Chapter 14 - Escape

Marron opened her eyes, and looked up at the night sky. The skylight gave and adequate view of a few stars and a racing pod that shot out to space. The humming that was in her ears had yet to stop. "I can't be pregnant." She said softly. She knew Bardock was near by, his strong aura fairly demanded attention. She had a new feeling engulfing her as she focused on the new path her life had taken. She was scared. This was not something she was prepared to handle. Even if she were home on earth things would be different. There were things she could do, action she could take. As it stood now she had no ability to either terminate the pregnancy or protect the child from its father. How could she be pregnant? She had never even thought about the possibility of it before now. She was going to have Goten's baby, and she didn't even like that man. "How did this happen?" she groaned.

Bardock chuckled in the back round. "I could refresh your memory if you like, but I doubt that is needed." He joked lightly.

She sat up and looked around for him. "Ohh I know how it happened, but…why?" Marron shook her head slowly as she buried her face in her hands. "What have I done to deserve this punishment."

Bardock shrugged. "I wish I could answer that question for you. I need to know what you intend to do." He gave her a somber look. "Will you be turning to the Earth?"

Marron nodded firmly. "That goes without saying. No child of mine is going to be raised like Goten was. Don't get me wrong; I just love the idea of being servant. Not to mention the degrading that seems to come from every Saiyan I encounter. "

"Then I suggest, to make it easier, and save thousands of lives and lots of pain." Bardock walked over to her and handed her a cup of steaming liquid. "You never tell Goten. He will not let his son go. No matter who the mother is." He watched her take the cup suspiciously. "Drink it will sooth your nerves."

Marron grabbed her stomach at his words. "A boy? That was not on the read out sheet. Bardock. How did you know that? Who the hell are you?" She stood up tossing the cup and its contents to the side. "WHAT ARE YOU?"

"I am cursed." Bardock narrowed his eyes. He hoped the foolish girl did not challenge him further on the subject. He didn't like thinking about his telepathic ability as it was. Besides it was not as if this alien girl needed or deserved to hear his life's tale. She would be carrying on his family line. The proof of that's life force was growing quickly within her, but she was not the only one. Pan would eventually relent to Trunks demands. Of this he was certain. Then there was Bra. Bardock frowned. Marron being around to grow fat with Goten's child would not make things any easier. Bardock looked to Marron's demanding blue eyes. It was clear she was not about to leave well enough alone. "Now I have to leave you. Take care of yourself and the little one."

Marron watched the image of Goku walk out the door leaving her alone in the room. This was all happening so fast. She had known to get Pan off this planet as soon as possible, but now this. She looked at her hands resting on her stomach. What would her family say? She sighed. She knew in her heart no matter what they would love her, but did she have the strength to admit she had willingly given herself to her captor. She would deal with that when the time came. Until then there was one thing left that she could do. For the first time since this entire nightmare started she dropped her head to her knees and cried.

PAIN!! Goten rolled away from the blast. He had not moved quickly enough and found his formals were almost completely destroyed by the blasts backlash. She was powerful. More powerful then anyone he had ever fought with before. He was starting to wonder how much protection Prince Trunks really needed? After all Princess Bra was his sister and their powers had to be comparable. Maybe Goten was the one who had needed a body guard his entire life?

Bra hovered over Goten. The look on her face was a mask of fury and sadness. "Any last words, my love?"

Goten lay on the ground looking up at his Demi angel. It did take his warrior's brain long to decide what to do. "Yeah"

"I will be merciful, and hear them now." Bra waited. Her arm out stretched before her, the power of her ki illuminating her features.

Goten rose to his feet and pause, wiping the dirt and soot from him. Then with out warning he suddenly bolted. Tactical retreat!! He ran for the palace doors. This was the only option open to him. Death was no choice at all, and facing King Vegeta was not any better. There was no explaining his actions in taking Marron as his servant to Bra that the Princess would understand.

Bra floated to the ground in shock. She blinked her large blue eyes for a few times before her laughter echoed. She shook her head and wiped a tear from her eye. "There goes one man who is going to think twice before he screws around on me again." Satisfied she started to her room. She hummed as she mulled over Plan B. Act all innocent at the banquet.

************************************************************* ***********

Pan sighed under Trunks as he removed the clothing that separated them. As he moved over her his voice was husky and mesmerizing. "I swear I will bond with you properly tonight." He moved his hands over he shoulders, the fingertips sending tiny currents of sweeping desire down her shivering arms.

