Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Meow ❯ Graduation ( Chapter 10 )
Disclaimer: I do not own DB/Z/GT or any of the characters created by the all mighty manga Dende Akira Toriyama.
Author Note: This is my first time writing a real fanfic and I am not real sure about it. I would appreciate any input even flames at this point to help me revise this into what it deserves to be. Also, besides the Mandy thing and being late I took a lot of my own experiences from my graduation and put them into this chapter. I'm actually revealing a lot about myself in this chapter and hope it made it a bit better. Anyway I hope you enjoy.

Chapter 10: "Graduation"
After prom night neither Pan nor Trunks had told anyone about them being together yet. It was between them, Vega, Bra and Piccola. Trunks continued coming over while her parents were gone, sometimes they'd sit and talk, other times…well anyway. And then the day she had been waiting for these last four years had finally arrived. Her exams were over; she had worked hard and long for it. And it was now time for her high school graduation.
The morning of Pan's graduation
She opened her eyes slowly and realized the sun was shining in on her. She stretched and rolled over to see her clock reading 8:04. She closed her eyes and stretched and yawned a few more time and ended in a sprawled out position in the middle of her bed. 'I don't wanna get up today. This feels too good to leave,' she thought smiling all cozy in her bed. But eventually she felt the need to get up. So leaving the comfort of her bed she slowly got to her feet and stretched once more and shivered at the difference in temperature from her bed.
She made her way across the cold floor to the bathroom and shut and locked the door behind her. She continued with her daily routine as she stepped into the shower and let the steam and hot water hit her body. Taking her puff ball she began washing her body of all its stiffness and pains. She had never really had any sore muscles until that night. She smiled and couldn't help but blush at the thought. "Today it all comes out," she said to herself letting her smile fall.
She raised her hand to scrub her neck but the puff ball fell to the ground as her body gave out. She remembered wondering why this happened today as she blacked out in the shower.
It was so cold and dark. 'Where am I," she thought to herself as her eyes slowly opened revealing total darkness. She noticed she was floating totally naked in the darkness, herself being the only thing visible in this cold place. She wrapped her arms around her body and looked around only to find nothing.
But there was something. Her ears picked something up. A noise coming from her left. She moved her body that way and found she could float in that direction. She continued floating until she came upon the small form of a girl. She noticed then the noise she heard was crying. She continued moving forward but as soon as she got within 5 feet of her she couldn't move any closer. She continued floating but the girl seemed to be floating back too.
"What's the matter," she said and felt goose bumps rise on her arm as she heard her voice echo in the vastness. The girl stood up and looked at Pan, but for some reason she couldn't see anything from the neck up. Her entire head was cast in a shadow.
"Please," she whined. "Please don't let them take me away. Please," she said and started sobbing again. Pan reached out with her arm to take the girl up in her arms but the girl began fading away into nothing. Once again Pan was alone in the dark. She felt so cold, but now it was different, it was like tiny beads of the cold were pounding against her body. She closed her eyes and opened them slowly to find herself back in the shower with the water still running, but now cold.
She sat up and flinched at the bruise on her right shoulder. 'Man I must have fell pretty hard," she thought as she noticed a dent in the shower. She turned the shower off and slowly climbed out of the shower wrapping a towel around her and slowly making her way back to her room. For some reason she was still pretty dizzy from the fall. But she was able to make it to her room and sit on the bed to rest a second. That was until she looked at her clock.
"Holy shit it's 11:30! Graduation starts in a hour and a half," she screamed throwing her towel to the ground and rushed around trying to get dressed and eat at the same time. While the result was that she was able to eat but then had to change her cloths again as her 4th bowl of cereal spilt milk all over her. Once she was together and in her cap and gown she glanced as the clock read 12:38. "Shit! I only have 22 minutes to get there and get in line!" She jumped out the window and into the air thinking, "god why did this happen today?"
