Chapter 18 - Unexpected

Pan cried out under Trunks as he buried his head in her neck. "My love, Mine." He growled in her ear. Why he was here didn't matter. Who he was didn't matter. Nothing but hearing her crying his name mattered. Trunks fought to retain enough control, not to hurt her. At this point that was about all he could settle for. He wanted her now. All of this kissing and touching was just taking too damn long. He grabbed the blanket and tossed it off the bed. The pillows followed just as effortlessly. The he began pulling at the fasting of Pan's pants. She let out a shocked cry. He looked up to see her amazed look. He knew he had never been overly rough with her like he was now. He didn't like the way he was feeling. She looked up at him quietly. Their eyes locking, Pan touched his cheek calming him instantly with her thoughts. She was totally willing to give into him. Rushing would serve them nothing. He did not have to fear losing her anymore. She was freely admitting that she belonged to him. Wherever he was she would be. This knowledge was calming to his subconscious, but the basic burning of his lust was still eating at him. He was starting to shake with the effort to control this madness.

AS if understanding, Pan pushed him on the bed and leaned over him. He closed his eyes and sighed. She was like cool water flowing over him. His being was being satisfied by her gentle touches and kisses. There was a tiny sound. Some one was whimpering. Was it him? It was him! He almost choked on the knowledge. There were tears running down his face. The Prince of the hardened Saiyan was being reduced to tears in his open desire for him mate. He was shaking and crying out as she moved over him. Pan pealed his clothing from his skin. He silently thanking every deity he knew. The cloth had been oppressive. Her skin was so soft and her hair brushed over his here and there. It was extremely erotic and completely innocent on her part. All she was doing was striping him and touching with her hands. Her hair was torturing him of it's own accord. He could have attacked her in these moments and forced her back down. Instead he lay there glorying in his defeat. Yes he was going to let her to win. She deserved it. He surrendered with a cry.

Pan watched her fierce lover crying out for her and studied his face as she pulled their clothing off. Her hands touched him as she had never down before. Not that she had ever been in the position to touch his body. Before she would have be rapidly thinking of ways to escape. Now the only thought in her mind were mixed with his. The need for her was too strong. How could she leave him in such pain? All he wanted was to be with her. There was nothing else left there. She could hold his entire planets fate in her hands and he was no longer caring. She frowned at the thought. She felt guilty for what she was doing to him. Yes his crimes against the universe where to numerous to mention. But who had been with him to let him know that his actions were wrong? In his world his word was the law. There had been no one to let him know right from wrong aside, Vegeta himself, that in it self was a joke. No, it was her duty to help him understand, to gently, with love, show him the rewards of benevolence and caring. Pan moved her hips over him. There was more then enough time to consider those things later. What mattered now was easing his torment. To offer her self up to him in these tender moments.

Trunks jolted as she slid down on him. Pan's moan of satisfaction mixed with his own deep groan. His hand locked on to her waist and held her close. This was what he was needed. Pleading for. She just handed it over to him. He opened his eyes "Thank you." He said with dazed eyes. Pan looked down at him and placed a finger to his mouth "Shhh." She shook her head. There was no need to thank her. Not when she felt the very core of his need so ridge and powerful within her. She moved with him gaining pace. Her yes drifting shut. It was odd feeling what he was feeling. It was like double the pleasure racing through her blood. Trunks felt it was well. The enjoyable knowledge that the one they loved was gaining so much pleasure from the other. To know the exact moment their lover lost control and shudder in response. Pan cried out first her hand wrapping around his for arms to retain her balance as she shook. Trunks roared and thrust a few more time before giving in. Weakly she slumped over his body and was drawn by his caring arms, and taken to his side.

He held her there looking up at the ceiling. Things were different now. His mate belonged to him. The world was his. He could go anywhere and know she would be there. He looked down at her as she drifted away from him in exhaustion. It was all right. He could fell the deep emotional attachment she felt for him hovering at the edges of her consciousness. All her love and loyalty right there, for him to know. She had held nothing of herself from him this time. Trunks smiled with a deep contentment. He was going to do the best he could for her. He knew the perfect way to start. It wasn't going to be easy but Trunks was going to make peace with her family, every damn one of them, even if it killed him.

The next day

Pan looked up at Trunks with nervousness in her eyes. Before she put her hand on the door of her parents home "Are you sure you want to do this." Trunks stared silently at her, and she felt his calm resolve. She opened her mouth to speak, but his large hand dropped on her shoulder.

