Here's the next chappy you've probably waited on for sooo long!!! (Hey, at least it wasn't as big as a wait as it was like last time...)
*~*~*
Pan walked into the ballroom in her black evening gown; it was a silky black dress that was trimmed with silver and had diamonds lining up along the edges of the dress. The dress had no back to it, it's thin spagetti diamond straps holding it up, the dress itself not being too tight but hugging her curves just in the right places, the length of the dress going down to her knees. She wore skin-colored stockings and black high heels decorated with diamonds (A/N: Hey, when you're in the family of the "World Martial Arts Champion", you can affort stuff like this all lined up with diamonds, and if you didn't notice, diamonds are my favorite jewel *_* Kirei...), her long dark hair was tied up into a loose bun with curly strands falling from it and framing her delicate face, wearing diamond earings and a thick diamond choker necklace, a black shawl covering her pale sholders. She wore only a modest amount of make-up; her eyes had a bit of black eyeliner around it, mascara and a light silvery-blue eyeshadow spread across her eyelids, making her beautiful ebony eyes shine with every beam of light that reached her. Besides her eyes, she wore a rosey-colored lipstick. This make-up alone was all she really needed on; the eyes and lips shone out, her face was already pale and beautiful and she always seemed to have a natural blush of her own. Pan was once again greeted by the many guests of her party, getting hugs and kisses from all her family and friends, happy birthday greetings, etc. etc.
Yes, Ms. Son Pan sure did look absolutely stunning, but all the women there knew that it shouldn't have taken her that long to get ready...
It must've been just slightly over an hour before she rejoined the party.
"Pan honey, what took you?" asked ChiChi, Pan's beautifully young looking grandmother asked, Videl and Bulma standing by and looking at Pan for the answer, curious to know themselves.
"Oh, I er...took a bath to relax a bit cause' my muscles were kind of sore from the training I did a few days ago, and I guess I just dozed off," Pan quickly lied.
"Oh, okay then sweetie, we were just wondering," responded Videl, smiling and hugging her daughter close. "You look great."
Pan hugged her mother back and smiled, thanking her, a quiet sigh escaping her in relief.
"Good, they fell for it..." Pan said in her head. "I just hope that nobody noticed Trunks was gone too..."
*-*-*
Trunks made his way into the ballroom too, looking around and trying to not cause too much attention to himself.
"And just where were you?" a voice asked from behind him.
"Ack!" Trunks jumped up a little, startled, and then turned around to face his sister. "Oh, hiya Bra..."
"That doesn't answer the question; where were you? You've been gone for like...an hour and a half!"
"Oh...I er..." Trunks gulped, a million excuses racing through his mind, trying to find the right one. Suddenly an idea popped up. "I...forgot my present for Pan at home!!! I had to go get it...and I forgot where I put it, so it kinda took me a while to find it, but I found it!" Trunks smiled, laughing nervously.
"Oh really?" Bra looked at her brother questionably; if she knew her brother as well as she thought she did, then she knew that nervous laughter and that meant he was lying. "Where is it then?"
"It's...uh...oh...it's..." Trunks made as though he were checking his pockets, praying to Kami for a way to get out of this one...
"Boy! Come here!" Said a gruffy voice from the corner of the ballroom. Both Trunks and Bra looked over to where their father had called Trunks, Trunks then closing his eyes and sighing.
"Oh thank you...thank you..." he muttered under his breath, thankful for once in his whole lifetime that his father called his son over to him. With that, he made his way over to the short, spikey-haired Saiyajin Prince. "What is it?"
His father turned to the side, looking off towards the middle of the ballroom where most everybody was surrounding the birthday girl, his eyes narrowed down seriously. "When are you going to finally stop holding back?"
Trunks felt his heart stop.
"Wh...Wha...What?!?" the lavander-haired man asked his father, staring blankly at him.
"You heard me, when are you going to stop hiding it?"
Trunks tried to play dumb. "F...Father, I don't know what you're talking about. Hide what? I don't underst..."
"Don't play dumb with me, boy!!" The Saiyajin prince cut off his son. "Do you take me as a fool?"
Trunks just stood there, his mouth kept shut. After a moment of silence, Vegeta began to talk again.
"You've been keeping your secret for far too long. It's not healthy for a Saiyajin to hide his true feelings for his mate."
Looking up, Trunks stared at his father with a stern look on his face. "How long have you known?" he asked, his gaze going to the direction where Vegeta was staring, also looking at Pan.
"I've known for a while now. You must've mated a little over a year ago, am I right?"
