Trunks looked at Gohan as he slept in his bed, the covers wrapped around him like a protective cocoon. Trunks wanted
to kiss Gohan goodbye before he had to leave for work, but didn't want to disturb probably the first bit of peace Gohan
seemed to be having in the last 48 hours. Trunks stood over him as he fixed his tie.

Gohan's face, still stained with what seemed an endless amount of tears from the previous evening, finally looked calm
and at rest.

Trunks thought back to the night before and if he had thought that the first night of having Gohan all to his own would
be romantic, full of making love, well, he had been severely disappointed.

Gohan had been nearly incoherent, his crying intensifying after his brother had left, as if the anchor that had been
keeping him sane was gone. Alone with Trunks in Trunks' apartment, it was almost clear to Trunks that Gohan didn't
want to be there. He cried endlessly as Trunks removed his wet clothing. Trunks tried to soothe away his tears with
kisses, but Gohan would just go still, as if Trunks' kisses burned him.

Trunks would have lost his temper yet again, but then he noticed how Gohan clung to him with his arms, his hands digging
into Trunks' shirt. Trunks took a good look at Gohan's face then, and saw the desperation on his sweet features. Trunks
wrapped his arms around Gohan then, and just let the man cry in his embrace. It was not long after that that Trunks
dragged the man off to bed, tucking him in. Trunks climbed in a little after that, hoping to wrap his arms around Gohan,
but Gohan was fast asleep, wound round by blankets, making contact impossible.

Trunks, feeling nervous about leaving him alone, not wanting to let Gohan out of his sight, had fought the urge to call
in sick again. But Trunks was equally afraid of Gohan pushing him away or being distant, so he thought maybe Gohan
having some time to think on his own might be a good idea.

Trunks gave Gohan one last wistful look as he left the room.

Trunks had been in a meeting for the past hour when a call came in on the conference phone. He excused himself to see
what it was as an Ad Hoc group of Capsule Corp Board Members continued to discuss the issues at hand.

He picked up the phone, hearing the tension in the receptionist's voice immediately. "Mr. Briefs, I'm sorry, but she.."

Trunks spun around when he heard the conference room door opened so forcefully that it slammed against the wall. He was
shocked to see Videl, a look of pure hatred on her face.

She walked up to him, and even though he was a half-Saiyan and she was a mere human, he felt panic in his heart at the
look on her face. He could hear the dead silence of the Board Members behind him as they stared at him to see what he
would do in answer to such an intrusion.

Videl, only a little shorter than Trunks, didn't have the same trouble as she had the night before as she reached up to
him and slapped him across his face. She hit him so hard, that he didn't realize he had still been holding the phone
to his ear uselessly until his face smacked hard into it from the force of her blow.

"You scumbag! You lying, cheating filth!" Videl snarled the words at him. "Pretty little rich boy just has to have
everything he wants, no matter what it costs others! Well, I'm a pretty little rich girl and I'm going to fight for
my husband. So FUCK YOU!"

He stood there stunned, looking at her, not even angry because he was that shocked.

She turned to the Board Members of Capsule Corp. "I hope you all know what a cheating, back-stabbing man you are
investing your money in here, who is not above stealing a woman's husband of 10 years." At the looks of shock on
their faces, she nodded, "Yes, he did that. Or at least he thinks that." She turned on Trunks again. "Well, I'm
not going down without a fight. YOU HEAR ME TRUNKS! IT'S NOT GOING TO BE SO EASY. YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT ME FOR HIM!!!"
Then her voice broke. Tears fell from her eyes drenching her face. She put her hand up to her mouth and ran out of
the room, never looking back.

Trunks just stood there in silence until one Board Member finally coughed in embarrassment.

* * *

Videl didn't care who saw her, she leaped into the air and flew as fast as she could to Trunks' home, hoping to see Gohan.

She felt tears whipping off her face from the force of the air she flew through. She made up her mind early this morning,
remembering how sad and helpless her husband had been. She hadn't seen before her a man who had merely been cheating
on her, or even a man that was tired with her and just wanted to leave.

No. He was torn inside out by this decision. He was truly despondent because their marriage was ending.

And that gave her hope.

She increased her speed.

She wasn't going to let Trunks win so easily. If she was destined to lose Gohan anyway, she will have at least tried.

She had reacted out of anger and pain the night before, and yes, she was still angry and still hurt, but she had looked
all around her at so many reminders of so many years together and it just was too unreal. It just couldn't end like this.
It didn't make sense. Not after one lousy week with no real warning. She hadn't even had time to savor the final
moments...

A sob was wrenched from Videl, almost causing her to fall, the pain inside her so great.

