Chapter 7 - Defeat

Vegeta threw a Ki ball at the line of warriors, but it seemed to do little good. They had severly underrated the fighters on this planet, the name of which he could not recall. Many on both sides had fallen, but where the warriors of Fureiza had only the ones who had arrived, this race had them crawling out of holes or caves, they were becoming out numbered. Suddenly, he was struck from behind and he fell to his knees, Vegeta cast a glance around him, and then leapt back into the battle, but not long after that he was hit in the stomach by a burning mass of energy, and after the brightness, everything went black.

Nappa saw his fallen comrade, and rushed to his aid, but soon himself became so injured he could barely stand. The battle raged around the fallen bodies, unconcious or dead. Hours later, everything was quiet, apart from some screams of pain. Ginyu walked across the ground, his steps muffled by bodies. He had been called to assist for his force had been nearest, it had been quite a battle. He saw a scouter and went to investigate who it belonged to, he saw a shredded body and couldn't even distiguish who it belonged to. He shrugged and went back to his pod, and set the co ordinates for Fureizas ship, where he could recouperate. Vegeta came concious, and spat up a mixture of saliva, dirt and blood. He climbed to his feet and looked around blearily. He saw Nappa, his large form hardly missable. He grabbed Nappa by the arm and hauled him back to where they had left their pods. He would not let the remainders of the Saiya-jin species perish, he would make sure they survived. He barely had time to set the direction of their pods, on autopilot to Fureizas ship, before he slipped into a sleep again.
