Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ So Blue ❯ Family Feud ( Chapter 26 )
~~~~``` Chapter 26- Family Feud
Defeated, tired, and depressed, Vegeta headed back to his castle. Why did it have to be so hard with her? She was his daughter. She was the one always wrapping her tiny arms around his leg, sitting on his foot, begging for him to play with her. She was the one that used to interrupt very important meetings just so he could meet a brand new doll Bulma had made. She was the one that would stomp her foot and yell to the heavens above that she wanted to sit on his lap while talking to foreign kings and queens. And now, the only things she wanted him to do was stay the hell away. Bra was so rebellious now, he couldn't stay out of her path even if he chose.
He wasn't as cruel as she thought. She just didn't understand the reason he did things. And some times the things that he has done were a bit too stupid but everything had been because he had wanted to keep her safe. None of them were out of spite or selfishness. He had thought only of her.
Vegeta headed straight for his bedroom, needing to drown himself in Bulma's sweet body. He felt her ki however weak it was. He vaguely questioned the reason she was in there but could care less at the moment. The door automatically closed behind but he stalled instantly meeting his mate's harsh but tearful gaze. "Bra talked to me."
"Oh." He spat, though caring nil, he walked over to the kitchen yanking off his gloves. "And?"
"I don't know whether to be angry. Or relieved you got there in time." She sighed, wiping her straying tears away. "I don't know what to do either, Vegeta."
"I know exactly what to do. Have her on constant surveillance, and keep that bastard locked up."
"That's not going to fix the problem."
"Sure as hell not going to create one."
"Bra's almost seventeen years old. She free, she's wild, she's…She's me, Vegeta. Don't you see that? She is us. A perfect combination. Keeping her locked up will only get her more rebellious."
"Then what should I do, Bulma? Just stand by and watch as she mates with that half-breed? Allow her to give up all that I have worked for her to receive? Help her destroy her life?"
"No, You shouldn't. But you should deal with her not with a biased opinion but with an opened mind. Listen to her wants. Listen to her cries. Ask her what she wants and try your best to give it to her. But whatever you do, do not ignore her. And do not punish her for feeling. She may be royalty, mate. But she is still just a seventeen year old girl. With a heart that feels so many things. Do not let it be hate that replaces all of her emotions."
"If I let her do what she wants, Onna. She will go with that half-breed."
"As much as I hate it, Vegeta, allow her to make the decision. We have stripped her of Kali. And now if we do the same with Goten, she may as well become ice."
"I am starting to think that we should have let Kali and her mate."
Goten eyes fluttered open. Pain echoed off his lips and immediately he wanted to curl into a tight ball at the pain in his ribs but something fastened him to a warm, comfy bed. He heard the sound of his mother's voice calling him softly to open his eyes. "Mom…"
"Yeah honey. You've been sleeping for a few hours now. How do you feel?"
"Where am I?"
"In the med. Bay in the castle."
"Why?"
"You got hurt honey. We were hoping you'd tell us. Radditz said for us to come here. Is there a lot of pain?" He nodded, his eyes finally opening and looking around. His father was talking with Radditz and Bardock quietly, Gohan and his family was sitting at a table in the corner all smiling to him. He waved weakly. "You have six broken ribs, honey. And the doctors have done all they could."
"Not all." A sweet voice echoed the room. They all turned to the doorway. Bulma stood there with a smile. "Radditz start the Rega Tank"
"But Queen Bulma, the king said--"
"I know what he said. But he is busy at the moment and if he has a problem with it you may tell him to bring it up with me. But I will not have our guest suffer. Now obey my order, Commander."
"Yes, my Lady." he quickly exited the room.
"If you do not mind I would like a minute alone with your son please." Chi-Chi glared at the female who only smiled in return. She was just about to say she was not leaving her son's side when Goku came over and gently whispered to her ear. With a humph, she stomped out, pushing past the queen. Bulma giggled seeing the sheepish expression on Kakarot's face. "I would like to get to know your family. Meet us for dinner tonight." The family exited. Bulma walked up beside the quiet one, sitting side saddle on the bed. "You and I must talk, young one."
Her eyes…What was it about her eyes that were so familiar? "Your husband made it clear." He bit, turning his head away.
"My husband, is pure Sayian. I am pure human. I am sure you would rather talk with me about your situation then with him. You like my daughter."
"I love your daughter."
"You think so?"
"I know."
"And how is that? What is it that you know about her that you love so much? Do you know her favorite color? Her favorite prey? Her strengths and weaknesses? Her wants and dislikes?"
"All of these things, I will find out if given time. But it's not her strengths and weaknesses or her favorite color, I care for. I don't know what it is but I can feel her inside of me. She's crying right now. And I have every will to get out of this bed and go to her."
Bulma stared into the black eyes the resembled so many creatures on this planet, only difference they beheld was the wide expression of innocence's. She cracked a smile. "Fine. You convinced me. You may proceed with my daughter. Just understand that by doing so, you are condemning her to lose her title on future queen."
