Rating: R - NC-17

Warnings: Yaoi, violence, language, poor grammar, attempted writing, good times

Pairings: Goku X Vegeta… completely classic. You have to sort of look for it in this part.

Notes: I should probably mention that this begins during the fight when Vegeta first came to Earth. Also, it turns out that following the storyline (FUNimation, which oddly, isn't that fun) as rigidly as I have while still adding another `element' to the story is really tough (a lot harder than I had thought it would be when I started), so sorry if it sucks.

//flashback//

A/N: I saw a few of the older episodes recently and got "inspired." If I didn't get the dialogue quite right, it's because I have a crappy memory, so I made up the stuff escaping me. Actually, I can't really remember that much of the action either, so I may have skipped around a little… or a lot. Artistic license, well, not in my case…

PART I: EARTH

Vegeta stared at the man before him. Kakkarot had managed to sidestep his last attack, although he did lose half his shirt in the process. The other saiyan was looking back at the beam that had whizzed past his left ear. With a brief glance to his right, the taller saiyan lowered himself onto the nearest rock column jutting up from the ground; the battleground was littered with the pillars. Then, he raised his hand up to the edge of the burnt and torn cloth and ripped it away, revealing his chiseled torso.

Vegeta narrowed his eyes slightly, ready for another round. He rushed towards Kakkarot, but not before hearing the man call out "Kaioken times three." In a blur of orange, the taller saiyan flew around him, delivering punches and kicks that connected forcefully with their target. Vegeta gasped out loud as the pain reached his brain. *How can he be so fast, or so powerful?* The prince was beginning to make a habit out of letting the younger saiyan shock him.

Then, Kakkarot darted off faster than Vegeta could follow, momentarily relieving his brutal assault, but the saiyan prince soon locked onto him. Vegeta quickly threw a blast in the path of his opponent, but not quick enough. The taller saiyan had foreseen the attack and in an instant was looking into the face of the prince, delivering a vicious blow to the smaller man's abdomen. Then, he darted away again to recover from the use of his Kaioken.

Vegeta's eyes went wide with pain as he fell to his weakened knees, and then rolled onto his side, so that his back was facing Kakkarot, and so that he was out of the other man's sight. *How can anyone improve that much in just one year?* He gasped for breath, giving himself enough time to recover before getting up for his next attack, thankful that Kakkarot needed breaks after using his kaioken.

With a little effort, he pushed himself up from the dusty ground, ignoring his body's protests and disregarding the dirt that clung to his open wounds, stinging them. To say he was mad was the understatement of the year, but he was in no means deterred. Obviously, Kakkarot would have to pay for his insolence.

With a quick burst of speed, he shot into the air, hovering roughly fifty feet above his opponent, smirking confidently. It was time the idiot was put into his place.

"Say goodbye to your precious planet, Kakkarot!" It was his only warning as he powered up and shot down his most deadly blast: his Gallic Gun. He wasn't surprised when Kakkarot countered with an attack of his own, but to his astonishment, it greatly slowed his beam, although it did not stop his attack. What did surprise him was when Kakkarot powered up using his "kaioken" technique that Vegeta was beginning to find more than a little annoying. The effect was that it not only stopped his attack, but also began to push it back.

"His beam is stronger than my Gallic Gun!" Vegeta yelled, amazed. It had never happened before. Quickly, the saiyan prince tried to regain the upper hand without success, only too aware of the closing in of the enemy attack, and was caught on Kakkarot's beam as it shot up into the sky.

*****

Goku watched his kamehameha wave send the tempered saiyan towards the outer layers of the atmosphere when he heard some noise behind him. He turned to look at a short, overweight individual rushing towards him.

"Yajirobe? Where were you?" he asked, surprise creeping into his inflection.

"I was over there behind those rocks cheering for you the whole time, well in my head anyway. Didn't you see me?"

"No."

"Yeah, you had me pretty nervous though, but I knew you'd come through. You beat him Goku!" he said, slapping the taller man on the shoulder in a gesture of congratulations. Goku released a howl of pain and hunched over slightly. "Whoa, you're pretty beat up."

