Revolution of the Saiyans

Chapter Twenty

Bra lay across the bed with Marron. Both girls were angry that Krillin, Marron's father was refusing to let her go on the trip to the new Saiyan planet.

"It just isn't fair." The blond haired girl said. "I mean, both Daddy and Mom said no. Usually, I can convince at least one of them!"

"I'm sure mom would let them go, if they wanted." Bra said. "The ship is huge!"

"Daddy said he doesn't trust Saiyans." Marron replied. "Too many bad experiences."

Bra snarled. "He just doesn't trust my dad!"

Marron agreed. "I guess not."

"So, now what?" Bra said. "Trunks and Goten are going! You'll be left here alone!"

Marron sighed. "I'll miss you guys." She had tears welling up in her eyes, yet again.

"We'll find a way!" Bra said stubbornly. "We could always sneak you on board!"

Marron shook her head. "They'll be expecting that."

"Well, I'm sure Trunks will find a way for you to go." Bra smiled mischievously. "I know he won't just go without you."

Marron blushed. "Stop it." She said. "You make it sound as if he thinks about me."

Bra smiled. "Maybe he does. I see the way he looks at you. And I know how you look at him!"

Marron turned crimson. "Stop it!" She smacked Bra on the shoulder. "It just makes it hurt worse!"

Bra signed. "I know." She said. "Goten doesn't know I'm alive either."

They sat there for the next while, quietly.

Downstairs, Trunks continued to help pack the ship. Goten and Gohan were there as well, while Goku, Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha had left in search of the Dragonballs. "With the radar, finding the other four shouldn't take but maybe a day." Gohan pointed out.

"Then, we should be able to leave tomorrow." Trunks replied. "Only if mom gets all the coordinates."

"Where is Bulma?" Gohan asked. "She's usually out here directing us!"

Trunks shook his head. She's in her room. Since my dad's been gone, she stays in there a lot. I think she misses him."

"I'm sure Vegeta will be glad to see all of you." Goten said. "He may be the most stubborn and bullheaded man I've ever seen, but he has a soft spot."

Gohan laughed. "He does? Where? In his head?"

Trunks and Goten laughed as they shoved Gohan over a box and down on his behind. "Wanna spar, huh?" Gohan said, jumping to his feet. "I'll take you both on!"

Without further warning, they all three leapt into the sky and began to fight. Trunks and Goten against Gohan.

Off in the distance, Piccolo stood silently, watching. He smirked as he watched Gohan easily whipping both of the younger Saiyans. Not that Trunks and Goten were weak, but Gohan was a seasoned fighter. He had fought in real battles, honing his skills at an early age. Frieza, the Androids, Cell. All of them, and each fight in between had made Gohan one of the greatest, if not the greatest fighter on Earth.

Piccolo smiled slightly, knowing he was the one who instilled Gohan's first and most important fighting lessons. "Never give up the fight." Piccolo said to himself.

"Sir, one of our engines is damaged, as well as our radar." Domia said. "The impact of the explosion was too great."

General Kelon was devastated. "The planet is gone?"

Domia nodded. "For the most part." He said. "I doubt anyone could have survived it. The very core of the planet seems to be burning. It is only a matter of time before it disintegrates completely."

"Should we go back for survivors?" Niekko asked, but he already knew the answer.

"The chance that anyone lived is slim to none." Domia said. "I'm sorry, sir. We can go back if you'd like."

Both Niekko and Kelon shook their heads. "No." Kelon decided. "Right now, we need to keep a lock on Drais' ship."

Vegeta remained silent. He felt such anger and pain, he was afraid he might explode himself. Only hours after claiming his rightful place among his Saiyan people, yet again, his people and his planet was destroyed. Silently, he left the control room and went to his private quarters.

"Our King is hurting for his people." Arello said. "I can see it in his eyes."

"As are we all." Niekko said. "For the second time in our lives, we have been spared total annihilation. Why? What purpose is ahead of us that is so great?"

"Drais." General Kelon said.

"Sir, I believe Drais is headed for Earth." Domia said. "Unless he changes course. Without our radar or communications capabilities, it is hard to know for sure."

Kelon nodded. "Do the best you can, son."

Domia nodded.

After a while, Petra and another servant brought in refreshments to the soldiers. "Should we take anything to the King?" Petra asked.

Kelon shook his head. "If our King needs anything, I'm sure he'll ask."

Petra served everyone quickly, taking an extra moment with Niekko as she often did, giving him a fond smile. He quickly returned her smile with nod and a brief touch of her hand. As Petra left the control room, Arello couldn't help but smile at his friend.

"She's young enough to be your daughter…" He said smiling.

Niekko frowned. "My personal affairs are none of your concern." He said firmly.

But, Arello already knew more than he needed to. "Now that Drais is out of the picture, and our new King has overturned the guidelines pertaining to the slaves, Petra is virtually a free woman."

"And your point is?" Niekko asked.

"You can take her as your mate, you old fool! No sense in wasting time now!" Arello told him.

Niekko did not answer him, but continued to sip on his refreshment.

Everyone glanced around the room, but no one dared to say a word, although most were smiling.

Standing at the large window of his bedroom, Drais awaited the next part of his plan to begin. As he watched the planets and stars that passed, a message was being sent to Earth.

He smiled, knowing that the ship carrying Vegeta was slower. It would be several hours behind his own, giving plenty of time for the destruction of Earth. But, Drais wouldn't stop there. No, three lives were going to be spared from that miserable planet if at all possible.

The lives of Vegeta's family. For Drais has specific plans for them. Something to ensure that Vegeta would never bother him again.