"If that's what she wants. That's the only thing I care about. Not your palace and your planet. It's her I want to please. In every aspect that life brings."
"Right. You will be healed now. And may go to her when you are done. Just stay clear of the king for a few years."
Vegeta stepped into his daughter's room, her cries echoed throughout though he tried to ignore them. He made his way to her bedroom, seeing her faced down on her mattress, head buried into the pillow. He dropped his head. He didn't know how he had gotten into this mess. His mate still had her very persuasive ways as before. Vegeta set down on the edge of the bed next to her. Watching the child shaking and sobbing pulled at his parental instincts wanting to sooth her cries. He placed a hand gently upon her back feeling her flinch at the sudden touch.
Several minutes past before Bra had the will to speak without sobs clouding her throat. "Why do you hate me so much?" Her muffled, strained voice whispered.
His brows knit in hurt of her insult. "I do not hate you--"
"Yes you do! You must!" She lifted her head to him, her eyes swollen and red, tears streaking down her face. "You have to hate me to treat me this way! I am sorry I am not Trunks, I am sorry! But don't punish me anymore please!"
Vegeta closed his eyes dropping his head to his chest. He slowly shook his head. "I am not punishing you, Bra." He brought his orbs to hers.. "I treat you the only way I know how."
"I know how much Trunks meant to you, Daddy. And I'm sorry you lost him. I'm sorry you went through so much pain because of him. And I know I can't replace him. And I don't want too. I just want you to love me like you do him. I'm sorry I can't bring him back for you. And I know you think sometimes you wish it had been me instead of him and I'm sorry. But I can't change who I am daddy. And I can't bring back Trunks. Please don't be mad at me anymore." Her arms wrapped around his waist, head falling to his chest, crying brutally against him. Vegeta stroked her lavender hair, soothing her cries, gently kissing her head.
"Young one, you are very wrong in your assumption. I never wanted you to be anyone else, let alone your dead brother. You are my princess. And for that I want to protect you from everything that can harm you. But you hold your mother's spirit. Something that I could never control. You want to do things that I never wanted you to know about but I realize now you were determined to have what you wanted from the beginning. The more I denied the more rebellious you became so I call a truce. I will…ease up and let you make your decisions. As long as you wait until your eighteen to mate. And I will talk to the court about future courtship of half-breeds."
Bra sniffed and lifted her head from his shoulder. Vegeta smoothed her ruffled hair back and wiped her tears from her red cheeks. "Really?"
"Yes."
"Oh, daddy!" She flung her arms around him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" He chuckled. "I never hated you daddy, never ever! I was just mad!"
"I know, Princess."
"I love you, Daddy. I do." She kissed his cheek and quickly hopped off the bed. "I've got to go tell Goten." She checked herself in the mirror, quickly brushing her hair before running out of the door. Vegeta shook his head, chuckling to himself.
Waking up to see Radditz's stern and harsh features was something Goten could have done without. The green liquid that had once surrounded him now emptied the huge tank and with utter surprise his body was in no pain prior to only an hour ago. The door open and Radditz none too gently ripped the wires and mask away and roughly grabbed Goten by the arm throwing him brutally out of the tank. His wet body hit the marble floor with a sickening slap, he cringed mentally though not in pain. His uncle was obvious mad.
Radditz threw a towel at his nephew, "Get up." He growled, his tail whipping behind him violently.
Goten wrapped the towel around his waist, "What'd I do?"
The giant man paced the floor before him, Goten could feel the Sayian energy sore the room though thankfully he wasn't projecting it. He watched with knitted brows but took an unconscious step back when Radditz suddenly turned to him, "You have no right!"
"To what?"
"The Princess! My son owns her!"
"Why are you getting mad, Radditz? I thought this is what you wanted. I thought you didn't want her and Kali to be together."
"Yes, I didn't. But it is unfair that you get your choice, and my son must suffer."
"Kali's married to someone--"
"That is not the point! She was his first! And because he is not here right now I will protect what belongs to him!"
"Radditz it's too late. You said that once a couple marks each other they are forever tied together. So why are you getting mad at me? Bra loved Kali, she has told me more times then I would have liked to hear, but Kali gave her up--"
"You know nothing of our rules, boy!"
"I don't need too! Your rules are shit! I love Bra, and she loves me. I can know all of your rules and all of your laws, but it will change nothing. I won't stop loving her. And if she wants to give up everything for me, then that is her choice, I will not decide for her like Kali did. I will let her make her own decisions!"
Radditz visibly calmed, though his tail kept flicking about and his teeth ground together, his cheek muscles flexing as result. His voice was low but Goten felt no threat. "If you continue this, boy, there will be a feud between us. When Kali returns and finds his mate in your arms, do not think I or anyone else will interfere when he challenges you to a fight to the death."
"I will be waiting." Radditz barred his teeth, growling loudly but swiftly turned his back and stomped out of the room. Goten ran a hand through his hair, "Man, Arcadia, if you could only see what your little brother has gotten himself into."