"Yeah, those last few power ups took a number on my body."

"But you got him, right?"

"Well at this particular moment, things are looking pretty good," Goku said, a little wearily.

"Now we can go home and rest, since you took care of him. Yep, the two of us, standing in the victory circle."

"He's not done yet."

"You mean… that beam didn't kill him?" Yajirobe asked nervously.

"No, but it did give me a few moments to recover, and I think it probably scuffed him up a little too. He'll be back though."

"What?!" the shorter man cried, backing up slightly.

"Yeah, I think he's regaining control and will be off my beam pretty soon… and mad as a hornet."

"Well, uh, nice talking to you, Goku. Gotta go!" Yajirobe called out, spinning around and running off.

"Yajirobe?" Goku said, looking after the retreating form of the shorter man.

*****

Far above the planet's surface, an enraged saiyan prince managed to push himself off to the side of the powerful beam that had left him temporarily incapacitated. As it shot past him, he took a moment to assess his chances in this fight. In his current state, they weren't looking too promising. The revelation caused his anger to mount even higher.

"He's stronger than I am!! I'll have to transform to beat him!" Vegeta angrily spat at no one in particular. In that moment, however, he was thankful for his ace in the hole, it would take care of the bastard below.

He smirked to himself as he shot back down towards the Earth. Victory was so close that it's stench was nearly overpowering. Soon Kakkarot would feel defeat's caustic touch, and he would be there to relish in it. Never had an opponent been so difficult, nor would his triumph over them be quite so exquisite or sweet.

In a matter of seconds he was landing on one of the many rock pillars in the region about twenty meters from the other male saiyan.

"I commend you Kakkarot. No other warrior has ever come as far as you have. Unfortunately, your trial ends here. You see, it all has to do with your father." The introduction to death was unnecessary, or the off-handed background information, but the prince was already beginning to savor his reachable victory.

"My father?!" Goku asked, wondering exactly what a man he had never known had to do with this battle.

"Yes, an average fighter, but a brilliant scientist. We ran into some trouble on a planet a little while back, until your father did this," Vegeta said, suddenly creating a white energy sphere to hover ominously above his gloved hand, "I noticed that someone has conveniently removed your moon, but thanks to this, that is no longer a problem," he said, suddenly flinging the sphere high into the blue sky.

"You see Kakkarot, it simulates full moonlight, allowing a saiyan who still possesses their tail to transform. You no longer have the greatest source of your power," he said in indication to the younger saiyan's missing appendage. As if to demonstrate, he lifted his eyes to the ball of energy now hanging in the sky. Suddenly, he began to increase in size as hair bristled to life all over his body. His burgeoning form swelled as hair covered his face, and his nose and mouth began to stretch outward, taking on the form of a giant ape.

*****

Goku took a step back in alarm. "What is that thing?!" The ape that had once been Vegeta looked down at him through red eyes and began rambling on once again about how he was superior, and how he was going to win the fight because of their race's ability to turn into a giant ape at the sight of a full moon as long as they had their tail. Along with the growth in size, a transformed saiyan would also have a substantial increase in power, as was evident by what Goku was sensing, which added a touch of nervousness to his demeanor, but failed to damper his excitement. He always did enjoy a good fight, and the saiyan prince was not letting him down. In fact, as things were turning out, no one even came close.

Just as his brain was absorbing this new information, Goku suddenly realized that Vegeta was taking a swing at him, and he barely dodged in time. He danced around Vegeta's fists a few more times before he was hit, the blow sending him crashing into a nearby rock pillar. Vegeta took advantage and began pummeling mercilessly into Goku's battered body, sending rock chips flying through the air with the force of it. The younger saiyan struggled to withstand the blows when Vegeta let up for a fraction of a second, barely allowing Goku the time to see his break and dart away from the rubble that the desert rock had become.

His escape was stopped as Vegeta's giant tail came lashing at him with surprising speed, knocking him from the air.

