Trunks had decided to put on jeans and a gray button-down shirt to go to the club. He didn't wear a tie, just a light blue t-shirt underneath. Trunks didn't want to call any attention to himself, yet wanted to look nice for Gohan.

Trunks went into the bedroom to put on some hair gel to smooth away his flyaways, when he noticed Gohan's jeans from earlier strewn across the bed. He grabbed them to hang them up in the closet when Gohan's wallet fell out of them to the floor.

“Shit,” Trunks hoped Gohan didn't need it or would get pulled over without it and thus without his license. Trunks decided he would take it to the club for him. Trunks bent down to pick up the wallet from the floor and saw that something had fallen out of it. As Trunks reached for it, he saw that it was an old photo flap.

Trunks felt his heart quicken at the first picture he saw staring up at him. It was a picture of a little boy that had to be Gohan's little brother Goten. It was the picture that topped off the flap, the one Gohan would see every time he opened his wallet. The thought made Trunks feel horribly sad. Trunks didn't want to invade Gohan's privacy, but he had to know what the other pictures were.

Trunks flipped through and saw that the next picture was of Piccolo. It looked like someone had snuck the photo because the large green Namek was facing the other way, arms folded in front of him and eyes closed. You could only see him from the side.

Then there was another picture of Goten, but it was obvious from the jagged edges around the boy that the photo used to also contain Goku and ChiChi. Trunks bit his lip, feeling guilty that he was doing this, but compelled to continue.

Trunks flipped to the next set of photos and his heart nearly stopped. Trunks found he was looking at a picture of himself, taken many years before when he had been around for the battle against Cell. In it, Trunks was laying on his stomach on the floor, busy watching TV.

Gohan had kept this photo all of these years.

The last picture in the flap was of Gohan himself. He must have been about 11 years old, not much older than the last time Trunks had seen him. Gohan was smiling at the camera, sweet and innocent.

Trunks felt tears well in his eyes at the mere sight of it. He sat on the edge of the bed and let them fall.

“Damn this! I can't do this! I can't! I can't!!”

Trunks felt the tears fall, hot and fat down his face. He felt such despair and helplessness. No matter how many things have changed in just the little time they have been together, Trunks couldn't change what had happened so far, couldn't change what had made Gohan so cynical and self-destructive. And this was what truly hurt. It was so unfair. Trunks wished he could turn back time and take all the pain away so that Gohan's face could look as full of wonder and hope as the little boy's face in the picture.

Trunks' blinded by eyes flooded with tears, pushed the photo flap back into the wallet, but as he did so, noticed that one flap seemed to contain another picture, pressed and hidden between his and Goten's photos. Trunks pulled at the edge of it, as he tried to sniff away his tears.

Trunks pulled the photo out and felt more pain and yet, curiosity as well. Finally, Trunks had to admit to himself that he felt jealousy too, and he hated himself for it.

The photo was a picture of Gohan, not much younger than he was now, but it was definitely taken before the change. He still looked innocent. Trunks sensed how recent this photo was taken and felt as if someone had punched him in the gut. If only he had come back sooner…

Gohan was wearing a white button down shirt, a black vest over that and baggy red pants. He looked sweet and perhaps a little goofy as he grinned at the camera. There was a short girl in the photo with him. She wore her dark hair short and wispy. She had large blue eyes. The girl wore a baggy t-shirt and had on black, fingerless gloves.

Trunks immediately knew that this was Videl, the girl Gohan had been engaged to.

Trunks felt odd seeing her for the first time. She was definitely pretty, but also a tomboy. Trunks knew how attracted Gohan was to him -- it wasn't something that could be faked at this point -- and knew that Gohan was genuinely attracted to men. Perhaps, this girl, masculine in her own pretty way, Gohan's choice for his wife, was maybe the first sign that Gohan was realizing his attraction for men?

Videl looked like a nice girl and seemed really happy in the photo. Trunks felt sad for her. What must she think? How much did she know was going on in Gohan's life now? If she knew everything, how did it make her feel?

And Gohan had kept this photo. It was hidden, but still there. What did that mean?

Trunks wished he had just left it alone, had not seen any of the photos. But then, Trunks knew that he would have done it all over again.

Trunks sighed and dried his tears with his hands and stood up. He didn't care -- he had to find out whatever he could. Trunks started to rummage through Gohan's belongings.

Trunks found out that the cardboard box contained all of Gohan's promotional items such as his photos, business cards and dvd's. He wanted to burn the entire thing.

