Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Sacrificing Love ❯ Chapter 13 ( Chapter 13 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Disclaimer: Legally, Dragonball Z is not mine. But it's a whole different story altogether in my head…

Author's Note: Okay, here's the lastest chapter of Sacrificing Love. It's almost the end…at least to this part. This is only Part One of my story, so when it's over, the whole story wil not be over. No, of course not…it's only the beginning!

Um…yeah. For those of you that read my other story, Never Alone, I want to apologize for the lack of chapters. I've been having trouble trying to pull all of the events and details together, and it seems to be working all wrong. I don't know when I'll complete it, so please…just bear with me.

Anyway, enough of my incessant jabbering…I'll get on with the story.

Sacrificing Love

Chapter Thirteen: The Start

"Ready, you guys. Here they come."

The Saiyans prepared themselves for battle, as Frieza's men rushed at them. The blockade seemed effective. The tyrant's men were being pummled with their attacks, each one unable to break through to the palace. But the fact was that they just kept coming and coming, like roaches in a filthy kitchen. However, the Saiyan warriors knew that that was only the tip of the iceberg.

Kakarrot stood next to his father's best friend, Letti, sending ki blasts at the oncoming men, dodging some as well. He winced as he found himself in the path of a ki attack, knowing that he wasn't fast enough to avoid it. The energy painlessly struck him as Kakarrot remembered Bulma's device. He smiled to himself. `How could I've forgotten about them so quickly?' Kakarrot wondered to himself. His smile turned into a frown. `I need to be careful though. Just because we have these, doesn't mean we're invincible.' Another ki blast fired at him made his lip curl again. `But we're damn near close.'

Inside the palace, the albino lizard smiled to himself. `The little diversion worked. Those stupid idiots.' He found the halls empty, but wasn't surprised, nor was he interested in why the supposedly strongest and bravest race in the entire universe decided to run from him like cowards at this critical moment. No, all he was interested right now was wringing the neck of the scientist woman, then laying this planet into a pile of dust.

He passed the throne room and thought for a moment. "Might as well enter and have myself a little bit of fun…" He lifted his hand and effortlessly blew the heavy wooden doors off their hinges. "Good evening, King Vegeta," he cooed, reveling in the shock that displayed on the king's face as he entered the room. His ruby eyes narrowed. "I suppose I have you to thank for the welcoming committee."

"Frieza, your treachery has come to an end," King Vegeta said, controling the wave of surprise that he had experienced upon seeing him in the palace. "It is time for you to pay for all of the pain that you have caused Vegeta-sei."

"Oh my," Frieza said with mock terror as he slowly stepped towards King Vegeta. "I guess I'd better hurry out of here and run for my life."

"The only way you are going to be leaving here is through the next dimension."

Frieza turned to see the prince, glaring daggers at him in his Saiyan battle armor. A chuckle escaped his throat. "Oh, I don't think so, little monkey. I plan on leaving here in only a quarter of an hour. After I destroy the little fool that thought that she would be able to defeat me, the strongest being in the universe, I will go, and enjoy the fireworks of your planet…while it's blown to bits."

"You will not be capable of accomplishing that task, Frieza, not while you will be wiped from existence." Vegeta walked in front of him, lowering into a fighting stance. "Take your best shot, you fucking bastard."

"Be careful what you wish for. It…just…might…kill you!" And with that, Frieza sent a beam of energy at Vegeta.

Vegeta stood there, arms crossed with a classic smirk on his face. Frieza's attack turned into nothingness. "You'll have to do better than that."

Frieza's shock expression quickly turned into a scowl. "So, I see that the scientist was successful. There's no other way that you could've dodged that." He prepared to leap at him. "Enjoy your last breath, monkey."

"This is endless!" Letti yelled at Kakarrot. "I'm starting to run out of energy."

Kakarrot frowned as he kept shooting. He too, was feeling the effects of fatigue. "Just keep on attacking, Letti. If we were to attack head on, our blockade wouldn't matter anymore, leaving the palace doors unguarded."

"Well, if we grow too tired, it wouldn't matter anyway. None of us would be able to lift a finger to stop them. I say we stop shooting, and start fighting."

Another soilder, Cumba, came up to them. "I don't know if you guys have noticed it, but I already feel Frieza's energy in the palace."

Kakarrot stopped and sensed. Cumba was right. He came up with a new plan. "Alright, Letti. Get some of the men indoors to ward off any that try to enter the palace. You can do that head on attack that you were talking about."

Letti gave him a nod. "And where are you going?"

"Inside, to help Prince Vegeta. Just make sure that nobody enters the palace to get to Bulma."

Letti watched him blast off inside the building. "Will do, Kakarrot."