*Damn! I was close! Nice hit, though.*

As his body ground against the earthen floor, Goku had an idea light his mind. In an instant he shot up into the sky, hovering high behind Vegeta. Luckily, the saiyan prince had not seen where he went, as he had not expected the younger saiyan to immediately bounce back. Goku gathered a bit of energy, took a breath, and braced himself. "Hey Vegeta! Right behind you!" The ploy worked.

As the giant ape spun around, Goku screamed, "Solar Flare!" and let the energy burst into a brilliant white light from his hands, blinding the prince. Then, he darted off about four hundred meters and began to collect energy for a spirit bomb, hoping he had enough time before Vegeta recovered.

*****

Vegeta clawed at his eyes, trying to rid them of the painful throb that he still felt. Even as he growled out a sworn revenge to Kakkarot, he couldn't help but admire the attack. He had been expecting Kakkarot to go on the offensive and have a blast already heading in his direction before he turned around, but to be blinded was not something he had expected.

It took a few minutes before his vision began to return, and at first it was so blurry it hardly made a difference, but then it slowly cleared up, the edges still unfocused for only a moment longer. Immediately, he began to search around for Kakkarot, fearing that his prey had left him for good, but part of him knowing better. He strained his senses, trying to determine whether or not the other saiyan was still in the vicinity or resting somewhere not too far off. When his sensitive hearing picked up something behind him, he spun around to see Kakkarot standing, both arms raised in the air as a brilliant blue ball hovered over them. *So he thought he could blast me from behind, did he?*

He quickly gathered some energy of his own, and at the moment Kakkarot was about to send his blast at him, he released his blast of choice.

"Gallic Gun!"

The deadly energy sped at Kakkarot faster than the Earth-grown saiyan had expected, for when Vegeta's attack hit him, a look of surprise and dismay found its way onto his handsome visage as he fell to the ground, dropping his energy ball along the way.

Vegeta wasted no time in leaping high into the air, arcing upwards, and then coming down, one leg curled beneath him as the other leg remained fully extended to land hard on Kakkarot. The other saiyan let out an ear splitting cry of pain.

The prince lifted his foot only to drop it once more on the crushed body of his opponent. He raised his foot again, aiming to stomp out the younger saiyan, but Kakkarot took advantage of that plan and shot a caustic blast at him, hitting him square in the eye. Howling in pain, Vegeta covered the injury with one hand and scooped Kakkarot up with the other, cursing his name. After a moment, as the pain subsided as much as it would, he removed his hand from his face, glaring down at his opponent. He had a feeling Kakkarot had used the last of his energy on that attack and brought his other hand to wrap around the saiyan, holding him inches away from his barreled nose. He smirked, although it was hard to tell on his ape-like features, and began to slowly squeeze the other saiyan to death.

*****

Goku screamed in pain as he felt his bones begin to splinter inside his body. The pain was more than unbearable as the bestial fingers that encircled him tightened even more, to his alarm. He knew he didn't have much longer if this kept up, and his one regret was failure to defend his planet.

*****

Vegeta watched with a growing sense of victory as his opponent began to steadily weaken under the pressure against his body. Even as he smirked triumphantly, somewhere in the back of his head a little unnamed voice began to try and convince him what a waste of a perfectly good saiyan this was turning out to be. A small trickle of sadness that hadn't even exposed itself when he killed Nappa began to surface, as he was reminded of how he was soon to be the last remaining full-blooded saiyan. He tried desperately to ignore it, but it persisted. For a brief instant, he almost faltered in his intent, but with a sudden upsurge of pride, he continued, although the feeling remained.

While he was lost in his inner turmoil he barely noticed when a stone fell to the ground behind him. If he hadn't been a saiyan, he probably never would've heard it. He doubted the foolish human even heard it. It took no more than a snap of his tail to send the man careening to the ground however, and then he turned around and laughed, recognizing the short man from earlier.

