Piccolo's Heart

Key: This is going to be like a play… most of my stories are dialogue anyhow. If a person is thinking it, it will be in parentheses. If a person is speaking telepathically, it will be in pound signs. The chapters will be dived by acts consisting of scenes. Got it? Good.

Setup: Piccolo has been wandering Earth for five years after Cell… trying to find his life's purpose. No one of the Z squad has seen him since Goku's death, not even Gohan.

Act XXVIII: The Color Pink




Scene I: A few months and no sign of the Lord of Darkness


Vegeta reclines on the couch as Aria wobbles around the living room. Vegeta looks to be staring blankly at the ceiling but the moment Aria trips, he is there to catch her. Kim smiles and Vegeta catches Aria again.

Kim: If you do that too much, she will become dependant on you being there to catch her.

Vegeta: (This girl has such power.) I understand.

Kim: I wonder what Piccolo is doing. I really miss him.

Piccolo: You called. {smirks}

Kim: {whips around} Piccolo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {runs and hugs him}

Piccolo: I know it's been awhile. {hold her and kisses her}

Aria: Dada! {runs up to Piccolo and hugs his leg}

Piccolo: Aria… she can walk.

Kim: You're lucky she remembers you! You've been gone for months. {scolds him} (I know… it was for us.)

Piccolo: I know, but I've finished training. I'm here for good, now.

Kim: Good!

Piccolo: {glances over at Vegeta} By the way, Vegeta, nice shirt.

Vegeta: {looks down at the pink shirt, Kim made him wear} Your wife picked it out.

Piccolo: Oh really?

Aria: Dada, stay?

Piccolo: Yes… {picks Aria up, releasing Kim} I'm back for good.

Vegeta: You weren't here to see her first steps.

Kim: {looks at Vegeta and shakes her head} Vegeta, don't try to start something.

Vegeta: I will not stand by and let him just waltz right in. He has been gone for three months!

Kim: Vegeta! {hisses} You have been gone from your family just as long.

Vegeta: They visit. {shrugs} And I don't cry because I miss them.

Kim: {blushes} Vegeta! Stop it!

Vegeta: I hope you remember just who was here when you needed-

Piccolo: Shut up.

Vegeta: Namek!

Kim: STOP IT! {collapses to her knees} Why can't you two just get along?

Piccolo: Kimberly…

Kim: Come on, Aria. {takes Aria from Piccolo}

Piccolo: I…

Nail: #Tell her you did it for her… tell her you just want to protect your family! Dammit! Tell her something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#

Piccolo: #It makes no difference. I was gone for too long.#

Aria: Dada! {reaches for Piccolo}

Piccolo: Kimberly, I never meant to make you cry. I had to train.

Kim: {does not turn} I was worried to death. I heard no word from you and I could not even sense you.

Vegeta: Not a word… from you or Kakarott.

Kim: That's enough. {walks away into her room}

Vegeta: You don't deserve her.

Kim: Here we go, Aria. {plays music on computer}

Aria: Dada go?

Kim: No. (She should be with her father. I am just so upset that he didn't think of even sending me a telepathic message! He knows instant transmission, he couldn't visit?)

Aria: Then where dada?

Piccolo: {knocks on door} I should have- I could have- But I needed to train. I have something worth living for. No more protection through sacrifice.

Kim: Good for you.

Aria: Dada? {runs to door and reaches for door knob}

Kim: Aria, come here. {she runs back} Mama has to go-

Piccolo: Where are you going? Kimberly don't do this!

Kim: I need to go out for awhile. I'll be back soon. Sooner than dada.

Aria: Why, mama?

Kim: Because I need to think. And I can't with your dada and uncie yelling all the time.

Aria: Ok.

Piccolo: {breaks down door} Kim, don't be foolish. You know why I had to train and why I was gone. {walks over to her}

Kim: Get away from me! Vegeta's right! {takes a few steps back from Piccolo}

Vegeta: {leans on door} Come on, kid. Your parents need to talk.

Aria: Uncie!!!!!! {runs to Vegeta and takes his hand}

Vegeta: Don't let him weasel out, Kim. {walks away}

Kim: I don't care that you were gone! I know you had good reason to be gone but I didn't know if you had been killed!!! I didn't hear word from you and the only reason I knew you were alive was because of Shin!

Piccolo: I had a reason to not speak to you, as well.

Kim: And that was?

Piccolo: If I spoke to you, I knew I'd miss you too much and want to return. I had to focus or I'd come back and not be strong enough to live and protect you!

Kim: I don't care!!!! I cried every night, even when Shin told me you were okay!!! Aria was ill and you weren't here. Vegeta took care of me and Aria when I got very sick!

Piccolo: It killed me, not knowing how you were doing. But we discussed this before I left.

Kim: You said a few weeks! I could handle one month or even maybe two… {tears stream down her face}

Piccolo: I know… I screwed up. But I am not going to leave ever again.

Kim: I don't care!

Piccolo: Kim… I'm so sorry. Please understand.

Kim: No! I promised myself…

Piccolo: I did this for you and for Aria. I didn't want her to have to fight. I want to protect you and her.

Kim: I trained, too. I got stronger but I was here.

Piccolo: My progress would have been limited here.

Kim: So!

Piccolo: What can I say? I want to be here with you and Aria. I want my family!

Kim: You want…. You want!

Piccolo: Kim… what do you want me to do? What do you want?

