Chapter One

Bulma sighed as she sat and watched the party her mother was throwing for her and all her friends. Everything had been going great till he had showed up. Marai Trunks decided to come back to the past again to see how everyone was doing. That got everyone thinking of eight years ago when Trunks went to space and promptly disappeared. All efforts made to contact him and to bring him back were made in vain. Even the eternal dragon could not bring him back to earth. It saddened her. He had left thinking that everyone hated him, especially the one he tried the most to gain the praise of, his father.
When Marai first arrived to the Capsule Corps compound, there were a few tense moments. But after the awkwardness died off then the party got back into full swing again. Bulma was almost shocked at the ability of everyone to forget about her missing son, but she knew that they all cared. It was evident that he did not want to come back and they had steeled themselves for the possibility that he would never come back. Even she had given up on him coming back to earth. Goku had exhausted ever means he could think of to find trunks when he first disappeared. But it had shocked everyone when Vegeta mentioned using the Eternal Dragon to bring him back. After the dragon said that he could not do this because Trunks refused to come, Vegeta lost hope of him coming back. Only Goku held the firm belief that he would return someday.
Bulma decided to enjoy the party. She sighed, steeling herself to the memories that threaten to over whelm her. She got up from her chair at the table and went over to her old friend that had provided everyone with this world that she was determined to enjoy today. She would cry her heart out later.
“So, Trunks, how have you been since we last saw you?” She asked the intrepid time traveler.
“Not to bad. Everything has been going as well as it could go,” he replied.
“Did you ever have any problems after you destroyed the androids and cell?”
“No. Goku was just telling me about Buu. I think the androids disposed of him in my time. I haven't felt, seen, or heard anything of him. But I will keep an eye out just incase.” Trunks said, flashing a smile to die for.
“Have you kept up your training?” Bulma asked him, trying to make small talk.
“Yes, I have no idea if there will be any new threats.” He countered easily.
Bulma flashed her own smile before asking him her next question; knowing full well she would catch him off guard. “Have you found yourself a girlfriend yet?”
The time traveler blushed as he tried to answer the question. His reply was a very stuttered, “um, I really haven't been looking.”
Chuckling, Bulma dropped the subject for now, she would drill him later. She left him and talked randomly to all her friends. She did not notice the hours that flew by, and before she knew it was mid afternoon. By then she had completely forgot about her missing son. No one noticed any of the three spaceships that had begun to descend into the atmosphere.