Trunks went through Gohan's duffle bag and found what looked to be a year's supply of condoms and numerous business cards strewn about the bottom of the bag, all from different men. Trunks laughed mirthlessly when he saw that practically every article of clothing Gohan owned was black. There were maybe two pairs of blue jeans, but everything else was black.

There was one thing that made Trunks' heart skip a beat. He found a key to a safety deposit box. Trunks put it back among the various socks and underwear tangled in a heap at one end of the bag.

Other than that, there was nothing. Trunks felt just as empty as the bag would without the black garments in it. It was as if Gohan had tossed his old life away. Nothing else was left over except what ever could be contained in a small safety deposit box.

Trunks practically clawed away a stray tear and stood with his hand pressed to his face.

“I can't do this!” he yelled out to the empty room. He tried to think about what it would be like to remain with Gohan as he was now. And Trunks couldn't.

It had to change. Trunks had to make it change. Or it wouldn't work. It just wouldn't.

Trunks looked at the pass to the club for that evening. He wanted to rip the thing up and flush it down the toilet. The last thing on earth he wanted to do was see that fucking strip club, see those fucking perverts paw at his Gohan. He…

Trunks needed to talk to someone -- desperately.

Trunks waited outside. He was ready to go to the club, dressed in his simple clothes, smelling nice from a dab of Grey Flannel to his neck.

Bulma walked out gingerly, not having had a very good day health wise. Her delicate blue brows were knit with worry, Trunks' voice telling her over the phone that something was very wrong. All she had to do was see him to know that her fear was confirmed.

Bulma sat next to him on the bench, underneath the apple tree in the Brief's backyard.

“What's the matter, Trunks?” She asked tenderly.

“I'm sorry.”

“Sorry? For what?”

Trunks fought tears. “I messed up.”

“How? Is there something wrong with the company?”

Trunks shook his head, unable to speak as tears flowed down his face. After a few moments, he continued, “I need help. I need someone to talk to. I didn't know who else to turn to. Please, what I'm going to say…”

Bulma grabbed his strong arms and held him still. “Trunks, calm down. You can tell me anything. I'm happy that you came to me. What's wrong?”

“I… I'm in love. With Gohan.”

Bulma blinked repeatedly, but said nothing.

Trunks, seeing the stunned silence his confession induced, simply looked down, fat tears spilling from his large blue eyes and said, “I'm sorry.”

Bulma grabbed his chin and pulled it up sharply. “No! Don't be sorry. It's ok.” She wrapped her arms around Trunks and rocked him, trying to comfort the pain he was so obviously feeling.

Trunks just cried into her blue hair, his tears falling on her shoulder. “I can't take this Mom. I can't! I want to help him and I already have, but it all hurts so much. He's so… he hates himself. I know it! And I can't seem to make him… he won't let me tell him I love him. He won't! And he won't talk about Goku or ChiChi. He made me promise never to ask him and I didn't want to lose him so I said yes and…”

“Shh, Trunks. It's ok.” Bulma rubbed his back. “Shh.”

She pulled away and wiped the tears off of his left cheek as she pushed back his hair over his ear, tucking it out of the way.

“You and Gohan, I take it, are lovers?”

Trunks nodded, more tears spilling down his face in shame.

She held his head still with her hand placed on his chin. “Are you being careful?”

Trunks shrugged recklessly. “No!”

Bulma looked concerned.

“He says he's going to be monogamous with me. That he's clean. I believe him, but I know the chance I'm taking.”

“Do you think you can trust him?”

“Yes.” He nodded, but still looked sad. “It's just, he's done so much. He's never going to be the same again. I know in this little time that I've made some strides, but he's never going to ever go back to what he was. This!”

Trunks held out the photo of Gohan with Videl.

“Where did you find this?”

“In his wallet.”

Bulma looked at him sadly, knowing that Trunks had rummaged through Gohan's things in desperation. She took the photo and smiled down at it.

“Yeah, I miss him too.” She looked at Trunks and saw him staring at the photo in her hand, his lips a tight line. “You wish he would look like that with you.”

Trunks blushed knowing that she saw the flicker of jealousy in his eyes. She put her hand on his arm and rubbed it to re-assure him.

“What's she like?”

“Videl? Well, she's tough. And a good person. She's Hercule Satan's daughter.” Trunks nodded, knowing the person Bulma spoke of.

“Yeah, I remember how he took the credit for Gohan's defeat of Cell. Wow, Gohan was going to marry her?”

“Yeah, they met in high school. They had fighting in common. And doing good deeds and all,” Bulma said, smirking. Still, she did not bring up Gohan's Saiyaman phase.

