Kali finally entered his own household. Able now to get away from his mother. He was surprised to find his house still here and as he had left it. His eyes circled the large living room, then eyed the kitchen and then the dinning area. All filled with memories of Bra. She had livened this place up, placing pictures of objects on the wall, getting him a large leather couch and a huge reclining chair. Basically everything that was in the place she had given him. Except the bed. That’s all a Sayian needs in his own home. He walked on the hard wood floors, his footsteps echoing in the quiet house. He went down the hall till he stepped into his bedroom. And everything that had been in this room had been replaced. Except the bed.

A baby crib sat in the corner beside a dresser. Then a bed with blue sheets, and in the opposite corner was a rocking chair where Natally sat with a baby in her arms. Her black hair was french tied going down her shoulder to her waist. Her black eyes shot up with surprise and a smile appeared warmly. She stood upon seeing him and placed the baby in the crib. Kali watched with such interest but made sure none of it showed.

His voice was anything but friendly having no emotion beside anger to echo in his tone. “Why didn’t you tell my parents I was alive?”

She held herself back from reaching out to him, her desire to touch him just to make sure this was real. He had finally returned to her like she knew he would. “I felt you die. I figured after that is was just my mind running from me.”

“You are living here now.”

“I didn’t change much since I knew you would be back.”

He turned his back on her, not wishing to see the pain he planned to inflict on her. “Bra will be over shortly.”

Natally stiffened but she stepped closer to him, biting her lip in nervousness at what might happened to her after she reveals something. “I know.” She whispered. She stumbled back when he shot around to look at her with those deadly eyes. “I know.” Natally repeated just so he understood her meaning.

His black gaze darkened considerably and the power that laid dormant was boiling as he stepped closer. Her fear grew and she took a step back with each one he took till her back hit the wall. His nose touched hers. Luckily however the baby’s wails sounded because of the strength that was suffocating it’s tiny lungs. Kali’s eyes cleared and he shot glances all around to find out where he was. She went to the baby thankful to get away. Natally picked her up, calming her quickly. “I won’t tell, Kali.”

Kali growled, basically telling her to stop talking. He paced wildly for a few minutes before he took a deep breath and turned to her. Kali unexpectedly got sight of the little girls wide, innocent black eyes. It was a strange feeling. Sensing ones heart after living months without. But he felt it now as he gazed upon this creation that he had helped build.

But it was an abomination. It should Bra’s and his child. Not Natally’s. The child should have lavender hair, blue eyes, not black. Not black. He turned his back on her, keeping the demons down deep. “I don’t know what will happen. But just stay away from me. I don’t want to hurt anyone. Especially the brat.” Without protest or any other words, Natally walked out the door with the baby in her arms. “Natally.” She peaked her head back inside. “I’m sorry.” Her brows knitted. “Tell her good things. Even if you hate me.”

“I can’t hate you. You’re my mate.” She went out.

Natally exited the house stalling however upon the woman that just dropped down from the sky. Bra was startled by her presence but forced a smile on nonetheless. “What’s her name?” Bra peaked at the bundle in her arms.

“Lyta. After Kali’s grandmother.”

Bra nodded. “She’s beautiful. You look well.”

“As you, princess.” She bowed lightly then quickly jumped into the air.

Bra looked after her, disappointed that after all this time their pasts still couldn’t just be the past. “It was good to see you, my old friend.” Bra enter taking in the scent of a home she nearly thought of as her own not even a year ago. How many nights did she sneak out just to come here and lay with Kali? How foolish she was when younger. Now, she felt too mature to do something so stupid. If she had just told the court and everyone else, maybe now Kali and her would be mated and have a child of their own. Or maybe they would have been banded for life, never being able to see their family ever again.

She found him in the back of his house, the lake that was surrounded by trees to hide them when ever they went skinny dipping. Gods, so many nights basking in the warm waters with his naked body against hers. She had missed it. But surprisingly she no longer longed for it.

He leaned against a tree that had their initials craved in it. She had done that on their first year anniversary. How human she made their relationship, she briefly wondered how Kali put up with her and her foolish human ways. He had hated everything earthly.

She bit her lip nervously, the connection between them before when only touching matter was no longer present. Now she just felt shy. “You look well.” He spoke to break the silence. He could smell the scent of his cousin all over her.

“So do you. I like your hair.”

“I hate it. My father hates it.”

Bra shook her head, stepping closer to him so she could touch his face just lightly. “You look so different. I hardly recognize you.” She traced the scars that formed from his mouth up to his cheek, forcing a smile to forever be inscribed in his skin. Her brows knit as she inspected them all. They didn’t look like battle wounds. They appeared to be put there on purpose. She shook it away, catching the humiliation that reflected in his sad withdrawn eyes. “But I still see my Kali.” She smiled reassuring him that no matter how different he appeared, it didn’t matter.

He turned his face slightly, her fingers slowly fell from his skin wishing not to endure her touch of pity. “How was Earth?”

She backed up. “It was great. So many different things to see and do. So much fun everywhere. It’s amazingly funny that I’m stronger then all the humans in the world and I am considered the weakest here. I have a job. Well, I did. I was a hairstylist. It was so much fun. People pay lots of money just for me. It’s awesome. But I want to know about you. What happened to you? Why didn’t you come home sooner?”

