Chapter 4: Plans Made

The next morning Chi-Chi awoke at 6:30 in the morning and got ready for class.

"Man, I hate 8:00 classes but what are you going to do?" she asked herself as she brushed her hair into a high pony tail. All ready dressed, her hair was the only thing left to fix.

"Chi-Chi, phone!" 18 yelled from the living room. Putting her brush down, Chi-Chi opened her room door and left heading towards the phone.

"Who would call me so early?" she asked 18 as she entered the room.

"Bulma" 18 said as she handed Chi-Chi the phone.

"At 7 in the morning? This must be really important" Chi-Chi said as she took the phone. She waited until 18 left the room before speaking into the phone.

C: Hey Bulma!

B: Good, your up! I was hoping to catch you before you went to class

C: What is it?

B: Are you coming back to the club tonight?

C: Bulma, are you telling me you called me at 7 in the morning to ask me if I was going back to the club? Are you crazy?

B: C'mon Chi, I know someone who wants to talk to you again

C: I am not going back there to talk to Yamcha. Why would you want me to speak to him anyway? I thought you hated him?

B: I don't hate him, I despise him, but anyway he's not the one I want you to meet

C: Then who? He's the only guy I met there last night.

B: No he's not! You meet Goku last night as well.

C: Goku? As in the bartender Goku?

B: Yep, he wants to see you again tonight

C: And let me guess, you told him I'd be there

B: You know me so well, don't you?

C: Bulma, I can't talk about this now. I have to get going.

B: Ok, I'll call you when you get back. What time is that again.

C: Sigh, I go from 8 to 11 this morning.

B: Ok so I'll call you again at 11:15

C: Wow, 15 whole minutes. You're sure giving me a lot of time to come home and get settled.

B: Fine, 11:30 but we have to talk about this

C: There is nothing to talk about. You know what? I have to go, bye!

B: Bye and you better answer the phone when I call back.

Chi-Chi sighed again as she hung up the phone.

`That girl!" she said as she turned around to see 18 standing behind her with Marron in her arms.

"So are you going back?" 18 asked as she looked at her.

"Why is everyone asking me that?" Chi-Chi asked as she left the living room and headed for her own. 18 followed close behind with Marron still in her arms.

"I'm only asking because I think it's a bad idea" 18 said as she stood in the doorway. Chi-Chi, who was packing her books, looked up at 18.

"And why is it a bad idea?" she asked as she looked back down at what she was doing.

"Because that club is nothing but trouble. You remember what happened last night" 18 said.

"Yes, I remember what happened last night but what does that have to do with me going back tonight? Yamcha's not going to be there if that's what you're worried about." Chi-Chi said as she zipped her bag up.

"I'm not worried about that jackass. I'm worried about you and this club affecting what you need to do" 18 said.

"And that is?" Chi-Chi asked.

"You need to make money to pay off your loans, rent, books and other stuff. Going to the club is stopping you from doing that. Have you forgotten what you do for a living?" 18 asked. Chi-Chi grabbed her coat and put it on.

"No, I did not forget but for once in my life can I go out and have some……what's that word I'm looking for……oh yeah, fun?" Chi-Chi snapped as she zipped her coat halfway up.

"Look, I'm not trying to start an argument with you this early in the morning but I'm just saying you should remember why we went to the club in the first place last night" 18 said.

"I thought we went to hang out?" Chi-Chi asked as she placed her bag on her back.

"We did but we also went so you could work, don't forget that" 18 said. Chi-Chi narrowed her eyes as she looked at 18.

"Look, I have to go! I'll be back by 11 so I'll watch Marron if you want" she said as she walked towards 18.

"Fine with me, I have to work anyway and I don't know how long it will take today" 18 said as she looked down at Marron who was asleep.

"Ok, see you then" Chi-Chi said as she brushed past 18 and headed towards the front door.

"Chi!" 18 yelled as she followed after her. Chi-Chi turned around and looked at her with the front door wide open.

