel, and wanted to just leave.

Videl, sudden anger in her flashing blue eyes, stood up, and reaching up, slapped him across his face. He looked stunned.

"How dare you! I've been your fiancé for 9 years and this is what you do to me? Because I'm making you wait?! You just
act like a maniac and an asshole! You want to spend time apart? WE ARE ENGAGED, GOHAN! There is no time apart, get it?!
And if you want to get laid at all on your wedding night, you had better start remembering who it is you are talking to!"

Gohan, knowing he still hadn't given her any real concern for the state of their relationship still was surprised that she
didn't see the imminent danger here. He wanted out, but was too cowardly to put it into words, and it was evident she just
couldn't see this as a real problem.

Gohan made another attempt. Videl interrupted him.

Tears welled again as she said, "Gohan, I love you. Can't you tell? I worship the ground you walk on. I'd kill myself
if you were ever to really break up with me."

He looked at her, the blood leaving his face. "Videl, don't say that."

"No, Gohan, I have to let you know. I love you with all my heart. Life without you would be meaningless. I'd rather be
dead than without you."

He started to tremble. He couldn't do this. He couldn't even think of her harming herself over him.

"I've got to go," he said as if he were going to be sick. Videl saw the look on his face and new he needed some air.
She said, in a small voice, "Ok."

Then, as he turned to go, "call me tonight, Gohan. Please?" This last, emploringly.

He said, in a small voice back, "Ok, I will."

* * *

Gohan walked out of the Satan mansion as if his whole world were ending. He couldn't do it. He couldn't break up with
Videl just now and didn't see a way he could do it. He felt like the world was swallowing him up and with tears stinging
his dark eyes, he pushed all thoughts of Trunks out of his mind.

* * *

Bulma stood in Bra's bedroom, shaking uncontrollably. The young girl had arrived at home, and had to get ready for
volleyball practice that she was going to be late for. She had thrown her purse on the bed and changed quickly,
running out of the house to meet her ride.

Bulma went upstairs, knowing the girl had left her room in a state, to pick up after her. It was then that she saw the
pictures that had spilled from Bra's purse where she had thrown it. Bulma, seeing pictures of her smiling, pretty girl,
started to flip through them, and that was when she came across the photos of her Trunks...

And Gohan.

Bulma just stood there, tears welling, not knowing what the hell she was going to do.