His cheeks clenched and teeth gritted, looking out toward the water. “You’re mated. Aren’t you?” His whisper was barely audible, he swallowed hard.

How she hadn’t wanted to talk about this. “Yes.” The tears already welled up in her eyes.

“To my cousin.”

“Yes.” He stepped away going closer to the water. She was right behind him.

“How long did it take you to fall into his bed?”

Bra didn’t hide her outrage toward his blunt rudeness. She was careless to the rage that boiled around him. “How long did it take you to get Natally?”

He turned to her, “So it is revenge then?” Water was amazingly in his eyes. His face contorted in painful emotions. “That you mate my cousin? To punish me?”

Her anger died with his pain and she shook her head sadly with a smile. “No Kali. I would never punish you for being Sayian. You did what you thought was right. I respect that more then anything.”

“Then why? Why him?”

“I can’t answer that anymore then I can answer why you. It just happened like that. I didn’t mean for it to. And I fought it the best I could. I wanted to respect your last wish but Goten, he was so wonderful to me.” She stalled upon his vicious growl as he turned his back once more. “I have dealt with my guilt.” Bra finished, allowing reluctant tears to fall. “You died.” She stated forcibly trying to make herself feel better, trying to make it seem like she hadn’t betrayed him.

He turned to face her, and to her surprise she found his own set of tears dripping down his cheeks. His words so filled with betrayal “I lived for you.” He turned to face the water, staring across remembering all the forbidden kisses they shared here. His voice became the emotionless void it had once been “After the planet was achieved, after I killed all that was on it, I fell into a coma. My life force fell to nothing so I was not picked up on the Sayian radar. Traders came to ransack all they could. They found me breathing and took me aboard where they brought me back to health only to use me. I was their pet.” He spat the word out like vemon. “Chained and locked away like some whore. They had a ki-depressor making it impossible to fight back. So I was made to fight for them to make them money. But one battle I found myself surrounded. These slave merchants saved me. I had at least thought at first until I realized their intentions. They shaved my head, and accidently of course, shaved off my ear as well. In this vessel, I was condemned to a cell where they performed experiments and tortures. Taking my tail at one peculiar session. Taking my arm in another. Until one day someone destroyed the ship and I was free. I came straight here. Only to realize nine months had passed. All during this passage of time, my thoughts were on you. I endured for you. I breathed again for you.”

Tears had been pouring down her face as she listened to all of his miserable trails. She had been basking in the best time of her life while he had been off in hell. That was the only word to describe it. Guilt raged through her and she could only defend herself. “Was I to wait forever! To live a life so empty! What if you had died, and I had not found comfort in another. Would you wish me to be alone! Would you wish that upon me! You died, Kali! And I grieved, oh I have grieved! I begged with all my soul to have you again.” She sniffed and wiped the tears that never stopped falling even as she smiled lightly. “And here you. And I am thankful. And I am happy again. I can finally stop shedding so many tears for you. And I can tell you I love you.” She went to him and wrapped her up in his arms, she cried out as he embraced her. “And I can tell you I am sorry for everything I didn’t do.” He kissed her deeply to stop her heartbroken words, holding her head in his hands.

But the kiss though minutes long unfortunately ended. “Be by my side, love. We can leave and no one will stop us. I am stronger then ever before. I can destroy the court and take over the throne. And we can be together.”

Her forehead dropped to his chest. “And what of Natally and your heir?”

“They are nothing. A nuisance.”

Bra shook her head leaning back so she would be able to meet his eyes. “You are alive, my love. Nothing will ever replace my feelings for you. And the happiness I have now that you are here. But you have a family.” He shook his head but she continued. “And I have a mate.”

“Bra, don’t-”

“Kali, it’s no longer about us. They’re others now that we must care for. I have a mate. And I do love him so. He will never replace you just as nothing can replace him.”

“You love me and yet you’ll leave me.”

“I love you. And I will leave you. You know this is right. Please understand. Another time, another place our love was meant to be. But it is not this time and it is not this place.”

“Bra, don’t do this.”

“I have too. I will not hurt him.” She leaned up and kissed his still lips as she lifted his palm and placed his large ring inside of it. “Go to your daughter and your mate. They missed you just as I have.” She let his hand fall and turned to leave.

He suddenly gripped her arm roughly and her brows knitted in pain as she lifted her eyes to his. “I am asking you.” His teeth where clenched in a hidden anger that Bra saw too clear. “Not to do this.”

She slowly touched his hand, feeling him instantly loosen his rough hold. Bra explained with a furrowed brow. “I have no choice.”

“You have a choice. We all have choices.”

His anger insulted her. “And you have already made yours, Kali.” But Bra saw his agony in the blackness of his orbs and whispered softly. “I don’t say that to blame you. No one is to blame. It is fate.” She reached up and wiped the tears from his cheeks. “After all of this, it seems stupid to ask if we can still be friends. But friends, is all we can be. Please understand.” She kissed his cheek and then jumped in the air.