12:50 at Orange Star High School
"Where is she," said Trunks peaking around the hallway where the line of graduates waited impatiently as cards with their names were handed to them. He found Piccola who was suppose to be 2 people in front of Pan and didn't see her. "Vega," he whispered loudly getting her attention.
"Where's Pan?" She shrugged her shoulders.
"She hasn't shown up yet," she said and quickly turned away as the principal started talking about how in a minute they would all be going out and remember rehearsal. Trunks was so caught up in looking for Pan he didn't notice the vice principal come up behind him.
"May I help you," he said making Trunks almost just through the ceiling. He turned to see Mr.Scewloonis (AN: Screwy Louie to anyone who went to my high school hehe).
"No, I'm fine. I was just going to wish my friend Son Pan good luck," he said backing away from the extremely creepy looking man.
"Well I'm sorry but she hasn't shown up yet and you need to take your seat if you wish to see the ceremony. Once it has started no one will be allowed in or out. Is that clear?"
"Y-yes sir," he stuttered and grudgingly made his way back to the football field to take his seat in the bleachers by his family.
A second later Pan came jogging through the hallways just as everyone was walking down the hallway. Mr.Maygar the principal ran up to her asking, "Name?"
"Son Pan," she replied hurriedly looking at Piccola. She danced around nervously until he handed her her name card and she ran to catch up to Piccola and claim her spot just as they went out the doors. She slowed her pace and caught her breath as they slowly made their way to their seats. Piccola jammed a rose in Pan's hand saying she got her an extra when they were passing them out earlier. She nodded and thanked her as they slowly walked down the football field and took their seats.
The ceremony was lengthy as usual, but Pan couldn't wipe the smile off of her face. This was going to be the last time she saw some of these people which saddened her but made her glad at the same time as she glanced back at Mandy somewhere in the back rows for those with non-honor status. (AN: Meaning it goes highest honors, high honors, honors, and then just everyone else). There were many different speakers and other people who gave some words of advice for the future. Somewhere in there they had a 82 year old man who was finally getting his high school diploma since he dropped out during WWII, come up because he was getting tired. Then it came time for the diplomas and Valedictorians. Her class actually had 2 of them. They went up and gave their speeches and finally it came time for their diplomas. Slowly everyone made their way up to receive what they had earned in these last 4 years. Pan's row stood and she waited there actually nervous as she waited for her name to be called.
"Son Pan," broke through her thoughts as she made her way up the ramp and received her diploma and cast a glance up to her family as they were all clapping for her, and to Trunks. He looked so happy and actually whistled at her causing her to blush as she stopped for the quick graduation picture and made her way back to her seat. She sat there watching everyone go up and clapped for her friends as they made their way up as well. She watched so many faces go by; even if she had never really talked to them before, with every face that went by she remembered a little bit of her last four years and held back the tears threatening to fall. But suddenly something was different. She listened and everyone was dead silent. She looked up to see Mandy walking up to get her diploma and noticed everyone staring at her, so hateful. Mandy looked about ready to cry.
'That's just wrong,' she thought and felt bad for Mandy. 'Yes she wasn't the nicest person in the world. But she should be enjoying this, not being treated like she's scum.' And with that thought Pan softly clapped as Mandy made her way up stage. She turned from the stage for a second to see who was clapping for her, and Pan thought she saw a small smile creep across her face as she continued and heard a few other claps joining her. As the principal came up to the microphone everyone stood.
"I now present to you, the class of 2002," he announced and immediately hats flew through the air and people started filing out and walking towards the school. Vega and Piccola ran up to Pan and hugged the hell out of her. All of them, even Pan, now crying and laughing at the same time. Pan stopped and let go as she noticed Mandy approaching her. She walked up to Pan smiling, on the verge of tears.
"Thank you," she said softly, extending her hand to Pan. Pan looked at her hand and back to her face and came forward and embraced her in a hug, and felt Mandy's arms around her as well.