She thought of Gohan's smiling face, smiling AT HER, and that kept her going.

No, Trunks may win in the end, but she was going to make sure that she gave everything she had in this. It was who she was.
She had never given up on anything that had meant something to her before. She wasn't going to start now with something
so important.

* * *

Gohan stood in the shower, feeling like a hollow shell of himself. He smelled Trunks all around him and it only caused him
pain.

He felt so wrong.

He loved Trunks, he knew that, but this just wasn't right. It didn't feel right.

He didn't feel right.

And he didn't know what he was going to do about it.

If he couldn't feel right about such a thing, then how was it ever going to work?

He decided that if he couldn't be with either Trunks or Videl, then he'd rather be alone. He just didn't have the
strength anymore to deal with these feelings.

He wasn't going to take his life, no. All he had to do was think of Pan and how selfish an act like that would be.

No.

He was going to see Piccolo, and offer his services up to spirituality. He would work for Dende and Mr. Popo, he would
become a monk, anything so that he could think of something other than the taste of Trunks lips and the feel of his skin.

And then he stopped himself from thinking, knowing how cruel that would be to both Videl and Trunks, Videl for having her
marriage taken away from her without reason and Trunks because Trunks loved him and only wanted to be with him.

Gohan pounded his fist into the tiles of Trunks' shower, without force, though, not wanting to damage anything. He felt
so helpless at the jangle of emotions flooding his mind and heart.

Then a thought, that spoke about the guilt he lived with, floated to his mind.

If he had known, what he knew now, if he had known Trunks this way, had an opportunity to do that, before he ever met
Videl, would he have ever married her?

Sure, Trunks had been too young then, but...

If for instance, Gohan and Videl had waited to marry, until he had his Ph. D. let's say...

He stood there silently, suds in his hair, searching his heart.

No, he would never have looked twice at Videl.

He threw himself out of the shower and went straight to the phone, dripping and naked, soapsuds running down his back.
He picked up the phone and dialed.

"Trunks?" Gohan asked sounding desperate, when Trunks picked up his private line.

He could hear what sounded like fear and confusion in Trunks voice as he answered. "Gohan? What's wrong?"

"I... I just wanted to hear the sound of your voice."

And with that, Trunks felt tears of relief sting his eyes. "Gohan, Videl was just here."

"What?!" Gohan asked in alarm.

"She made a scene, Gohan. I think she's headed to the apartment. She should be there soon."

Gohan felt himself trembling.

Trunks spoke to Gohan with feeling, "Gohan, I love you. Please remember that. Please remember how I love you no matter
what she says. I love you, with all my heart. Please?" He could hear Trunks crying.

Gohan nodded, even though Trunks couldn't see him. "Yes, I will remember Trunks. I love you too. I love you."

He hung up, and heard the doorbell. He didn't even put on clothes; he just answered the door as he was.

Videl stared at his nudity in shock, and then she saw the look of sadness in his eyes. Sadness for her.

It truly was over.

She looked down, crying. "I just had to be sure."

"I'm sorry Videl. I never wanted to hurt you. I do love you..."

"No, please. Please don't say that. It hurts too much."

She turned from him, but continued. "I will not stop you from seeing Pan, but I think it best she stay with me for now."

He nodded, again, not realizing she couldn't see him. "I know. Thank you."

The "Thank You," was the worst for her. It was cordial. It was impersonal.

"I should call her tonight and talk to her." He said cautiously.

Videl nodded. "I'll explain to her beforehand, so that you can talk to her." Not knowing what else to say, she walked
away towards the building's elevator.

Gohan watched her, just wanting this pain to all disappear. But he knew that the pain would linger for a long time to come.

He entered the apartment again, feeling unsure of what to do with himself next. He looked at the phone and called Trunks.

The voicemail came on and he knew that Trunks was on his way home to be with him. The thought comforted him so he sat on
the couch, the cool apartment air-drying him. He pushed his wet hair back with his hands, and waited.

* * *

Trunks, lying on top of Gohan on the floor, moved Gohan's hair aside from his eyes with a loving finger. He leaned down
and gave Gohan a sweet kiss.

Trunks had rushed home and ran up to his apartment, trying to fit the key into the door, but Gohan opened the door before
he could. Trunks stared at Gohan, who had never dressed, and noticed immediately the change in Gohan's eyes.

Gohan didn't doubt this anymore.

Trunks rushed into his arms, kissing the man hungrily. Gohan helped him out of his clothes and then they just knelt down,
right in front of the apartment door, making love frantically at first. But then they realized that nothing had to be
grabbed at any longer. These were no longer stolen moments.