Trunks leaned in, soothing her. "It will be alright."

"You can say that all you want, Trunks. This is not Vegeta-sei and my family doesn't particularly care for you." Pan closed her eyes and prepared for the worst. "They are not going to be easy on you." She opened the door to shout. "Mom. I am home."

Videl walked around the corner. "How did things go with…?" Her blue eyes opened wide "Trunks?" Pan's mother wavered on her feet a moment before a hand touched the wall steadying her. "What are you doing here?"

"I am trying to make peace with my mates life givers." Trunks looked around the room like a tiger searching for his opponent. It was perfectly clear Gohan was who he was scouting for, but the man nowhere in sight. Looking up at Videl he inquired evenly. "Where is Pan's father?"

Videl shifted uncomfortably. She could not very well tell him the Garron had run out of formula and needed some extra diapers. She carefully picked her words. So that she was not actually lying to the young prince. "He had to take Marron back the her house. She needed a few things."

Pan walked over and took her mother by the shoulders. The dark brown eyes settled on the sparkling blue ones "Mom, Trunks knows about Garron." Videl looked around Pan to Trunks. The worry flashed in her eyes as she searched for a sign as to what his reaction might be. Pan pulled the attention back to her as she added, "Trunks is not taking Garron back to Vegeta. It's going to be alright."

Videl let out the breath of relief; she had not realized she was holding. "Should I say `thank you?' Or are you going to do something more sinister the first moment our backs are turned to you?" Videl challenged. She resisted the urge to slap her hand over her mouth the moment the words were out. She simply could not help it. Gohan carried too much emotional baggage over the things the Saiyans had done to him. It was not fair to blame Trunks for this, and yet wasn't he their Prince? There for he could not be held completely blameless. Not to forget that he had abducted and force bonded to her daughter. Pan didn't seem overly upset over it. Videl could only hope that she and her only child would get a few moments soon to discuss the recent turn of events.

"He will not be around to do anything it." Pan let go of her mother. She hated what she was about to say. "I am leaving to Vegeta-sei with Trunks." Pan cringed away, waiting for the explosion.

"NOO!" Videl reached out to hug Pan close. She turned her large angry eyes on Trunks. "You can't take her from us." Trunks remained expressionless as he listened to the exchange between mother and daughter.

"MOM. I…" Pan tried to pull free of the death grip her mother had on her. She was trying to think of some other way of saying it aside, I sold my soul to him and I haven't gotten any choice.

"Actually," Trunks voice cut in. "I have not decided if I am returning to Vegeta-sei yet myself." Trunks murmured low. For the first time telling Pan his true intentions. "I am considering staying here indefinitely." He looked up at the shocked faces and added as if it made all the sense in the world. "To make my mate's life happier."

Videl blinked, her mouth was working but no words were coming forward. Pan stared at him. She could hardly believe she was hearing those words from Trunks of all people. How could he be considering staying on Earth? He had a planet to rule. People to protect. Could he really be considering giving up his royal life for her happiness? Trunks watched his mate as she mused over his statement. "Do you mean it, Trunks? Are you really willing to stay here on Earth with me?"

Trunks nodded shortly. "My place is with you. Yours is with me. I can't very well take you back to Vegeta-sei if being there will cause you pain and eventual death now can?"

Pan felt the tears stinging the corners of her eyes. She knew she should not be so happy when he was sacrificing so much. "What about Vegeta-sei?"

Trunks sighed and looked away. This was not something he liked thinking about. It would not be so simple and he didn't want to burden her at this time with the full ugly details. "The power would be passed to Bra's mate. It is true Goten is more then suited for ruling Vegeta-sei then I. I fully believe he is stronger then I am, and he does behave far more Saiyan in reaction as well. He and his judgments would be more accepted by the Saiyan people then mine." Suppressing his thoughts from Pan he continued to himself. It would be my father that I would have to worry about. He will not like the decision, and by Saiyan law I will have to battle with him. If I lose he has the right to kill me or force my return.

Pan felt the conflict with in him. She sensed the block and could only think the King Vegeta was behind his sudden dark look. "I am sorry." It was the only thing she could think to say.

Videl let go of Pan slowly. Relaxing now that she knew Trunks was not going to grab her and steal her away at any second. "I can't believe this." Videl piped up. " But I call it poetic justice!" She looked shook her head. Still stunned at the change of events "I don't want to sound cruel, but after taking Goten from Goku and Chichi all those years ago, and now this. It is ironic that their Prince might abdicate for Earth. Its odd that is for sure."