"Just remember what I said" 18 said. Chi-Chi just looked at her before heading out the door and towards school.

By 11:40, Chi-Chi was back in the apartment working on a 10 page paper. 18 already left to work and Marron was in the back asleep so the place was quiet.

"Why did I pick this topic? I mean how much can you talk about the ozone layer and how we are destroying it?" Chi-Chi asked herself as she continued to type on the computer 18 had.

"I can't write 10 pages of this stuff" Chi-Chi said as she looked at the number of pages she had so far.

"2 pages out of 10! I'm going to be typing this thing forever" Chi-Chi said as she moved her hands off the keyboard and rested them at her sides. Just then the phone started to ring. Looking at her watch, Chi-Chi sighed as she got out of the chair and headed towards the phone.

C: I thought you said you were calling at 10:30

B: Sorry about that! Vegeta came over and we were discussing business…… very personal business

C: I can tell you're smiling now. I didn't know you were seeing someone. Isn't he the owner of the club?

B: Yep, that's him! Why do you think I love working there?

C: Makes sense now why you wrapped your arms around his neck last night after Yamcha left

B: Yeah, the 3 of us have history but it's just that…..all history. Vegeta and I live in the present now. So, what are you doing?

C: Working on a boring term paper

B: I'm glad I'm not you. Where's 18?

C: She went to work. She and I got into it after I finished talking to you.

B: What about? Not me I hope.

C: No, about me going back to the club tonight. She said I should be working tonight instead and I agree with her.

B: Are you kidding me? You'd rather stand on some cold corner and try to pick up guys instead of coming down to a hot club and have a guy already waiting for you.

C: I do not try to pick up guys, ok. They just come to me and besides I don't have a guy waiting for me anywhere except for when I get to work

B: Did you forget about Goku already?

C: I didn't forget about him but what does he want with me. I mean, I never really talked to him except to order a drink.

B: I don't know what you did to him last night but he was calling me all last night and all this morning wondering if you were going to come by tonight.

C: He was asking about me that much?

B: Yes he was. Look, you don't have to stay the entire night. Just stop by for a few minutes, talk to him a bit then when you're ready you can leave and do what you want to do

C: Fine, I'll come down but I'm not staying more then 15 minutes.

B: Make it 30 and we'll have a deal.

C: Fine, 30 minutes. I'm just going to see what he wants then I'm off to work, got it?

B: I got it! See you tonight! I'll tell Krillin that you're coming by so you can just walk in.

C: Speaking of Krillin, I was wondering what was the status on him?

B: Hey, you're suppose to be thinking of Goku not Krillin

C: It's not for me. I think he might like 18.

B: Oh really! Well he's single for one. He likes her, huh? Wait until I see him.

C: Don't start anything because I don't know for sure

B: Yeah whatever! I'll see you tonight

V: Woman, would you get off the phone and get over here

C: Is that Vegeta?

B: Yep, sorry but business calls. Bye!

C: Bye!

Chi-Chi hung up the phone with a smile on her face.

"I bet I know what kind of business she's talking about" she said as she started to laugh. Going back to the computer, Chi-Chi sat down and once again started working on her paper.

18 came home around 4 that afternoon to see Chi-Chi asleep with her head on the keyboard. Walking over to her, she gently placed her hand on her shoulder.

"Chi!" 18 whispered close to her ear. Immediately Chi-Chi sat upright and started to type.

"I'm awake Professor, I wasn't asleep" she said as her fingers just moved around the keyboard.

"Chill, it's just me" 18 said with a smile on her face. Chi-Chi looked at her then sighed. Looking at the screen, she frowned when she noticed she just typed a bunch of letters that made no sense.

"Where's Marron?" 18 asked as she took off her jacket and set in on a chair.

"Mrs. Marks took her kids to the park and came by here at 2 wondering if Marron wanted to go. She said she'd bring her back by 5. I figured you wouldn't mind" Chi-Chi said as she erased the nonsense she previously typed.