Pan was fighting the emotions at her very core. She was able to feel his desperation as strongly as he could feel hers. This was coming down to a battle of wills. Pan knew that if they stayed in this bed, in this room, she was going to lose. She would lose her life, her family, her world, and worst of all herself. She would no longer be Son Pan of Earth, the carefree girl who worried more about escaping her training and schoolwork. She would be reborn as Pan, the Demi- Saiyan Breeder to his highness the Crown Prince Trunks of Vegeta-sei. She choked back the physical pain and nausea that the thought invoked. Pan tried to rise; her head and shoulders came up sharply.

Trunks threw his leg over her so that he was now straddling her. He looked deep into her eyes, their faces so close their noses were practically touching. *Stay with me Pan. I will give you everything. * His hand gripped her wrists and drew them away from her sides. The plea was so sweet and soft in her mind, but his hands were becoming more forceful and unyielding.

Pan pinched her eyes shut. She let her head drop back away from him "Don't talk to me like that." She cried out as she tried to twist her hands free of his hold. "Stop doing this. Do you hear me Trunks! Stop this now."

*I can't stop. Not when I can feel your desire for me rising in you. * He let his face drop with in inches of her neck. There was desire. Pan admitted to her self, but having him so close to her, knowing his intentions was causing more panic the anything else. She could feel the regret radiating off him. He truly thought there was no other way to keep her. Pan hated to admit it, but it was probably true. She would never stay here. She was certain if he bonded to her now it would be the end of both their lives. Still there was no way for her to convince him of the grave error he was about to commit. It was then his voice echoed again, huskily in her ear. "So close now. Can you feel your blood singing?"

Pan screamed at the sound, flailing her legs in determination. She could feel it. She was feeling too much. It was like her desires, and his, were one and the same, and yet so incredibly different. She wanted her world. He wanted the best for his. She could see his mind set so clearly the closer he came to her. It was like the connection they had already transcended all ration realms of communication. The attraction had been an instant inferno of passion and lust. But was that enough? Could Pan truly live on those feelings for the rest of her mortal days? "Don't do this to me." Pan tried one last time. She tried to force back the tears of helplessness.

Trunks lifted his chin and tore his eyes from the tempting white column of her throat. Moving to lean over her he placed a kiss delicately on her forehead. "I will do what ever I can to keep you here, love." He spoke with a steady resolve. "Tell me what you want."

*You * The word flashed in her mind before she could stop it. Pan watched the smiled spill over on his face as his eyes light up. She had just sealed her own fate with that one wretched word. "No! I want my freedom, Trunks." She begged him, hating herself for it. "Please tell me I can go home."

"That is not what you really want." He spoke softly as he pressed his body against hers. "You want this." He said in a smugly assured tone. "You want me." His breath was hot and moist on her neck. "Don't deny it any longer."

Pan moved her head away from him the small fragment of distance she still had open to her. "I can't deny it. You will just read it in my mind."

He licked her neck lowly and whispered. "I know" into her ear.

Pan felt her breath coming in deep drawls. His teeth grazed over her neck in warning of the upcoming act of bonding, and she shuddered. Her arms twisted again under his trying to pull free. The once rebellious tail smacked him across his back as her body arched painfully. "Sweet Dende, Trunks my body is burning up." She cried out to him. It was not a passionate pain either. It was something primal and dangerous that she hand not known she possessed. It was a power that had been growing at her core ever since they had returned her tail to her.

Trunks stopped his assault on her neck. Pulling back he sensed the hot aura radiating off his intended mate. Worry for her welfare was first in his mind as he lifted off her slightly "Your fighting it, Pan you have to stop fighting." He growled in frustration. They were already partially bonded and her denial was no doubt causing her extreme pain and suffering.

"I am a warrior." She reminded him on a pant. "I can't stop fighting." Bardock's words came to her, and she could hear his voice as if he were beside her now. `There comes a time that strategy and all you have learned is not enough, Pan. You must feel your way through a battle. Especially when you appoint knows your moves before you do.'

Trunks froze. He could sense the change in her being. All other emotions evaporated aside concern and confusion, as he looked down at her suddenly blank features. "Pan?"

She reacted at the sound of her name on his lips. Powering up as much as she could. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" This was the only way to save her self. As much as she loved this man, she would not be trapped and manipulated for the rest of her life. Today she would lose him forever, but she would take back all he had taken from her, or die trying.

Trunks lost his hold on her wrists with the sudden increase of power that flooding from Pan's body. She was brought to her feet by the sheer power alone. The room flickered in light of a newly ascended Saiyan. Something Vegeta-sei had not seen for many generations.

"What the hell?!" Trunks desperately needed a scouter, wanting to know just what kind of force he was pitted against at this moment. He looked on in shock, as she turned entirely golden. "Pan, you're a Super Saiyan!"

They stood there facing each other, a golden goddess of light squaring off with her princely lover, both the stuff of legends. Pan ignored the new changes in her body. Forcing herself to remain fixated on her sole goal. "I am going home, Trunks." She watched as a dark look cross his features. The last thing she wanted was to battle him. "Please don't try to stop me."

