Piccolo's Heart

Scene I: Kim's room in the Lookout
Kim, wearing her classic lavender gi, sits at her desk, looking at the handsome Namek sleeping under the covers of her bed. She sighs as she picks up the a picture from her desk. It has her friends and family all surrounding her in a very happy shot. She lays the picture back down and opens her laptop computer.
Piccolo: How is it you always seem to wake up before me?
Kim: I dunno.
Piccolo: {sits up in the bed, the covers falling to his waist, showing he is very nude} What is wrong? You don't sound normal.
Kim: Have I ever sounded NORMAL? {slams her laptop closed and turns to Piccolo}
Piccolo: {winces} Kimberly…
Kim: I am sorry, Pici-chan. I didn't mean to snap. I guess the wedding pressure is getting to me.
Piccolo: Shall I take your mind off it? {smirks}
Kim: As delectable as that sounds, I think I need a change… Maybe I can go visit Shin or… I dunno… I just am… tired. {rubs her face}
Piccolo: {concerned} Do whatever you need to do. I'd rather have you back to your old self. If you need me I will be with Gohan, today.
Kim: That's right. You are going with Gohan to go find rings.
Piccolo: You forgot? You are not at all well. {reaches his arm out and feels her forehead} You do not have a fever.
Kim: As I said, I am tired and I need a change. Can you tell Bulma for me? I think I really should go see Shin today.
Piccolo: Now, don't you go and leave me for the Supreme Kai.
Kim: {chuckles weakly} Wouldn't dream of it.
Piccolo: …Are you sure you are…
Kim: Oh, don't worry about it, Piccolo. I really just need a break from the wedding.
Piccolo: Okay… {wary} I love you.
Kim: I love you, too, Pici. {leaves}

Piccolo takes the picture off the desk and looks at it.

Meanwhile Kim has called Shin and he has teleported her to his palace in the Otherworld.
Scene II: Random Jewelry store
Piccolo and Gohan look at the vast cases of rings. Gohan watches as Piccolo seems preoccupied. He knew his sensei would not be interested in the rings but he sees that he is definitely disturbed.
Gohan: Sensei, I knew that you would not enjoy this but…
Piccolo: No, it is not this. I want to find a ring but…
Gohan: Something is bothering you?
Piccolo: Kim is not happy and I think it is because she misses her friends and family.
Gohan: I see. Where is she today? I heard you tell Bulma she didn't feel like shopping today.
Piccolo: She went to the Supreme Kai's.
Gohan: {shocked} She really made friends with him, huh?
Piccolo: Yes. {annoyed} I just wish… I want her to be happy. But today… she was so sad… and she has been trying to hide it.
Gohan: Well, let's find her a ring that might cheer her up. {smiles}
Piccolo: I guess, but… I wish I could bring her friends here.
Gohan: I know but it doesn't work that way.
Piccolo: You never told me if you wanted this wedding…

Piccolo: She always wears this ring on her finger… she said her father got it for her. The stone is white but in the light it has different color specks in it.
Gohan: You mean that opal ring she wears?
Jeweler: So you think she likes opals?
Piccolo: Yes and she hates gold. She only wears silver colored jewelry.
Jeweler: Well I have some platinum rings and I think I might just have an opal one.
Piccolo: Good.
Gohan: Videl likes it gold and modest… but enough to show off to her friends.
Jeweler: I will bring them out… {goes off in the back}
Piccolo: Sounds right.
Gohan: Same with yours.
Piccolo: Have you seen your clothing?
Gohan: Uh yeah, why?
Piccolo: Because they won't let me see mine.
Gohan: Uh oh… doesn't sound good…
Piccolo: I know.
Jeweler: {returns with displays of rings} Well, I do have an opal in platinum… it is quite pricey, because it is surrounded by diamonds.
Piccolo: Price does not matter, right now. But if you try to cheat Bulma, it could be very dangerous.
Jeweler: And for you, sir… I recommend this simple but elegant gold diamond ring.
Gohan: Sure. Look, just charge it to Bulma Briefs…
Jeweler: And for your bands?
Piccolo: I have to wear a ring?
Gohan: Just pick out matching ones. Come on, Piccolo, we need to talk. {leaves the store with Piccolo following}

Scene III: Supreme Kai Palace
Kim sits at an elaborately decorated table with Shin.
Kim: So, this is where you live… it's really beautiful… um, did you decorate?
Shin: No need to do small talk. You need to ask me something?
Kim: Umm… well… I was wondering…
Shin: Kimberly… just ask. There is no point in being so nervous.
Kim: You know how Shenlong brought me here from my dimension…
Shin: Yes.
Kim: I have been erased from my friends and families memories… but still… I remember them… the times we shared…
Shin: You miss them?
Kim: Horribly… I don't want to go back but… I really miss them.
