Chapter-- Maddox

Vegeta did not know how to escape this. There were so many of them and they were all powerful. It would help if he could just get one second free so he could power up into his Super Sayian form. Then all he had to do was plow right through them.

That wasn’t the hard part however. It was trying not to kill another Sayian. And they certainly made it tough for him to hold back. He growled in frustration. He couldn’t even concentrate on other kis. There was no way of knowing where his mate was or where Kali was. It was just so annoying how they kept fucking coming!

Vegeta jumped back, dodging a blast for his head and flew up high into the air, being chased by ten others. But at least he got time to think of a plan. He stopped and all surrounded him. “You all fight me now, yet you fight for a half-breed. Kali only exists because of what I did.” Vegeta growled, caring not for conversation only to gain power.

“What makes you think we fight for Kali? That half-breed will be dealt with once this war is over.”

“He is not your Pure King?”

They all chuckled. The only female in the group spoke, “We fight to destroy you because of our race’s depletion of greatness.”

“Speak not to me, child. You were not even out of your sire’s womb.”

“I was well out.” A man to his left hollered. Vegeta eyed him. He did not look familiar but was older then himself.

“Who do you fight for?”

He smirked. “Someone who’s hatred runs for you deep.”

“I get that. Who?”

“You could not have forgotten him. You sent him to Netu.”

Vegeta’s eyes widened with actually fear as his eyes went to the castle. “Turles.” It was then he felt the familiar ki, along with Bulma. His power flashed as he went straight for them but was attacked on all sides. In his panic, he flexed his power, shoving any that was around him back at least twenty feet. It, however, didn’t give him enough time to transform as another wave of Sayians came from below.

Bulma gazed upon him, mouth agape as he stood. His metal skin caught her attention more then seeing him alive actually did. But it was the red eye that she stared at as he stepped right up to her, still almost two feet taller then her. “Turles.” Bulma whispered unable to forget that she had once called him friend. Seeing him again would have brought a smile to her face had she not taken note of the symbol on his chest. The Symbol of King. She took a step back, “You are the Pure King. Not Kali.”

He smiled and his good eye went to the side where Kali was found awaiting in the darkness. He stepped out, ignoring the eyes of Bra. “No, Kali is my loyal assistant.”

“Where’s Trunks?”

“He is just fine. Would you like me to retrieve him?” Bulma’s eyes narrowed.

“What did you do to him?”

The questioned appeared as an insult as Turles quickly responded. “I would never harm him.” He turned and exited out a hidden door.

Bulma was not sure if she understood anything that was going on. But she knew she needed to find a cure. “Stay here and stall. I’m going to find a computer.” Bulma ran for the door only to gasp the moment Kali’s body appeared in front of her. “Get out of my way.”

“Did you misunderstand that when I took Trunks I was declaring my allegiance to this empire? I no longer follow you, human.”

Goten came up beside her, “Go Bulma, I’ll take care of him.”

Kali‘s head tilted with a smirk. “Will you?” Kali shoved Bulma to the floor as he took his place in front of Goten. “You and what power? You are nothing compared to what I am. I thought I proved that.”

“You may have the bigger ego-”

Bra squeezed between the two of them, “No I won’t let this happen.” But it was obvious from the way the two giants stared upon the other that they ignored her voice.

“Queen Bulma.” Radditz’s voice sounded. He lifted the woman from the floor.

“Bulma.” Maddox wrapped her arms around the woman but Bulma shoved her back.

“Traitors.” Bulma’s hurt was obvious as she stepped away and quickly ran from the room. Maddox looked to her mate then ran after her.

“Bra, get out of here before you get hurt.” Goten growled, never once taking his eyes from Kali.

“Yes, Bra, listen to your mate.” But Kali did break eye contact to lower his dark gaze to her. “Unless you plan to beg for his life. In that case, I will kill you now.” His metal hand attached itself to her neck, lifting her feet from the floor.

Goten was interrupted by Radditz, “Drop her now, Kali.”

His penetrating gaze slowly went to his father. His head tilted, “Why yes, father.” The evil sarcastic bite did not go unnoticed as he tossed Bra’s body over to Radditz.

Radditz gently put her on her feet while she tried to control her coughing, “Go after your mother.” With a quick glance to both the men, Bra ran out, covering her watering eyes. “Goten. Go see if she is alright.”

“No. I think I’ll stay.”

Kali’s gaze came back to him and a wide smirk spread on his lips. “Yes, father. I think he should stay.” A quick flash of teal rolled across Kali’s eyes and Goten leaned back into a fighting stance.

“Kali.” Turles’ voice echoed, abundant anger vibrated his tone. “Did I not tell you that your fight would wait?”

“Obey your master.” Goten mocked in the same tone he had used what seemed like years ago. Kali remembered as well for Goten felt the man’s ki skyrocket. Goten took know time in throwing his powered fist at Kali’s face. But Kali’s reflex was too quick. His metal arm caught the hand. Goten’s eyes widened. He could finally feel the true power within Kali as the grip around his fingers tightened, slowly breaking bone. His screams of agony echoed the large room before a kick to the stomach rendered him without air and another smash to the face threw him across the room, slamming into the wall then dropping to the floor.