Trunks's eyes widened at his father. Damn...he's good...
"Yes, you are. But how did you find out?"
Vegeta smirked. "Hmph, well, for one thing, out of every Saiyajin here I should know more about the ways of the Saiyans more than anything. It's simple really. When you're away from Kakarrot's brat's brat for too long, you act depressed, you seem to get ill, the only way you ever seem to brighten up is when you're around that girl. I know when you're not in the house, and I can sense your chi, and it's usually always around hers. Your little charades aren't going to work much longer though, Trunks," Vegeta continued on, his expression once again becoming stern. "Sooner or later, even when you are with your mate, you'll start to get sick, your mind will blank out, you won't be able to put two and two together; if you are not truely honest of your relationship with your mate, both of you will be doomed for a fate even worse than death-it's as though your in the process of dying, but the torture never ends, and you're stuck in that state forever. The bonding of two Saiyajins is a serious thing, my son..." Vegeta looked into his son's dark blue orbs. "You have to tell them."
Trunks gulped, nodding understandably. Everything his father had just told him was true; he did feel rather ill whenever he wasn't around Pan, and his mind was totally blank when he was in that state of sicklyness.
"You have not yet even been able to communicate telepathically, have you?"
"We haven't been able to do what now?"
Vegeta grumbled. "I thought so. Don't mind what I just said boy, but for both of your sakes you better fess up soon."
Both father and son both looked up towards the rest of the party, everybody now in little groups of their own, Pan in the corner talking with Marron and Bra. Pan was smiling and listening to the girls chatting happily, but her eyes were dim and lifeless looking..."
*-*-*
Dinner finally came along, all the guests sitting in the large dining room that must've been just nearly as big as the ballroom was. There was a huge, long dinner table, decorated with white lace cloth and china. There must've been enough food in that room to feed the whole country, but with the Saiyajins and their appetites, they'd be lucky if the food lasted at least an hour tops. Pan sat at the head of the table, her parents sitting besides her, Trunks also sitting somewhat close-by, a few seats down, sitting besides Goten, Marron on his other side.
Everybody was chatting, until finally Mr. Satan sat up from his chair and gently tapped his wine glass, getting the attention from everybody. "Excuse me, if I may have everyone's attention...I'd just like to propose a toast for my lovely granddaughter, who with each year is growing up to be the most beautiful woman I've ever known."
With that, everybody applauded, afterwards a few small speeches being told by Pan's parents and grandparents and more applause, the servants then walked around with the different main course meals on silver plates, offering them to everyone as everyone once again started talking amongst themselves before Trunks shyly stood up and tapped his wine glass with a spoon, not really concentrating and controlling his strength, the wine glass shattering upon the spoon's impact. Trunks sweatdropped, at least having gained the attention of everyone, a few chuckles coming from them.
"Er...hi! I just wanted to say, well, pretty much everything that everybody else said, and I don't really think you'd want me to repeat it all. There's something I've been meaning to tell everybody and, er...well..." Trunks glanced over to Pan, and then met eye to eye with his father sitting across from him, "I...well, Pan and myself, have..." Trunks felt himself beginning to sweat nervously, upon feeling the stares from everyone in the room.
"Come on Trunks, you can do it, just come out with it..." Trunks told himself in his head.
"...MeAndPanHaveBeenLifeMatedToOneAnotherForThePastYearAndAHalf, okay that's all I wanted to say, thanks!!!" as Trunks then sat down and slumped into his chair. The room went dead silent.
Suddenly there was a rather large chi level being raised to its extent.
Everybody who felt it then looked up over to the end of the table, next to Pan, where Gohan was standing, his chair had been knocked over, lying on the ground behind him, his black spikey hair surged up with electricity as his usual dark eyes were glowing an eerie aqua-green...
Gohan's glasses fell off from his face, landing onto the table, his teeth bared and his fists clenched at his sides, Videl desperately trying to calm her husband down as was his daughter, father and brother.
"Gohan!!! Gohan, calm down!!!"
"Son...take it easy..."
"Whoa!!! Um...bro?"
Suddenly a huge flash of blinding gold light filled the room, knocking over the table, the servants running for cover, the guests of Mr. Satan and the family's business (being invited, not really knowing the family, and of course not understanding what's going on) beginning to scream as they made way for the doors.
Gohan let out an angry growl, glaring at Trunks in his powerful Mystic/Super Saiyajin (GT so screwed up with this...) form.
"YOU...YOU WHAT?!?!??!!!!!!"
