Chapter 5

The next day didn't go by quick enough in Chi chi's opinion. She got home from school and spent the next few hours stressing over what to wear. At seven o clock sharp the door bell to the Ox apartment rang. "I'll get it!" Chi chi shouted rushing for the door. She looked herself over in the mirror one last time before pushing the buzzer to let Goku into the building. She had finally decided on a blue turtle neck sweater and her black lace up pants. She had her hair curled in to small ringlets and it was all tied back into a ponytail. She wore just a little bit of makeup to accent her eyes and lips.

She had so many butterflies in her stomach she felt like she would just float away when he knocked on the door. She opened it and when she saw him her mouth went dry. He was dressed in a light blue collared button down shirt and black slacks. His muscles were so accented by the oultfit that she swore he was a god in disguise. He held out to her a single rose and gifted her with a grogeous smile. "Hi." He whispered. She looked at the rose then back up at him. "This is for you."

She took it from him with trembling hands and smiled bashfully. "Thank you." He put his hand out for her to take and said, "Shall we go?" She nodded, but before she could take his hand her father appeared behind her. "Chi chi, aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?" Chi chi spun around in surprise. "Oh, dad it's you." She said nervously. "Goku," She said leading him into the apartment. "This is my father." She motioned to the large man that looked as if he could lift mac trucks with one arm.

Inside Goku's heart was pounding, but he kept his cool. He smiled and offered his hand for a shake. "Pleased to meet you Mr. Ox." He said.

"The pleasure's all mine. Now I just want to say that this is Chi chi's first date and I want you to treat her with respect." Chi chi hid her eyes behind a hand as she shook her head in embarassment.

Goku just kept smiling. "Don't worry this is my first date as well."

Chi chi's eyes popped out at his statement and she just stared at him. Mr. Ox smiled and chuckled. "Well then you two have fun." He hugged a still stunned Chi chi and said, "Be home by midnight."

"Yes daddy." She nodded and followed Goku out the door. When they made it out to the street she was still thinking about what Goku had said, but was stopped short when she saw his ride. It was a red T bird. She gasped when she saw it. Goku laughed at her reaction. "You like it?" He asked.

"Yeah!" She said touching the hood to make sure it was real. "My dad gave it to me for my sixteenth birthday. He said not to expect another present from him till graduation." She smiled at his words.

He opened the door for her and she slid in. He got in and they drove down the street out of the working class bureau into the commercial district. When they reached the restaurant and were seated Chi chi started the conversation. "So you told my dad you'd never had a date before..." She said glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.

"It's true. You're my first." He said honestly.

"No way." She said. He just nodded thouroughly to show he meant it. "Really? But you could have any girl you wanted in the whole school. I don't understand."

"You're right. I could have any girl I wanted, but I only like you." He smiled at her. She blushed and averted her eyes. He reached out to grab her hand. She slowly turned her eyes to his and they just stared into one another's eyes for a few moments Chi chi was mesmerized by his smile and Goku could have stared into her eyes forever. Goku was the first to look away this time. He was nervous now because he thought he might actually be falling for her.

They had pleasant conversation throughout dinner, but every time their eyes met. It was so intense one of them would look away. After dinner they went for a walk in one of West City's many parks. Goku got up the courage to actually hold her hand while they walked and she didn't push him away.

"Why are you such a jock? Do you just love sports or something?" Chi chi asked.

"Well I like some sports, but I do it more for my dad and my brother." Goku replied as he stopped to stare at the sky longingly.

Chi chi watched his face as he stared at the sky he seemed very sad. "I don't understand."

Goku looked back at her and when he saw the confusion on her face he tried to ease it with a smile. "See my dad was an allstar jock in highschool and so was my older brother, so it's kind of expected of me."

"They don't really make you do things you don't want to do they?" She asked feeling very sympathetic.

"No they're just trying too hard to help me."

"Help you how?"

"Well they want me to have a way to go to college and ever since mom died they've thrown themselves into taking care of me and my life." He paused and closed his eyes remembering the awful day his mother died. "Only problem is," He continued. "I don't need them telling me what to do."

"I can imagine so." They were silent for a moment before Chi chi captured his gaze with her own. Goku was in awe of the sympathy and sadness he saw in her dark depths. "Goku I'm sorry about your mother. Truth is I also lost my mother." Chi chi turned away the pain too much for her to bear. "I know what it's like, I know how you feel I...." She was cut off by him spinning her around into a kiss. His kiss was gentle, but at the same time passionate. It was as if he were burning their souls together with one kiss. Chi chi held on to him for dear life as she kissed him back desperate to show him he wasn't alone.

Feeling her warm body against his and knowing that she understood him as no one else could he wished that he could have her. He wanted to feel her warm body coupling with his in the timeless dance of lovers he wanted to show her his adoration for her and yet he didn't want to scare her away.

Chi chi felt much the same way. She had learned a lot about the man in her arms in the last three hours and she wanted to just kiss away all his pain, all his stress, make him feel loved and cherished. She was willing to give him anything to ease him even her virginity. She pressed her hips against his and she could feel his erection against her opening. She moaned in longing and moved her hands down his sides until she came to the apex of his hips and she cupped his erection in her hands. He groaned in bliss and pulled back from their heated embrace to breathe and held her an arm's length away. "No, no, I don't want to use you like this."

Chi chi stared at him confused. He had turned down her blatant groping and want to have sex with him. She didn't understand his reasoning. "What do you mean?" She asked.

Goku took a deep breath to calm his lustful needs and pulled her back into his arms gently brushing her hair with his hands. "I just don't think it's time yet." He whispered. He looked down into her ebony pools. "It's not that I don't want you Chi chi. You can feel for yourself I do, but I respect you more than to have sex on the first date."

It all made sense now. Chi chi's nervous tension at possibly being rejected was soothed and she relaxed into his arms. She could hear his rapid heart beat in his chest relax as well as she leaned against his chest. Her heart melted to think that Goku was so sweet as to not want to take advantage of their first date. She sighed lovingly and a small voice in her head whispered. 'He's the one.'

Goku took her home and before she got out of the car she leaned over and kissed him chastely on the cheek. "What now?" She asked quietly staring into his eyes.

Goku knew he should tell her he couldn't see her again. They were part of two different worlds, but they were so alike he couldn't bear not speaking to her anymore. "Tomorrow before practice under the bleachers. I'll meet you there and we can discuss our next date." He smiled teasingly as he twisted a loose strand of her hair around his finger. She smiled and nodded. She got out of the car and leaned on the door. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."

As Goku drove away Chi chi walked dreamily up to her apartment. She wanted to tell someone about her wonderful night with Goku, but she knew that if anyone knew that they were planning a second date then all hell would break loose. She knew that they would have to keep their relationship quiet if they didn't want trouble from the other 'cliques'. True he had more to loose than her, but she respected him.

As she drifted off too sleep that night she dreamt of Goku's kiss.