“Enough!” Turles growled, stomping his way up to Kali, “your insubordination will not be overlooked. Now get yourself to the Tech wing and bring me back Bulma.” Kali glared back but bowed slightly and disappeared. Turles turned only to catch the wide eyes of Radditz staring back at him.

“It’s been you.” He stated in disbelief.

“You finally figured it out.”

“You’re the one that’s been teaching him.” Radditz stared at the floor, shaking his head. “How? How did you get off of Netu?”

“Oh, it’s a wonderful story.” Turles mocked.

Radditz growled suddenly, his anger getting the best of him, he took a menacing step forward, “How are you controlling my son?”

“It’s nothing that I’m doing. His hate created a life of its own. Because of you really. You should have let him follow his desires, Radditz, truly. Could have saved you all of this.”

“How dare you presume to tell me about my son.”

“Watch who you talk to, boy. I am your new king.”

“Not while I’m alive.”

“Well, then. We will have to do something about that won’t we?”

~~~~~~~~~~~~`````
Bulma ignored the footsteps behind her as she got to the Tech ward. It was empty like she had hoped. She sat down at the computer just as Maddox entered. The woman came up behind her. “We aren’t traitors, Bulma. I swear it. Kali needs our help. We are trying to find out who is controlling him. Please, believe us.”
“And that required you taking my son?”
“We had no choice. Kali would have killed us.”
“Then you die. Wasn’t that your pledge. To protect the throne?”
“My son’s life comes before anyone else’s. I expected you to understand that.”
“I did.” Bulma finally turned to her. “Until you took my son.”
“He’s safe I swear it. Bulma, there was no other way. We had to come to make sure Trunks stayed protected. Kali would have taken him either way. And damn it, Bulma. I’m not going to let you blame me, this wasn’t my idea and I expect you to understand that I wouldn’t’ betray you in a million years. You’re like my little sister for Kami’s sake!” Bulma couldn’t keep herself from smiling and soon laughing. Maddox giggled too, before bowing lightly. “My Queen.” She mocked.
Bra however walked in soon, tears dripping down her cheeks, holding her neck as she instantly ran into her mother’s waiting arms. “What happen, Bra.”
“Kali.”
Maddox came up behind, placing her hand on Bra’s head and whispering in her ear. “He knows not what he does, Bra, keep that in mind. He loved you so much, please, remember my son that way.”
“Something bad is going to happen.” She cried pathetically. “He going to kill Goten.”
“Your father’s going to get here soon and fix it. I promise.” Bulma reassured.
“Yeah, Vegeta’s the strongest, he’ll fix it.”
“Is he now?” Kali’s voice echoed the empty ward. The three girls tightened in their fear as Kali stepped forward. “Bulma, my king wishes to speak with you.”
Maddox took a deep breath, placing herself in front of the queen and daughter, facing her son. “I won’t let you near her.”
He chuckled. “How do you plan on stopping me?
“I don’t know who‘s controlling you, but I can’t let you hurt anyone.”
“Don’t you see, mother? I am thinking clearly for the first time. Vegeta and his mate are the ones that’s controlling everybody! You are proof! You are going against me now too.” Kali shoved her to the floor and grabbed Bulma’s arm. Maddox quickly stood, running in front of the exit.
“Sweetie, please. I love you. You have to fight it. You would never hurt me if you weren’t being--” Kali’s large metal fist shot out, hitting Maddox straight in the middle of her chest. Her body slid on the metal floor.
“Stay down, mother. Before something bad happens to you.” He hadn’t looked at her as he past with the struggling queen behind him.
But Bulma had. Her hand covered her mouth and tears began to swell, she struggled against the hand that grasped her to get to Maddox, to try and help her in any way but it was obvious as she watched Bra drop down on her knees beside her. Maddox chest cavity caved, crushing her heart, and killing her. “Maddox!” Bulma screamed as she went through the door but the hand that held her paid no mind.
Vegeta was getting too annoyed to think properly. There was no order, they just kept coming from all directions. His army was not fairing so well from the looks of it. These Sayians knew so many different fighting techniques, it was overwhelming. But some were familiar. Some of these tactics he remembered from his month on Netu. Apparently Turles had given them a crash course on desperate survival. In other words, a dishonoring way of fighting. It was remotely pathetic. But unfortunately, their techniques were giving them the upper hand.
Vegeta caught sight of something. Or better yet someone, running across the field. His eyes widened. It was Seneca. That female had stowed away again. He flew sporadically, dodging each Sayian coming at him and finally made it to her, dropping in front of her, blocking a blast that was thrown at her. “What are you doing!” He growled.
“I have to get to Trunks!”
“Damn female, you die and you will never revive him.” He blasted and kicked and punched, protecting the woman all the while. He called to three soldiers close by. “Get her to the castle.” One Sayian grabbed her while the other two fought.
It took a few minutes but they finally got her inside. Vegeta flew up in the air. His patience was running out. He didn’t know how much longer he could keep this up.