The door swung open and Gohan stepped in. "Sorry Honey, I just couldn't focus at work today so I came... home?" He looked to Trunks standing so casually in his home, then to his family. "What the hell is going on here?"

Videl gave her husband a savvy grin. "Oh wouldn't you like to know!"

Planet Vegeta.

Bulma watched as her mate raged. "How long is he going to be gone? I sent him to retrieve his mate." She saw worry flash in his eyes just before he bellowed, "If they have harmed him..."

"Don't think that way. Trunks is very strong. He is probably just working on diplomacy issues. Things would have been easier for us, if you had learned any." Bulma leaned up against Vegeta temptingly, and smiled. Trying to soother her husband's rage with sexual innuendo. Still the longer the Prince was gone the worse things around Vegeta-sei were going to get for everyone. It was true, Trunks should he returned from Earth long ago. She was beginning to wonder about his welfare herself, but if Trunks really was hurt… then what? Would it be by Goku or Gohan's hand? What would Vegeta do in retaliation against them? She looked at his angry eyes as he pulled away form her not even noticing her attempt to calm him. Bulma bit her lip and knew at once Vegeta was scared. He would never say or show it, but through their bond she could tell.

Vegeta glared over at Bulma. It was clear he was riled at his mate's invasion of his mind and the thoughts that she learned there. "Guards!" He moved away from her turning a cold shoulder to his Queen. Using actions to voice his dislike of her intrusion.

The door opened and two men took steps in. "Yes King Vegeta!"

Vegeta looked out a window crossing his arms. There was no help for it. Something had to be done. Vegeta was not the sort of man to stand around and wait. "Bring me General Q to me at once!"

Bulma gasped and came to her feet "Vegeta, NO!"

Vegeta ignored his mate. "Tell him to meet with me in the throne room. I have a new mission for him."

Goten watched Bra talking over the table with Q. Vegeta's first General was the strongest Saiyan in the entire military and hand picked by Nappa to succeed him. He had deep black hair that glowed with a blue light and dark black Saiyan eyes. True all pure Saiyans had black eyes, but General Q's could be blacker. What Goten didn't like most about the man was the look he gathered behind the man's eyes. Q was dangerous, just plain dangerous. Oh yes, in the years Goten had known him; he had seen Q move up the ranks of the Saiyan army like lightening. Until no one was higher respected in the fighting offensive then the Royal family, and of course himself. Q must have resented that fact. He was Vegeta's second as Goten was to Trunks. The difference was Goten had been handed his place. Q on the other hand had worked for every murderous and bloody inch of it.

"So when you returned I was so excited. I had to come down here to see you!" Bra leaned over the table and took Q's hand in hers. There was complete adoration in her eyes as she stared at the older man. Goten grimace at the sight of his mate touching the dark warrior. Q laughed evenly and patted Bra's hand back with a more then familiar motion. "I heard you went to the Bontelion system. I don't know why you would willingly go into such a dangerous and unrestful place." Bra stuck out her lip and pouted. "You missed my bonding ceremony, and you could have been killed."

"I was fine, and you know I never had to leave in the first place. Still there are things that needed done out there. Now I a certain our troops are so well equipped. I am no longer needed tin the planetary takeovers that are commencing there. Although, I admit, the sheer fun of blasting the locals is inviting. " Q said jokingly, flashing a wicked grin at the Princess. Turning his attention to Goten he smirked victoriously.

Goten growled low in his throat. He knew that it was no joke. As much as Goten would have liked to hide it, he too, was thrilled by the blood lust that engulfed the Saiyan kind on a planetary take over. Something he just found out he was no longer allowed to do, as Bra's mate and potential heir to the throne. He had been forced to remain on the sidelines for his safety that alone made him want to kill. How come no one had warned him of this? Goten felt jealousy against General Q's freedom rise up. He wanted to be out there fighting again! He had loved his mate to sacrifice for her, true. But he had also loved his life before as well. All this sitting around and training for nothing was driving him nuts. How had Trunks ever dealt with it? He had known his Prince had stayed back in the hard battles and been only allowed to fight after all real threats had been eliminated. So now it seemed that is what they wanted for him as well. It was enough to make Goten want to cry. * I want to kill something, anything! * Goten dropped his head to the table and groaned. The others around him just looked at him, as of he had gone mad. He really didn't care. Let one of them question him. It would be enough of an excuse to pick a fight.