Suddenly, another blur zipped past him, but he smacked it with his hand, it was Kakkarot's son. Already, though, the Earthman had rejoined the action and it wasn't long before Vegeta found himself swatting at them like bugs.

Suddenly, a searing jolt of pain raced up his spine, emanating from his tail. He didn't need to look to know what had happened. His tail had been cut off.

He spun around to see who had done it, but saw nothing except the rocky desert expanse. Almost immediately, he felt the effects of losing the crucial appendage. The hair that had sprouted freely was beginning to fade away as his body began to shrink back to his normal size. Whoever had sidetracked his victory would be dealt with. He would make their death as painful as he possibly could.

*****

Goku felt the intense pressure on his body abruptly lift, and soon realized that he was falling. Abatement washed over him as, cracking his eyes open, he saw Vegeta shrinking back to his normal size, and let out a sigh of relief as his shattered body hit the ground like a meteor. He could barely move, but managed to strain his senses towards the battle that was still surrounding him.

The Earth-raised saiyan could easily tell the ardent rage had boiled up inside his opponent once again. He may not have been able to do anymore fighting, but he felt confident in his team's abilities, knowing deep within himself that they wouldn't lose. They couldn't, because if they did, they would perish with their planet.

*****

Vegeta seethed openly, his fury nearly blinding with its searing heat. He had to take a breath just to keep himself from shaking with it. He began to look around with deadly intent in his eyes, spotting Kakkarot's son scuttling over to his fallen father. The prince of Saiyans smirked evilly, seeking the opportunity to vent some anger, and get in some precious revenge.

He didn't let his gaze waver for an instant as he approached the pair. It seemed as thought Kakkarot was giving the little brat a pep talk. Inspirational words would not aid their cause. He would make sure of that. The Earth-raised was reaching for his son's hand when he decided to break up the little get-together.

With a leap upwards, one leg extended, he plummeted himself downwards to land squarely on Kakkarot's wrist, causing the younger saiyan to cry out in pain, and his son to shy back. He probably broke a few of his opponent's bones in the attack.

"Sorry to break up the fun, but I'm not finished. You see, I intend to watch you and all that you hold dear suffer, Kakkarot, starting with your son. Then I'm going to send this miserable planet and all life on it to the next dimension. You wasted your…" he was abruptly cut off as Kakkarot's brat slammed a powerful fist into his jaw, the blow causing him to stumble backwards a few feet. The enraged kid held more power than he had given him credit for. It wasn't that big of a setback though; he could still easily win, especially with Kakkarot out of the picture.

*****

Krillin made his way over to Goku, alternating his vigil from Vegeta and Gohan's struggle to his battered friend.

"Goku! Are you all right?"

"Well, I think I'll survive."

"Gohan's not as strong as Vegeta," he warned, eyeing the fight warily, knowing he was stating the perfectly obvious.

"It doesn't matter. I created a powerful energy ball earlier but I dropped most of it in an attack from Vegeta. I still have some of it left though. I was trying to give it to Gohan when Vegeta intervened. Krillin, I need you to hit him with it."

"But Goku, I don't think I can…"

"Sure you can! Give me your hand and I'll transfer it to you. Just listen to me."

"Well, all right. At this point, I'd be willing to try anything," Krillin said, pushing his doubts to the back of his mind and thrusting his hand at Goku's. He had to trust this plan, otherwise, what else did they have?

It took a moment before he felt anything. The transfer of energy started with a light, tingling sensation at his fingertips, then surged into a burgeoning increase of power. Krillin stared in awe at his hand, as Goku let go of his grasp. He could see the shadow of blue energy hovering about his open palm.

"Good. Now concentrate and form it into a ball," Goku ordered.

"Right," Krillin said, brow furrowing in absorption of his task. It took a moment but with a little patience, he slowly guided the energy into the shape of a ball. "I did it!"

"That's great! But you only have one shot Krillin, so make sure you hit him," Goku said, his tone leaving no room for error.