Trunks took his stance. "I don't think I can stop you." He admitted calmly. "But I am not going to let you leave here without one hell of a fight." Trunks was completely serious as he raised his power. He could see now why he had been so intent on making Pan his mate. Not only was she stunningly lovely, but also she was indescribably powerful when provoked. "You will have to kill me. Because from this moment on you are my mate." He moved between her and the exit with a slow slide of his foot. "I would rather die then watch you leave with out doing every thing in my power to keep you. If I must forfeit my life in exchange I will." Dropping his head and narrowing his eyes he admitted. "My father was right. Demi- Saiyans are too dangerous to be allowed to have free range in the universe.

Pan's head snapped up at his words. "What are you saying."

"I am saying that once this battle is decided, if I still live, every Demi Saiyan out there will be returned to Vegeta-sei or killed." Trunks watched her ki flare even though she made no movements.

Pan blocked his gentle words and focused on her goal. Get Marron to the pods and escape to Earth.

********************************************************* **************

Vegeta drummed his fingers on the table and looked from Bulma to Bardock "Where are they?" Bulma paled and glanced over at Bardock, who ducked his head innocently. Vegeta followed her glance and smirked. Vegeta was not a fool. He knew full well the ablity that Bardock possessed. It was more the fact that he didn't want to make false decisions based on the visions of his solider. Vegeta's family had ruled over the Saiyan race for as long as any one could remember, and over Vegeta-sei since the Tuttles had been defeated. Still in this case it was not asking much to inquire why his children and their prospective mates were late to this banquet. "Come on Bardock." Vegeta smirked. "We all know, you know where they are."

Bardock shoved a huge piece of meat in his mouth and looked up. The look he gave a classic Goku look of utter blankness. "Mummm? Um dumm numm." He shook his head.

Bulma burst out laughing and Vegeta's shoulders dropped. "It's alright, Bardock." Bulma stuffed her hand over her mouth to refrain from another bout of laughter.

Vegeta crossed his arms. He sat back with his eyes boring into the older Saiyan. "You have to swallow some time."

Bardock cringed at his King's words. Bulma rest her hand on the arrogant King's shoulder "Honey, it doesn't not take a genius to realize where our children and their new mates are." She leaned closer and brushed her lips against his ear "Remember what things where like when I first arrived on Vegeta-sei?"

Vegeta remain completely motionless. Except for his lips, which turned up slowly at the edges.

At that moment Bra entered. She was dressed in a golden gown that flowed out behind her. She walked up to her father's table and curtsied to him. "Father."

Goten slid around the corner, seeing Bra in front of King Vegeta, he turned on his heels and began his exit. A hasty retreat seemed to be his method of operation this evening.

As it was, his luck did not hold, and a sharp cracking voice boomed behind him. "Lord Goten!" Vegeta stood up a motioned the man forward. "Come here."

Bra stood straight and looked over her shoulder. The blue hair swept over her shoulders like a cascading waterfall, and she smiled sweetly. "My lord Goten!" Bra chimed like the sound of musical bells

Goten froze, to run or not to run? That must have been his earthling side talking cause another part of him watched to rush over to her and wring her pretty little neck for her earlier actions. Slowly he spun and bowed "King Vegeta."

Vegeta looked him over. The uniform was new and ill pressed. Even Goten's hair was messed. Completely like unlike the upright devoted right hand of Prince Trunks "What happened to you?"

Goten banged his fist off his thigh as he narrowed his eyes on Bra. "I was sparring."

Vegeta motioned for Goten to move closer. Goten walked up to take his place standing next to Bra. "How are things going between you?"

Goten paled as Bra suddenly hugged his arm. "We just await your blessing for our bonding Father. I thank you for your thoughtfulness in choosing me such a strong respectable mate for me."

Vegeta repressed the urge to roll his eyes at his daughter. After all she had been the one to fairly demand that he chose Goten. "You are taking your time with this Lord Goten?" Vegeta moved the ball into the dark warriors court swiftly. "You already have my permission to take her as your own. Why do you wait?"

Goten swallowed hard and looked at his chuckling Grandfather. He resisted the opening he saw. It would be so easy to say `I realized the Princess was impure and homicidal to boot. Plus she is as jealous as she is beautiful. "It was the Princess Bra's desire to hear it from you own mouth, your majesty."

"Very well, Princess, I give you from this moment on into the care of Lord Goten. Upon your bonding he will become Prince Goten of Vegeta-sei, second only to Prince Trunks, in succession to the throne."

Bra paled at the words. "Second only to Trunks?"