Bra looked to her mate. She had almost forgotten he was sitting next to her. "Goten are you alright." The first few weeks after the bonding ceremony he had been sexy and insatiable. They had basked in hours of self-involvement, secluded in their new royal quarters. Soon after they had begun to fulfill their new roles Goten had become irritated and despondent. Bra hated to admit it, but it was like the very life was being sucked out of him. Even his once dark daring eyes were losing their glimmer. She set an affectionate hand on her mate's head. The fingers where playing softly with the ebony locks. "You're not looking to well."

"Yes, dear." He said into the table with sarcasm. It seemed like that was the only thing he said any more that got her to stop pestering him.

Q laughed, his eyes roving over Bra with appreciation and lust. He had always admired the princess for her beauty and the power she represented. Looking at her attending to her mate, he could only swallow his bitterness. She was the perfect Saiyan mate, and that she had gone to Goten was like a punch in the gut. He felt a bit heavyhearted that Goten had proven himself the man for the task in the eyes of the King, while he, the supreme General of the Saiyan armies had not. Q leaned back and pondered a moment. All his life he had worked, trained, and yes as hard as it had been, he had studied. They studying had been of strategy, of war, and of fighting. He had risen himself to his position by his own hard work and merit. Unlike Goten, the great General Q slid a black look at the man, whom had everything handed to him. Goten had been gifted with everything since he was Bardock's precious grandson.

Q rolled his eyes. When would the Saiyan race stop glorying over that old crazy man? What had he done since that one half assed, lucky event? Really! How hard is it to sound a warning? Then there was his predictions and supposed wisdom. Seeing things was more like a form of dementia then gift if you asked him. Some one should just blast the old geezer and be done with it long ago. As for the Demi's from Earth, Q shrugged. Leaving them alive at all was a mistake on King Vegeta's part. At least Vegeta could have returned them all to Vegeta-sei with Kakkarot's dead body in tow. Now there was an idea! Q smiled evilly a distant look in his eyes. Hold the father, and force the sons to kill for you. There were so many things that could have been handled differently. He heard his name being bellowed from the hallway and looked up. "What."

The solider moved to stand at his side. The man leaned over and said formally. "The King has requested your presence in the throne room." Straightening the man added with a smiled. "It seems you have another illustrious mission, General Q."

Q looked impassive, but inside he had gone almost giddy. More killing, how lucky could one man get?

Goten watched the other man react. General Q jumped up and bowed to he and Bra. "I am sorry that our reunion has been cut so short, dear Princess." He merely nodded to Goten and forced a tone of false respect. "My congratulations on you Bonding, Prince Goten."

Goten caught the back handed complement and glared, while Bra looked worried and turned her gaze to her mate. The concern Goten saw there fairly mad him retch. "Is he going to be OK? Missions back to back like that?"

Goten looked back and watched Q's retreating form. "Lucky bastard…" He darted his attention to his mate quickly. "I… Err… uuhh… I meant… Unlucky fellow. I feel for him."

Bra put her hand on Goten's head testing its temperature under her gentle touch. "Are you unwell? You have been acting strangely."

Goten jerked away and moped. " I am fine, dear. I am fine."

On Earth

Gohan could not believe his ears. "So you are staying here?"

Trunks nodded curtly, his tail slipping behind him to wrap around Pan's leg. She never looked up from her plate. Choosing rather to chase her food around her plate with her fork. But the smile that crossed her face was priceless to him. He felt her tail curl back around his, and he straightened in shock. He had not expected her to flirt back, not with her parents sitting right there.

"You…" Gohan dropped his fork and pointed to the table. "Stay…" The looked of disbelief firmly on his features. "Here."

Trunks narrowed his eyes. Pan's father had asked him that question over and over again since they had explained the situation. "Yes." Trunks looked up impressing his intent. "I am staying here, with my mate."

Gohan quirked his brow, and shook his head "So you are staying on Earth....?"

Trunks shot Gohan a devilish smirk. "If it makes you fell better... I will stay here." Trunks leaned to put his arm around Pan. "In your house, in Pan's room."

Pan blushed beet red at the implication and dropped her silverware. "Trunks." She knew he would only embarrass her further of he continued. She tried to stop him, but was to late.

"I, also, can guarantee that you will know we are still in residence through out the night." Trunk informed Gohan in a low tone. "Your daughter is not exactly the most quiet of woman in the bedroom."

Videl clamped her hand over her mouth to keep from laughing.

Gohan looked shocked for a long moment before relaxing. Picking back up his fork he chuckled, "She always has taken after her mother."