"Okay," Krillin responded, resolutely, trying not to focus on the doubts and uncertainties that were swimming throughout his head. With determination, he floated up to a high pillar to overlook the fight between Vegeta and Gohan, so he could have a clear view of when the best time to strike would be. Almost the moment his feet touched the rock beneath him, a voice popped into his head.

"Krillin? This is King Kai. I trained Goku. I'm the one who taught him to use the spirit bomb that you now seem to have," he hurriedly explained.

"What?! Where are you?" Krillin asked, looking around wildly, trying to find the owner of the voice.

"I'm talking to you through telepathy! Listen carefully. Don't worry about the spirit bomb, you'll know when the time is right. It seeks out evil so you don't have to rely entirely on your aim either. Just relax!"

"Easy for you to say." He breathed deeply despite himself, intently watching and feeling for the right moment. It took only a few minutes, but it seemed like hours to him. At last, he was sure he had it, and with a wind up from his arm, he launched the powerful ball of energy at the distracted saiyan prince.

To his horror, at the last minute, Vegeta spun around and saw the attack. The saiyan quickly sped away from the oncoming projectile, leaving poor Gohan frozen in its path, the child's eyes growing wide with fear as he saw the attack heading at him. Krillin swore in panic.

"Gohan!! Keep your thoughts free from evil! Those with a pure soul can deflect the attack!" Goku suddenly yelled with all his might towards his young son from his grounded position. Krillin held his breath, fear coursing his veins, as Gohan quickly braced himself to block the blue orb speeding towards him, eyes glittering in concentration. When it connected, it pushed the boy backwards into the imposing rock wall he was standing in front of. Krillin wanted to look away, but found he couldn't tear his eyes from the scene before him. Within mere seconds, all he saw was the brilliant blue light from the attack, suddenly, amazingly repelled by the boy. Krillin watched in awe as the attack locked onto a new target.

*****

Vegeta stopped and turned around to see the son of Kakkarot destroyed by his own friend's attack. What he saw instead was the attack inches away from himself. He opened his mouth wide in shock, as the blast enveloped him. There was no way!

*****

Krillin and Gohan rushed over to Goku, chattering excitedly, relishing their moment in the victory circle. Their celebrating was short lived however, as Vegeta's tattered body came crashing to the ground, smoking slightly.

"No way! He survived that?!" Krillin called out in shock and alarm. His tension soon began to fade as he realized the saiyan prince wasn't about to move, so he tentatively walked over to the fallen warrior.

He had to admit, the prince wasn't nearly as frightening in this state, but was daunting nonetheless. He had reached Vegeta's body and after a moment's hesitation turned around only to suddenly be kicked in the back, sending him crashing to the soil, face first, effectively grounding him. The attack was more than his body could handle as he slipped into unconsciousness.

Gohan watched on in terror as Vegeta stalked towards him, limping slightly. The young half-saiyan was so frozen by his own fear that he could do nothing but gape, remaining rooted to the ground where he was.

Suddenly the prince towered over him, blocking his view of everything else, when a crack resounded through the air as Vegeta's eyes bulged and he fell to his knees. Gohan looked past to see Yajirobe standing there, a sword in his right arm, raised triumphantly in the air.

"Yeah, I got him! I defeated the mighty saiyan!" The man's excitement was short lived.

"That nearly split my armor!" Vegeta cried, whipping to his feet and spinning to face the perpetrator of the failed attack. Yajirobe looked terrified.

"Oh! Uh, sorry Mr. Vegeta, it was just a joke, you know? I always admired you and I was really hoping that we could be friends and…" he didn't get to finish as Vegeta sent a foot to his face, shooting him a good fifty yards back.

*****

*Gohan! Can you hear me?* Goku's thoughts rang like a bell through his son's mind.

"Dad, is that you?" Gohan asked, finding his father's voice a comforting essence amidst the terror that was sweeping over him.

*Yes son. Do you see that ball of energy in the sky? I want you to look at it son, it's the source of your power.*

*****

Vegeta approached his next victim hearing only too late the commotion going on behind him. Eyes wide and already knowing what he would see, he spun around to look.