“Do… Do you think he still loves her? I mean, I don't know… He kept the photo. I know he's interested in me, says he's crazy about me, it's just…”

“You found this picture and now you have doubts?”

“I don't know what I think anymore. I don't know anything when it comes to him, because he won't tell me.”

“Trunks… look, I'm only going to say this once. If you feel that it is a lost cause, truly lost, and you feel that to stay with him that you would drag yourself down to his depth instead of helping him like you set out to do, get out. But if you love him and feel that there is hope, then stay with him, because if you are successful, you'll be very happy. I know. I speak from experience.” Bulma smirked.

Trunks looked down and thought about what she said.

“Father, he was pretty horrible in the beginning, huh? I mean, I remember what he was like, and that was bad enough, really. But at the very beginning? I can't even imagine.”

“Umm… Yep!” She laughed. “He was pretty darn evil. But I stuck with it because I, I don't know, sensed something. In him. In me. Before long, I realized I loved him and I had hope. But Trunks, they have to want it too. If Gohan doesn't want it, in the end, it won't work. You'll know either way. In your heart, you'll know.”

Trunks took the photo back and slipped it in the wallet. Bulma couldn't help but notice the picture it went behind - the one of Trunks from his visit over 8 years before.

She managed a small smile without him noticing.

* * *

Trunks sat at his table in the club for over an hour and hated every second of it. Yes, the club was nice and the dancers were quality dancers, but he felt like a fool. And, unlike most people in such a place who fear that others are watching them while they act on their needs of voyeurism, in Trunks' case, people around him were actually watching him. From the second Trunks entered the club, every eye that wasn't trained on a man stripping on stage was trained on him.

Gohan's boss, Louis, did as Gohan said he would and approached Trunks. But after what Trunks had gone through in just the last couple of hours, Trunks' despair having changed to anger, Louis' interest was a big mistake. Trunks remained civil so that the man wouldn't toss him out of his club, but Trunks was cold, as Trunks never was with anyone. The man saw the hate in Trunks eyes the second he sat down at his table and knew as soon as he broached the subject that this man, as beautiful as he was, was not for sale. And despite Trunks' civility, Louis felt the danger in him that lurked under the surface, a Saiyan's anger being a potent and palpable thing. As Louis left the table, a waiter came up and said casually, but obviously to clue Louis in, “Oh, so you're Gohan's boyfriend Trunks. He's told us so much about you!”

Louis left the table and told the waiter to give Trunks a drink on the house.

Trunks sat through a total of three dancers. He was disgusted at how some of the men in the audience hooted and said lewd things to them as they danced. The dancers seemed to take it all in stride, but Trunks still couldn't help but feel angry. Trunks dreaded Gohan's performance, dreaded seeing men grab at him as they grabbed at the dancer on stage at the moment. He dreaded hearing them speak to Gohan as if he were… and Trunks fought tears again as he realized that Gohan had been very up front about his past. Gohan had, in fact, been a whore.

Trunks couldn't remember the last time he was this angry and upset and it made him nervous when at one point he grabbed his glass to drink and he felt the glass itself tremble as if it would shatter. Trunks tried to steady himself to not lose control, but Trunks knew that his reaction to Gohan's performance wouldn't fair much better than when he had viewed that scene from Gohan's porn movie. Trunks felt his drinks sit in his stomach like poison and hoped he wouldn't be sick as he had been earlier that day.

Trunks, fighting illness, was forced to come to a decision, as he waited for the next act to take the stage. He loved Gohan. Trunks wanted to help Gohan and hoped for Gohan to return to what he was, a nice person that cared about himself and others. But no matter, Trunks wasn't going to compromise himself. Trunks was not going to pretend that this didn't bother him. And after tonight, Gohan would know it too.

The emcee came out and started working the crowd, announcing that a masked dancer was next. He made some lame announcement, said some catchy phrase that Trunks barely listened to, the jumble of worried thoughts in Trunks' head drowning everything else out. Trunks nearly missed Gohan's entrance, his thoughts so angry, sad and filled with indecision that he didn't realize what was about to happen until he heard the music begin, just as the emcee screamed, “…GOHAN!!!”

As the opening notes of Depeche Mode's “Halo” began to fill the dark room, a black clad figure sauntered out from behind the curtain. He danced lightly, taking on the intensity that built with every note of the song, until he reached the edge of the stage. Blue smoky light caught every ripple of muscle under leather and spandex. Gohan wore a dark mask over his eyes and the bridge of his nose, making the dark eyes that peered out through it seem much darker, much more intense. Gohan stood at the edge of the stage and as he moved his hips in time to the music and let his body sway to his left he made direct eye contact with Trunks, who knew immediately that Gohan had known where he was all along.