Kim: I wanted you to be here when Aria took her first steps! I wanted you to be here when Aria asked where you were! I wanted you to be here when I was lonely and sick and scared!

Piccolo: {gets to his knees} Please, Kim. I'll beg if I have to. Forgive me. I'm here, now and I won't ever leave again.

Kim: Except when some evil monster comes.

Piccolo: That is to protect you.

Kim: If you were to die!

Piccolo: I realize that. That is why I worked so hard to be strong. I will not save you by sacrificing myself because I know that will only kill you. I will save you by fighting at my best.

Kim: And me? What is to become of my training with Vegeta?

Piccolo: You can continue your training.

A evil presence is felt by Piccolo and Kim.

Kim: Dammit!

Piccolo: Shit! Don't worry. I can handle it.

Kim: Fine… But Vegeta's already left to go handle it.

Piccolo: Is he trying to steal you again?

Kim: {sarcastic} Yes, Piccolo. Vegeta's main goal in life is to steal your family.

Piccolo: And he just left Aria!

Kim: Aria, come in here.

Aria: {walks in} Uncie went bye-bye.

Kim: I know. Fine, to end our argument we'll let Aria decide.

Piccolo: Aria?

Kim: Aria… do you think mommy should forgive daddy?

Aria: Mama love dada.

Piccolo: The girl seems smarter than the both of us.

Aria: Smart!

Kim: Fine…

Piccolo: What can I do to make it up to you?

Kim grins wickedly as Piccolo begins to sweat. This cannot be a good sign for Piccolo.








Scene II: Vegeta and the next villain

Vegeta stands with his arms folded eyeing his opponents. One is a man with brilliant orange scaly skin. He is bald but has a bright yellow mustache. The one standing behind him looks human but has golden skin and silver hair. His eyes have white hour-glass pupils; they are like two silver orbs.

Vegeta: Let me guess, more goons from the Lord of Darkness.

Orangeguy: Where is the halfling?

Vegeta: What halfling? There are several on this planet.

SilverDashingMan: {proper and deep voice} Prince Vegeta, of the Saiyains, you have settled down on this planet. If you would like this planet to stay in tact, I would suggest you handing over the Namekian brat.

Vegeta: {scoffs} You are a fool if you think that threat will work. And since you know who I am, it is only proper if you introduce yourselves.

Orangeguy: I am known as Treynan, not that it matters. You will soon be dead.

SilverDashingMan: Vegeta, I give you this opportunity to join us.

Vegeta: And who are you? (I can't sense anything from this guy. He is either really good or he's an android.)

SilverDashingMan: I am Nexxus… the Lord of Darkness' first in command.

Vegeta: I will not work for anyone. I fight of my own volition.

Treynan: Then you shall die. {starts to advance towards Vegeta}

Nexxus: Halt. {Treynan stops instantly} Prince, the Lord of Darkness, only wishes for the child. All you have to do is give us the child and we will leave in peace.

Vegeta: And if I don't?

Nexxus: You will die and we will destroy this entire planet.

Vegeta: We'll see about that! {powers up to Super Saiyain}

Treynan: Stand back, my lord. I will handle this creep.

Vegeta: #Kim… I can handle one of these guys… but… this other guy… I can't sense at all. I recommend you get Piccolo's ass out here.#

Kim: Piccolo… Vegeta needs help.

Piccolo: Dammit… I can't believe you are making me wear this.

Kim: Pink looks very nice on you. Now go help Vegeta. Use your power of protection.

Piccolo: A pink shirt is one thing… but a pink gi!

Kim: Come on! Go go GO!

Piccolo: I'm going. Kami, give me a break! {instant transmissions to where Vegeta is}

Vegeta: {looks at Piccolo… smirks and then bursts out laughing}

Piccolo: Oh shut up, Vegeta.

Vegeta: Oh my, I can't believe it!

Nexxus: You must be the Namek that fathered the halfling.

Piccolo: {looks at Nexxus} Nameks are asexual.

Nexxus: Don't try to fool me! I know who you are and I know you have a wife. Tht ring on your finger proves you are not asexual.

Piccolo: {looks at the ring and then at Vegeta as he kills Treynan.} So I have a wife.

Nexxus: Kimberly… and your daughter is Aria. Thank you for the information. The both of you have helped tremendously. {disappears}

Piccolo: Vegeta! {grabs Vegeta and transports back to his house}

Kim: What happened?

Vegeta: Great! He could read our minds! Shit! And we can't sense him!

Kim: Don't use that language around Aria! {picks Aria up}

Piccolo: Kim, we are in big trouble.

Kim: All we have to do is set up a watch. You don't sleep much, anyways, Mister. {pokes Piccolo's pink gi}

Piccolo: You are awfully calm about this!

Kim: Will it help if I panicked or cried? No. I am just going to keep Aria close to me. No one will ever take her away from me!

Vegeta: You have grown up, a lot.

Kim: Have I?

Piccolo: You have. I think we should go to Shin's… Vegeta and Goku can protect Earth.

Kim: Shin's?

Shin: #I'm sorry, it isn't possible for you to stay here. But I'll tell you the Lord of Darkness does not plan to strike until Aria is of age.#

Kim: When?

Shin: #When she is eighteen. Have no fears until then. I swear to you.#

Kim: Seventeen years…

Piccolo: What did Shin say?

Kim: They won't attack until she is of age.

Piccolo: Is he sure?

Kim: He swears… and I trust him.
