~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~````Chapter
Vegeta walked toward the cottage, with the caretaker in tow. His brows knit, finding Trunks not inside the cottage but buried fearfully in the trees, hiding. He sighed. No matter how much Trunks continued to improve, trust was still being developed ever so slowly. Th boy wanted to trust him but he had also wanted to trust Klooer. He no longer knew how to trust anything. Maybe this female could help with that.
Vegeta’s thoughts distracted him and he wasn’t prepared when he felt a quick blast being sent his way and was only fast enough to cover the female. He growled at the sharp pain that was burning through his back. Vegeta powered up berating himself for not expecting Trunks personality to quickly switch in the sign of fear. He formed a protective bubble around the girl and him.
Vegeta used the fear that radiated off of the boy to find him, he narrowed his eyes, being able to see through the branches. He found him quickly, however Trunks hopped to and fro behind the bushes in panic. “Boy,”
The wind blew violently, dirt picked up and grass ripped from the earth, but thankfully for the power wrap, they felt nothing. “Who is she? Why’d you bring her here? Make her leave. I don’t know her.”
“She can help you.”
“No. Don’t need any help.” A childish response in the least.
Vegeta rolled his eyes. “Come here.”
“Just like Master.” The whisper echoed all around him.
“I am not ordering you.” Vegeta sighed. “I am asking you. You are my son. I would not harm you.” Vegeta was getting tired of reminding Trunks of these facts every single time. But sure enough he felt the switch, everything instantly went calm and the ground ceased to shake. Vegeta’s gaze was on him as he emerged shyly from the woods, lifting a branch out of his path, his timid eyes lifted and he smiled pathetically trying to hide his apprehensiveness. He took unsure steps until he was but a few feet away, a safe distance, never once looking at the woman behind him peaking over Vegeta’s shoulder.
Seneca saw him for the first time when his body was coming toward them. Her eyes widened and her heart sped with unbelievable fury. She took steps forward, willing herself to run but finding it incredibly hard. Vegeta turned to gaze at her. “Stay where you are if you value your life.” She nodded, and with another unsure look at Trunks Vegeta stepped out of the way. Trunks tried to keep his gaze to his father silently pleading with him to take the girl away but Vegeta shook his head and directed Trunk’s eyes to the woman.
Seneca smiled brightly when his eyes finally met hers though refusing to make continuous eye contact. She wiped the tears from her checks. “I’m told you don’t remember anything.”
“No, I don’t..”
Her eyes shut. Trunks glanced over at his father in confusion, Vegeta just shook his head not understanding her response either. “I’m sorry.” She said after a minute went by. “It’s been awhile since I heard your voice. I’m Seneca.” She watched his features hoping some recollection would appear but no response was given. “I’ll try my best to tell you your whole life. I’ve got awhile. But in less detail I’ll explain a few things, and maybe you’ll remember. On Earth you were known as Arcadia. You lived there your whole life.” Vegeta listened closely also, wishing to know about the absence of eighteen years. “You have another family, I guess. Goku and Chi-Chi, they are your adoptive parents. And Gohan and Goten are your adoptive brothers. We live together in an apartment. We were going to get a house in June. More things about you. You work at a Tech Research Facility that got you known around the world for brilliance. You have fish named Taco.” She laughed lightly, but stopped short upon seeing Trunks stoic expression. “Umm, you have a XE-32, most expansive car in the world. You eat only meat. No fast food and no vegetables. You hate cats and they seem to hate you. You love to fight but you would never hurt anyone on purpose even if they deserved it. You--”
“Enough.” His fists were clenching and his power was floating dangerously near Super Sayian. Vegeta took a step forward but then thought better of it. Trunks needed to learn how to control his power. But Vegeta took another step in his private debate. Trunks was only three days alive. It was too much for the kid to handle. Vegeta, however stayed where he was and just watched. Trunks was improving at great speed. This process was needed.
“I’m just trying to remind you--”
“Remind me for what? Because you think I’ll be better? I’ll be who you want? It’s not going to happen. I won’t be what you want.”