They made love for the rest of the afternoon, nothing rushed, just taking their time, taking many breaks just to hold
each other close.

The pain was beginning to seep out of Gohan's eyes. He was still sad and hurt, but Trunks began to feel love directed
at him fully, without guilt, for the first time that they were together. It filled him with such joy, which he expressed
in the actions of his body.

Gohan moaned continuously throughout their lovemaking, and it felt wonderful as these sounds vibrated all throughout his
body. He held Trunks tightly now, his strong hand running through the thick, straight locks of his hair. Their legs
entwined, there wasn't a part of their bodies that touched the other that didn't turn the touch into a caress. Every
breath was an expression of their great feeling.

Trunks moved so that he could lie next to Gohan instead, and Gohan grabbed him close, nuzzling his face in the space
between Trunks face and shoulder.

Trunks stared at their hands entwined together and could feel how truly lucky he was to have Gohan here with him, coming
so close to losing him several times throughout the week. He didn't want to leave this spot even though the phone had
rung numerous times, no doubt Bulma calling to get an explanation of what had happened today.

Trunks thought he might want to take a leave of absence so that the damage would be contained as much as possible. He
recalled the look on several of the Board Members faces after Videl left and it was clear, that yes, they would hold
his personal life against the corporation. They recalled Gohan's meeting with them earlier in the week and no doubt,
after putting two and two together when they figured out who Videl was, they would have ideas about that encounter as well.
With all the pain being shelled out by all of this, he didn't want to hurt Bulma or his family by hurting the corporation
with his actions.

With these thoughts in mind, as he playfully stroked the line between Gohan's pecs, "How about the two of us go away for
awhile?" Trunks asked Gohan.

Gohan stayed silent for a moment, Trunks holding his breath in response.

Gohan leaned on his arm, chin propped up in the palm of his hand, to respond. "I think it would really damage things for
me at the University, but right now, my heart's not in it anyway, so..."

Trunks looked at him hopefully.

"All right. Yeah, it might be a good idea." Gohan smiled at him sadly. "I guess we've made a real mess of things, huh?"

Trunks smiled at him. At least he knew that the blame game was ending between the two of them.

"I don't care anymore Gohan. I just want to be with you."

"I know what you mean Trunks. I feel the same."

Gohan suddenly looked tired. He had just exerted himself in hours of physical energy, but that was not what was tiring
him out and Trunks knew it.

Trunks sat up. Gohan stared at the golden, silky skin of his lover's body as he did so. "I can get us a flight today.
Sleep on the plane, Ok?"

Gohan nodded. "I'm already packed." Then he laughed.

Trunks laughed too. Then he smiled at Gohan.

Gohan became serious, "I've just got to call Pan before I leave. I've already arranged it with Videl." He looked sad
at the realization that anything he did with Pan now needed some kind of approval from Videl.

Seeing the look on Gohan's face, Trunks said, "It will get better with time Gohan. I promise you."

Gohan smiled at Trunks and reached up a hand to run his finger against Trunks' soft lips.

"I know, Trunks. I love you."

"I love you, Gohan."

Trunks leaned down and they embraced, holding each other before Trunks made the plane and hotel reservations for later
that night.

* * *

They went away, planning to be away for just two weeks, but then decided to stay on their island paradise for a few
months longer. Months turned into a year. Bulma wrote to them occasionally. ChiChi finally started speaking to
Gohan on the phone again.

Within a year's time, once both men returned home, most people had already forgiven them for all the pain that they had
caused. Even Videl, who was making an effort to move on - she worked on her father's numerous financial interests and
had been seeing a business partner for dinners and drinks occasionally.

Forgiveness came easy when it became so clear how strongly these two men felt for each other. Their love was timeless,
boundless and meant to be. They breathed each other in, always linked physically either through hands clasped, legs
touching as they sat together or eyes watching the other as one of them crossed the room. These men loved each other
and would forever.

Videl had been right. Time does heal all wounds.

Trunks and Gohan, after a year together and Gohan's divorce having been finalized, had a civil ceremony with most of
their friends and family in attendance. Although it was difficult for Pan, she managed to attend as well and be a
part of her father's special day. Her presence at the ceremony meant a great deal to Gohan.

Gohan and Trunks now lived together as a married couple for over two years and were even considering adoption. Trunks
wanted to improve things between him and Pan and he desperately wanted a child that would be their own as well, hoping
that maybe then Pan would see how much love he had to give. Gohan assured him that she would in time, whether they
adopted or not. Still, Trunks hoped he could be more a part of her life too. But there was time.

They had all the time in the world -- because they had each other.

The End.