" Fine with me! Any calls?" 18 asked as she sat down on the chair.

"None for you. Bulma called again for me" Chi-Chi said as she looked at her.

"To get you to go to that club tonight? What did you tell her?" 18 asked.

"I told her I had to work" Chi-Chi said as she quickly turned her head away from 18 and looked at the computer screen.

"Good, so what did she say?" 18 asked.

"She just said she'd call me tomorrow" Chi-Chi said as she continued typing. 18 just looked at her as she got up and stretched.

"So how was work?" Chi-Chi asked.

`Fine, no problems today" 18 said as she walked over to her. Chi-Chi continued typing as 18 glanced over her shoulder.

"Make a lot?" Chi-Chi asked.

"Yeah! I did better then I normally do nowadays. How many pages do you have to do on this crap?" 18 asked as she read what Chi-Chi was writing.

"10 and I'm only on the 5th page" Chi-Chi said. 18 stifled a laugh as she backed away.

"Well good luck! I'm going to take a nap" 18 said as she headed towards her room. Chi-Chi quickly waved good-bye then went back to finishing her paper.

By 9 that night, Chi-Chi was standing in front of her mirror and applying her makeup. Putting down her mascara, she smiled at herself.

"Oh yeah, go Chi-Chi" she said out loud to herself. Admiring her outfit, she wore a black leather miniskirt with a short sleeve black leather halter top cut shirt. She decided against wearing stockings and had ankle high black leather boots on her feet.

"I hope Goku doesn't think I always dress this way but I am going to work afterwards. Wait, why do I care what he thinks? I'm not out to impress him anyway. I'm just going to talk to him, yeah, just talk. Nothing is going to happen and he probley only wants to see me because I owe him for two drinks" Chi-Chi said to herself as she walked towards her bed. Grabbing her coat and purse, she cut her light off and left the room.

"Hey 18, how do I look?" she said as she walked into the living room. 18 was sitting on the couch with Marron on her lap watching television.

"Great! The leather look tonight, huh? I bet you'll pick up lots of guys wearing that. Take my leather jacket to go with your outfit" 18 said. Chi-Chi smiled as she walked towards the hall closet. Hanging her jacket up, she took out 18's waist-length leather jacket.

"You don't think this is too much?" Chi-Chi asked as she put the coat on.

"No way, besides you need to make up for not working yesterday. That outfit will make up for not working yesterday, today and maybe even tomorrow" 18 said as she smiled at her.

"I'm just glad tomorrow is Saturday. No classes" Chi-Chi said as she placed her purse strap on her shoulder.

"Yeah, but we still have to work" 18 said. Chi-Chi just shrugged her shoulders as she walked over to the couch.

"Bye Marron!" she said as she bent down and gave her a peck on the cheek.

"You going to work Aunt Chi-Chi?" Marron asked with a smile on her face.

"Yeah, they're calling me to come in tonight" Chi-Chi said with a smile.

"When can I go see you work?" Marron asked. Chi-Chi looked at 18 who was looking back at her. Looking at Marron, Chi-Chi just continued to smile.

"Um……oh look, Rugrats is coming on" Chi-Chi said as he quickly turned towards the t.v. Marron screamed with delight as she looked at the t.v. Chi-Chi glanced at 18 who was just smiling at her.

"You got out of that one" 18 whispered.

"Yeah, thank goodness for the Rugrats" Chi-Chi said with a smile. Standing up, Chi-Chi walked towards the front door.

"Good luck at work" 18 said. Chi-Chi just opened the door as she looked back at 18 through the corner of her eye.

"See ya later" Chi-Chi said as she headed off towards the club for a quick meeting then off to work.

AN2: Next chapter: Chi-Chi's in the club once again. What's going to happen when she sees Goku? Is she going to stay for only 30 minutes or more? What will 18 do when she finds out where Chi-Chi went? Will she even find out? You can find out if you check out the next chapter.