Vegeta sat down and smiled at his daughter. "What? You expect me to pass the throne to a woman?" He regarded her closely "If Trunks can not fulfill his obligation to the throne Goten will succeed him."

Bardock spat the wine he was drinking across the room. Bulma patted his lightly on the back "Are you alright Bardock?"

Bardock shook his head trying to recover him self. "I am fine. There are just some things that even I do not see coming."

Vegeta looked over "Really? What have you seen lately?" Bardock reached out and grabbed a fist full of grapes, and began to drawl them toward his mouth. Vegeta intercepted his hand this time. He gave the older man a menacing look in the eye. "Tell me what you have seen." Vegeta demanded. "Is it so bad?"

Bardock frowned "UUAA. No. Yes." He frowned. "Well, maybe."

Vegeta let go of the man's hand as a solemn expression gathered around his eyes. "Tell me."

"The things I see can only be as accurate as the interpretation I give them, King Vegeta. I do not wish do disappoint your highness with my judgment." Bardock stalled. When was the last time he had found himself on the down side of a mental battle like this one??

Vegeta shook his head "Fine keep your visions to your self." If Bardock felt it was best the he didn't know, so be it. That meant once of two things though. One, it was of no concern to Vegeta personally, or two. He really didn't want to consider two.

Bardock sighed with relief, as Vegeta gave up his brooding, as well as every other person in the room.

********************************************************* ***********

Marron rapped the back of her hand on Prince Trunks quarter's door. There was no answer. She frowned. Was it possible that Pan was not here? They were having the banquet now. Marron debated on opening the door. With a shrug she hit the button and the door slid open.

"Sweet Dende!" Marron's eyes raked the devastation in the room. She ran over to the fallen figures. Pan lay next to Trunks, naked on the floor. Trunks was still partially dress, but Marron paid little attention to him. She was to concerned for her friends well being at the moment.

"Pan!" Marron shook the girl's unresponsive body. "Pan wake up." Marron lifted the other girl's shoulder and watched her head fall back lifelessly. "What have they done to you now?" Marron patted Pan's face, but Pan still failed to react. Marron frowned as a rush of panic started to gush through her. "I am so sorry, but…" CRACK! Marron let the flat of her hand sting across Pan's cheek with one swift swing.

Pan jolted up reaching for the sky. "Owwww." She took a deep breath weakly before rolling her head toward Marron. "Trunks?"

Marron sighed with a deep sense of relief, "Do you always think of him first thing these days?"

Pan blinked up, the face of her life long friend coming into view. "Marron?"

"Exactly." Marron looked around and grabbed the blue spandex off the floor. "Put these on." Pan stood up shakily. She fumbled with material and then started to slip into the clothes. "We have to leave, now. Everyone is at the banquet. Between Bra, Bulma and General Q the pods should be in place and the halls cleared."

"General Q?" Pan turned her head at the unfamiliar name. "I don't believe I have had the pleasure?"

"Displeasure you mean. General Q has his sights set on Princess Bra. HE wants rid of us, very badly." Marron sneered. She wondered what his reaction would be if he knew she was carrying Goten's child. That sure would drive one hell of a wedge between the couple. "He has turned traitor for us." Marron supplied. "Of course he had an official request from Bulma. She dragged him back from a mission some where to aid our escape."

Pan looked down at Trunks. Seeing him lying motionless and vulnerable in the floor. "I don't remember what happened here." She grabbed the armor and pulled it over her head. Pan turned to lean down next to her Prince.

Marron resisted the urge to kick Trunks' unconscious form. Instead pushed Pan's hair off her neck. "There are no marks here." Marron looked closely at either side before droping the thick mass of ebony. "Maybe you fought him?"

"Maybe." Pan had a flash of Trunks lips caressing her neck and she shuddered in remember ecstasy.

Marron grabbed her arm harshly. "Don't reminisce about it. We have to make our escape now while we have the time."

Pan pulled away from the biting grip. She was still feeling torn. Leaving Trunks was hurting her heart. "In a moment. I know where the space pods are." Pan let her hand caress trunks strong cheek. "I will be right behind you."

Marron sighed, "I understand." She looked at Trunks on the floor "Make it quick. I have to get off this planet with or without you. There is more to this then you know." Pan looked confused. "I will explain later." With that Marron raced from the room. With a happy yippee of excitement the blonde ran out the door yelling "Earth!! Here we come!"

Pan knelt by Trunks sadly. She kissed his cheek softly. "I do love you, my prince. But my soul must be free to live it's own life and make it's own choices." She felt the tears rolling hot down her cheeks as she softly touched his hair running the fragile fingers through the silky strands. "Forgive me, my lover." She pushed to her feet. Pan ran to the door, and there she looked back one last time and whispered, "Be happy."
