Revolution of the Saiyans

Chapter Thirteen

General Kelon struggled to close the door as the firing began. He felt a large slice of flesh being ripped from his leg and shouted to his men.

"Get this ship in the air!" he commanded.

Everyone scrambled, but Vegeta. "I will not be turned away from my people!" He screamed. "Open these doors and I'll blast anyone who dares to doubt me!"

Kelon looked at Niekko cautiously before speaking. "Sir, there are almost two thousand Saiyans on this planet! How can you possibly be prepared to defend yourself against such an onslaught?"

Vegeta glared at Kelon. "Someone on this ship gave away our position." He snarled. "And I'll be damned if I run away now!" Vegeta reached up and pushed the button, which opened the door once again.

As the guns were fired, Vegeta easily deflected the attack. Having no other choice but to join their king, the elite soldiers followed suit. All except Perrin who had conveniently disappeared unnoticed for the moment.

There appeared to be approximately three hundred soldiers out front. When it was apparent that the laser guns were ineffective, they began firing ki blasts. Angered beyond comprehension, Vegeta screamed out, instantly transforming into Super Saiyan.

For a moment, there was an astonishing hush among the revolting soldiers. Even Drais was in awe. Then he laughed. "You think such a display will guarantee you the throne? You are no Prince, much less a King! I will not let this plot to overthrow my government be successful!" He looked around at his men. "KILL THEM ALL!"

Upon his command, the soldiers attacked, taking to the sky and sending blasts. With the adrenaline raging through Vegeta's veins, he killed soldier after soldier. Vegeta had an enormous amount of fighting experience and used each morsel of knowledge, blasting them into dust. Kelon and the remaining Elite soldiers were also fairing well, their fighting abilities having ranked them the best.

It wasn't until the ship itself exploded that a moment of calm surfaced. Drais knew he had lost more than a few men. He never dreamed Vegeta's power would be so enormous. Was he a Super Saiyan? Had the legend been realized in the true Saiyan Prince? Putting his questions aside, he continued to fight. Bringing in an array of over one hundred more soldiers, it was evident that victory was close at hand.

Kelon, barely able to move due to his sever leg wound, continued to fight. He was an Elite Soldier and would die to save his King. By his side were Niekko and Arello, both veteran Saiyan warriors having survived Frieza. However, Domia had less skill as a fighter, but was holding his own. He was his father's son, a strong and determined fighter.

But, where was Perrin? Had he been killed? Kelon took just a moment to glance around, but did not see his comrade. Could Perrin have run? Like a coward? Or was he the Judas who betrayed them?

Having no more time to ponder, General Kelon continued fighting, until he could take the blasts no more. He was about to relinquish his life, when Niekko flew to his aid. "Not like this, Sir." Niekko shouted. He put a massive arm around his Commander and pulled him close. Hovering in the air, Niekko fought for the both of them.

Vegeta had tolerated as much as he would. "IT'S TIME YOU REALIZED THE POWER OF A TRUE KING!" He shouted. Gathering some energy, he formed a large ki ball in front of him. "FINAL BLAST!" Vegeta released the ball and watched as it spread out for hundreds of yards and began to slowly engulf the warriors below.

Screams could be heard and last attempts were made to get away, but when the smoke cleared, the majority of the few hundred Saiyan warriors were dead. Vegeta breathed heavily, but had enough power to maintain his Super Saiyan form.

Standing back, Niekko threw the General over his shoulder, Kelon having passed out from the pain. Off in the distance, Arello and Domia were astonished at the King's power, and prayed that they would be spared due to their loyalty.

Down below, the remaining fighters threw themselves to the ground, bowing in subjection. Vegeta watched cautiously for a moment, then a smirk crossed his face. Carefully, he lowered himself to the ground, followed by his faithful warriors. One by one, Niekko, with the injured Kelon, Arello and Domia landed beside the new King.

"Sir, what should be done with the survivors?" Niekko asked. He knew, in the event of Kelon's death or inability to be Commander, he was second in charge. At least he had been. Who knows what this new King will do.

Vegeta snarled at the sight in front of him. "Make sure Drais is dead." He said coldly. "Once that is done, I will decide on the fate of these worthless and deceitful warriors." Vegeta strode past several dead and badly injured bodies and walked toward the main entranceway. "Show me to the appropriate quarters!" He shouted.

Arello stepped forward. "Yes, my Lord." He bowed slightly. Following behind the much taller fighter, Vegeta sneered at the people who lined his path, hoping to get a glimpse of the new King. The man who had just defeated an entire Saiyan army, almost single-handedly. Each person, male, female, and child bowed to him.

Vegeta although covered in some soot and dirt was uninjured. He held his Super Saiyan form for the entire time, wanting everyone to know and feel his true power. He was King.

Bulma and Trunks sat and watched as the strange energy levels on the planet soared then lowered back to normal.

"What do you suppose your father is up to?" Bulma asked her teenage son.

"Like I said, I'm betting dad powered up to show off." Trunks smiled. "I guess I should have gone with him so I could have gone Super too."

Bulma glanced at her young son, realizing, yet again, that in so many ways he was like his father. That slight air of arrogance was there, but not nearly as bad as Vegeta. "Well, how about we plan a trip for day after tomorrow." Bulma suggested. "That will give me time to prepare a ship and pack."

"Plus give dad a chance to cool down." Trunks snickered. "He was none too happy when he left."

Bulma nodded. "Well, he can't just drop a bomb like that on us and expect everyone to jump!" Bulma was still angered at Vegeta's attitude. "Besides, it might do him a little good to miss us some!"

Trunks got up and headed for the door. "Well, you can tell Bra. I'm sure she'll be excited just for the adventure of going into space." He could imagine the expression on Bra's face. It would be priceless. "On second thought, I'll tell her." He smiled.