"It's graduation, you should enjoy it," said Pan pulling back smiling. With that everyone turned and walked inside where they turned in their gowns for their actual diplomas and met up with the teachers present, probably the last time they would ever see each other. Pan walked back towards the gym and saw her family and friends coming in and ran over to hug them.
"Oh Pan we're so proud of you," said her grandma hugging her hard. She sat there and was bombed with compliments and other things before she felt two people grab her from behind and pull her into a big pile of people on the ground.
Pan turned to her two good friends Vega and Piccola. They had been friends since 5th grade, but they hadn't really became good friends until high school. Something just bound them together. They were like the three musketeers. She never wanted to loose them.
Everyone continued congratulating her until there was almost no one left at the school and everyone headed outside to the cars. They were all going out to eat to celebrate and let the adults get drunk. "Hey Pan can I ride with you," said Trunks coming up behind her and placing his hand on her right shoulder and jumped back as she screamed in pain catching everyone's attention. And making Gohan give Trunks an extremely scary I-am-going-to-kill-you look.
"Pan I'm sorry," he said not sure what to do. "I didn't think I would hurt you. I mean I didn't even put any force behind it," he said getting scared.
"It's ok it's not your fault," she said holding her shoulder. "I hurt it this morning in the shower," she said.
"How did you hurt yourself in the shower," said Bra. 'Shit I don't wanna have to explain that weird black out thing. What do I do, what do I do? Divert attention now," her mind screamed.
"Oh yeah I have something important to tell you all," she said quickly. "Trunks and I have been dating for about a month now," she said and quickly regretted it.
"What," screamed ChiChi and Bulma, while surprisingly everyone else just shrugged it off.
"We've known for a while," said Videl referring to her and Gohan.
"Bra you said you wouldn't tell," she screamed.
"I didn't," she screamed back.
"She's telling the truth," interrupted Videl. "I found out when I found Bra's blue roses on the ground in front of the doorway. And the fact you're taking a nap in the middle of the day? Please Pan."
"E-even you know...daddy," she asked with a hint of fear in her voice.
"Yes, I noticed when I went over to capsule corp. for lunch a couple of weeks ago and noticed I felt his ki over our house and your mother only confirmed it when I asked her." Pan and Trunks both physically paled and gulped. Gohan came up between the two and put a hand on their shoulders (he made sure it was on Pan's left shoulder). "At first I wanted to kill Trunks by ripping him limb to limb." Trunks felt his body begin to shake like a leaf and actually felt like he wanted to wet himself. "But then after your mother talked to me for a long, long, long time she convinced me that Trunks is probably one of her best choices because he's not using her for anything and he is stronger." Trunks regained some of his composure after a while and looked a bit relieved.
Gohan quickly leaned over and whispered in his ear, "But if you EVER hurt my daughter in any way I will make sure of it after I'm done with you not even the dragonballs could bring you back!" With that he let go and walked over to the cars.
"Daddy what about you," asked Bra
"I just smelt the brat on him whenever he came home form his little afternoon rendezvous."
That night in Pan's room
Pan fell back on her bed and rolled over to stare out at the full moon and glanced at the little device on her wrist blinking every now and then. 'God I'm exhausted. But today was great. I never would have expected that everyone would take the thing about me and Trunks so good. Even though my grandma did babble on about grandchildren a little more then I wanted to. And then I got home and had a letter from Tokyo University with an acceptance letter. Today was a lot of fun. Even if everyone got a little too drunk for their own good,' she thought remembering the fight between her grandmother and Vegeta. 'But what was up with the black out thing earlier? Who was that little girl?' She shrugged it off as her just waking up and the steam and hot water getting to her. With that she rolled over and closed her eyes hoping for a dreamless slumber.
Who was that little girl in the dream? Why did Pan black out? Does Gohan know Trunks and Pan are having sex? What would he do if he found out? What now that Pan is on summer vacation? In the next chapter: "Summer of Secrets."
AN: This is about the time where this fic I believe gets a bit more into action, but don't worry I'll try and keep the romance up.