"The kid! I forgot about him!" With a sudden urgency, the saiyan prince rushed over to where the young half-saiyan was already beginning to morph into the form of a giant ape. Long white fangs had jutted from his mouth, and a rapid hair growth was beginning to cover the young boy's body, as his clothing tore under the pressure.

Frantically, Vegeta began to deal futile blows to the child's torso before a thought struck him, panic clouding it earlier.

"The tail! It has to come off!" It was too late though, as he tugged in vain on the fifth appendage. Already the boy had grown three times the height of the prince and only continued as he crashed a mighty fist down towards the saiyan he now towered over. Vegeta dodged barely in time and danced around the ape's fists a few more times, unwittingly mimicking Kakkarot's earlier plight, before he could dart away from the hot zone.

When he could no longer see his mouse, the ape form of Gohan turned its destructive attention to a large boulder embedded in the ground and effortlessly pulled it from its roots, lifting it high above his head and mindlessly walking towards Krillin and Yajirobe, despite their frantic yells and protests. They were mere ants to him.

"Gohan stop!" Goku's voice rang out like a crystal in the air. Immediately, the giant ape halted.

"Amazing," Krillin said to himself, breathing out a sigh of unmitigated relief, "Gohan responds to his father's voice instantly!" After a moment, he called out "Don't let him get away Gohan! He's the bad guy!"

After a slight hesitation, Gohan turned around and began heading for Vegeta, who was not at all pleased by this new turn of events. With his increased speed, the boy quickly caught up to the saiyan prince, boulder still poised above his head before he brought it crashing down on the prince, who had no chance of avoiding the attack. Vegeta, slightly fazed by the impact, desperately flew up and made a beeline for Gohan's tail, but was smacked away by a hand.

With a few more attacks and getting hit around, Vegeta was sent flying, only to coolly spin around in midair and send a powerful beam to slice off the tail. His aim was perfect, but what he forgot to account for was the fact that Gohan was much bigger in his ape form and that he happened to be directly underneath what was now a falling, shrinking giant.

"I can't get around him!" Vegeta cried out as he found himself trapped under the falling body, and then smashed into the desert ground.

*****

Vegeta awoke to find himself lying under the naked body of Kakkarot's four-year-old son. He could barely move enough to reach inside his armor and grab his ship's remote. His body was too battered and bruised for him to fight any longer. The prince pressed a button on the small rectangular box, sending a signal to his awaiting pod, which received it, and instantly shot into the sky and sped towards his location. With a familiar, but nearly forgotten exhaustion, he closed his eyes and waited.

Within moments, the pod landed twenty feet away, and it took all the strength left within him to force his body to crawl the distance. It wasn't until he was at the open door that he was stopped; the sound of dirt crunching beneath the feet of the bald headed human was enough to tell him he had lost. Though the man had to drag his foot as he let his arm hang limply at his side, he was much better off than the saiyan prince.

"Hold it saiyan. You're not going anywhere," the man called Krillin said, thrusting a sword at his throat. Vegeta recognized it as the one that had put an ugly crack in the back of his armor.

Vegeta did stop, but it soon became apparent that the human was arguing with someone, presumably through telepathy. With a bit of deduction, Vegeta determined that it was Kakkarot, and they were arguing over his fate. For some unexplainable reason, it seemed Kakkarot wanted him to live, causing a mixture of confusion and something unrecognized to rise in him. In the end, the human relented, dropping the sword to the dusty ground. By this time, the saiyan prince had pulled himself into the single seat of the pod.

"You should have killed me when you had the chance. Now once I heal, I'll come back to destroy you and your planet!" Vegeta announced as the door shut. He could feel the sudden vibrations in the seat as the pod blasted off, returning to its normal running hum once he was outside the planet's gravitational pull.

Well?????????????? I guess I should mention that I want to know what you think, yes, that's right. I care what each and every one of you are thinking. -_^ Tell me what you thought of Part I, or about your day, or even about that weird green stuff you found in your breakfast this morning. -_- Go for it.