Lighting quick, Gohan twirled around, his white arms almost luminescent against the black that he wore. Gohan took his gloved hands and rubbed them along his torso as he squatted to the music, dancing for one man who practically had half his chest over the lip of the stage, arching towards Gohan in hearty interest.

“You wear guilt
Like shackles on your feet
Like a halo in reverse”

Gohan moved his right leg out behind him with little effort and tore himself away from the man teasingly, once again at center stage. He brought his strong arms up, tensing them so that each muscle stood out. Squatting, his legs splayed out at right angles on either side of him, Gohan trailed his leather clad hand down his torso, until it pressed over his crotch. Gohan stared down Trunks as he pressed into his hand suggestively.

Blue eyes, cold as ice, met black eyes, full of teasing lust.

“I can feel
The discomfort in your seat
And in your head it's worse”

Trunks did not hide his anger as he met Gohan's stare. Gohan just gave Trunks an indulgent smile as if Trunks were being difficult, as if Trunks' anger meant nothing and could easily be dealt with later on this evening. Gohan rose up again and twirled round and round, quick as a flash.

Gohan did what Trunks, after seeing three shows so far had already termed in his mind the “Toy Boy Skip.” Gohan did in fact a little skip to the edge of the stage, still managing masculinity in his Doc Martins and leather. Gohan continued to arch and thrust his body to the music, thrilling the men with his abilities as a dancer.

“There's a pain
A famine in your heart
An aching to be free”

Gohan really moved his body now, and Trunks felt his breath quicken despite himself. He had seen Gohan dance at his Birthday party, but it did not compare to this. Gohan moved his body, hitting every note of the pulsating music, better than all the dancers that had taken the stage prior to him.

Gohan jumped back as one man grabbed at his legs. Then, dramatically, he used his arms to hit each line of the lyrics, and finally brought both arms up, running fingers through his thick hair, giving all the men a glimpse of the power of his muscles, rippling and beautiful.

To the synth wave of sound, Gohan lowered himself and crawled to the foot of the stage, letting men there run their hands over his body as he arched into a tall Cobra. Gohan slipped into a kneeling position before the numerous men at the lip of the stage and arched his head and torso back. Men ran their hands over his genital area and he just let them.

“Can't you see
All love's luxuries
Are here for you and me”

Gohan jumped up effortlessly back onto his feet from the kneeling position and twirled three times in a row, so fast that it was hard to even see him clearly. He stopped in place, a greedy smile focused on the men at the foot of the stage as he brought his hands up his torso, stopping to fondle his nipples through his shirt, as they made their way up to his shirt collar.

As Gohan ripped the shirt slowly, he arched his head to the side and snuck another dark look at Trunks, smiling devilishly as the chorus of the song hit and highlighted the first article of clothing being removed.

“And when our worlds they fall apart
When the walls come tumbling in
Though we may deserve it
It will be worth it”
Lunging, he stepped quickly until he was over at the pole, twirling around it effortlessly, stopping when he faced Trunks'way once more, thrusting his hips forward into it, the suggestion clear. Barely using his hands to grasp the pole, relying mostly on the strength of his legs, Gohan climbed the pole, quickly, in time to the music, making all the men gasp and hoot appreciatively.

”Bring your chains
Your lips of tragedy
And fall into my arms”
Gohan spun his body, high up on the pole until his back faced the audience, dropping his torso backwards until he was hanging upside down and facing the audience once again. Gohan grabbed at one of the many leather strips that bit into the smooth flesh of his torso and tore it off. Gohan licked the leather strip then tossed it to the crowd below.

When the music built up in preparation for the chorus again, Gohan somersaulted from his position on the pole, landing and twirling to once again face the audience, legs in a wide stance. And sparing only one breath, timing it just right for the chorus to hit again, Gohan ripped his pants off and threw them to the back of the stage in a well practiced move.

“And when our worlds they fall apart
When the walls come tumbling in
Though we may deserve it
It will be worth it”

Gohan danced with almost abandon now, sweat fanning out from his slick body. Gohan, dramatically, straightened his legs into a wide stance and then lowered into a full split that highlighted every muscle of his legs, and showed off his pelvis to its best advantage.

A few men landed hands on him briefly, but he jumped up from the split on the floor, the power of his legs making men gasp as he stood once more on his Doc Martins.