She stepped forward. “Yes, you will.”
“No.” He stepped back, scaring her lightly. He refused to make eye contact finding several things on the floor to keep his attention. “I’m not this person. Just forget me.”
“Forget you? How am I to forget you? I plan on marrying you.”
“The person you want is dead. Do you understand? He’s dead.”
“Just because you don’t remember--”
“No! I’m different. I am not him. Just go away.” He turned to leave.
“I see your wearing the necklace.” It stalled him and his back straightened. Tears were starting to built as she felt him slipping farther away from her. “You gave me that. Just before you left. You promised you’d come home.”
Trunks didn’t turn to look at her. But he instead ripped the necklace from him and held it to his side. “I am not the one you seek. He died a long time ago. Just forget him.” He heard her quiet sob like a bomb in the forest. “I’m sorry.” He whispered as he let the chain slip from his fingers and fall to the floor, never once looking back as he went inside.
Vegeta watched her fall to her knees. His eyes however went quickly to the house and narrowed in his anger. Vegeta went into the cottage going instantly to the bedroom where the boy laid curled to his side. “Go away, Vegeta.”
“What the hell was that about?”
Trunks sat up. “Why’d you bring her here?”
“She knows your past. She can help.”
He stood. “What good is it? What good is it to know my past when I know nothing of now?”
“It will trigger. Your memory will come back-”
“Then what?” Tears filled his blue eyes, shocking Vegeta. “Then I’ll feel the blinding guilt for killing four people? I’ll feel the overwhelming shame for fucking those whores-” He cut himself off, pacing now before his father, running his hands through his long hair.
Vegeta’s eyes widened. “You remember?” Trunks nodded. “What do you remember?”
“Waking up on some weird planet. Mas– Klooer. Coming here to take my sister away. The battle.” He stalled and stared straight. “And the face of my mother.”
“What triggered it?”
He looked to his father. “That ring. That stupid fucking ring.” Trunks sat on the bed, holding his head in his hands. It was quiet for a while till he spoke again. “I’m starting to think, remembering is not as important as it once was.”
“You say only because of fear. You will not be blamed for all that you have done while damaged.”
“She will blame me.”
“Then she is no mate.” Vegeta turned on his heal, “She is however, your caretaker.” Vegeta ignored the boy’s protects as he exited the house and went to the woman still crying on the ground. “Stand.” She quickly obeyed. “Do not listen to the boy. Force your memories on him. He will remember. Here.” She grasped the object. “Press this if he loses himself and attempts to harm you.” Vegeta left her there without so much as a backward glance.
“This sucks.” Goten declared flopping down on the couch and stared up at the ceiling feeling Bra’s eyes on him but he ignored them.
“Care to specify?”
“Arcadia’s out there!” He hollared a bit too harshly however he was careless of it. He sat up holding his head in his hands. “And I can’t even see him.”
“My father’s keeping him away for good reasons.”
“I don’t care. Your father hasn’t been around him in eighteen years! It’s my place to be with him. I can help.”
“You heard what he said. Trunks isn’t right.”
“Stop calling him Trunks. I’ve told you, it’s Arcadia.”
Bra stood from her place next to the fire. “Goten, stop trying to pick a fight with me, okay. I’m going through a rough time too.”
“Dating two guys must be hard.” He mumbled, laying back down.
“What is that suppose to mean?”
“I know you went and talk to him. How many kisses were between you two this time?”
Bra laughed, finding his jealousy funny and insulting at the same time. “What is your problem?”
“My problem is that my girlfriend is stuck up on her last relationship, and that my brother has been recently be brought to life and I can’t see him.”
Bra sighed, tying up her hair and stretching her limps. “All right, come on.” She got down into a fighting position.
Goten raised an eyebrow. “What?”
“You want to fight, then let’s fight. But I don’t want either of us to continue to say things that aren’t nice. So come one. If you think you can take me.” Goten had his arms wrapped around her before she even blinked and screeched out. “You stupid Super Sayians. If it was regular strength I bet I could kick your ass.” He shut her up with his lips.