“And when our worlds they fall apart
When the walls come tumbling in
Though we may deserve it
It will be worth it”

Trunks clearly heard him say to a couple of men that pawed at him, “Move your hands or I'll step on them.”

Gohan twirled once, twice, then stopped to face Trunks. He grabbed one side of his g-string, lowering it to give everyone just a peek at his dark pubic hair, all the while staring straight into Trunks' eyes.

With a devilish grin on Gohan's face, Gohan arched his torso back and then yanked the whole g-string right off, standing there now in just his doc-martins and the few remaining straps that cut into the skin of his torso.

“And when our worlds they fall apart
When the walls come tumbling in
Though we may deserve it
It will be worth it”

With the g-string still clasped in his hand, Gohan slid his hand down his torso and over his crotch making it look as sensuous as possible, men yelling at him every possible lewd suggestion. He playfully brought the g-string back up again and stood on the lip of the stage over one man, making as if he would lower the g-string to him clasped in his teeth. Then Gohan teasingly danced away from the man's grabbing hands and tossed the g-string onto Trunks' table.

“And when our worlds they fall apart
When the walls come tumbling in
Though we may deserve it
It will be worth it”

Gohan finished out the song, dancing completely nude as he was, letting men touch his legs every now and then. At one point he kicked his leg up high on the pole, holding himself in place by one strong hand, lowering his torso, arching it all the way back until his thick hair brushed the floor. Men went crazy on the other side of the stage. One man actually tossed a drink onto Gohan's body and immediately had two bouncers on him. Gohan didn't even seem phased, doing nothing to acknowledge it.

As the music trailed to the end of the song, Gohan rubbed his hands on his sweaty torso and sprayed the sweat from his hands with a quick flick at the men in the audience. They all seemed to love it.

Gohan walked off boldly, at a quick pace, but not before shooting Trunks one last look as he left the stage.

* * *

As men hooted and applauded, Trunks sat, stunned, staring at the g-string on his table. He didn't dare move because he knew that if he did so now, he would shake uncontrollably.

Trunks felt hot for Gohan at the same time that he wanted to scream at every man in the room, hatred for the way they had treated Gohan as if he were a piece of meat.

Gohan had looked deadly, dark and beautiful. And he belonged to Trunks. But did he really?

Trunks glared at a few of the men that had touched Gohan at the edge of the stage. There was an assortment of men, some older, some younger, some handsome, some not good looking at all. As Trunks looked at these men, to his dismay, he saw a few of them staring back at him in interest. Two men talked to each other as they looked at him and then smirked lasciviously in his direction.

It was obvious that as Gohan had danced, he had singled Trunks out and many in the room guessed, correctly, that he was Gohan's lover.

One man was even so bold as to buy him a drink. The waiter barely put the drink down before the man was sitting at Trunks' table across from him. Trunks stared at the man in stunned silence.

“Hi, my name's Greg.”

Trunks tried to stare him away, his eyes turning to flint.

“You're not going to say “hello?'”

“Hello.” Trunks said, his voice angry.

The man chuckled. “Your boyfriend is really amazing. It must be fucking unreal to fuck him.”

Trunks just stared at the man, his look turning murderous. The man wasn't phased.

“Tell you what, Babe.” The guy threw a 100 Zeni bill on the table. “I'll give you that just to watch the two of you make-out.” And then he threw down five more 100 Zeni's on the table. “And that's to watch you go down on each other.”

Trunks felt the spit in his mouth dry completely.

The guy leaned in so only Trunks could hear him. “I've got several thousand on me. If you and your boyfriend fuck me tonight, it's all yours.”

It took everything in Trunks not to spit what little spittle there was left in his mouth square in the man's face.

“Sorry, you've got me all wrong.”

“Oh? Really? Wow, that's a surprise. Maybe you, but I bet for the right price, I've got your boyfriend for the night.” The guy stopped to look at Trunks' body as if it were there for perusal. “And as delectable as you are, I'm sure he'd not pass up a chance to earn a little cash, even if it means leaving you to your own devices for the night.” The man leaned in again, and Trunks knew that he'd never forget his face, or ever stop hating it, as the man smirked at him. “Or, you can just join in on the fun. What do you say?”

“I say, go fuck yourself.”

The man finally looked pissed off at that. He stared down Trunks for a bit, then gathered up his Zeni bills.

Trunks didn't care. He had to leave. Trunks motioned for his check and settling it with cash, more than was necessary just to get out of there, he rose to leave. Trunks tried to control himself as he walked away, the urge to run from the place maddening.
